There is dine in but I ordered take out and picked it up. Small restaurant known more for takeout, but you can sit. They offer delivery service minimum of $20.00. The food was good. We had the seafood soup? Spring rolls, and basil chicken. The spring rolls come in 2 and are a decent size. The plate sizing is good. I split the basil chicken and rice with my husband and we still have leftovers. Due to the Quick service it's a good takeout go to.

Galanga Thai has been around for many year but I've just discovered them less than a month ago. Safe to say, I've been missing out! My experience was so great that I went back two days later for another dinner with friends. Here's what I tasted both times. Visit Number 1: * Chicken Satay - absolutely juicy and flavorful chicken with a peanut dipping sauce, normally I'm not big on peanut flavor but this was good! * Duck pancake - THIS stole my heart and has yet to give it back. I could eat a tray of these all day, every day, for the rest of my days. * Samosa - I love a good samosa, but a great one is hard to come by. These samosas were PERFECT. Also, they come out piping hot so be mindful when your greedy behind goes in for a bite. * Spicy Basil Chicken - this entree will be in my rotation when visiting Galanga Thai. The flavors and spice were more than nice. It's accompanied by many fresh vegetables that manage to keep their crunch although cooked which I appreciate. Paired with white rice to enhance the flavors, you can't go wrong with this as your main squeeze. Visit Number 2: * Duck Pancake - DUH! * Samosa - DUH, again! * Shao Mai Dumplings - tiny, yummy, juicy, memorable; get them! * Mee Ga-Thi - these noodles were thick and fully absorbed the flavors described on the menu. The combination of chicken and baby shrimp also help make this meal one of my faves! * Basil Duck - listennnnn, this meal is so good you'll be quacking the whole way home. Tender, delicious, and fulfilling the whole way through. Also paired with white rice! * Volcano Beef AND Chicken - we decided to get both beef and chicken for this one and we were not disappointed. The meal lives up to its name in that it has some spice to it, but it's not overbearing and allows the other spices and flavors to have equal shine. To sum it all up, Galanga Thai is now one of my favorite restaurants and Andy, our server, is the absolute best. I'll be back very soon! See you there. *Note: Not all my photos posted WITH the review for some reason but all 13 of them are on the business page lol.

Such a wonderful thai place! I came because the prices looked affordable but Galanga has even more to offer! There are delicious vegan faux meat options and yummy drinks. The restaurant is very pretty inside and service was very prompt. I was so happy to try this place and will definitely be coming back!

I don't know what this photo is!! Can someone tell me what is it? Is it pad see yu??

First time ordering from this place, I don't think they don't know their own food what it supposed to look or taste like. We spend so much money for delivery the food to own company and it was a disappointing experience. Never again. And can someone tell me what is that?? I have order the Pad see yu!

Is this the best Pad thai I've ever had? Nope, but damn if it isn't a close second. Crazy big portions, flavorful noodles, and my personal favorite a little bit of spice! If you're not looking for a spicy pad Thai then I wouldn't recommend this dish. I usually grab Galanga when I'm working a long Saturday shift at my job. It gets me out of the office and allows me to visit the cute inside. Also there's always leftovers for dinner or the next day for lunch. It's a really great lunch spot on Main Street in Bay Shore. Perfect for a quick bite and then shopping!

You should absolutely try Galanga. First off the people are so warm and friendly and always make you feel right at home. They have amazing Thai dishes with the most delicious and different flavors. Does not leave you with that grossly full greasy feeling. I love just about all their dishes definitely recommend the tom yam goong soup with tofu and the lar nard dish, excellent pad thai!

It's sooooooo good I love this place. I always get the pad Thai or the drunken noodles. Drinks wise non alcoholic I've had the Thai iced tea sooo good. And for drinks I've had the mai tai and the island punch. 10/10 recommend

We ate here on a Saturday night for a friends birthday. The place was spacious, the food was delicious, and the service was great. They even let us bring a small ice cream to cut after dinner. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

Upon arrival the outside is misleading for how cute it is inside. The lights are dim, the jazz music is low but loud enough to enjoy, and the decor is cute. The food is just as good as the atmosphere. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken and shrimp, at a mild spice, which is my go to for Thai food and it was amazing! I asked for additional chili paste on the side to control the heat and ended up adding a little more. The noodles were cooked perfectly, at other places they can sometimes be too thick/doughy but that was not the case. The chicken and shrimp were at a good ratio to noodle and cooked very well also. I tried my boyfriends Spicy Basil Duck and it was also really delicious. The duck was very tender, juicy and flavorful. Our waiter was very nice and attentive which is always a plus. The food was also decently priced. I will 100% be back to enjoy more of this great food and great ambiance.

I found this thai restaurant by accident. It's in a little spot on main street kind of hidden but it's a jewel. I have been there with family and friends over 7 times already. You walk in to a pleasant atmosphere. The waiters are so nice they great you with a smile that gives you the assurance you will love their food. So as always we get our favorite table and we start with the egg rolls dipped in the red sauce. Simply delicious. We have ordered many dishes from the coconut noodle to the beef dishes. Which was excellent. Overall service is fantastic. The food is awesome here as well. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Bayshore on Main Street.

