Came here on the recommendation of a friend about a month ago. The food was delicious, service was excellent. Our server very friendly, patient, and helpful in picking our selections. I returned again with a large group a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely experience. The restaurant was quiet with just a few tables occupied. Very spacious. I assume they do a lot pick up and delivery, because the food was too yummy not to be that busy inside. Will definitely return! ***PS. To give you a hint at why these stars are shining ... all three of us mid-meal were saying that each of us would get the same meal next time we come to eat here. Although I will admit the massaman curry that my daughter enjoyed had one of the best massaman sauces I have ever sampled. Now here is a warning because in the times we live in all too many people want to rush. The wait staff consisted of a wonderful older woman who moved at her pace. If the restaurant had been crowded I'm sure she would have been stressed to the max. She was soft spoken but she took good care of us. There might be a language challenge, which would explain one of the recent reviews but if you are kind kindness will come back to you. Each table has a small simple sign that says 'If you like the food tell someone. If you don't tell us. " So, I'm telling you ... GOOD FOOD! I'm always on a hunt for really really good panang curry and this spot was... spot on. Inside it's classy and clean, and the staff took excellent care of our table. Their version of panang was noticeable for its big chunky vegetables - to some, that may be a turn off, but I loved it. There was plenty of chicken in the dish, and it was a generous enough serving that I was able to spread it out over three different meals. Silky smooth curry sauce with just the right hit of heat. Lost a longtime customer today. I miss the older lady who use to be here. We came to dine in. I asked the girl working about the difference between two salad's she couldn't explain just said it comes with chicken and shrimp. I said no I don't want that I don't eat meat. So I asked for a different salad. I also ordered the coconut soup with Tofu. She comes and sets a salad down and I asked my husband what's this thinking he ordered it. Then I thought it belonged to the people behind me because it was meat in it. My husband and I are pescatarian. He ordered shrimp rolls and fantasy salmon. We called for the waitress and this idiot had the nerve to get mad and try to get loud and argue with me over her own misunderstanding. Saying why didn't I tell her, you didn't tell me you no meat, and as I tried to politely explain I did that's why I ordered soup with Tofu, she kept talking over me. She took the salad back begrudgingly. When she came out my husband called her over and asked for the check. You don't argue and try to get loud with your customer over a mistake especially a $10 salad when we were about to spend wayyyyyy more than that. Plus we normally tip 20% here because we loved the food and service from our past visits. In the end we decided we would take our business elsewhere. I will not spend money where I have to argue unnecessarily about my food. I also want to clarify she brought the salad out with our appetizer (shrimp rolls) the bill we paid was for the shrimp rolls only. Upon further reflection I will also say this, your longevity as a customer doesn't matter here, nor does your reviews as they do not care if you leave good or bad ones. You would think if an employee came back to the kitchen saying something went wrong and then came back to the kitchen to cancel the whole entire order that you are in the middle of preparing a smart business owner or manager would step out to see what the issue was. This could have easily been resolved with an apology but again it's obvious they don't care. Just WOW! We like to do foodie road trips (small plates from numerous restaurants) and included this on our recent tour. We ordered the chicken sate and cheese rolls. The chicken was AMAZING! Grilled kabob style with a coating that reminded me of massaman curry. A peanut dipping sauce and side salad with an fantastic honey dressing was also included. The meat was so tender and the sauces just wow! The cheese rolls were a soft cheese, unlike say a mozzarella stick, with such an amazing flavor and texture. They're deep fried and were super hot (temp), so be careful. They, too, came with a dipping sauce. Just an incredible experience. We will return for the full menu at a later time. Especially this year with the struggling small businesses, just seems like we need to be more understanding but yikes this place. my family has been coming here for years - super close to our house and thus very convenient. it's not the best thai i've had but it's fairly decent. we went for lunch the other day, during non rush hours and after one couple left, we were the only ones in the restaurant. the lady brought out our food. we realized we wanted to share something and needed two bowls which we asked for to which we received a scowl and were questioned why we needed the bowls. i've never really had this happen to me when asking for something at a restaurant. it was just very rude behavior and really put a damper on our mood the rest of lunch. read more

Great portions for a good price. Their menu has a variety of options. We got the coconut shrimp, Thai iced tea, green curry, shrimp Pad Thai, and mango sticky rice. Random find driving home to the hotel. Huge huge portions. I ate until I was stuffed and it barely looks like I even made a dent in the dish. I got the pad see ewe with chicken. The chicken is sliced thin, white meat and tender. What I love about this restaurant is that they included plenty of veggies, which is rarely in a Thai dish. Not really authentic but I am grateful. Veggies were carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, and baby carrots. Noodles were soft and flavorful from the sauce. Be warned they are closed on Monday. But definitely do stop by between Tuesday to Sunday and you won't be disappointed. read more

