I had really high hopes for this place because ribeye was on the menu. This place was ok. F O O D Meat quality was subpar imo. We got the $32/pp AYCE. Yes, they have ribeye, but it was choice vs prime and tasted dry even when I pulled it off the grill at medium rare. We tried their brisket and it also tasted avg overcooked, undercooked, just not tasty. Finger meat was ok too. I thought the best meat was the short ribs, but they're marinated and so much of the meat taste was masked. Their popcorn chicken was good, but you don't get AYCE to eat popcorn chicken. I liked that they had corn cheese in a little aluminum container to cook on the grill. And their sides were pretty generous, esp when we asked for more. D R I N K S You pay for drinks. Most of it was bottled non-alcoholic, and some beer was on tap. S E R V I C E Service was fine. Our server was nice and did her job. We just felt like a number more than a guest. Even if we became regulars, it feels like this place would never get to know us and give us extra care. My kiddo liked the robots that helped the server bring the dishes though. TLDR; I'm still a fan of the other kbbq place in the area.

Seaweed salad, pickled radish, mashed potatoes, kimchi and more!

First time in this restaurant and the experience was amazing!! I see why they take reservations. It was already packed when we came but we got lucky, didn't wait too long! This place was awesome! It feels so classy and romantic. Each table has its own hot plate to cook your meat, vegetables or seafood. You order your meat on the iPad assigned to your table and shortly mini robot will deliver your items. You still have a staff that will come to you for other things. We had so much fun! I'm coming again and next time take my husband for date night!

The server changed the grill often so no burnt meat!

Super great lunch deal! Probably the most affordable I've seen for KBBQ with a decent selection and good quality meat. The ventilation was also great for a KBBQ place which made the environment much more enjoyable than I usually find KBBQ. The server was great and changed our grill very quickly and often. Our kids also loved the little robots that brought the food and made service quicker.

We wanted to end our San Diego trip with a feast. After some searches on Yelp, we decided to have an AYCE Korean BBQ in Oceanside before heading north. The reservation was made through Yelp, and we just needed to check in when we arrived at the venue. Inside was quite spacious with seating for 100+ guests. Besides the standard dining area with tables, there were also a complete bar and a party room with stage. Each table had its own exhaust hood and it worked quite well. But I still recommend not wearing fancy apparel for your visit since BBQ smell and smoke may cling to the clothing. The orders were placed through the tablets on the corner of each table and delivered through cute robot carts. Maximum of 6 items per round. Once started, the food kept coming... brisket, ribeye, bulgogi, shrimp, calamari, chicken, oyster, pork belly and much more. All foods were quite fresh, and the marinated ones were nicely seasoned. Each table also came with a set of replenishable Korean banchan side dishes. After 45 minutes and many empty plates later, we were beyond full and ready to call it a day. The price was quite reasonable and the foods were great. Highly recommended.

We were seated quickly for a late lunch on Saturday. The favorite meats were beef belly and smoked garlic pork belly. Good selection of slides, and I personally love rice paper. But the star of the meal was our server, Nikki. Her grill change technique was the best I've ever seen. So efficient without having to wait to clear meat off the grill!

Updated review: I previously left a less favorable review, but I want to acknowledge that the owner clearly took feedback seriously and made real improvements. The service was excellent--servers were attentive, vigilant, and consistently changed the grill plates. The Wagyu beef was outstanding and high quality. There is a great selection of sides, including rice, rice paper, tofu stew, lettuce wraps, japchae, cheese corn, and a calamari vegetable pancake. The banchan (complimentary Korean side dishes) is generous and delicious right from the start. Overall, a great experience and an excellent spot for group dining. It's refreshing to see a restaurant listen to feedback and improve.

Me and my friend came here for a meal after starving at the safari park and it definitely hit the spot. The meats were pretty good quality for ayce. My favorite was the brisket. Some of the lettuce wraps they brought out tasted like soap tho and had little dark brown spots but I just ripped those parts out. It was really busy here so service was kinda slow and they did forget some meats but it wasn't really a big deal to me. I do like the fact that there's no loud EDM music playing LOL And the set up of this place is pretty cool too! Super packed tho, don't come at prime time dinner on a Saturday like we did.

