Lake perch this is the best I tasted in the whole Midwest very consistent give it a try you will not be disappointed

These are the most impressive perch in all of the Midwest, the real Lake, Michigan yellow perch. They taste incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The family atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Restaurant makes some taste even better. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

Complimentary bread at the top, steamed veggies were very fresh and the Liver, onions, mashed potatoes were Top Notch! 10/10

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A good sign when you search Yelp for Best Lunch Spot Near Me and you are out of town, in a small town south of Chicago and you see a steady stream.of customers heading to the door before noon![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was a Home Run pick, a very nice, old school diner feel, counter seating included, with Huge Placemat/Menu that included Roast Turkey and Dressing, A Classic Club, a Reuben on Marbled Rye, Beef Liver & Grilled Onions, Huge Omelets and several salads offered![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I chose the Liver and Onions adding a side salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette. The choice was not easy with the Roast Turkey, A Cuban Sandwich and the Reuben pulling at me as well. Believe me, there was Zero Regret in my choice, it was easily the best plate of Liver and Onions I have ever experienced, very tasty, tender and an extremely large portion. The salad and mixed vegetables were fresh, crisp and large portioned as well. I very highly recommend adding Gabe's Place to your list of places to stop for lunch (or a breakfast and dinner) if you are ever traveling near Glenwood IL. The food, service and hospitality was exactly what you might expect from such an authentic neighborhood diner anywhere in small-town U.S.A.

The service and food were excellent. I had the corn beef skillet and it was great. Highly recommended! We will definitely be going back.

My eggs were scrambled hard without any cheese and that's not what I ordered. My turkey bacon seems a little undercooked, however, the turkey sausage sausages were good. My friend ordered a turkey wrap and she said it was OK. My other friend ordered a combo with pork meat that consists of sausage and bacon. She ordered scrambled soft with out cheese. The server brought her eggs out, scrambled hard with cheese. Our server, Melissa forgot to give coffee as we asked for a refill. She didn't seem attentive to the table as we were waiting on her to come back to even fix the problem that had occurred. Finally, she came over. She asked if we wanted more eggs I said no you could just adjust my bill so that it can reflect. I didn't eat the eggs she took off $2.29. I'm assuming that was for the eggs that I had with my meal. She did not take off anything for my friends's meal as her eggs were cooked incorrectly. Melissa didn't apologize for the inconvenience of our food being served incorrectly. What can improve at this restaurant is better customer service skills when it comes to serving customers. I felt like more could've been done to make sure we were satisfied and happy while dining at this restaurant. This was my first time visiting blueberry Field pancake, and my experience was not a great one.

I ordered the corned beef hash skillet, and it did not disappoint. I always appreciate when a restaurant makes their corned beef hash in-house--it makes a difference--and this one was full of flavor and served piping hot. It also came with a side of pancakes, which were some of the fluffiest I've ever had. One small touch I really appreciated was the variety of flavored coffee creamers available at the table. It's nice to have options beyond the usual half-and-half. A fun surprise: my food was delivered by a robot! My niece and I couldn't believe this was our first visit, especially after hearing so many great things. This place is incredibly popular, so I definitely recommend making reservations. After checking in, we waited less than five minutes and struck up a fun conversation with two lovely ladies who were also first-timers. It was the perfect start to the evening. The atmosphere is warm, lively, and inviting, with Mardi Gras beads and colorful carnival masks throughout the restaurant that give it so much character. Our server was fantastic. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but he was friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations made choosing from so many tempting options much easier. Now let's talk about the food... EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! To kick things off, I ordered the Creole Voodoo Zombie, and my niece had the Hurricane. Both cocktails were fantastic and set the tone for an amazing meal. My niece is an excellent cook herself and has dietary restrictions, so dining out can often be disappointing. That's what made this experience even more special--she genuinely loved every bite. We started with the crab cake appetizer and the BBQ shrimp appetizer, and both were packed with incredible flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the blackened ribeye, swapping the broccolini for the collard greens (worth the $3 upcharge!). The steak was perfectly cooked, and those collard greens were phenomenal. My niece chose the blackened red snapper étouffée, and she couldn't stop raving about it. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't leave without dessert. We shared the Mississippi Mud Turtle Brownie topped with marshmallow fluff and the strawberry shortcake. Our server suggested pairing the brownie with a butterscotch liqueur, and I'm so glad I took his recommendation--it was the perfect finishing touch and complemented the dessert beautifully. We've been talking about this meal ever since we left...and that's probably the biggest compliment I can give. In fact, we were so impressed that we made reservations for next weekend before we even left--and we're bringing two friends with us! Perfect for: Date nights, celebrations, or anytime you want a memorable meal that's worth planning ahead for. Maple Tree Inn absolutely lived up to the hype. 10/10--highly recommend!

My last visit was when they were still on Old Western Ave in Blue Island--way overdue for a return. Let's start with the food--absolutely delicious. For mains, we went with the Pitmaster's N'awlins Gumbo, Hickory Buttered BBQ Shrimp, and Burnt Ends. Every dish was spot on--flavorful, well-executed, and clearly made with care. The restaurant itself is pristine--clean, polished, and classy without feeling stuffy. Service was just as strong. Our server, Nick, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Safe to say, it will NOT be another 30 years before my next visit. Highly recommend.

They have a few parking spaces in the front of the building with a larger lot in the rear. It was not too crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server Michaela was very friendly and suggested a few food items for my wife which were GF. I started with the House Old Fashion and my wife had the Bee's Knees. Both were very good and cost 10.00 each. For lunch I tried their Pecan Whiskey BBQ wings. 5 wings cost 10.00. They were good size and very tasty but I didn't taste any of the Pecan Whiskey flavor. My wife had the Barbacoa Tacos which were filled with braised beef. She could only eat 2 of them so I had the third taco. Flavorful but I would have preferred more salsa or a dipping sauce. I wanted to try their Drop Dead Bourbon separately so I had a small tasting. I loved it so much I bought a bottle to bring home. Cost was 60.00. The history of this distillery dates back to 1857 and is one of Illinois' oldest standing distillerys and was once Al Capones largest bootlegging facility during prohibition. I would love to go back and try a few more of their hand crafted cocktails and one of their signature burgers.
