Found myself revisiting the Galleria 7 Market as I had not a clue as to what I had a hankering for. All I can tell you is that [[HIGHLIGHT]]the variety of food vendors in this clean and fun loving space is excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Where else can you have pizza, sushi, empanadas, tacos, Indian food, bbq and the list continues all under one roof? On this particular visit, I got a burger from Billy's Burger Bar and a yummy crepe with Nutella and strawberries and bananas from the Skinny Pancake. These eats certainly hit the spot and I don't mind the wait when it's all made to order. Portions from all the food vendors here are generous. Go with a group so you can all share! read more

We ended up going with El Capital Tacos and they were delicious and flavorful, cooked very well. We love love love Galleria 7. Some of my favorite spots there did not return after the pandemic, but there are several new delights. Today, I saw a new BBQ place that sells fried green tomatoes. A couple next to us ordered a lot of food from them and I cannot wait to try their food. We had the wood fried pizza, which is always fantastic; tacos from Las Capital Tacos (my husband's favorite); and tofu ramen from Kobe Ramen. I did not enjoy the ramen which looked great because I was looking for more ginger and garlic. It was way to mild for my taste. If they had a veggie miso version, that may have been more my taste, but their miso has pork broth. I think if you love pork their pork options are likely very tasty because the food at Kobe Ramen smells great. read more

This is a nice indoor market with a variety of food vendors - they had burgers, empanadas, ramen and boba (which is what I got), Indian/Pakistani food, pizza, and more. Some of the places even served halal food, which I always appreciate. I got some seafood ramen and boba for dinner - the ramen tasted pretty good and had lots of fresh seafood. The boba was nice and refreshing. All the servers were very nice and friendly. The ambiance is more freestyle/cafeteria-style, as opposed to a nice sit down restaurant. However, I had no problem with that. It's easier from a logistics standpoint, since you don't need a reservation. This was my first time visiting here, so I didn't have to suffer through the slings and arrows that other people have gone through with their favorite places opening and closing. Currently, there are eight vendors operating in the space and one (a Pakistani/Indian spot) coming soon. When we visited, Charlie's Street Food (which I was excited to try) was unexpectedly closed, but that left us with seven vendors to choose from. My husband picked Falafel Express, and I went for Viva Empanada. He was happy with his lamb over rice platter, which was very well-seasoned and featured big chunks of meat (I thought they could have been slightly more tender). I really had my socks blown off by Viva Empanada, though. The service was incredibly sweet, with the guy at the counter patiently talking me through the menu options and then throwing in an extra free empanada to try when I was being indecisive. The arepa was delicious, with lots of cheese and tender braised beef piled on top. Both of the empanadas (chorizo and chicken) were very tasty and distinct-tasting, though my husband didn't like the kind of puréed texture of the inside of the chicken one. I also loved how thoughtfully the food was served and plated, with pretty ceramic plates instead of plastic. I felt like I got really excellent taste, volume and quality for the price here. The space itself here has the standard semi-industrial food hall feel, with the new pink and yellow neon from the Herbie's Burgers really brightening things up and making it look legit cool. I would absolutely come back here to try more places and/or return to Viva Arepa, and would also sacrifice a goat to the real estate gods if one of the developers currently busily building apartments in Downtown Albany would bless us with one of these in the Warehouse District: it would really be a great fit. read more

So fun! What a great local food market/cafeteria! Quite a few different cuisines to choose from. I'm sad I couldn't try them all my first visit. Definitely super clean and well taken care of. Plenty of tables and seating include high top counters. It's gets super busy around lunch time 11:30-12:30 so definitely take that into consideration or order ahead if you food/restaurant of choice allows that! Galleria 7 has been around for a few years and offers a small selection of foods. I did try two items from 2 different vendors. Both were delicious. At Korean street food, I tried the shrimp summer roll accompanied with a peanut sauce that complimented the rool. I did opt for spicy and added nuts. Was very fresh and over stuffed. Then to complete my dinner, I got the Greek Salad from the stall next door. Salad had lots of fresh veggies, 2 dolmadas (grape leaves stuffed with a lemony rice) with a side of dressing. Was good but many stalls are just empty now. Parking is good and outside seating was delightful. Hoping those that are there survive. read more