Gaja Korean BBQ in Oceanside: A Trendy Spot with Good Food, but Room for Improvement on Service and Value Ambiance (4/5): Gaja Korean BBQ has a trendy, modern atmosphere with bright lighting and a clean, minimalist design. Music plays in the background, adding to the vibe, though the seating area for waiting is a bit cramped. On a rainy night, it meant we either had to wait outside or crowd the entryway, which wasn't ideal. Service (3/5): The staff was friendly, and the use of robots to bring out trays of meat and vegetables was a fun and unique touch. However, it required a bit of mental juggling as you need to remember what you ordered when the robot arrives. The servers were attentive, coming by frequently to change out the grill top, which kept the cooking process smooth. That said, there was a bit of a hiccup when it came to splitting the bill for our large group. They weren't able to divide the payment into different cards, which led to some inconvenience as people had to Venmo me directly. Food Quality & Menu Variety (4/5): The food was solid, with seafood standing out as a highlight. The calamari was perfectly sized and cooked to perfection. The beef, chicken, and seafood had great flavor and portion sizes, and there was enough variety for everyone to find something they liked. The only downside was the limited selection of appetizers and sides, especially for larger groups--we found ourselves asking for more sides repeatedly. Value for Money (3/5): We went for the all-you-can-eat option, which was a good value in terms of food quality and portion sizes. However, there's a small catch: the restaurant charges an additional fee for large tables, and still had the audacity to ask for a tip, which felt a bit off. In Korean BBQ, the diners do most of the work (cooking the food), so I thought it was a bit greedy to charge both a large table fee and suggest tipping. Also, the cost for a trendy spot like this can feel a little high, especially when you're doing the cooking yourself. Overall Experience (4/5): Gaja Korean BBQ delivers great food, and the clean, trendy atmosphere is perfect for a night out. The large tables make it a great choice for group gatherings, but the higher costs and the issues with splitting the bill and additional fees make it less ideal for large groups. I'd definitely go back for a more intimate experience, but with a smaller crowd to avoid the inconvenience of large-group logistics. Final rating: 4 out of 5 Overall, great food and a trendy atmosphere, but the higher costs and issues with the large table setup keep me from giving a full 5 stars.

Scanned the QR code on the big banner from the outside and checked out their menu. Saw lumpia and thought it was a Filipino spot). Saw they had a happy hour menu and decided to check it out before our movie. The vibe we really cute and played reggae music. It was a relaxing, chill atmosphere with lots of tvs. The server, Jaz was really nice, friendly and very hospitable. She spoke of their Guamanian food, heritage and community. They've been in the current spot for the last 7 or 8 months, so fairly new, but were down the street for many years before that. We ordered 2 different kinds of BBQ chicken wings. Two orders of the sweet chili glazed (Pine Doni) and one of the other which was like a honey bbq glazed style. All were supposed to have 6 wings, but the honey BBQ one had 5 (?). The sweet chili was our fave of the two. Their chicken empanadas were huge, and served 3 per dish, were delicious and crispy, with an aioli like sauce with a wonderful kick. The spam roll was a masubi-like and was good (husband said it was the best he's ever had). The side of mac salad had great flavor! Jaz brought us some red rice to try on the house and it was really good! It reminded me of Vietnamese chicken rice, with chicken broth infused into the rice, making it really tasty and savory. First time having Guamanian food and we're stoked we tried it! All in all, great food and awesome service! If you've never tried it before...put it on your list! You won't regret it!