This is dessert. It's called Mango z sticky Rice. Never had it before. Crazy good!!!

Galanga Thai is a sparkling gem tucked deep into the middle of Bay Shore. We were heading to a very special Japanese restaurant that, unbeknownst to us, had closed. If I had sneezed, we would have missed it. The food is spot on. The ingredients are super fresh and each dish is authentic. The flavors are amazing as they should be in a Thai dish. The service is lovingly provided by Andrew, an extremely knowledgeable waiter who is a perfect complement to the great food. The price point is even something special to mention. If you enjoy flavorful eats, friendly personalized service with for a fair cost, then by all means, get down to this wonderful restaurant and have a blast. A last note to anyone GF. There are more than enough Gluten Free options for the GF community.

Quite honestly it's a small restaurant in a strip mall that I would compare to a takeout Chinese restaurant, however they have about six tables and a wonderful waitress named Masi who provided great service with a smile. We ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles with Shrimp and both dishes were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I typically don't eat spicy food so I asked for mild seasoning on drunken noodles and they were a bit spicy for me but absolutely delicious. I tasted my sister's pad thai and could not believe how good it was. The next time we go, I will definitely be ordering that pad thai. If you're thinking about going out for Thai food and you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. You can tell by the reviews that they have great food; the prices are super affordable and they even offer a great weekday lunch special for $13-$16 for a variety of dishes, a spring roll and a soda. I can't wait to go back!

We ordered two dishes from this restaurant, both with which were insanely expensive however, I was willing to overlook the price if the quality of the food was sufficient. Almost $30 each for pad see yew and pad Thai, totaling over $70 for two dishes when all was set and done. In retrospect, I'm an idiot for paying so much for noodles. Regardless, I indicated "BABY level" of spice on my pad CU as in my old age I just can't handle it anymore. And my old age, I mean my 30s. Back on track, my order was received and not only were there barely any noodles or shrimp in my pad see yew, the container was not even halfway full. Both dishes, the pads see you and the pad Thai were so spicy that neither of us could eat it. Everything would be fine if that was where the story ended, but it's not. Upon calling the restaurant I spoke to a nice but powerless who handed the phone off to an even nicer gentleman with seemingly more power. He completely understood our predicament and offered anything we would want in order to remedy the situation. At this point, it is almost 9 o'clock at night so ordering and waiting for food to be delivered or re-delivered is not an option. We asked for a refund as the food is inedible. I also remind you that these two dishes were over $70 which is absolutely absurd. I also remind you that the pad see yew dish was maybe 50% full with three shrimp in total. The nice nice man asked me if I wanted to speak to the chef to which I said no, I need to speak with a manager. Oh no that wasn't a nice man. That was the nice but powerless lady that's who gave me the nice man. Somehow the Chef got on the phone and that's where everything falls apart. She was so offended that we requested a refund that she insisted that we were wrong, that they don't use spice, that we ate the food and couldn't prove it. She wanted a photo of said spicy food, as if the photo would indicate the level of heat. She thought we ate it already and wanted photo proof. She claimed that we were ruining her restaurant and said that we weren't nice. She said that she wanted us to come to the restaurant and return the food. Go anywhere else for Thai food, especially Galanga in Bay shore, where to the wise if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I apologize immensely for all in any spelling and grammatical errors, I am too tired and too hungry to proofread this voice memo review.

3.5 Stars for their lunch specials!…read more This was our first visit, and we only ordered a salad and two lunch specials. I would definitely come back to try other items from their regular menu. I found the entrees in the lunch special a little skimpy. These are the dishes we shared: -- Papaya Salad ($12): this is from their regular menu, and I thought it was excellent! Well balanced and so tasty! -- Drunken Noodles w.Beef (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Soup, which was a Tom Yum Soup. The Soup was very spicy but the Drunken Noodles were very mild; almost bland. It definitely needed more flavors and wok hei, but still ok. -- Massaman Curry w.Shrimp (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Salad, which came with a Peanut sauce. The Salad was actually pretty good; the peanut sauce was slightly sweet. The Massaman Curry w.Shrimp was very weak in flavor and only came with 3 little shrimps. I would suggest you order a different protein and skip the shrimp. Customer service was good; albeit there was nobody to greet us when we first arrived, so we just seated ourselves. But service got better. They didn't rush us to order and let us linger after we finished eating. But after a while, we were asked to leave since they close the restaurant in between the lunch and dinner service (between 3:30-4:30pm). Sorry, we were not aware of this! All in all, a decent first experience. Next time, I'd skip the lunch specials and just order off their regular menu.

The pad woon sen had a good ratio of chicken, veggies and noodles. Our favorite though was the crab fried rice. It was nice and fluffy, lots of fresh crab meat and very tasty. I would definitely order the fried rice again. Next time maybe I'll try dining in as their interior look nicely decorated.
