I came across Autohaus on a google search my husband needed work on his car and they have been our go to mechanical place since then. I am sooo grateful that I found them. Seriously the best hands down. Autohaus is located near North Raleigh right off of Glenwood and they situated on a private lot. There is plenty of parking and on any given day you will see cars in the lot waiting to be picked up or serviced. I called the day before and spoke with Shana (who is amazing by the way she knows EVERYTHING about EVERY car, she literally knows the business like the back of her hand) I wanted to get the dreaded admissions test on my car for my registration and she was able to schedule me an appt immediately. She even remember who I was because my husband gets his car serviced there. The office is very clean + neat and bigger than what you think. They have a little lounge area with snacks + drinks which I thought was a great touch. The admission test took about 15 mins which was no time. Luckily I passed and I was done. They charge me $30 for this and they even gave me a quote for some other work that I needed done. On our way out she gave us a cookie with their logo on it which I thought was nice. They said they were changing 6 spark plugs on a Mercedes Benz Glk and when I took it back for maintenance, they said that these people had only changed 3. Charged me $800 guaranteeing the problem was fixed. They also put in low quality spark plugs in my car making the engine light go on after a person bought the car from me. The manager SHANNA GOODING should be fired for knowing this and completely scamming me. They even left a full diagnosis on one of the coils- Truly disappointed at how evil people can be especially this business. Took my Mercedes E55 for a check engine light three times. The fuel system was being tested again and we were now throwing a third (and now getting expensive) repair at the persisting problem and had still not yielded a fix for the check engine light. After the check engine light soon returned, I took the car to Leith Mercedes, who fixed the car for a quarter of what I paid Autohaus in 3 visits in just a few hours. Additionally, the car was cleaned and waxed and the problem turned out to be the other, hard to see end of a hose that autohaus had already worked on and fabricated, but as I'm told by Leith they "probably lacked the necessary tools, such as scoped optics, to even see the problem was at the other end". I was specifically recommended Autohaus by an online Mercedes owner's forum's local members. I learned the hard way, that this place is probably more for older model mercs and beemers from years gone by, for a cheap alternative to the dealer hourly rates and that if your car is anything near a prized possession, then you should probably steer clear and just go to the dealer, who I can recommend. My car was mistreated by Autohaus staff, including a traction control disabled, wheel spinning launch from a full stop in the middle of I70 on the hill outside Crabtree Valley Mall. The engine was heat soaked when I got it back and the supercharger disengaged. Very unprofessional treatment. One of the service techs that took a turn to joyride my hard earned car in the passenger seat had plugged in what he thought was a second radar detector on my windshield, remarking about me "having two radar detectors" but it was actually a DVR-Camera which they had inadvertently enabled to record themselves - upon return to Autohaus, they discussed "That car which you keep trying to boil the tires off of". When the transmission blew again, they did not stand by their work and told me that they were no responsible for the transmission. I have visited Autohaus twice, once for a service and again for a transmission issue with my Mercedes. Let me say that as a person who has religiously had ALL of his maintenance and routine services done by various Mercedes dealerships I was VERY pleased with Autohaus. Why: - Clean shop - Efficient, and courteous staff - Friendly and approachable owner, who is actually ON-SITE daily and is not afraid to interact with customers - Professionally done work at VERY competitive prices that can be almost %50 (at times) cheaper than going to the dealer. - Impressive waranty I had work done on my transmission after seeing a check engine light prompted an immediate visit. I spoke with the owner. He was VERY knowledgeable, kind, understanding, and took the time to explain EXACTLY what was needed and how much it would cost. The work was done PROFESSIONALLY, EFFICIENTLY, and was actually a few dollar cheaper than the initial quote. But wait... Here's the kicker. I am a technical details guy. I do not do very many things without researching. The owner Doug was very honest and REALLY went ABOVE and BEYOND (in my opinion) to not only explain my issue but try to help me. I had checked with the local Mercedes dealer and was quoted a price also. The Autohaus price was a little over $2000 dollars cheaper than what the Mercedes dealer wanted to charge for the same job. Not a typo. $2000 dollars cheaper than the dealership! That is AMAZING in my opinion and warrants a first look by anyone who has a Mercedes and wants quality work performed at a high level, but at a more economical price. The final thing that sold me was that Autohaus didn't take short cuts on getting the needed parts. They actually ordered the parts directly from Mercedes!!! They are an AUTHORIZED Mercedes repair shop and have Mercedes diagnostic equipment. They also warranty their work for a longer period than the Mercedes dealer. I am not saying that I am never going back to the Mercedes dealer to have work done. What I am saying is that for ALL work needed on my Mercedes (and your foreign car is you are smart) I will take the time to check with Autohaus first. read more

