    Harvest salad
    Stacy F.

Four star view, two star food and service. I'll meet in the middle with three stars. Food selection is limited in the planetarium and we were in need of a refuel stop off. I had a salad and it was made fresh to order, which was nice since that meant they could leave off the walnuts as I'm allergic to them. Cashier hardly spoke and looked genuinely displeased at having to be there. She wasn't rude or anything, just indifferent completely. They give you a buzzer for when your food is ready. Best part of this eatery is the view. It had a truly stunning water view. You can sit in this area without ordering from the cafe! Overall: B- Just okay food and service but that view!!

This cafe is located in the Planetarium. Did not have any food choices close by so we ate here. Service was blahh...The employees looked sad to be working. Did not know much about the menu. The food was not expensive. Tried a bunch of different dishes. The salad came with really nasty, wilted, and old lettuce. The pizza and sandwiches were just okay. If I had to eat here again, i would just have a sandwich. Or maybe not eat here and eat before.. or after.. lol A definite plus is the view! You can see the Chicago skyline and the lake!

Fun little cafe for the kids, and they have wine and beer for parents! They have pizzas, salads and paninis. Really decent portions and reasonable prices since there isn't another restaurant nearby.

Cool cafe with great views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan that can be appreciated from either the terrace or the indoor dining area. The glass drum-shaped interior is very much in keeping with the planetarium's futuristic theme. I was pleasantly surprised that the menu included a variety of healthy choices, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. Their Harvester salad (grilled chicken, apples, walnuts and feta cheese) was generous, delicious, and fresh. It was the perfect mid-day meal after a busy morning packed with activities. The sitting space inside is clean, ample, and airy. The terrace also features plenty of tables for those wishing to enjoy the weather and eat outside. Service was prompt and cordial. I'm bewildered by reviewers complaining about the food offerings and pricing. Dining options that are part of cultural centers such as museums, aquariums, conservatories, theaters, etc., tend to be limited and more expensive than at regular restaurants. I personally patron them to support the institutions and have a nice memory of my visit. That said, Galileo's Cafe has really invested in providing a wholesome menu and this effort ought to be commended.

    Very pretty dining hall.

Cool little café in the planetarium with amazing views of Chicago and Lake Michigan. I got one of their boxed sandwiches which was pretty plain but not bad and my friend got one of the sandwiches they actually make although I can't really speak for its taste. Great place to sit back and chill though while waiting to go and see more amazing planetary stuff!

I got the BBQ pork bun and one of the bacon-wrapped pastries with an egg baked into the top. (I'm not sure exactly what it's called.) Both tasted great, and the bacon/egg one probably would taste even better heated up, but I wasn't sure if that was an option, and it was crowded when I visited so I didn't want to take up time at the counter. We originally stopped in for a hot colada and warm tostada. A delicious little pick me up treat to get us by as we braved the Windy City block by block. After having a taste and thinking back to line busting through their doors, we decided we had to try their meals for dinner. Thankful that we were able to locate their locations on all the delivery apps, we opted to dine in our hotel room and have the food come to us even if it impacted the flavor a bit. I'm happy to say, it did not. The food was as flavorful and delicious as if my abuela had just laid it on the table in front of me (although my grandma does burn the maduros for that extra sweet crisp IYKYK). The star of the show was the Ropa Vieja sandwich. Probably one of the best I've had. Even counting back home, in Miami. If you're a local or just in town visiting, this cafe is definitely worth a visit.

The pressed sandwiches are clutch for any kind of weather, and there's a wide variety to choose from. I went with the Chivito which has steak, ham, bacon, fried egg, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, onion, citrus aioli, and shoestring potatoes. If I didn't get that, I'd go for the Cubano or Jamon. They offer salads, plates (with rice, black beans, and plantains), and vegan specialties. Pair your meal with a café con leche or other coffee drink, and it's a happy day.

Silly, fun, and soooo tasty! We started with their Saturday special: a $20 bucket of 5 Polish beers. (Or you could get American beers.) To let everyone taste them all, we asked for glasses, which they brought frosty-chilled. The Tyskie Gronie is a golden color lager with a light hoppy flavor. The Warka Classic is more coppery in color, a little bready or malty, with some light herbal lemony flavors, with a drier finish. Okocim "O.K. Beer" is a pilsner, a bit floral and sweet, crisp, and lightly but sharply hoppy. These were great frefreshing pizza beers. They also had a wide range of beers from crafts to midwest standards. We also showed them the recipe for Orange Crush, invented in Ocean City, and Maryland's Official State Drink since Jun 2025. Hey, they've got a shandy on their menu, so we can order our fsvorite summer drink if we want during Chicago "false spring" heat wave this week :-) We shared appetizers of calamari and pierogis. The $17.50 calamari was tender and hot, lightly coated with crisp flakey salt and pepper crust, with spicy marinara for dipping and lemon to brighten the flavors. We cut the tender seared $13 pierogis to share the thinly wrapped potatoes & cheese, meat, and sauerkraut & mushroom, with sides and servings of homemade bacon-specked sauerkraut, sour cream, and applesauce. We would have ordered more of the peirogis, to have more than a few halves per person, but there was pizza work to do! Flo & Santos is (are?) serious with their tavern-style pizza! The crust is terrifically thin, like Italian piada bread, cooked crispy crunchy like a cracker, and cut into squares for sharing :-) Of course covered with all kinds of creative toppings, and red marinara sauce, or garlic cream white sauce, or no-sauce! We got the heart-shaped Valentines Feb 13-15 special with thin-cut pepperoni, lightly spicy and cutely relaxed about the exact shape :-). We added Nama's Veggie pizza, generously covered in tender sweet spinach, fresh tomato, bitey diced onion, chunks of sweet juicy green pepper, and a scattering of black olives and mushrooms for umami flavoring. Quite a marvelous collection of flavors. And we went a little wild with Marco's Italian Beef pizza! Don't shy away. They didn't imitate that classic Chicago sandwich. Instead, they lay that savory thin-sliced beef over tomato marinara pizza-sauce, then add a flsvorful zingy hot giardiniera, and make it even richer with fire-roasted tomatoes and caramelized onion. I think we got the $29 14-inch size of each pizza, plenty of deliciously-topped crunchy pizza for our group of six adults and three children, with some wonderful leftovers to take home :-) For a special dessert, they offered a super-cute whipped-cream-decorated heart-shaped strawberry $6.50 gelato with a chocolate-covered strawberry. When we saw the one, we shared several more around the table. A lovely refreshing finish. loved the food and drink, and the friendly attentive staff. We showed up without a reservation at 4:20pm on a Saturday, and with little waiting, they assembled a table for our group of nine. As we left two hours later, they were setting up a table for 20! We found street-parking pretty easily nearby for one car, and most of us arrived about two blocks away at the Roosevelt stop on the Orange, Green, and Red "L" lines. Come get your excellent Tavern-style thin-crust pizza!

It makes it a "one and done" place for me, which, funny enough, two different bartenders have asked me if my drink is one and done when they see I am paying cash. They do have a large outside seating area and some okay specials during the week. Bartenders are usually pretty attentive, but I cannot help but think they cater more to regulars sitting at the bar than others who are just popping in.
