Was looking for a while into tinting my truck and I took time to do my research. After seeing alot of good reviews from g5 and going in person I decided this is where I would get a tint from. I am very picky and they were patient and helpful in choosing which tint to go with. They did not try and upsell me which I appreciated alot and they took just a few hours to complete the whole truck. I like the medium to dark fade and not blacked out all around, so after taking some time I decided to go with 15% pinnacle on the rear (on top of factory private glass) and 35% pinnacle up front and the clear blue 80 for my windshield. I decided to take my car to G5 to tint because of all the glowing reviews and also because my sister was very happy with the tint job she got at the valley blvd. location. I went to the location on Valley Blvd. to see the different tint options that they carried. Initially I wanted the 3M color stable, but after experimenting with the heat lamp a little, I decided I wanted ceramic tint since it blocked a quite bit more heat. This Valley Blvd. location was completely booked for next Saturday, so I made an appointment next Saturday at 10:30am at the Pasadena location. This was a plus, I know a lot of other tint places are first come first serve. I arrived Saturday morning at the Pasadena location and talked to Ricky about my options. The Pasadena location carries Llumar and Formula One films. I told Ricky I wanted a ceramic tint all around that didn't look too dark so I wouldn't be pulled over. Ricky took his time to explain the difference between the films and how the different percentages would look on my car. He suggested 30 or 35 percent to keep my white BMW 530i looking classy without too much hassle from the cops. After looking at a few of the cars they were working on, I decided on Formula One Pinnacle 35 all around. I left my car there and picked it up a little later that afternoon. When I came to pick it up, my car looked perfect; not too light, not too dark, no scratches, no dust, no imperfections, I couldn't be happier with the tint. I could give more star for this shop but a month after I tinted my wife's BMW window, and my wife is always complaining about the annoying wind noise from a drive side and also from passenger side. I check it out and drive over 65 mph then it really annoying sound from the window. I forget to say that I have BMW X1 and it has only 8000miles on it. And another reason that I don't like which is the rear window on the back got damage really bad. It seem like when they tint the glass, they removed the glass and put it down to the ground to do the job...so my glass got damage to the surface pretty bad. Also there was some bubble still on the window after a month tinted. Even we did not clean or wash the car for 2 weeks after the job done. Feel so bad. Update 10/19/17 I got the message from Risky who told me come back for free service and replace the window about 2 months ago, but for me No and thank you. One is enought, I dont want parts that not from BMW on my car and if they do the job then all the window joints will damage which will drive me crazy when the wind blow on freeway. I chose to go with G5 due to Ricky's clarity and excellent customer service, the fact that they are not a mobile shop, and their pricing is in line with other 5-star-rated shops. Ricky explained that in the past, his shop performed several types of work, but they decided to narrow their services and specialize in tinting. Tinting is what he and his team do 6 days a week, and they have the expertise that comes with focus and specialization. He explained why he believes in LLumar film and what my choices were within the Llumar family. He showed me a short video of a light meter reading to demonstrate how much more effective Llumar is than their competitor in terms of IR-blocking. Because G5 is not a mobile vendor, they custom cut your tint film using a computerized cutting machine, which offers more precision than a mobile vendor's hand tools. I booked my appointment, and G5 texted me the day before my appointment to confirm that I'd be there. When you arrive on-site, Ricky will show you around, and there's a waiting room with a TV, wifi, and free drinks. Ricky is also great about demonstrating the Llumar film in person and offering recommendations of which films are right for you. Called them in the morning to see if they could fit me into their schedule. They were able to squeeze both me and my girlfriends car into their schedule. I went in to have my front windows tinted darker on my 2017 Subaru WRX. While consulting with Ricky, he showed me one of the staff members cars that had limo tint and I went ahead with it. Needless to say, the car tint came out perfect. No errors, no scratches, just perfection! They were also able to tint my girlfriends 2018 Subaru Crosstrek on the same day. Ricky mentioned that the Crosstrek windows have a greenish tint on the windows. Something I didn't even realize! He worked with me and my girlfriend on choosing a tint shade and the car came out perfect. This is the fourth car i've had tinted at G5 and as long as they stay open this is my lifetime tint shop. It's the things that a business does to fix the inevitable mistakes that really make the mark of a great shop. G5 is an awesome shop and Ricky knows how important his customers are. They really know how to run a business. Plus, the new location is awesome and much cleaner with more space! I did my daughters car in the previous location in Pasadena and my wife's car on Walnut. Ricky and the team did a great job on both cars but there was a small issue with the recent job.... a small piece of trim broke when they did the job. Ricky didn't try to hide it or tell me I was out of luck because it's a really old car... On the contrary !! He notified me of the problem when he gave the car back and told me that he'd try to find and replace the part. He searched online for a used part and found it at a junkyard. My wife's car is 16 years old, so I'd imagine this was pretty difficult. Anyway, fast-forward several weeks because I didn't have a chance to bring in the car until it was convenient for me. Ricky and his team went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with my tint job on my 2016 Honda Accord Coupe. I went with the CTX package at 15 and 30 for the passenger and rear windows/windshield. The first time it was done, I noticed that the film on the back windshield was already starting to peel at the corners a few days after the job was done. I called to let them know and was able to bring it back in for a redo, no questions asked. After the second time, it still wasn't up to par, so I was told to bring it in on a Saturday to Ricky for personal inspection. Ricky found out that there is a coating around the outside portion of Honda Accord windows that prevents the film from adhering properly. He called a Honda sales rep to get info. on the coating and was then able to fix the problem after he got new information on the coating that was causing all the issues. The rear windshield looks amazing now, and he even cut the film to be flush with the dot matrix. He even threw in a couple of cup protectors for the door handles so the paint doesn't get scratched, which was starting to become noticeable on my black car. I can't recommend Ricky's service and his team's commitment to providing exceptional window tinting enough. I will absolutely be bringing in my future cars here and will recommend all my friends/family to G5. I don't even write Yelp reviews but I felt that this was necessary for the amount of service I received. Thanks again! read more
