I absolutely love Gaja Korean BBQ. I grew up with Korean friends, played Sunday golf with a few Korean elders and lived in Garden Grove Koreatown area. So needless to say, I've had my share of home cooked Korean meals, as well as eaten at many different Korean food and Korean BBQ restaurants. I love how conveniently located it is to my home and the great service I've always enjoyed. From the host, to the wait and bus staff.

Hi Foodie Family come check out @gajakbbq in Oceanside is bringing the Wagyu way to AYCE! Indulge in their Wagyu menu with buttery cuts, juicy scallops, flavorful meats, and all the delicious banchan that complete the Korean BBQ experience. It's a rare kind of feast you'll want to grill again

My friends and I came on Father's Day. It was all our first times. The quality of the meat was great. For appetizers though, the seafood soon dubu jigae was the best I ever had. The flavor was 10/10! Not too salty and just overall so comforting. The popcorn chicken was the best too. Unlimited wagyu! The portion sizes though to meal was a bit small. also, when you order you have to order through an iPad. I didn't like that. I felt like it took longer to get food. Service overall was pretty good for it being Father's Day. This place is about 30 minutes away from where I live so it's a little bit far but if you're in the area, definitely check this place out.

I had really high hopes for this place because ribeye was on the menu. This place was ok. F O O D Meat quality was subpar imo. We got the $32/pp AYCE. Yes, they have ribeye, but it was choice vs prime and tasted dry even when I pulled it off the grill at medium rare. We tried their brisket and it also tasted avg overcooked, undercooked, just not tasty. Finger meat was ok too. I thought the best meat was the short ribs, but they're marinated and so much of the meat taste was masked. Their popcorn chicken was good, but you don't get AYCE to eat popcorn chicken. I liked that they had corn cheese in a little aluminum container to cook on the grill. And their sides were pretty generous, esp when we asked for more. D R I N K S You pay for drinks. Most of it was bottled non-alcoholic, and some beer was on tap. S E R V I C E Service was fine. Our server was nice and did her job. We just felt like a number more than a guest. Even if we became regulars, it feels like this place would never get to know us and give us extra care. My kiddo liked the robots that helped the server bring the dishes though. TLDR; I'm still a fan of the other kbbq place in the area.

The server changed the grill often so no burnt meat!

Super great lunch deal! Probably the most affordable I've seen for KBBQ with a decent selection and good quality meat. The ventilation was also great for a KBBQ place which made the environment much more enjoyable than I usually find KBBQ. The server was great and changed our grill very quickly and often. Our kids also loved the little robots that brought the food and made service quicker.

We wanted to end our San Diego trip with a feast. After some searches on Yelp, we decided to have an AYCE Korean BBQ in Oceanside before heading north. The reservation was made through Yelp, and we just needed to check in when we arrived at the venue. Inside was quite spacious with seating for 100+ guests. Besides the standard dining area with tables, there were also a complete bar and a party room with stage. Each table had its own exhaust hood and it worked quite well. But I still recommend not wearing fancy apparel for your visit since BBQ smell and smoke may cling to the clothing. The orders were placed through the tablets on the corner of each table and delivered through cute robot carts. Maximum of 6 items per round. Once started, the food kept coming... brisket, ribeye, bulgogi, shrimp, calamari, chicken, oyster, pork belly and much more. All foods were quite fresh, and the marinated ones were nicely seasoned. Each table also came with a set of replenishable Korean banchan side dishes. After 45 minutes and many empty plates later, we were beyond full and ready to call it a day. The price was quite reasonable and the foods were great. Highly recommended.

Thr ambiance is nice when you walk in. The service here is top notch. Christine was our server and she was attentive and friendly. We went for lunch and the quality of every item we got was fresh. This spot is worth the lunch price and I hope they keep it this way.

