We had a sunsetter awning installed with Galaxy and they were excellent to work with. They came right away to measure and provide an estimate, and have been professional from start to finish. When the awning arrived from the manufacturer damaged, they installed it so we could use it for the hot summer months, but ordered a new one and kept us updated throughout on when it would arrive. A bit more money than I was wanting to spend, but I have a million dollar view. Matt's done thousands of homes. Just let go. Results are really fantastic. Stunning transformation of the rooms. The blinds are beautiful, quiet, fitting for a million dollar view. What surprised me most was how bulky and obtrusive the vertical blinds were. The casing for the shades is barely perceptible, melting into the ceiling. For me, the opaque shades in the bedrooms are ideal. Last thoughts - in this era of contractors being unprofessional, under-skilled for the jobs contracted, and sometimes rude -- I found the Galaxy Drapery team to be always timely, precise and knowledgeable in their work, highly communicative, and delivered on time, exactly as promised. We ordered the "top down" blinds that you can raise from the bottom or lower from the top. Love them! At installation, our installer Evan who was very nice and professional, noticed that one of the end caps was missing. No problem. Bri with Galaxy helped us to schedule a time for Evan to come back. Warning and be careful This company will not fix your draperies if there are issues with it. They will take your money and tell you is life time warranty but will not tell you clauses. When trying to get repair they will give you the runaround. Their products are cheap and tear u and start fraying. We ordered our shades through Costco. We got an appointment with Galaxy draperies' representative very quickly. She came to our house, gave us ideas and choices. She was very knowledgeable and professional. We placed an order for several our windows. The only problem we had was that something was out of stock, but that wasn't Galaxy's fault. So we waited for 2 extra months to get our shades. All this time while we were waiting, they updated us regularly on our status. After our shades arrived, the installer came to our house within one week and installed our beautiful shades which we are enjoying every day. Thank you Galaxy Draperies!! read more

Update on Solar Shades after first summer of 2023. I can say that these shades really cut back on the heat inside our living room during the summer months. With the shutters open when the sun is setting and the shades are down, living room area is much cooler than before. Sunlight still gets in without the heat build up. I am very satisfied with the purchase. It performs well and looks nice. Well worth the investment. Also had one installed inside the garage where the window faces west. I give Galaxy Draperies one star because I can't give them zero.  This is a bunch of incompetents taking advantage of Costco's customers.  I hate that I am now tied to them for the warranty on the blinds that they sold me and, only after a long delay, installed in my home. This project, which took almost four months to complete and cost me thousands of dollars, was the worst I ever suffered through.  Here is the story, told in three scams: Scam No. 1.  "Your credit card will not be charged until the product ships."  That was a lie.  My Chase credit card was charged on day one.  That was December 16, 2022 when the balance was paid in full. Scam No. 2.  "The project is being held for an additional charge of $145," a charge that was never discussed with me or included in the contract.  After three months of silence from Galaxy Draperies, I started making phone calls and sending emails, all of which went unanswered for weeks.  Finally someone from Galaxy called me to say that the project was being held for an additional payment of $145.  At that point I was three months into the purchase, with thousands of dollars already spent and no choice but to pay the bogus charge.  Later, I started calling and emailing again.  Finally the blinds were delivered and installed on March 22, 2023. Scam No. 3.  Two days after the installation, Galaxy Draperies fraudulently charged my credit card an additional $3,000.  I was able to work with my bank to void the charge, but I had to cancel my credit card, a huge inconvenience. Buyer beware.  If you are doing business with Galaxy Draperies and you have given them your credit card information, be vigilant.  I have filed a complaint with Costco, which I hope will not allow Galaxy to treat other customers the way I was treated. read more

