This morning I woke up with a yearning for breakfast biscuits and so I headed out with my trusty iPad to a local diner. As always, to a place I haven't tried yet. In this case, the Key West Diner in Stuart, FL. I originally wanted a simple breakfast of those biscuits that were calling me. I figured I'd accompany my biscuits with an order of scrambled eggs and my usual tea latte. As you would expect by its name, Key West Diner has a nice Key West design and a really nice outdoor dining patio. Inside offered booth and table seating. One suggestion would be for the diner to play Island/boating type music instead of the standard pop channel they had on. This would add to the key West feel. Having said that, let's move on to the dining experience. I don't usually go over what a restaurant offers on their menu since I assume if you're reading this review you are on their site. Suffice to say, their menu is the typical diner menu. Looking over the menu of course I noticed they had no biscuits! So much for satisfying my biscuit yearning. At least they had a Taylor Ham and egg on a hard roll. A breakfast I will always happily choose. So, my biscuit breakfast would have to wait for another day. Next I ordered my Latte tea. You guessed it, no steamed milk. One final request topped it all... the WiFi password. Yep, no WiFi! This is clearly not a killer if you're dining with someone but, it's definitely a negative for anyone dining alone. I haven't seen many places that don't offer WiFi but Key West Diner is obviously one of them. To me, when dining alone, reading on my iPad brings back memories of reading the morning paper while eating breakfast. Or in this case, forcing me to post a review AFTER I leave the location. Enough about what this diner doesn't have, let's move on to what they do offer. First, the service; I was seated quickly by a host and my server arrived soon thereafter. She served me with a smile and brought everything I asked for correctly and efficiently. She did a really nice job of being there when I needed her but not constantly pestering me during my meal. Well done. Now my meal; My Taylor Ham featured two eggs and two thick slices of Taylor Ham. The eggs were made perfectly as requested (Overeasy) and lo and behold, the sandwich was on a Kaiser roll! It's not often you get a Taylor Ham and egg on a Kaiser roll (the correct way to make it) but that's what we had here. Unfortunately, although the Taylor Ham and eggs were spot on,, the roll did not live up to expectations. Sadly it was not crispy on the outside and had more of a white bread consistency. Too bad because I really did appreciate the attempt. My tea was fine (considering the lack of steamed milk) Bottom line; The key I always ask of any place I visit... would I come back? In Key West Diners case, more than likely, no. Not because it's bad, simply because it's nothing special AND it doesn't offer WiFi. read more

3 of us ate here for lunch today and we thought the food and the service was good. I ordered the BLT w/ fries and it was made exactly as I ordered it. My 2 colleagues ordered the Grouper sandwich w/ Cole slaw. One colleague liked the Cole Slaw and one did not like it. They both LOVED the grouper sandwich. Arrived for breakfast around 8am and place looked deserted! Decided to try it and went in! Ordered a western omelet and coffee and it was good! The home fried potatoes were absolutely the best I've had in a long time. Not greasy or overdone and really tasted great! We went first thing in the morning. Our first time there and the decor is cute and the restaurant seemed clean. I specifically asked the waitress if there was any cinnamon in the crepes and she said no but there was cinnamon in the actual crepe. Service was fair and the waitress was nice but we had to flag our waitress to get service even though the restaurant wasn't busy. The home fries were more like fried mashed potatoes but the Denver omelette and the toast were excellent. The waitress was kind enough to take half off of the crepes when I let her know that the crepes had cinnamon. Not a terrible experience but we won't be going back. read more

We been here many time over a few year. Last week I went with my wife and here service dog. The hostess went a got the owner who then told us we not allow to bring dogs in the restaurant. I told him the dog is a licensed serviced dog for my wife and he still refused to service us. Totally illegal what he did. We are thinking about filing complete with the state license board against him. Also it appears t they did this before as their other reviews with the same issue. My Cesar salad had a little too much dressing so, if you're gonna get a salad I suggest you get the dressing on the side. it is important that I mention that I am vegetarian. As for my cheese ravioli parmesan, it was good but had something off about it. I looked inside and it was definitely not cheese. I think there was some kind of crab leg inside. I ended up ordering linguine with butter and cheese which wasn't bad. We've been here twice now, everything so far has been great, you can taste the fresh ingredients in the omelettes, definitely recommend the not so commonly found gyro omelette and the chicken, spinach, tomato, and feta omelette. Their sausage link isn't your typical breakfast sausage, the taste reminds me of paté. The apples cinnamon crepes were a treat too and not overly sweet either. The grits are also very yummy here too and at least one of us will order it as the side option. Other sides like english muffins, home fries, and bacon are as expected. It is a diner with full menu including dinner and they also have wine, haven't ventured that far into the menu yet though, but will be back to keep trying new things and hopefully will still keep getting pleasantly surprised. New to the area and wanted to give it a try, went for lunch on a Tuesday around 1:30 decently filled tables our waitress was super nice and the food came out pretty quickly. The chicken Caesar salad was PACKED with chicken and tasty. The chicken caesar wrap had fries substituted in for the potato salad at no extra charge. Everything was delicious! And the sweet tea was perfectly sweet. We enjoyed our lunch here a lot! Only downside was no soap in the men's bathroom and the woman's bathroom had a watered down bottle unfortunately. read more

We were in town for the Babe Ruth Softball World Series and had about 1.5 hours in between games to get a bite to eat. Found this place and had decent reviews so decided to try it out. Called ahead to see if there was a wait, we had a softball family of 21 people. No wait, and they sat us really quickly. We actually only started with just 4 and more and more wanted to join us so we kept increasing the headcount. Even still, they quickly got more and more tables together and made it happen for all 21 of us to sit together or next to each other! They got our drink orders and then our food orders once all drinks were delivered. Amazingly the food came out pretty quick and the same time! Everyone loved their food. Several people got omelets and kept saying how delicious they were. Myself and my daughter got the eggs Benedict and it was really delicious. A few others got different meals pancakes, sandwiches, etc., and everyone loved their meal. I didn't take any photos because we were all so hungry and the food was just too good to stop and take a photo. Highly recommend going to the diner. This place used to be good until they started insisting on using kids as a first point of contact upfront as you enter the diner. The gal's customer service (lack thereof) skills were so terrible that I just decided to walk out after not being acknowledged for several minutes.
