Gabriel's was an unexpected gem! I didn't know what to expect walking in, but I could tell it would be busy from the packed parking lot. When you walk in, it's split into two sections. There's a smaller bar area with seating and then a more spacious area at the bottom. We came on Friday so they had Karaoke. I loved the carefree vibe. Apparently they do Karaoke every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. We got a few drinks and the fried mushrooms. The food did take forever but it was expected with as busy as it was. And the bartenders were great at handling the crowd. If you're looking for a lowkey place with good drinks and food for an affordable price, I definitely recommend Gabriel's. **You can smoke inside here so if you're not into cigarettes, I would be mindful of that.

A very comfortable bar to have a drink and something to eat! We went on a Thursday, it was "bingo night".Everyone was pleasant. Our server was attentive. Very welcoming.

If you just want to have some fun, that's a good place to go. Decent food and prices. Attention: google maps shows it 100 meter off

Hands down the only bar I will spend my hard earned money at, and not just because it's the only bar I know in Hoover.

The staff was friendly and patient as I forgot my readers so a lot of questions were asked. Thank you Andreana. We had the tenderloin (which I haven't had in YEARS). I was not disappointed. We also had the southerner and it was tasty. They had a happy hour where I got a wine and husband got a frozen drink. Then round 2 I opted for the daily drink, daiquiri. Each day there is a different drink as a special. I enjoyed the music and the vibe. Would come back to this place when I'm in Birmingham again.

Seated immediately and ready to take your order as soon as you decide. The Standard Burger (Lettuce. tomato, onion, pickles, horsey sauce & american cheese) is really good. Fries are cooked just right. Previously I got a mix of the Fries and Onion Rings. Onion Rings are great too! I have had The Three Hander sandwich (Niman ranch corned beef, fries, tomato, jalapenos, creamy slaw, dijonaise, mozzarella on sourdough) from their original location which is great too. I should probably try other things as well but the lunch deal is hard to pass up. Since it is not too far from my office, will definitely continue to be a part of my regular lunch rotation. Only downside for me is the parking. There are limited spots on the street out front. Adjacent to the building there is a lot that is part of the apartment complex behind it but not really enough spaces for the 2 restaurants.

Because of the intense Alabama heat, we chose to sit inside, though they have a really nice screened-in patio available. The restaurant is intimate but well laid out, featuring a couple of distinct dining areas and a bar. Since it was our first time, our server, Daniella, recommended the candied bacon bombs to start. They came with a side of cheese curds, and both were absolutely delicious. Even as small as the curds were, they had a perfect cheese pull! For our mains, I ordered the cowboy burger with an added egg and a side of sweet potato fries, while my son chose the shrimp and grits. My burger was incredible, a solid 9.5 out of 10. My son rated his shrimp and grits a 7, though he has a lot of experience with that dish to compare it to. Daniella provided fantastic service, checking in at just the right times without hovering. I later realized I forgot to ask if they do anything special for birthdays, but honestly, my son was probably glad I forgot! Overall, it was a great meal, excellent service, and a very cool environment.

Cheese with turnip greens and smoked sausage. Yum! The candied bacon bombs were delicious too. The appetizers were enough to get me full but to go I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and my friend ordered the blackened chicken pasta. She said it was tasty but it needed more sauce. Overall this place was a 10/10. Lively with great staff really makes this place a gem. I will definitely be back.
