coffee tea baked goods menu from Baking me Crazy is now closed but relocated here!
Sharon W.

We are so happy to find that V and R is still around just in a new space! Although we loved the intimate space on Madison Avenue their new location is the Italian benevolent association tucked away on exchange Street off of Everett Road, which seems befitting. They have incorporated their daughters Baking me Crazy business which close and she moved out of the area. So they're now serving breakfast lunch and dinner. The dining room is the ballroom so there's plenty of space for social distancing, there's a pleasant music playing in the background and festive holiday decorations. We were pleasantly surprised that the menu and food was consistently good and prices were adjusted slightly which can be expected due to this Covid. Portions remain consistent so you'll have at least another meal maybe two out of your dinners. We had never tried the calamari before as an appetizer and it was excellent and paired nicely with the marinara sauce. As usual you get a hot bread and plate salad which is perfect portion. Although they didn't have a wine list just ask Sasha we opted for a carafe after we tasted a few of the house wines. There is a full bar as well. They brought on a young man who is also an excellent waiter so service as usual was pleasant, Relaxed and efficient. I opted for my usual veal Parmesan well my spouse had the eggplant Parmesan and asked for additional marinara which was not a problem. We didn't have room for desserts but they had an expanded list due to the bakery now on premises. We wish them well and will look forward to returning soon!

Had an amazing meal. The chef let me just sort of make up my pasta/meat and sauce options. I loved it!

Hands down, the best eggplant parm I've ever had in my life. Everything was fresh, light, and delicious. Don't pass this place by.

55th Anniversary Celebration at Grappa 72…read more Met with a smile at the door by Sage. Welcoming our party of 15 to our "home" at Grappa. Shown to our table and met with hugs by our usual server, Sienna, and the man about the dining room, Ogre. For nearly 4 hours we laughed, told stories and celebrated in the atmosphere of home that is created by owner Armond and his staff. The food is second to none. But it is truly surpassed by the service and feeling of home that is Grappa. Sienna and Ogre met our every need. No they anticipated any need we might have had and delivered like the experts they truly are. Additionally, Malina, another fabulous server made sure to drop by our table to offer her congratulations like any family member would. Grappa is a true gem. It is not going out to eat. It is not dining. It is truly an experience that is difficult to explain! You have to be a part of it to really understand what this place is all about. Call now! Make a reservation for 2 or 22 ... you will be glad you did. There is a good chance we might be sitting right next to you! Dr John Metallo

She had lots of recommendations for what drinks and dishes to order, and she was really attentive towards our party. When we sat at our table, we helped ourselves to the fresh table bread and tapenade while we decided what to order. I decided to get the seafood special, which was a grilled branzino served with blistered green beans and wild rice. While the dish tasted a bit too oily for my liking, there was LOTS of food that came with this dish - enough for me to pack as a lunch the next day! What was also memorable about this experience was the live music playing at front. This is a very nice Italian resto for special occasions and date nights.

The cuisine was Italian inspired, and heavy on vegan and gluten free option, which is a great find locally, if you're looking for that. We were sat upstairs and I enjoy the ambiance here. I will note that the chairs are uncomfortable, which does not make a cozy dining experience. The cocktail menu was really great, a lot of gin options which is right up my alley. I had the Corpse Reviver and a glass of wine, both were great. We started with the shrimp balls, which sounded intriguing. They ended up being delightful, almost like loose crab cakes. The flavors were great and I loved the pesto. For my entree, I opted for the lemon mushroom tagliatelle. The pasta was very fresh and chewy, loved that. I enjoyed the combination of lemon and mushroom on the dish, but there were so many different mushrooms of all different textures, that some bites were more enjoyable than others. The snapper puttanesca was gorgeous as well. Overall it was a good meal, but I might have liked it a little more before the change. Definitely a great option if you are looking for dietary restrictions.

I arrived for my reservation as my partner was parking and sat for 10+ minutes before someone even acknowledged I was there and offered water. When they came in, a waitress came over and apologized for not offering me water while I waited. Fine. We went to order dinner and it took 25 minutes for THE WORST gnocchi and tagliatelle to arrive. The gnocchi was supposed to be cacio pepe and it would've better served as wallpaper paste. The tagliatelle had zero taste or flavor and the noodles were raw. Both came out cold. The only saving grace was we didn't have to pay for the monstrosity of a meal and we will never have to go back.

We went to Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse last weekend with a party of 10. Our group meets up once a month and tries a new place each time. I had been here once before over the summer and had a great experience then. That time we were seated in one of the alcove style rooms. It is not fully private but it definitely feels like your own space, and it added a lot to the atmosphere. The food and service were excellent on that visit, and the birthday person in our group loved the theming of the room. This time we were supposed to be seated in the Sinatra room. After our reservation time passed, the hostess came over and explained they had made a mistake with the room booking and it was not available. They moved us to a large table in the main dining area and offered us four appetizers on the house to make up for it. That immediately smoothed things over, and no one in our group had any issues after that. Mistakes happen, it is how a place handles them that matters, and they handled this very well. The main dining area has a nice ambience, but it is a bit noisy compared to the alcove spaces. Food wise, we had a wide range, steaks, chicken, veal, and some gluten free options. Most of the group had alcoholic drinks, while a few of us stuck with soda and water. One friend said the cola he got at the bar while we waited was flat and he skipped it after that. I tried a soda at the table and mine was fine. He later had a lemon lime soda, not sure if it was 7Up or Starry, and had no complaints, so it is possible they changed out the CO2 in between. Service really stood out. It is not easy to manage a table of 10, but our waitress was outstanding and very friendly. We were served in a timely manner, and several people commented on both the portion sizes and the quality of the meals. A few in our group even said they felt the pricing was a bargain for what you get. Overall, we will definitely be back. Scheduling errors and things out of the staff's control happen anywhere, but many places either do not apologize or do nothing to fix it. Here, they did both, and their solution was more than generous. Kudos to them. 4 stars.

We usually love this place but the last visit was a disaster!…read more First we had a reservation and showed up on time - got to the table up by the bar in one of the cubby's Got drinks so far so good. Then manager came over and said he had to move us not sure of the issue but he comped our appetizers - we were sat at a small booth and we are 4 tall larger people it was pretty tight and we were seated below the cappuccino maker causing frothed milk to spray down towards us - they need to build a wall there - wish I had a video to show y'all. Then the food... 2 of us ordered filet mignon it came out burnt and over done it looked like a burnt hamburger very thin (not the way a medium and medium rare filet should be obviously) Who let that even leave the kitchen! The waitress noticed right away and sent them back - manager came over and said oh sorry it depends on who's in the kitchen - what? Wow blew our minds -- ok so the next one came out still black but cooked a bit better - no filet should be black they apparently smooched it on a grill ugh! Needlesstosay, we did not eat it All Other friend had a steak and it was tough Not good
