My daughter was spoke to sexually by a long time manager, Wally was the name the young employees used. She is seven and was told by this grown man that she would be made to kiss boys if she didn't walk across the beam right. When she started crying and stated she was uncomfortable he made fun of her and told her to get over it. A second mother also said her child was made to feel uncomfortable by this man. I told them I would be closely watching him from now on and that a man old enough to have grey hair should know better than to speak that way to a seven year old girl and then laugh at her uncomfortableness. Instead of handling him both of my children were kicked out of their facility by email instead of them making it a safe place. I suggest if you have daughters to ask them what Wally has been saying to them. read more

Recently went for a friends birthday party. Mentioned to the younger couch named Sadie that our youngest had autism. She didn't leave our side and was so sweet and kind to all the kids. Definitely want to come back just for that experience Sadie gave us! Give that girl a millions stars! read more

We came all the way from Texas for a camp with our coaches and the facility, staff and coaches have all been amazing. If we lived here I would absolutely love to have my daughter come here. read more

My kids have gone to Bump City several times but this year we decided to host 2 birthday parties here. They were GREAT! The staff handled setup and break down so I just had to bring cake. They even provided balloons and goodie bags for the partygoers. All the parents got to sit back and relax while the kids were led through play down in the huge gym. Trampolines, a climbing wall, big slides,... there's so many play options. Bump City is a great way to spend an afternoon/evening and I can absolutely recommend them for party hosting. read more

History

Established in 1979.

Dragon Gymnastics Team, under the direction of internationally recognized Al Fong and 2007 World Team Assistant Coach Armine Barutyan-Fong, is one of only a few gymnastics organizations in the country with the ability to provide training that leads young women to national and international competition. Since 1979, Dragon Gymnastics has upheld its reputation as one of the finest gymnastics training organizations in the world by producing countless state, regional, national and world champions. Many of these champions become USA national team members as well as recipients of full scholarships to major universities. There is also Olympic success & recognition as athletes have gone on to represent the USA at the 2004 Summer Games in Athens Greece USA Olympic Women's Gymnastics silver medalists Terin Humphrey and Courtney McCool have come to exemplify the renowned Dragon training approach, while Ivana Hong was selected as an alternate to represent USA at the '08 Olympics in Beijing.

The teams each have a coach, and t-shirts, and practices and etc... solid, professional, kids leagues. BVAC also offers adult sports, like kickball! Some of the soccer parents I know are on the kickball league and it seems pretty fun! I'll definitely check it out sometime! But anyway, the fields are always well kept, no litter, cut grass. There are bleachers on most of the fields for parents, but a lot of people bring their own chairs. I THINK there are 5 fields. Obviously some are smaller or larger for different teams. But if you live in the Independence area and have kids, take them by some Saturday and see if they'd be interested. :)

They are pros at what they do, detail oriented, and make sure you're having fun in the process. My 7 year old niece and 3 year old nephew takes gymnastics there now and I couldn't be happier with the focus and discipline they're getting when it comes to the classes at Xtreme. You get to visit twice on the pogo pass, but each time you get 10 credits, each for 15 pitches. So you can hit the ball 150 times each time. For a newbie, I felt like that was a lot! Because there were a lot of kids participating today, we had about 20 minute wait times between turns (you can only use 2 credits at a time before rotating out). It would be way better when it's less busy. They do have bats and helmets to use. And just know: you have to clean up your own balls at the completion of your turn, and reload the pitching machines accordingly. Wasn't hard though! What a great option for a rainy or super hot day!