We started off with the chicken kelaguen which had the perfect amount of flavor and tanginess with the red rice staple. I do wish I got more rice in the chicken to rice ratio, but it was good regardless. Shortly after we got our empanadas (the whole reason I wanted to go here). I had been craving them for weeks and it didn't disappoint. The filling was the delicious and the crust was perfectly crunchy. We then shared the Guam bomb which was a pretty decently sized plate. I appreciated how crunchy the fries were, especially since the amount of sauce on top could have easily made them soggy very quickly. I do wish there was a little more meat but it tasted yummy nonetheless. Our absolute favorite part of the meal was desert. The banana donuts! It came with 4 which was perfectly paired with strawberry ice cream. Overall, super duper happy with another visit to this amazing spot! Hopefully we'll catch them at PIFA San Diego this year

The unassuming exterior and simple but elegant interior greeted us with low lighting and quiet atmosphere. We sat at a table of 6 and immediately knew we were in for a treat. We all had the 10 course meal and although I can't do justice to describing each item- let's just say every bite is a treat for the tastebuds. You could do substitutions and add ons. I added wagyu for additional 55$ but I'm sure the duck would of been just as good. The pork too surprised me as my family raised pigs as a kid and I don't usually eat but the pork dish- with pigs that were raised with special diet and spa-like treatment/ well... the stories added to the dish. Things like pine were unexpected delights. The drinks were all amazing and we tried mixed drinks, sake, and something I rarely see and is worth noting- great mocktails. The service was outstanding and everyone was friendly, polite, knew their job, and quietly was there between each course with fresh silverware. All was completed with a sense of effortlessness. My daughter mentioned to her dad she was waiting on a drink and the manager heard and without hesitation said it was on the way/ and on the house. We chuckled as the bill of course was more than we had ever spent on a single meal, but enjoyed every minute. What struck me about ambiance is we felt as if we were the only ones there although I saw several tables on other side of restaurant. In addition although 6 of us in a circle - we were able to converse with each other with ease. Come with an open mind and be prepared for the best meal you may ever have. Pricey but worth it if you want to create a memory sure to please.

Made reservations online for the tasting menu $225. The place is in the middle of nowhere, from the outside you'd never guess it was fine dining. We started off with a trio of little bites, a tile fish gungakn roll, fried mochi threads, and an acorn cracker filled with camembert cheese. The raw tile fish gunkan was ok, the mochi threads were nice and crunchy, the camembert cheese was too pungent for me. Hamachi/Raspberry - slices of Yellow tail and raspberry in a ponzu sauce. The ponzu stood out most and gave it a salty profile i couldn't really distinguish between the hamachi and the raspberry as the textures were similar. Artichoke Kohlrabi gyoza with a bri sauce. This dish was very good though i thought it was more like ravioli than gyoza. It even looked like ravioli. I think they just called it gyoza to make it fit the Japanese theme. Shrimp tempura was delicious! it was lightly battered and fried and put in a shallow bowl of shrimp broth. They said it came with dynamite sauce but i think it was just kewpie mayo. Very good and one of my favorites of the evening. Chicken wing stuffed with scallop, part of the wing was deboned and stuffed with a Hokkaido scallop. It was very tasty, the scallop was very sweet and tender. I wish the skin of the chicken wing was crispier. It was quite charred but did not crack when bitten into it and a little rubbery. Tile fish had a very crispy skin and came with a beautiful sauce of i think apples and apricots and a walnut butter. I really liked the sauce that was spooned on the plate. another one of my favorites of the evening. Duck done 2 ways; roasted and a fried tsukune meatball. They both came in a light carrot sauce. The fat on the roasted piece was nicely rendered and the duck meat very tender. The tsukune was nicely fried and crispy and still rare inside. The palate cleanser was a pine ice cream with Aloe Jelly, The pine ice cream was quite refreshing and smooth i thought the aloe jelly was a bit strong tasting. I think flavor came from the geranium but something had a strong taste to it. The dessert was also one of my favorites White chocolate with hokkaido milk powder on top of miso ice cream and slices of tangerine. It was supposed to be reminiscent of a creamsicle. The Hokkaido milk power was magic on the shards of white chocolate, the miso ice cream was very smooth and dense and when eaten together with the pieces of manderin orange did remind me of a creamsicle. They gave us a trio of finishing dishes a trio of bites; Castella cake, Kokuto jelly and raspberry mochi. The castella cake didn't really stand out, it wasn't the sweet dense cake that im used to. The kokuto jelly had that deep brown sugar taste but was too stiff in my opinion. The raspberry mochi had a strong raspberry flavor which i loved and had a good chew to it. Service was exceptional, water was filled many times almost every time the water glass went down 1/4 it was filled to the top. Each course was preceded with the proper utensiles and were cleared after each dish. i must have had at least 4 forks and 4 spoons. Definilty 5 star (Michilin style) service. Food was very good maybe 4 stars. Value was ok maybe 3 stars. If you divided the courses by the price it came to $25 per course. If you looked at the ala cart menu, many of the items were there and could be had for less than $25, of course not all the dishes on the tasting menu were available ala cart. But i feel if you sat at the bar and ordered a cocktail and maybe 5-6 dishes you't still pay a hefty price but it would be much less than $225. I feel like thats the way to go instead of the tasting menu. Come here if you want exceptional service.