Updating my review from when this first opened six years ago. Galleria 7 is an 'upscale' food court modeled on a similar effort in Troy, and has spaces for around 8 food vendors. At one point before the pandemic, they were nearly full, and it offered a good place to take a picky family where everybody wanted to order something different, or a nice lunch spot if you weren't quite sure what you wanted. I won't go over the full history of the incredible and frequent turnover of food outlets here, which the pandemic certainly didn't help. The original anchor tenant, Hooked Seafood, has moved to a full restaurant space across the street -- they offered incredible service during the pandemic, including bonus groceries brought out to your car. The other stalwart of the old place, Anna's pizza, has also departed, along with every other long time tenant except for Kobe Hibachi. Kobe remains excellent for what it is, and visiting it is enough to bring us in from time to time. What we don't do anymore, though, is come and browse to sample different outlets. The lineup is too unpredictable and there have been a number of outright bad vendors that have come through. As of this writing, there's a newish 'autentico' taco place that is a bit hit or miss (a bit overstuffed and overpriced from the street tacos of my youth in California), an empanada-only place that is decent, a healthy-options fresh place, and purportedly a Vietnamese street food place that is never open (and may have gone out of business for all I can discern). Some problems persist with the whole experience that should be addressed by the management along with the lack of tenants and consistency. The industrial vibe is still fun (especially considering this whole building used to be a bowling alley), but the lack of real air conditioning in summer, or a buffer from the bitter cold in the winter, makes the decision to sit and eat in the place rather hit or miss. That discourages spontaneous "let's go to Galeria 7" decisions. The recycling is still non-existent and seeing the amount of plastic and styrofoam packaging thrown out is depressing. There are still no common amenities -- tap water with cups notably missing. And with both Anna's and the Meats place gone, there's no beer/wine option. (Why not try a mini wine bar, or a brewpub place, with the minimum requisite food to qualify for the liquor license?) Another pet peeve: they do not enforce the no-smoking rule outside. I hate, as a patron, being forced to confront smokers, and the latter know this and abuse it, because there's no management on the premises and the individual food vendors aren't going to bother. I recognize these are tough times, and still love the concept, but I have to be honest that it just isn't a destination the way things stand now. read more

Overall a good experience here. As others have noted, the selection of vendors varies and it is difficult to know what options will be open and available at any time. However, it is a good option if you are looking for a casual dining experience in a pseudo open air environment. They have common tables just inside the big open door as well as several tables outside on a sidewalk patio. Note: As of this writing they were dog friendly when dining at the outside tables. Not sure about the 'inside' tables. This may become an issue as winter sets in for dog-loving diners. Tried the Capital Tacos and had an assortment of chicken, beef, and pork filled. Fillings were generous in the corn tortillas and was a reasonable meal for $12. For about the same price we also had several sushi rolls from Kobe that were also good. We will likely return and try whatever options are available in the future. read more

Follow their Instagram for Daily Specials, their Paella was great but sells out quick. I haven't seen them open during the Pandemic, their Hours seem sporadic. A little pricey, but similar pricing for seafood overall. Tea & Tapa's closed: Loved their Lemongrass grilled Chick & Pork Noodle Bowls & Jelly Teas. Charlie's Vietnamese & Asian Fusion is now in that spot. Will have to try it. They have a similar menu & Pho. Anna's Wood-Fired Pizza Co.: is tasty & fresh. A bit overpriced, but I guess average for Wood-fired; as one-sized pie can mostly just feed one adult, or 2 small kids. $12 for a Margherita. $14-18 for other Specialty Topped pies. Haven't tried the Moroccan tagines yet, looks good but I mostly go for seafood. Hope they get more business. Same for the Sushi 'Burritos' & bento box Stall. New Stall: Dos Hermanos Tacos. Closed: White Apron healthy food & smoothies, Thai Rolled Ice Cream, Steak & Craft Beer Stall. Don't know if the Food Hall will ever be filled in their Stalls. A few tables on a Saturday night & slow stream. But overall it's not very busy during the Pandemic. ZERO Hand Sanitizer in sight, even at individual Stalls. ZERO Plexi Barriers at Stalls, people were even dining AT the counter on high stools at the front some of the Vendor Stalls, with Owner/Worker less than 2 Feet facing them. There IS a worker for the Hall that wipes down tables in between customers. Don't see much wiping on Doors or Bathroom fixtures. Hope they survive, good to have Options for groups dining & nice to have a Food Hall in that area. read more