My family and I have been bringing our cars here for years. I know the prices may be a little higher than other spots but the personal attention they give me and the fact that know all of our cars as soon as I give them my last name makes it worth it to me. The waiting room is comfortable with wifi, tv, snacks, and coffee and if you don't have time to wait, they will help you figure out transportation as well! Easy to schedule and will often take your car early. Worth the extra TLC for me. For bigger repairs they understand a price comparison at the dealership, but I have only opted for that once or twice and I think once was for convenience when living in Durham! Again. Shanna, service advisor, advised me that she would get my car in as soon as possible for review. Outcome my car needed it's crankshaft position sensor replaced. Mission accomplished! Update - It gets even worse (see previous review). At time of second oil change here, they advised me that brake pads had worn down to less than 20% and wanted me to approve $800 work on the spot. Second opinion 5,000 miles (6 months) later shows 25% still remaining and not needed for another year. They did not bother to warn me that tires would be needed sooner. But they don't sell tires, so I guess that explains it. Yes, they are very nice, they have an amazingly wonderful waiting area, and they talk a good game. But I prefer a mechanic who can at least use the correct oil for an oil change. read more

This place has great customer service. I have on '01 Jetta that sometimes can be temperamental. Beth, the owner has a great demeanor and all of the workers are helpful and knowledgeable. I was looking for a mechanical opinion on a high-mileage european import that I was considering buying. Doug got on the phone, introduced himself as the owner, and proceed to spend about 10 minutes with me explaining the good/bad/ugly about the car I was considering buying. Then he gave me some sound advice about my impending purchase, which frankly didn't benefit him at all. I was very impressed that he was gracious enough to spend as much time with me as he did as I am not a current customer of theirs and have never spoken to them. After using Autohaus in the past with varying degrees of success, a recent experience resulted in them damaging my vehicle while it was in their possession. Worse yet, they then charged me for the repairs to fix the damage they caused, which did not even get fixed the first time. After they got the vehicle back to repair the damage they caused and failed to fix it initially, they made a fuss about me having to return the loaner vehicle after hours and claimed I would be permanently banned from being able to get any future loaner vehicles, and then claimed they would charge me for the loaner vehicle. I had to threaten to sue them before they would agree to waive the loaner fees and credit me back for repairs that resulted from their damage to my vehicle. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! I tend to only post reviews when I find truly unacceptable business practices and this one is worthy of the need to warn others. read more

I've been taking my 2007 328i there for a couple months, first for a window regulator replacement ($400) and an oil change ($100). At my last oil change they told me that I needed front a rear brakes even though my sensor wasn't indicating the need. They emailed me an estimate of $1188 (pads, rotors, sensors - front & rear). Well, that's a lot of money so I shopped around and got some other estimates, Weaver quoted 750 for the same job (includes 15 percent off labor for new customers) and Shade Tree Garage quoted 825 for the same work. I called one more place, Reliable Import Service and they gave a quote in the ballpark of Weaver, but suggested I bring the car in to be sure, well turns out I don't need rotors at all, not even rear brake pads! Not even anywhere close. All I needed was front brake pads! So for a grand total of $640 I got 4 brand new tires and new front brake pads! They even replaced a rear light bulb for free and took my car over to for it's inspection. Great service. Won't be going back to Autohaus. read more
