I would give the fried chicken and rice a 5 stars. Love the subtle ginger flavor of the seasoned rice. The fried chicken isn't crispy but juicy and flavorful. It reminds me of the Chinese take out fried chicken wing flavor. The truffle fries weren't great. It didn't have a strong truffle flavor. It tasted more like peanut oil to me. The ranch dip tasted like mayo--I would choose another dip next time for French fries. The soup is free with the meal-- extremely salt and tasted like white pepper. I stopped by here since I was in the area. I was so happy this location opened up :) I've heard of Gai chicken in NYC and bummed I couldn't go the last time I was in NYC. You order through the screens and the food comes out pretty quickly. I ordered the dark meat chicken (Khao mon gai) rice meal which comes with a side salad (meh didn't care for it) and some sauces. I also ordered a side of the marinated Thai bbq chicken. Both chicken had a lot of flavor. I especially like the spice blend on the Thai bbq chicken. Very good! I didn't care for the soup that comes with it. It was tangy for some reason? The rice was fragrant with garlic and paired very well with the chicken. Gai Chicken & Rice is a fast casual order-at-the-kiosk type restaurant that's primarily for take out. We almost always go straight for the Roasted Chicken Bowl (which comes with ginger rice and a 'salad') or the Roasted Chicken Plate (which comes with 1 side). It's such a unique combination of flavors that you can't get easily in the area that isn't overly greasy or one note. The service, while somewhat introverted at times, is always friendly and they're always willing to answer questions, which my introverted side certainly prefers myself. This is a franchised location so this issue is out of their control, but I wonder sometimes if they made the menu more complicated than there has to be. There are a lot of different pathways to order food with the seemingly same options. I wonder if they'd get more success if they treated it like a Chipotle where you picked your protein (broiled chicken vs. roasted vs. fried vs. wings), pick your 1-2 sides, and call it a day. Anyway... The things nobody talks about: - Restrooms: There's a single occupancy restroom - Accessibility: It's all wheelchair accessible - Seating: Ok, it's very limited. There are two rows of tables, each 'row' accommodating four people on each side, but you'd be hard pressed to have people on both sides eat. While they aren't busy enough to make this a problem, you should be prepared to do take out if needed. - Will it fill you up? It depends. In most cases, yes, but some items (looking at you Roasted Chicken Plate), by default, might leave you hungry if you only selected that single side. - Dietary Notes: Gai in Cherry Hill is a franchised location (I think) versus the mothership Gai in NYC. That means the menu online may not match with what's available in Cherry Hill so if you really want to know what you're trying, be sure to 'Order Online' at CHL and read that menu first. This place is really good. Their thai style friend chicken and rice is delicious and definitely hits the spot when I'm craving this dish. I love the soup that comes with the chicken and rice dish too. The one aspect I don't love is they are very skimpy on the sauce. The tiny sauce is not enough for me to eat with my rice. First visit to Gai Chicken & Rice in Cherry Hill, NJ. Gotta say, our Roast Chicken & Rice and Fried Chicken with Thai Spicy Sauce were both the cat's pajamas. Great flavor, perfect texture and chewability. That ginger rice when dripped with the chicken juices on top was delectable. The fat tenders weren't crispy, but offered enough resistance to make it a fun chomp, and the dark red amber sauce poured over it all was just the right subtle sweet hot punch in the mouth. Almost addictive. The shop is primarily takeout. Order at the two monitors and everything is ready in minutes. Service comes with a smile and answers to any questions are freely given. For comparison, I think this roast chicken is better that what is offered by Costco. Definitely, more flavorful, with the blackened skin a secret delight. I became a regular after discovered this place. Taste and texture have changed. Though, my 1 star is for the business service. Long story short - no one is willing to help about their rewards program before they ended it and I need to redeem before I can no longer do - whether it be on site staff, inquiries via online submission, asking for managers, everyone shrugged their shoulders. Been 3 times since they opened, each time the food is great. There's self service ordering tablets to the left so you don't even have to talk to anyone. The tenders are worth the price, they are big and juicy. The fried and roasted chicken both good, same with the sauces. The soup is a little too peppery so I skip that now. Got takeout and it did not disappoint! We tried the Nashville hot chicken and boi is it spicy, but so delicious and crunchy! Yes even with a 15 min drive back it still had a nice bite on the outside while being juicy on the inside. Discovered Gai by accident so my husband and I decided to try it. We both ordered the roasted chicken and rice. This comes with a salad on the side and some spicy sauce. Just like one reviewer said this place is primarily take out with two long tables and a few chairs. If you decide to dine in, your food comes in a take away plastic food container. The roasted chicken was tasty and juicy. It goes really well with the rice and salad. I order the soup as well but it had very little taste. The two meals without drinks cost us $27.62. Youre not really BOGO as its almost the same price. Maybe 2 bux off if you ordered two roasted chix bowls. Just thought that was a lil misleading. Now to the important stuff. The chicken itself is really tender. The spicy green sauce has a nice kick to it. The flavors are all there. Its a good meal. I'd recommend trying it for sure. But just don't do the BOGO....unless youre gonna order two meals anyways. Youre better off just ordering one and paying full price than thinking youre getting a deal with BOGO and paying 22.95 and once all the fees etc youre paying quite a bit more than you would expect to pay. read more

Service is deplorable, and the clerk at the register is the same one preparing and cutting your food. I have observed them lacking poor hygiene when cutting the chicken. The ambiance seems to be one of selling fast and as much as possible for a quick profit, evidenced by their FRAUD practice when the buy one gets one free offer is in place. They jack up the price for a chicken and rice platter to $23, typically costing you $14, so you're saving 2 dollars instead of getting a free item of the same class. I don't expect anything to be free in this life, but if you're making sales stating you're doing buy one get one free, dammit, don't do stupid things like this thinking people won't notice. I'm reporting you for fraud to Uber Eats, the Better Business Bureau, and any other institutions that will take the claim. I've spent nearly USD 600 buying chicken and rice from you in the past few months and only noticed the pattern. You'll get a lovely review like this one everywhere I can find your dishonest business! I inquired and all the young man could say was it was tax,which is hysterical.
