We waited to be seated and then discovered that we could just seat ourselves. It was strange because several waitstaff saw us standing there, but chose to ignore us for a while. Great coffee. Very friendly service. They were very busy mid-Sunday morning but accommodated our group of 20 in town for an event, within a few minutes. Do not trust the prices online. I went in to get a burrito wand an online it says it's 999 they charged me 1399. When I brought it to the owners attention he said that's what the prices is....do you want me to cancel your order? I left my order in place and then I heard them in the back like oh she's on yelp she can give you a bad review she's gonna tell her friends and then he came out and offer the discount which I said it's fine at this point, don't worry about it. But I am coming on yelp because that's pretty crappy in my opinion to have a four dollar price difference and not immediately honor your price on yelp! While waiting for our takeout order, we caught a glimpse of other meals, such as sandwiches and omelets, being brought to diners. They also seemed to be generously portioned and the menu shows that prices are reasonable on those as well. Some of the other Yelp reviews complained about slow service, long waits, but I have yet to go to a breakfast nook on a weekend day that doesn't have this problem. It's hard to get people willing to work for just a few hours starting early on a Saturday and Sunday for low wages. The pandemic only made things worse. read more

I didn't do any research before coming here and I wish I did. I knew I wanted breakfast and it was the closest place to where I was at the time. We walked into the old fashioned establishment and immediately thought they had the air conditioning on. It's March 9th. I am warm blooded and to me it was freezing. We got sat by an older woman. Both my mom and I ordered a soda. My mom simply asked if there were free refills and the lady said yes in a "I can't believe you just asked me that" way. As she put her back towards my mom to walk away, she rolled her eyes. Is the cost of the soda to refill coming out of her pocket? That set the mood for the whole dining experience. I'm not a French toast kinda girl but thought I'd try the stuffed French toast. It looked a lot better than it tasted. When I ordered a strawberry stuffed French toast, I didn't think it would be a thin layer of sliced strawberries and a huge blob of cream cheese. The cream cheese was overly sour. I'm sure if I got the French toast plain, it would have fine. Maybe I had different expectations of what "stuffed" meant. My mom got an omelette and was asked if she wanted cheese. What omelette DOESN'T come with cheese and what place CHARGES for cheese in said omelette? I'm still confused by that. The omelette was pretty good and the home fries are how I like them. Not much seasoning, soft on the inside with a little crunch on the outside. The bill came to around $24 including tip. still a bustling place and very welcoming, but not incredibly busy where one would feel cramped or neglected. server is efficient and attentive, yet friendly and relaxed, never rushed us to order or to leave. food came quickly, tastes good, made to expectation. portion size is reasonable, pricing is fair. just realized that there is a sizable parking lot in the back of restaurant, entering from Wall St., with back door access into restaurant. street parking is readily available but a bit high stress to parallel park on the busy road. didn't think of checking time limit on parking until over an hour later, server thought it was fine and thankfully no ticket. but i would recommend checking next time, or just pull into the back lot. very great place to chill alone or with a friend. recommend! read more

Used to like this place but it's really gone down hill. I had a super awful experience recently and I refuse to go to this place ever again. I ordered food to go through doordash and they messed up both meals. I called to tell them the issue, the crab cakes Benedict came as eggs over easy with home fries and a side of crab cakes, and the woman who answered didn't understand the issue. I had to explain to her what eggs Benedict was and she told me they'd make a new one and I could come and get it. When I got there the place was a mess and you couldn't tell who actually worked there. A lady pointed at me and said "are you picking up food" and I said no I called about an order being incorrect. She got visibility upset and ran to grab my food. She then (extremely loudly) began to blame me for the order being wrong. She said "just so you know, when an order comes in like this, we make it the way it says on the receipt" while pointing at the receipt I never received with my meal. I looked at it, and it said in large bold letters "Maryland crab cake Benedict" with over easy and home fries underneath it as specifications. I'm not sure how that translates to no English muffin no hollandaise. I tried to explain the error to her and she interrupted me and put her hands up saying "I don't know anything about doordash". Additionally, she told me they didn't know the order should have had hollandaise. It was super rude and unprofessional. When I got home I opened up my "new meal" and it was literally a box with 2 poached eggs and a separate side of hollandaise. They missed the mark on the damn English muffin. I'd say don't ever order eggs Benedict from them because they don't know what it is or how to make it. Super disappointing because this place used to be pretty good a few years ago. Went in today for breakfast, won't be going back. 1) was told wait was 25mins, ended up being closer to 35. A large party who came in after us was sat before us. The party was split into two tables, one of which we could've fit in. 2) We sat down and was immediately greeted and was provided drinks (awesome!). It was about 15 mins later when the waitress returned to take our order. Food took another 30-35 mins. 3) During this half hour, the waitress was busy cleaning the breakfast bar, taking trash out, etc and never once asked if we wanted more coffee or drinks. 4) We were actually wondering if she even put in the order while we were waiting... but then she dropped the check off BEFORE we even received our food. Who does that? 5) food came about 30-35 mins later and one side was wrong on the burrito and my omelette was missing cheese. How do I know it took this long? Because I checked the time stamp on the check. Overall service sucked and food was bland. Won't be going back. read more