I'm updating my review out of disappointment. We stopped in on a Sunday in the late afternoon. We were shocked when we saw that only 2 businesses were open! While I understand that it was a Sunday, this is a food court type of environment and it would seem that if the establishment is open then the businesses inside of it should be as well. In addition, I noticed that several of the closed businesses left out condiments and soy sauce cups. I worry about contamination or just having someone mess with the area as there was not security in sight monitoring the closed businesses. One entire side of Galleria 7 had closed eateries but wasn't closed off and anyone could gain access. It was because of these reasons that I removed two stars from my initial review. read more

All of the resto have good food with variation from mexican, colombian, pizza, burger, pakistani, even smoothie place. A good place to hang out with friends especially you cant decide what to eat. I live maybe 5 minutes away from here, I always like to try new foods. I mentioned to my boyfriend about the galleria and how we should go! So we did. And I'm so happy we did! They all all kinds of food here. Walking in to this place was definitely a welcoming vibe. All the different vendors were ready to help you & so nice! I ordered a burrito bowl. They were very accommodating and fast service. I asked for extra items, lime, and salsa. The bowl had black beans, chicken, onions, cilantro, squeeze of lime, shedded lettuce and rice. I was able to substitute items with ease. It was very tasty and way too much for me to eat all ! So take home was fabulous! I would go there again and just to mention the others in the group ordered coconut ice cream from another vendor. It was the bomb!!! read more

I first learned of it when my sister told me about Charlie's StreetFood (reviewed separately), and upon checking the market out, I discovered all the other places here. Living or working nearby, I could see myself coming here for dozens of meals, followed by gaining dozens of pounds. For me, this place clearly counts as a "destination." read more