We drove all the way from LA to try this place out and it was definitely worth it! I loved everything about this place. I really like that you aren't being hit with all the smoke from the grills the moment you walk in. I've been to a couple where the smoke from the grills are all in your face and it gets stuffy inside. This place has the proper ventilation so that none of that happens, it's clear as day inside and very breathable. Inside is spacious with very nice and good lighting. They even have a bar area in the middle which I thought was cool. There is even a cute room that has a red neon sign with cute decor for some cool pictures. I like that you order your food on a tablet that is stationed at each table that is then brought out by a robot which I thought was so cool! Our waiter Riley was very attentive and so sweet, she answered all our questions and her service was remarkable, she changed out our grill on time every time. The manager Alex was kind enough to make sure everything was going smoothly and making sure we were okay, the staff here is friendly. I like that they have unique options here that I have not seen at other places that I've been to. I got to try chicken bulgogi for the first time, it was delicious! All the bulgogi was tasty. My favorite item that I got to try I would have to say were the scallops! They were big, tender and packed with flavor. I had never tried scallops at a Korean bbq and I'm so glad I did here. The wagyu was soft, tender and flavorful, it was my first time trying any wagyu and I was not disappointed. They also serve Lamb here, which I tried for the very first time. I am a very open minded person so I was excited and willing to try it but it was definitely not for my tastebuds. But none the less the lamb was tender and flavorful just not the flavor my tastebuds can handle. I love that each table comes with the potato (my favorite), pickled mushroom (10/10), pickled radishes (delicious), kimchi (10/10) so lemony, cucumber kimchi (my fav) and seaweed salad (not really my cup of tea). I enjoyed all the different items they provide. I will definitely be back as this is my new go to place for Korean bbq. Better than Gen Korean bbq. It will be worth the drive!(:

Seaweed salad, pickled radish, mashed potatoes, kimchi and more!

First time in this restaurant and the experience was amazing!! I see why they take reservations. It was already packed when we came but we got lucky, didn't wait too long! This place was awesome! It feels so classy and romantic. Each table has its own hot plate to cook your meat, vegetables or seafood. You order your meat on the iPad assigned to your table and shortly mini robot will deliver your items. You still have a staff that will come to you for other things. We had so much fun! I'm coming again and next time take my husband for date night!

We were seated quickly for a late lunch on Saturday. The favorite meats were beef belly and smoked garlic pork belly. Good selection of slides, and I personally love rice paper. But the star of the meal was our server, Nikki. Her grill change technique was the best I've ever seen. So efficient without having to wait to clear meat off the grill!

I complained to the front desk, but both the front desk staff and the waiter had terrible attitudes. I'll never come back to this restaurant again. The waiter didn't change the grill tray when I asked, and I had to call him over myself. The front desk person just kept playing on her phone the whole time. I really don't understand how the owner can hire people like this.

Updated review: I previously left a less favorable review, but I want to acknowledge that the owner clearly took feedback seriously and made real improvements. The service was excellent--servers were attentive, vigilant, and consistently changed the grill plates. The Wagyu beef was outstanding and high quality. There is a great selection of sides, including rice, rice paper, tofu stew, lettuce wraps, japchae, cheese corn, and a calamari vegetable pancake. The banchan (complimentary Korean side dishes) is generous and delicious right from the start. Overall, a great experience and an excellent spot for group dining. It's refreshing to see a restaurant listen to feedback and improve.

    Absolutely! Just no turkey

el precio era 30 cuando yo fui

Is this place open on Labour's day?

We open ALL DAY Diner from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm on Christmas Eve 2022.