I decided to get a lunch take out from this place after reading some good reviews on Yelp. I got myself an order of Drunken Noodle lunch set. It comes with a choice of soup and appetizer. I chose Tom Yum Soup and Thai Spring Roll. The lunch set costs $8.95, which good price. Without the set it would have cost me $6.95. Spring Roll Appetizer - only comes 1 piece with lunch set. Taste wise is pretty average. Tom Yum Soup - comes in an extra small plastic container. The soup needs more flavor/spices. It wasn't sour enough to be considered as a Tom Yum Soup. Drunken Noodle - I asked for a Thai spicy, but my noodle came out with burn flavor. Overall it tastes pretty sweet, not a good combination of hot, sweet, salty that you usually get from Drunken Noodle. It's not my favorite. But I would come again to try another item in the menu. A beautiful sunny afternoon and easy work day had me get lucky as husband asked to go out for lunch second day in a row.. Asian food is our weakness and something we can eat everyday. We wanted to try a new place so looked up yelp and based on the reviews we decided to try Bangkok city as a lotta veggie options were available. It's a tiny cute hole in the wall place at a strip mall but don't let that matter. It was clean and well kept. Most of The tables were laid out and it was pretty much empty besides another couple. We chose and walked up to a table of four but then came the cute old lady who manages/owns the place and asked us to move to the smaller table for two. I'm wondering how it would matter as it's empty anyway. Well just as we settled, another couple and a group of four walked in. They seemed regulars as the lady knew them. Soon after our mats and cutlery was laid out by her and our table wasn't set. We were given the lunch menus. She came back in 5 and asked if we were ready to order. I chose the cheese roll with mock crab meat for my appetizer and the glass noodle soup with veggies. A green curry with veggies and white rice was my entree option. My husband chose the veg spring roll and Tom yum soup and the veg drunken noodles. The lady checked in our spice levels and while the waiting game started we heard our tummies rumble. I don't really have experience w/ Thai food (only have been to it once prior YEARS ago plus Pei Wei (does that count?!!) but loved my entree last night here. My dish was called 'Jungle King' and boasted plenty of nicely cooked vegetables and shrimp & chicken plus brown rice (I behaved and didn't get yummy unhealthy white!). The sauce was a 'golden curry' and I got as much of it that I possibly could with my spoon once my food was gone! I LOVED the nice flavor (kind of coconut'ty). Vince had the (full) duck over vegetables and pineapple. It was pretty good - nothing to diss the restaurant just not my choice - I don't 'do' duck and the sauce was too strong for me (I'm a spice wus!) I can't boast enough about this popular Thai place, and coming here for their lunch special is such a great deal (8$)! The food is authentic, delicious and there's minimal-no MSG added. The lunch special comes with: appetizer, soup/salad, and a main entree. Today I ordered: tofu tod, tom yum soup with tofu/veggies and chicken panang, for my entree. Tom yum soup is delicious, and a staple food item I'd always get; it's a great mix of sour and savory! Tofu tod is crispy outside with soft tofu inside. The panang came out great! My friend got the coconut shrimp, chicken tom yum, and shrimp pad thai. I have to say, the pad thai is made to perfection. I like how the pepper flakes are on the side to allow you to mix in the amount to taste, for the right level of spicyness. Service is quick and great! read more

If I could rate the experience zero, then I would have. First, the older woman who claimed to be the manager was very rude. First, the two cups of water that she placed on the table contained some floating debris, so we used our bottled water instead. Second, she refused to give us an extra fork, and insisted on a spoon. Third, she was talking with another group of customers in an informal/non-professional capacity for an extended period of time, ignoring her duty to attend on our table and neglecting to provide the serving of Thai peppers which was supposed to come with our meals. Our food became cold, while she continued to chat with the other group of customers for her own entertainment, sharing her private moments with the other customers using her phone and virtually showing her backside to us. We had to call her over to our table several times before she attended to us, and then she brought a very small amount of Thai peppers (compared to the usual), certainly not enough for even half of the meal. When she was asked for the manager, she claimed she was the manager, and was defensive about her poor behavior and attempted to justify it as being busy with her "friends." As the food became cold, we asked for carry out boxes, but then she refused to provide enough carry out boxes to hold the entire amount of remaining food, stating it cost money. Then she refused to provide a small container for the peppers to carry out and stated that she did not have it, which I doubt because they had provided it in the past. When finally did provided the carry-out box, the lid was filthy, and upon confronting her, she admitted that it was her greasy fingerprint. Additionally, after placing the carry-out container on our table for a while, she replaced it with another one (upon our request), but apparently recirculated the take-out box from our table for use to other customers. We certainly did not feel that it was healthy or safe to eat there. We ultimately decided to leave after paying for our meals and went to another Asian restaurant nearby, which was far superior. read more

