This was our first visit to Pinto Thong, and the food was excellent! We ordered the crispy chicken wings with the sweet chili sauce on the side, Thai fried rice with vegetables, and dumplings. The wings were cooked to crispy perfection, the vegetables in the rice tasted incredibly fresh, and everything was full of flavor. I usually add soy sauce to fried rice, but this rice was so flavorful that it didn't need anything. The Thai iced coffee was sweeter and milkier than I prefer; I would have liked a stronger coffee flavor. However, the food was absolutely delicious, and we will definitely be back! read more

My son never had Thai food, so I wanted him to! I found this tiny gem a mere 8 minutes from home. He had a spicy red curry soup with chicken, and absolutely loved it! My daughter had chicken Pad Thai and soup. She liked it but even better when she mixed it up. I thoroughly enjoyed my Singapore noodles with shrimp; I held all vegetables except the zucchini and onions. We all flipped for the sticky rice!!! It was so carboliciously tasty!!! Our Pad King was also overloaded with carrots and for one of us tasted like dirty water. The Crab Rangoons were excellent except that one of the 4 was split open and burned in the oil. Decent Thai takeout. In March they will no longer allow indoor dining--they only have two tables though so I'm not sure it's an big deal. Grabbed takeout on my way home from a visit to South Jersey. Green papaya salad was fresh and tasty. No dried shrimp, which isn't a problem for me. It wasn't terribly spicy. Tom yum was spicier than I expected for "mild-medium." It was good, with lot of mushroom and big chunks of firm tofu. The broth was sour in the best way. Massaman curry was good but pretty spicy (ordered it HOT) but not too much so. We were very surprised by our lunch at Pinto Thong. The restaurant is in an older and nondescript strip mall. It doesn't look like much from the outside. However, upon entering Pinto Thong it is a pleasant, attractive, clean and simple space with seating for about 30 patrons. Pinto Thong had a good selection of lunch special menu items that all came with either a salad or the soup of the day. My lunch partner and myself both chose the soup of the day. I don't know what it was called but it was outstanding. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken which is my measuring stick for Thai restaurants. Pinto Thong's version was not the best Pad Thai I have ever tried but it was still very good. We also shared the Thai fried rice with chicken. We both thought the flavors at Pinto Thing were more refined then our usual go to Thai places. We finished off our lunch with the fried banana and ice cream dessert. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We really liked Pinto Thong and will return again soon. I just moved form Philly so I have been very spoiled with food. Anyways, I got the fresh rolls with shrimp and pad kee mow. The rolls Weren't wrapped right and immediately fell apart bc they studded them with so much lettuce. Resulting in my roll just all over my plate ....There was zero Thai basil in them which is unusual for Thai rolls. That made me sad! Pad kee mow was not the best ive had, but was good. Pinto Thong is a small little hidden gem. It's located in a tiny strip mall not too far from Cherry Hill. My family and I decided to dine in and it's a super tiny restaurant. There's only a handful of tables; the majority of the business here seems to be takeout. Regardless, the service here was incredibly kind and attentive for the table service. We ordered the fried tofu and chicken wings for appetizers - the peanut and Thai chili sauce was what made these dishes delicious. I ordered the Penang curry - super creamy, rich and sweet curry broth. They were generous with their meat and veggie servings too. Overall, this is a really great spot for Thai food in the area! My only complaint is that they don't offer tap water here. They only allow you to buy bottled water or other beverages from their fridge section. read more

I was seated right away, there were a couple other tables eating and then during the meal I noticed people came in and out with takeaway orders. Service is good, the menu is normal Thai food and done pretty well. I got a starter and then green curry. I liked, but not loved all of it. I thought it was pretty standard Thai food, so I guess I would describe this "as expected". For some reason I just didn't get super excited. Ordered Thai food here based on rating recommendations, and also suggested to another family who also ordered. We had The pad thai with chicken, green curry with chicken, fried rice with pork. What we picked up was sweet pad thai with noodle clumps that was really sweet. The green curry was like tapioca sweet and not even "greenish" with green paste. The fried rice was with chicken instead of pork and was really sweet! The other family that we ordered got red curry with chicken, pad Thai, and chicken friend rice. Their red curry looked exactly like our green curry and was really sweet. It seemed like they made 1 large order of curry and split it in half calling each green and red. We both ate some of the dishes but threw out the rest. The cooking was authentic. It was more like cheap Chinese take out with some extra spices to it. read more