It took a little persuading to get the BF here. "Food Court pizza does not sound appealing". Well, this isn't just any food court. When we got here, he was pretty shocked - not what he expected. It was also my first time coming here but I knew what to expect. This is an awesome spot. Upscale food court, something for everyone, wood fired pizza, fresh shucked oysters, freshly cooked rib-eye, Moroccan tajine; so much variety! The location is really convenient as well. Ample parking, right off Rt. 7 in Latham. There is a large dining area, and what looks like a patio for outdoor seating in the warmer seasons. On a bitter cold night, it was very cold in the dining area, mostly due to the lack of double doors and Anna's Pizza ventilating the wood fired oven in the back. In addition to the dining area, some of the stalls have a little bar to sit at as well. All the stalls are offering some kick-butt food. Hooked has fresh seafood that you can order to eat, or order to bring home. Their oysters are often highly praised, but on my visit the choices were sparse, so I will have to come back for them! Chops & Hops has fresh butchered items that they can serve up for you, or you can also have them to take home. I saw some steaks coming out that looks phenomenal. Anna's Pizza is offering up some classic wood fired favorites with great crust and char. There are a few more stalls in here too! Most stalls even serve beer and wine to go with your meal, and that's a great plus. This is a fun location, sort of like a mall food court and an outdoor market. We came on a warm evening and were serenaded by the sounds of a guitar/bass combo in the corner. It wasn't too loud or too soft... just right. There are various vendors inside selling different types of food. Japanese, wood fired pizza, seafood, steaks and chops, panini sandwiches, sushi, etc. I found the diversity of cuisines good but I think it is missing a taco stall. I came for the pizza, which I reviewed separately. They have outdoor table seating (I assume only for warm weather days), indoor tables, and some places have counter top seating. While eating our pizza, I realized I hadn't asked for plates and went to get them. It would have been nice if there was a central area with plates, napkins, and silverware. Trash was separated into different bins for regular and recyclables, but I didn't know if my silverware, our cardboard pizza boxes, and cups went in one or another. Hooked seafood got the freshest Briney buttery oysters I've had in the Cap Region. They also have delicious buttery lobster rolls, and fish you can ask to cook like branzino, cod, etc. Oh and military disc! The steak spot is not bad either, except they didn't render and crisp the fat-would've been perfecto and worth the cost. Also md! The Vietnamese bowl is good -chicken vermicelli. However, spring rolls were not very good last time. Also md! Rolling ice cream key lime and matcha are bomb! I had to take off a star be multiple usage of single use plastics. Hooked Seafood is outstanding as is Chops and Hops. The White Apron salad place is also worth a visit as is the wood fired pizza shop (can't remember the name). They could use an additional desert place as for now they only offer a specialty ice cream vendor - which is just ok - fancy preparation but that causes serving delays. I stopped at this place a while back because I heard about it and wanted to check it out. It is the former bowlers club bowling alley property. It's kinda like a food court at the mall with about 8 or so venders of different restaurants with prepared to order or take out for the many businesses located in the vicinity. Each vender has there own menu and there is seating for the whole area with huge garage doors that open for outdoor summer eating. I would compare it to Chelsea Market in NYC. To me this looks like a great idea especially if you work in the area. Very industrial decor which is popular now. Some of the restaurant venders are Hooked, Napoli Bakery, The White Apron, La Pasta, Anna's Wood Fired Pizza & Chops & Hops Meat Market. There are currently three different businesses operating here. Hooked Seafood Napoli Bakery Anna's Wood Fired Pizza Co. More business have signs hanging indicating they will be opening soon. (e.g., BBQ, & a catering business.) There is a common/shared eating area that seats approximately 90 people and an additional outdoor area is available seasonally. The decor inside is open-industrial with visible HVAC, steel girders, and hanging light fixtures. As long as the businesses serve quality food at reasonable prices this could be a popular place for a quick meal or takeout. I've only tried Hooked Seafood so far and it was good enough to encourage me to return. See separate reviews for Hooked Seafood for greater details. When my wife and I stopped by here, the seafood side of the market was closed so we settled on a different location for dinner then returned here for dessert. I tried some bubble tea (a flavored tea with tapioca "bubbles") which was tasty but which left a odd aftertaste I didn't really enjoy. I had more success with an order of banana and chocolate rolled ice cream. It was both a show and a treat as you get to watch them pour cream and ingredients onto a cold surface where they combine them like you would see at a cold stone but then, they spread the mashed up ingredients thin and even across the platform and when it begins to freeze they scrape it up in such a way as to cause it to roll up into a ice cream tube. They then place each individual tube into your bowl and present it to you with any additional toppings that you request like a ice cream bouquet. I would be interested in returning to this place to try other interesting dishes and meals when it is more busy and more stalls are open. In the mean time, I heartily recommend the rolled ice cream and bubble tea so long as you have some bottled water on hand to wash out the after taste. read more

This past weekend my son became a bar mitzvah. To celebrate friends and family from all around the country traveled to the Capital Region. The big event was Saturday morning. The big question was what to do on Friday night. Some people eat late. Some have young kids. Some needed to eat and run. Some wanted to linger. Some are adventurous eaters. Some prefer more traditional foods. Some were arriving rumpled right off the airplane. Some would be coming dressed in clothes for evening services. Galleria 7 Market was the perfect place for everyone to gather, find food that sounded good to them, and eat at whatever pace they desired. This past weekend, two stalls were empty, and that was a problem for a couple of reasons. First, I had no idea that my kids favorite macaroni and cheese was no longer available. Second, with fewer options the line at the seafood place was crazy long. The upside is that Tara Kitchen is coming to one of those stalls, and looks like it might be opening soon. And also the pizza place makes an oven baked macaroni and cheese that the kids also enjoy. It's really a treat to have a spot in Albany where one can enjoy some of the more current food trends like rolled ice cream and sushi burritos. My friends from D.C. and Chicago were suitably impressed. And everyone was able to find a meal that hit the spot. read more

What can I say , I have enjoyed this place since it open. Theres been a few bumps and bruises along the way, continue change over, except for about 4 spaces. This trip I tried the greek food station. I got the lamb and beef mixed gyro and fries, it came out hot and the fries where the good ones that had crunch to them. The gyro was stuffed with meat, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. The meat was spicy, well spicy for me but tender and delicious, the pita was grilled to perfection and was soft but not soggy . I would enjoy another round from them and hopefully they stay here. One item on the part of the dining area side, go when it's nice out, its limited seating and fills up fast around the lunch time hours. read more