Not being from this area I am hesitant in going up to 4 stars for this decent Thai joint. That being said I would possibly come here again unless locals could provide me with better nearby options. The interior is very clean and decorated with various trappings that are commonly found in Thai restaurants. My biggest surprise were the signs on each table that stated" tell others if you like us, tell us if you don't". This seemed to show a desire to satisfy the customer. Due to the late hour of our arrival and the fact that we weren't starving, salads, apps and soups were not sampled. On a future visit these will be on our agenda. Trish did not want anything fried, and with more than half the menu featuring them had to really search for her choice. It was called Jungle King, a somewhat Masaman curry sauce with sautéed shrimp and chicken. It was also loaded with fresh veggies. I tasted the shrimp and it was good. The sauce was toned down and a bit watery for a curry, but overall a decent flavor, and one that was definitely of a Thai chef's hand. My choice was a duck dish(Elegant duck)that was deep fried and came with a thicker peanut based sauce that had some chili oil added to provide a bit more umph. I loved the sauce and copious veggies, but the duck with bone in was a bit messy and a bit overdone. Even though I love crispy duck, if no dishes contained just the breast, I would opt for a red or green curry on my next visit. I am a huge fan of Thai food, and would go as far as to say it may be my favorite cuisine, certainly my favorite Asian one. Based on my visits to other spots in my area, this one was not quite 4 star worthy, but going in the right direction. I have been coming to this place about once a month for the past 3 years. I've always been polite, always tip, and have never complained (even when there were a few times I could have). Tonight I went to call in an order after a 14 hour day at work. The owner picked up and I asked to place an order. I was planning to order a few of my usual entrees and wanted to try one entree that I've never had before. I simply asked the owner one question about a particular entree and she snapped back at me saying "I'm busy and don't have time to explain the entire menu to you, so if you want something just tell me now." It was such an unexpected, abrasive, and uncalled for remark. I had ONE question about ONE entree. In the time that it took her to give that snarky answer, she could have just answered my question. And it was the tone of her voice that was so off putting. I get it, maybe she was having a busy day and was stressed, but it was completely uncalled for to speak to me so rudely. Very watery. Should be thicker. Not happy. Pad prik - no taste to this stir fry dish. Eatable. Coconut custard - Re-heat from freezer. Not worth the order. We had a delicious meal at Bangkok City - everything was great. For our appetizers, hubby got spring rolls which were hot and crispy and came with a sweet dipping sauce. I had the coconut shrimp appetizer which was also delicious. The shrimp were perfectly fried and were coated in a generous amount of coconut. This came with a sweet sauce that contained peanuts. For our entrees, hubby got the Sweet & Sour Fish which was a generous serving and had a lot of fresh veggies and large wedges of pineapple. He said it was very good. I got the shrimp pad thai and it too was delicious. It had just the right balance of noodles, shrimp, peanuts and bean sprouts (some restaurants overdo it on the bean sprouts but they had just the right amount here). I also got a Thai Iced Tea which was perfect and not too sweet. Service was friendly and efficient, although they didn't check to see how we liked the food or offer drink refills. This is a clean, modest, fairly non-descript restaurant in a strip center with about 10 tables. We had our meal on a Saturday around 3:30 and it was so peaceful and quiet in the restaurant. They had nice New Agey/Asian music playing and I felt like I could have meditated. By the time we left, around 4:45 p.m., it was getting more busy and noisy. Prices are reasonable. Appetizers were mostly in the area of $6 and most entrees were in the range of $10-$15. Our check, including a 20% tip, came to $54.00. We will definitely return again. read more

The only real issue I have is in a noodle dish, there should be noodles!!! The lunch combo was reasonably priced, but the spring rolls had no spice (this is thai food- the favors should be apparent) and the thai salad made me wished they had/knew how to make papaya salad. Before hitting up a movie at the Rave, my bf and I really wanted Thai. Or I should say I really wanted Thai. I was disappointed to find out that on Sunday, they open at 3pm and do not serve lunch. So we had to wait until after the movie to try this gem in Voorhees. I thought there food was really good. The mango drink was good but I have been spoiled by Indian mango lassis to the point where other mango drinks are just not on the same level. We got the cheese rolls for our appetizer. If you think crispy spring rolls you can understand what they look like. They had a cream cheese mixture inside and was served with a sweet plum sauce. My boyfriend got the mee siam with beef. Pretty tasty. I got the vegetable drunken noodles. They were amazing. I devoured them all, no need for a take out box it was so good. I would definitely go back here again.
