It was a nice experience and I hope to return for more events, including games! The arena is also situated in a great location with a large mall, parks, and restaurants nearby. The train station is located right outside the venue along with bus stops close by which should make it very accessible for people coming to visit.

The location is very convenient, right next to the subway and not far from Manhattan. The production was great, and most seats in the venue seem to offer a good view of the stage along with clear sound. Even from the upper bowl, we could still see the visuals well and feel the bass from the speakers. I'd imagine the floor is the best place to experience a show here, but overall there really aren't many bad seats in the house. The water fountains and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. There was also a strong security presence throughout the venue, so unfortunately sneaking into better sections wasn't really an option. The arena is also very accessible, with escalators and elevators available on every level. Overall, a solid venue for concerts and live events.

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ GREATTTTT stadium for a New Jersey Jackals baseball game! ++++ One of the last, remaining negro league stadiums in the country and it was beautifullllly renovated in 2023. + 10,000 seat stadium capacity is the perfect capacity for ideal viewing from ANY seat. + 2 concession stands/windows on the 1st base side - one that sells hot food & alcohol and the other sells dessert (ice cream, Italian ices) & snacks (popcorn, funnel cake). ++++ If you buy the ice cream, a small cup is more than enough for 1-2 people as they add 3 huge scoops of any flavors you want. AND, yes, you can add different flavors to your order! + Multiple restrooms reside on the main walkway. + Foul balls are plentiful and the probability of catching a foul/home run ball here are A LOTTT higher than at an MLB game. + Ticket prices to a game are RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP at $5-$10 per ticket and every ticket is general admission meaning you can sit ANYWHERE you want in the stadium. + Private (AND safe) parking garage adjacent to the stadium only charges $10 for parking. + There is a small merch store inside of the stadium that sells shirts, jerseys and other small team souvenirs. THE NOT SO GOOD ----------------------------- - Even though every seat provides great views, there is a running track between the stands and field, so there is a little bit of a distance from the action. - All seats inside are bleachers, so no support for our aging backs. - No outside food or beverages are allowed inside. - Concession stand prices are a bitttt steeper than anticipated ($10 for an average size hot dog, $10 for a hamburger, $12 for a cheeseburger) - The surrounding area, on the way to the stadium, is not the greatest/safest looking. MIXED THOUGHTS ---------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada. CONCLUSION -------------------- = We came here to watch a New Jersey Jackals game, on a beautiful Friday evening, as part of a kids' school night, and we couldn't have had a better time! The experience of watching a game here was refreshing and much more intimate than watching a game in an MLB stadium. Definitely a much more family-friendly environment since there is so much space for kids to roam around. Just wish the concession stand prices were a tad lower.

An historic stadium!…read more The stadium has been renovated and much of the physical history seems to be gone. The stadium is comfortable. We saw a Jackals game and had field level seats. The online ticket purchase msp and our seats were completely different. The seats themselves were comfortable and there was a table. The game photographers obstructed our view. There was no screen to protect from foul balls. The staff was helpful and parking was easy.

One of the best parts of the event was how they introduced the elite runners. They turned the lights off in the arena, announced each athlete individually, and they ran out onto the track with sparks shooting up. That whole presentation was fire and really made the moment feel special for the athletes and the crowd. The atmosphere was great and you could feel the excitement in the building. My only complaint is about some of the staff (not all). I had been sitting in a section for over four hours after being told by one worker that it was fine to sit there. Later on, a few other workers came over and told me I had to move. It wasn't even the request that bothered me--it was the way it was delivered. When you're dealing with adults, especially paying guests who've been there for hours, it's all about how you communicate. At one point it felt like they were all teaming up like Voltron instead of just getting a supervisor to clear things up. Situations like that can easily be avoided with better customer service and communication. Needless to say I didn't go anywhere until my daughter ran off the principal. Aside from that situation, the event itself was great. The competition, the energy in the building, and the way they highlight the elite athletes made it a really memorable experience.

The warmup area is way too small, so from the athlete's perspective, that made it very hard to prepare for the race. I ended up running laps outside with my athlete to get her warmed up, which many others were doing, so even that was hard. I get space is limited in NYC, but with 3 floors, they could have done a better job providing space for the athletes to prepare for their race. My runner lived the track itself, it was a great track.

During the 1950s, these athletic fields surrounded a complex of married student housing units. The address for this complex was 70 Central Avenue. The houses were quonset huts with corrugated metal roofs. In the summer, we threw punctured water hoses over our roof to keep it wet and to cool down the inside. Each quonset hut was divided in half, for use for two different families. The front door for each half resided at opposite sides of the quonset hut. The family occupying the other half of our quonset was the Anamunthado family from Bermuda. The inside of their home had a bad smell. My photographs show me, my mother, me and my sister at Halloween, one of my parties inside our quonset hut showing my friends from Edgewood Elementary School, and me and my sister inside the quonset hut wearing Davy Crockett hats. The athletic fields to the north were used for football practice, and I enjoyed viewing the large sleds with huge pads, where the pads were used for football players for shoving and pushing. Another athletic field was indoors, and this was an indoor polo field where students could ride horses and play polo. On a couple of occasions, I cut across the athletic field to the north on my way to school, and I crawled under the fence at the northeast corner of the field, but usually I took the sidewalk the entire way to Edgewood School. In one of my photos, you can see a girl (not a relative) wearing an Edgewood School shirt. In 1960, the quonset huts were torn down and we moved to Seattle.