It's hidden behind the 24 Hour Fitness and CVS. The plaza has limited parking, but it isn't typically too crowded and you should be able to find parking in front of this family-owned ramen restaurant. They have a quaint and trendy ambiance and they placed a lot of care into their anime murals, which lends to a "whimsical" vibe. It's a nice blend of traditional elements & colors and modern (kawaii) accents. The interior is also spacious and has great seating for groups and is also good for couples too. Enjoy table seating or better-yet at their bar seating and you can chat with the friendly staff! They have a "staple menu" that is written in chalk on a board and then there's their menu that is very diverse. They also have a great Happy Hour menu with items priced below $8, including sake! I enjoy their pan-fried gyoza, salted edamame, miso soup, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, chicken karaage and most other delicious dishes. Their sushi menu is also high quality grade and I feel is often overlooked and underrated. But their ramen is what shines the most! There are so many styles & varieties! There's a lot to customize and their broth is amazing! There are many tasty bowls, desserts and don't forget to grab a sake or a craft beer! I recommend checking Wu Lan Ramen the next time you're looking for some authentic ramen or sushi in the north side of Oceanside.

We came in for a late dinner while in the area. I've had it bookmarked for a while so it was…read moreserendipitous that we happened to be in Vista for a birthday party just around the corner. The restaurant is small, cozy, welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. It isn't well suited for larger parties as most tables are tables for 2 unless tables are pushed together. They do have patio seating and heaters outside, but it didn't appeal to me being so close to the street/loud traffic. Gabriel checked us in, seated us, took our order, served our food and waited on us for majority of our visit, I would give him 10 stars just on his impeccable service. The food though? The food was AMAZING!! Everything we ordered was the best we have ever had anywhere. The buns were very kawaii (and we ordered ever single one to try). The fillings were savory, but we also loved their seasonal panda bun with ube filling while the kids preferred the nutella bunny. Best chicken karaage we've had by far, the coating almost tasted like it was rolled in kinako powder. The ramen broth was "chef's kiss" with so much flavors, the crab rangoon were jumbo and the filling was delicious, but the chicken katsu was also the best we have had anywhere (including Hawaii). The breading was just top tier crunchy while the chicken was thick and juicy. There isn't one bad thing I could say about this place, from the service to the food, I would make the drive out here again. Super duper, highly recommend, don't sleep on this little place, you'll regret it!

It was finally Bun Time for me. I came across this Japanese restaurant at different places but I…read morenever had the chance to check it out. I'm glad the Vista location immediately made me a Harumama Fan. A special thanks to my waiter who answered my questions and checked up on me a few times. The service was stellar...my food came out pretty fast. I loooved how the Cow Buns were sooo cuuute and nicely decorated to eat. They were delicately delicious pairing well with my Yakisoba Noodles which had the right amount of vegetables. Overall, it was a fun flavorful time for the first try. I can't wait to try more dishes. Highly recommended to the Yelp Community!