It's funny but we so often here that to be successful in business it's all LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! And, that old adage may be true more often than not but here's hoping that Pinto Thong Thai Cuisine, which is not located in the best of locations succeeds because of the incredible food they are plating for diners who enjoy Thai food. I found Pinto Thong in the middle of a traffic jam with my eyes glimpsing a sign "grand opening Thai" well that's all I could see because the guy behind me started honking and apparently thought I was number one based on what I saw in my rear view mirror. I filed the location away because I have been frustrated in the lack of a good Thai eatery in the Deptford area. I have no idea what was in this location before but the Pinto Thong's owners have worked hard to cover up the past in their small dining area. The music of Siam fills the room and the requisite Buddha sits on the floor near the cash register. No, it's not eloquent but it's nice and we were welcomed with a warm smile. Although I don't need the guidance, I found the menu featuring color photo's of each choice a really smart decision that can be encouraging to those who are just starting to try Thai. The menu choices are not extensive but there are plenty of choices to make diners happy at reasonable prices. The waitress was extremely helpful in identifying which of the kitchen's selections have a spicy edge to them that at least one in our group needed to know about since she needs mild, mild, mild. We opted for the appetizer sampler to start things off ... the four sauces served with it were OH SOOOOOOO GOOD and incredibly fresh! The crispness of the veggies and the goodness of the varied taste sensations in each sauce was proven by the fact that each sauce bowl was empty once the appetizers were finished (I was tempted to just dip my finger in but thought that might not be appropriate.). The only flaw in this round were the spring rolls that were fried a bit too long creating a hard edge but they still tasted great. I went for one of the TOM soup ... the YUM not the KHAA. As the soup was being carried to the table its wonderful aroma had me reaching for a spoon to get right to it. It was colorful as it should be ... full of veggies and two perfectly cooked large shrimp but ... and this is not a shot at PINTO THONG as much as at Thai restaurants in general ... the mushrooms were those little white guys you see at every grocery store rather than the called for specialty mushroom like a shiitake. Yes, I know this saves money but those capped off mushrooms just take away from what is truly a delicious soup. Our three entrees were truly spectacular! The vivid colors of properly prepared vegetables blended in each choice's unique sauce ranging from a mild Massaman curry to the heat of my PAD choice. There were three smiling diners on this Sunday afternoon savoring each bite of delicious Thai food. When we were finished eating ... the chef/owner came out to ask how we enjoyed our meal. He was smiling ... we were smiling ... a job well done. So, it is my hope that potential diners won't be driven away because of the looks of this plaza but instead will see Wendy's on one side and real Thai food right next door. This warm welcoming couple living out their dream will be waiting to serve them! I know that their food and care for customers far exceeds the next Thai restaurant down the road that is more eloquent but serving food that is eh with service that is founded in the cold shoulder. Right across the street from my favorite, Forman Mills, is a stripmall with Pinto Thong Thai. I am so glad I gave it a try! Wow! Fresh, beautiful ingredients. Taste was spot on for the traditional favorites I ordered. Portions were double what I get at my favorite Thai place back home, but yet still a buck or two cheaper per dish. I couldn't finish my dinner, there was so much! My picky 1yo ate quite a bit of everything, and was content! Happy baby, happy mom! My Drunken Noodle had a typical medley of crisply steamed veggies, with gorgeous flat noodles, all perfectly cooked, and sauce/seasoning was just right, no extra gook at the bottom, no oil junk anywhere. Chicken was lean and all meat with no weird parts to annoy you. It was just great. I was even happy at how easily I could cool it off to feed my son. The Sticky Rice was HUGE. A full mango in two halves, with two sticky rice mounds, sesame seeds, sweet sauce, and a strawberry shaped into a flower. Thoughtful presentation, especially for takeout. Hands down, the best Thai food in Greater Philadelphia. My husband and I have been patrons of this hidden gem since we moved here 2.5 years ago. We get take out from here at least once a month, but up to once a week. The food is consistently delicious and a reliably impressive meal to serve to guests when we are in a pinch. Tried Pinto Thong last night because of their strong Yelp rating & it certainly didn't disappoint. I have one suggestion for them, get a website, use Yelp or your Facebook page & post your menu, please!!! I've been in the area for 18 years, I'm a restaurant professional, and I want nothing more than for this place to succeed. The food was excellent, it's a much needed change of pace for this area. I don't do chains or fast food, so it's about time we're treated to the fresh, clean flavors of Thailand! Curry was excellent, as was the Crispy Duck Pad Thai. Safe to say I was pleasantly surprised by Pinto Thong's dishes and menu selection. I ended up getting the duck fried rice because of all the rave in the reviews and it definitely didn't disappoint. I'm a very picky eater and I love Thai food, so it wasn't easy to find a really good Thai restaurant that can fulfill my expectations. We ordered: - Crab Rangoon $5.95 - just okay. - Pad Kratiem with Chicken $12.95 - my husband ordered this. He liked it. I thought it was just okay. - Pad Thai with Chicken $11.95 - huge portion. I asked for dry and thai spicy version, but came out pretty wet. The dish still tastes good. Not the best I've had, but not bad either.