It used to be…read moretheir spot, so I thought, what better way to honor him than with ribs, mac and cheese, and a hopeful attitude? We ordered the 3 meats plate with a side of mac and cheese, thinking we'd leave in a food coma. Plot twist: for $45, we basically split a light snack. We asked for double ribs, but apparently ribs are weighed like gold here--so we got just a few sad little bones. When I asked the bartender, she hit me with a "it's weighted meat" and shrugged. Oh. Okay. Guess we're on a portion control diet now. The BBQ sauce? Meh. My mom and I both agreed it was giving "needs a little more love." The corn? Tasted like it defrosted just for us. Still decent, but not for the price tag. The mac and cheese though? A win. Warm, cheesy, and the only thing that arrived hotter than my mild frustration. Now let's talk service. Our bartender vanished mid-meal (poof! just like the ribs), didn't say bye, and didn't introduce her replacement. Instead, she sat at the bar with her friends while we played a fun game of "Where's Our Server?" Spoiler: we lost. Had to ask multiple times for refills. Not quite the relaxing "mom night out" I had in mind. My mom summed it up perfectly: "The prices went up, and the service went down." Poetry. Also, shoutout to the guy next to us who tried ordering half the menu only to be told, "Yeah, we're out of that" over and over. Management, a quick stock check might be helpful for you guest Lastly, don't come here if you're starving or in a rush. Our food took forever and was colder than my ex's heart by the time it arrived--minus the mac and cheese, the MVP. Would I come back? Maybe. But only after a snack and a pep talk. Management, if you're reading this, we just want hot food, a heads-up when the server disappears, and ribs that don't need a microscope to be seen. Is that too much to ask?

I like that this place uses the Yelp waitlist because I put my name down as we were on our way over and arrived just in time. We were seated quickly on a Saturday evening around 6 pm. There are a good amount of tables inside. They also had some TVs showing baseball games around. The service was amazing here. It felt like the waiters and waitresses were constantly eyeing our table to see if we needed anything or were ready to order more. They refilled our water carafe before it was completely empty, changed our grills before we asked, and took away empty plates as soon as we cleared them. I also appreciated that they put salt or something on the ground so it wasn't too slippery. The only complaint I had about the place was that it was really hot but I could see the waitresses were also really hot as they fanned themselves walking around. The food were was actually pretty solid for an ayce restaurant. We got the deluxe plan which is the cheaper option for $30.99. The brisket came with some salt and pepper on it and looked like a better cut than I've seen at other places. We also got some kalbi which came without the bone which is so nice because we didn't have to cut it off and have little meat left over. My husband and I also really liked the marinated steak. I typically like non marinated meat better but the steak was tender and the marinade wasn't too sweet. I used the salt to help cut the sweetness and wrapped it in a lettuce with some radish. I really liked all the meats we tried here. They also have really good sides here that you can't get anymore at a lot of kbbq places like the steamed egg or corn cheese plate. All of the food options were so good and I left very stuffed. I would definitely recommend then kbbq ayce restaurant to anyone in the area!

Two orders of the sweet chili glazed (Pine Doni) and one of the other which was like a honey bbq glazed style. All were supposed to have 6 wings, but the honey BBQ one had 5 (?). The sweet chili was our fave of the two. Their chicken empanadas were huge, and served 3 per dish, were delicious and crispy, with an aioli like sauce with a wonderful kick. The spam roll was a masubi-like and was good (husband said it was the best he's ever had). The side of mac salad had great flavor! Jaz brought us some red rice to try on the house and it was really good! It reminded me of Vietnamese chicken rice, with chicken broth infused into the rice, making it really tasty and savory. First time having Guamanian food and we're stoked we tried it! All in all, great food and awesome service! If you've never tried it before...put it on your list! You won't regret it!

This place is kinda far from where we live, but we wanna try a better Chamorro restaurant; (the one…read moreclose to us in Temecula, we have it a 1-star rating ). The place is, of course, decorated with an island vibe (just like the restaurants in Guam but a little bit fancier-as well as the price), coupled with an island music playlist. We ordered the Maga Lahi ($46.99) comes with salad, 4 small scoops of red rice, chicken kelaguen, empanada, 4pcs each of grilled pork ribs (so tender the meat falls off the bone) and boneless chicken with finadene; chicken kelaguen appetizer that comes with 2 scoops of red rice and emapanadas (3pcs an order). Overall we gave a 3.5 stars for the food because having tried the "real deal" in Guam, we haven't found anything like it here in the mainland US. Our server was very attentive even when it was pretty busy on a Sunday lunch and he was working by himself.