We used this company in 2020 to replace mini blinds made by Smith and Noble, their blinds held up for 20 plus years. We only switched to Galaxy because they were supposedly sponsored by Costco which gave me the false security that they were a good company. 1st mistake. Unfortunately the pulls have already broken on one of my blinds. I wasn't too worried about it, because when we purchased the blinds we were told they had a lifetime guarantee. What I didn't realize was that it did not include labor. Subsequently, we needed a blind in our guest room so we decided to let the company know about the problem when they came to estimate a new window treatment. We showed the salesman the faulty pull and he assured me when the installer came to put the new blind in they would repair the broken one. Well when the installer came, he told me they had to order the pull to call customer service to have it repaired. At no time did anyone say it would cost a whopping 175.00 in labor. Now we realize we should have looked at the contract a little closer, but I also KNOW the product should have held up a lot longer than 4 years, so buyer beware. They are pricey and the product looks no better than other companies out there and is certainly below average on durability. I am so sorry I used them at al, now I have to worry about all my window treatments being faulty. We had planning on using them again for our other bedrooms, but not now. I will also be letting Costco know the quality of their roadshow partner. read more

I had an amazing experience with Galaxy Draperies. My fiance and I were in the market for roller shade for our custom-sized window. My first encounter with Shane (sales representative), he was very unassuming and not pushy. He even accommodated follow up consultations with my fiance because of her tight schedule. Shane helped us get the right fabric and color for our roller shade. After 8 weeks, Angel (installer) installed our roller shade. He was on time. He was very professional and installed our roller shade within 30 minutes. He did it on a Saturday morning and made time for us that day considering he was having a baby shower with his wife later on that day! Angel even noticed a damage on the shade and replaced the fabric for free. Overall I am happy with the product and quality of service from start to finish. read more

My wife and I were exiting a local Costco when we were solicited to buy window treatments. We assumed Costco "approved" subcontractors would be reputable and fairly priced. Over 3 months have passed since our initial meeting and payment for two window shades and we're still waiting. One was installed but the other window has been measured THREE times and still isn't right. DO NOT waste your time or money dealing with this incompetent company!! I wish that I could say otherwise but my experience with Galaxy has been horrible. The product is great but the service is one of the worse I have experienced. During the sales process, our sales rep kept mixing up what we wanted and we'd have to start all over with explaining it. It took several sit-downs with him and then we finally met with his boss who got this over the finish line. And she literally had to walk him through how to place the order in front of us; making what should have been a 90-minute session take nearly 3 hours. Then once the shades were installed, we had a few that needed to be replaced. At the install, the team seemed on it and flagged right away. Over a month goes by and no response from anyone. I call our sales rep, nothing. Finally, I call the main number and a manager explains that the repair order had been placed but that no one bothered to follow up with me on scheduling. It then took me two weeks to coordinate with that team, holding their hand to make sure that everything was fixed in one session rather than people coming out multiple times. I have since been trying to contact a manager to express my frustration and I have been completely blown off. And our order was over $20,000 so I would have thought someone would be interested in hearing about our experience and addressing it. The product is good and the Costco gift card can be enticing but proceeded at your own risk as dealing with Galaxy more than negates that upside. read more

Day of appointment, was told representative would be an hour late. 10 minutes before already being an hour late, representative called saying still at prior appointment with clients still deciding what to choose. Why schedule an appointment 3 weeks in advance if it's all nonsense to start with?? I'm disappointed in this company and in Costco in associating with them. We had a perfect experience. Ruben was our designer. He arrived on time, and was courteous, friendly, and attentive. My partner loved the fan effect (which is why we skipped blackout on the arched window), and the textures on the materials. While we discussed fancy options for the higher windows, we ended up with a long chain, because I like simple and reliable. We also had some windows that would be blocked by furniture, and they helped us choose inexpensive options that were still of good quality. They ended up measuring three times with three different people. This probably explains why everything went so smoothly on the day of the install. While the initial design meeting and install did get pushed back due to high demand, they always communicated clearly and directly, which is all we really needed. Their estimate for the job completion (1 day) was spot-on. They showed and finished on time, and carefully walked us through each install, pointing out where we needed to be careful. Side note: we got closets at the same time via Costco, and that was a mess, similar to the 1-star reviews here. I understand that small differences in how they communicate and having correct estimates could make a world of difference. But we had a reasonably complicated setup (high windows, wonky corner), and our experience was pleasant, smooth, and of high quality. read more
