Came here for a breakfast burrito and it did not disappoint. For the price of only $10, I got a burrito big enough to share with another person. It was soooo big and hot right off the grill. Comes with a side of potato's or hashbrowns. I asked for them to be put inside the burrito. Such an amazing addition. Only critique is the hashbrowns weren't very crispy at all. As a whole it was a wonderful burrito in a small restaurant. Definitely recommend coming to support the people here! With a great price and portion to the food this well worth a try. read more

Got the southern skilet. It was delicous. Large skillet filled with bacon sausage, pepers onions potatos. The a single biscuit split withe gravy and 2 eggs. The biscuit was not from scratch but still tasted very good all together. The veteran staff was good checking in and making sure everything was good. My breakfast was; a Lansing Road Omelette I got it because it's unique to Dion's about the road this place is on. It was done nicely, presented nicely and tasted really good. I added a half order of Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, it was also really nice, thinner slices of biscuits maybe 4/4th inch by three inches round, and a good portion of gravy. My breakfast came with choices.. I chose hash browns instead of the hunk/cube variety and pancakes instead of toast. The omelette had chopped breakfast sausage, spinach and something else.. I forgot . The pancakes were about 5 inches wide and three stacked, with butter and warmed syrup. Everything was cooked very nicely and tasted really good. The portions were sort of large. Everything is getting 5 stars because Dion's is trying and succeeding to do things the right way. The service, server and seating/hostess staff were all professional giving the customer smiles and any help in menu questions. The cooks know how to cook a nice breakfast all around. Dion's is well kept and clean. The one and only nitpick would be the sound from other diners might get a little loud as there's a lot of hard surfaces but no sound proofing for that single dining room. That's an easy fix should Dion's choose to do so. The staff and quality food and menu make up for it. read more

We were visiting family nearby and we always order a big breakfast on Sunday mornings. Usually, they order from Maria's Pancake House, but today I was ordering from Uber Eats so I went with a breakfast place with higher rating, and that was Dion's. We ordered a lot of food! We tried three different skillets, an omelette, the 2X2X2 and a variety of sides and different add ins for the skillets. (Sausage patties, avocado, etc) We also ordered the eggs prepared three different ways. They nailed it! Everything was excellent and not one family member complained, which is rare unfortunately. We were greeted right away and the ambiance was okay a little small and quaint. We ordered Chicken and waffles, Denver omelette,and a Belgian waffle. There was a little wait for the food, but it was well worth it. My granddaughter said the chicken and waffles were delicious! The Belgian waffle was nice and crisp. I'm a total foodie that loves restaurants open for only breakfast and lunch, and close by 3PM. I read glowing reviews about Dion's Breakfast Cafe Restaurant so hopped in the car for the hour drive to Glenwood, IL. The restaurant is simply decorated , roomy and really clean. I ordered the salmon skillet, which was perfectly prepared. The cubed potatoes were nicely browned, a sauté of onions, peppers, and tomatoes were perfectly seasoned . And to my surprise, even the spinach leaves were fresh, still green and very tender. The generous portion ( probs about 6 oz) of salmon was delicate, tender, and clearly cooked cooked to order. All this was then covered with hollandaise. The 2 eggs, (sunnyside up with runny yolks) on top were the crowning touch. And check this out, a scoop of unsalted whipped butter for your toast ( or pancakes) instead of those single serving butter packets with the foil wrapper that's impossible to peel off! I will drive an hour for a place that uses quality, fresh ingredients, preps and cooks them perfectly, and is focused on good service. Excellent job Dion's. read more

Great place to come for breakfast. Came on a Saturday around 11:30am and they weren't too busy. We were greeted and sat in booth right away. The waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. When you sit down they bring water (and coffee) to the table right away. I stuck with the water and my mom got an iced tea. For breakfast I ordered the 2x2x2 with scrambled eggs and cinnamon apple french toast. I don't eat meat but there are no substitutions so I just gave the bacon to my mom. (Note: they don't have Turkey bacon just regular.) In the future it would be nice to have the option to sub meat for fruit or grits or something. There was a $2.99 up charge for the speciality French toast but it was worth it. The apples were warm, fresh and skinless. The French toast was thick and fluffy. Delicious. My mom wanted to build her own omelette and she was able to customize something she liked. She ordered it with diced potatoes and wheat toast. She really enjoyed it and the portion size was filling. The decor is cute on the inside. The single bathroom was clean and had a changing table for the babies. Our bill was $26. We had a great breakfast here and I will definitely be coming back. The restaurant is open daily from 6am-3pm. read more