I was hesitant to write this but this is the third bad experience we've had here in a row. I meet with a group for breakfast just about every week and the commons is the most convenient place to eat. Every time we've come here the quality and service has gotten progressively worse. I understand it's COVID but things like not having working AC in 90 degree humid heat and taking an hour to get our meals, 10 minutes to get water, and 20 minutes to order, is just unacceptable. I was in town for the weekend and was looking for a place for some breakfast. If found this place on yelp, and it had good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. From the outside it looked really cute and the inside was clean. The place was already busy with the morning crowd. I sat at the counter and ordered a cup of coffee along with two eggs over medium, corned beef hash, home fries and a piece of "thick" cinnamon French toast. When my food arrived, the first thing I noticed was several greasy finger print all alone along the edge of my plate, then it went downhill from there.... The home fries weren't freshly made, if looked like old baked potatoes that were cut up and fried, and they were burnt and unappetizing. The corned beef hash looked like they just opened up a can of corned beef hash and just warmed it through. I ordered two eggs over med with the whites set and that was the only thing that was cooked perfectly. As for the French toast it was unappealing. Disappointing breakfast, unappealing and unappetizing... The finger prints on the plate was so disgusting... Please see the photos that I have posted. The oatmeal was about as good as it gets. No sugar added... brown sugar on the side. They have two versions of oatmeal but the truth is you can mix and match blueberries, cranberries, walnuts, raisins. All really fresh. The blueberry pie in the case looked amazing. We've only come here for breakfast, and it always gets the job done with excellent prices. I had to update my first review to make mention of the blueberry pancakes, which are quite possibly the best I've ever had in my entire life (see the attached picture). The staff is always friendly, and it seems to be a home grown local establishment. If you want a pure Foxborian experience, come here. The accents are strong and the people are homely. My only caution is to make sure to get here prior to 1030 on the weekend, as the line can get long, but I'm sure that's the case anywhere if you're hungover and can't wake up before that time. read more

I went into the commons today around noon. We were told the wait would be around 30mins. We expected the wait. After 45 mins of waiting we asked the busk boy how much longer he proceeded to tell us probably another 30mins. I look around and people are waiting to pay, credit cards out and mostly everyone has checks on the table. Theres open tables!! The server says clean off a table and they can have a booth and table. Then the server comes down with an attitude about us been the last table, passes a comment after she takes our order that the kitchen will be delighted to have such a big order end of day. (We 're a party of 7) She then yells out to the kitchen that she has a big order going in, there was at least 3 sighs from staff members. Keep in mind the kitchen staff had eyes on us the entire time we had been sat T the table. The place is not big. After hearing the sighs from staff members I decided we were not eating there. I have never in my life been made feel so uncomfortable for been a customer. I have worked in the service industry for 17yrs. If I had ever treated a patron like this I would have been fired on the spot. I have been going to the commons for almost 5 years ( not every weekend). I'm beyond disappointed from today's experience. I have absolutely no desire to ever return. Save your money Peeps, go somewhere your money and patronism is appreciated. read more
