I had my first haircut somewhere else and unfortunately it didn't turn out right. When Jessica looked at my hair, she noticed a lot of random short layers throughout that didn't really make sense (which I didn't even realize at first because it wasn't super obvious). She took the time to fix my side bangs and blend everything properly, and my hair looks so much better now. She also did my partner's hair and really listened to the inspiration we showed her. Jessica doesn't rush her work at all she takes her time and really polishes everything toward the end so it looks just right. The lounge itself is clean, cozy, and has a really welcoming vibe. We were lucky to get an early appointment, but I can see why she gets booked quickly, so I definitely recommend scheduling ahead. Highly recommend Jessica. I finally feel comfortable trusting someone with my hair here in Fairfield!

I reached out to Jessica via text and she responded the next day, she asked what I was thinking of doing, asked for pictures of what my hair currently looked like, etc. I was able to send her pictures of what I wanted, she was able to give me an estimate of how much the service would be and was able to get me booked the same week. The salon was easy to find, parking was fairly easy, my appointment was on a Monday morning at 9. I thought it was going to be there for the majority of the day but to my surprise, everything was finished by 12pm. Jessica was super sweet, make sure I was comfortable, listened to what I wanted and executed exactly what I was wanting. Thanks Jessica!

I'd been before and have extremely curly hair, I booked an appointment with Jordan and she cut it in a way I'd only dreamed of having it cut. However, when I went back for the second time, it was the worst customer service I've ever received anywhere. I booked the service online (haircut only) and came all the way from Sacramento. I arrived on time and Jordan was finishing up with a client. She never greeting or acknowledged me (which I thought was weird), but w/e. Then the last client was taking 15 minutes over, and never once did Jordan make a remark acknowledging it, apologizing or still greeting me. The only reason I knew she even knew for sure I was her client was because I was sitting at a waiting bench directly near her section, and she clearly called on me next after finally finishing the first girl. I finally get in the chair and think it's weird, but again, I loved the cut the first time and was excited. We move on. The entire time Jordan had the most negative energy I've ever experienced with anyone. She was in a bad mood. Apparently there had been an outage on the entire block that had the power go out the week before or something? And all she did was complain about the cost of everything it was going to take to repair and replace her washer and dryers for the studio. Yes, it's a super unfortunate circumstance, but when I tell you none of this was a business-level appropriate complaint about a bad time kinda thing, trust me. I mean it was a "if this is my problem, it's now EVERYONE's problem" kinda energy. Like, girl what? lol She just kept going off... everything was everyone else's fault about this. Tbh- I'm not much of a talker at appointments, so I get hair stylists needing to chat with the room about things, but this energy was diff. Long story short, the appointment I booked was at a rate that was set very clearly online. When we finished, she charged me $50 more than the pricing online. My hair is not extra long, its curly but not matted, not difficult, none of that. Nor was there any explanation given to her from the jump in price. Tbh- I paid it. I knew I was never coming back after that. The entire time she complained about how much everything was costing her and I knew in my gut she was taking it out on clients to pay for it extra even though the agreement online was completely different. On top of her being late and not greeting me, I knew this was something I'd want to tell others about. ---- Main Point, TDLR: The reason I gave it was a 2-star is only because the haircut was good. If you want a good haircut, sure, maybe. But if you want to support good people in your community. Don't go here. There's too many other talented stylists out there to support economically. And if you do.... make sure you are 100% clear up front with Jordan about how much you'll be paying beforehand. Best of luck.

I debated posting because I don't like to be confrontational in anyway, I was going to brush it off but it's very disappointing to think about. Starting off they have an App called Vagaro they use to book appointments, I was Denied twice. Their reasoning was because they were booked.. ok so why let me book? Just get rid of the app and have people call. I got the number of a hairstylist through a friend. I got in pretty quickly, after that. My apt was set for 5pm, was asked to come in at 4 instead, sure no problem. I got there at 3:50 and the stylist was not there yet. She arrived about 10 min late, walks in and doesn't apologize. Says "are you so & so's friend" I say yes. Has me wait to be seated because the chair was dirty (with hair) she still has to go get her tools. Needless to say it took about 15-20 min just to get started with my hair. She asked how she was going to cut it I said right under my shoulder, & point the where I want it. She asked if I wanted layers I said no, just straight so it grows out evenly. The hair cut itself took quite a while. What was strange to me was that I wasn't facing the mirror, had I seen what she was doing I could have pointed out her mistakes. (now I now to ask to be facing a mirror whenever I go get a haircut.) Also my daughter was there but she was on my phone most of the time, so there was really no reason for me to not face the mirror. But anyway, after she finished cutting it she started to curl my hair which made it significantly shorter. Almost the length that I asked for but in reality it was no where near. I only got to see my hair after she curled it and it looked nice, I was pretty happy leaving. It wasn't until I showered and noticed everything that was wrong with it. One side (as pictured) is completely longer than the other. When I threw all my hair back (also pictured) it showed just how badly cut it was. It was also longer than I asked but that actually came in handy after I found another hair salon that was able to take me in the next day to fix it. I did attempt to text the Hairstylist letting her know I was not happy with my hair cut. She was responsive for about 15 min then she stopped texting me back. I text her later that night after not hearing back from her all day letting her know that I had found someone else for the next morning and I thanked her for her time. I honestly wish I could get my money back, I've never had this bad of an experience at any hair salon. I paid $55 and left a $10 tip, and to fix my hair elsewhere I paid $45 and left a $10 tip.. that's $120 total, which is insane if you ask me.

I had a very special event to attend and wanted to look great! I decided to get my hair and makeup professionally done just to ensure I looked my best! I had previously been to The Gallery, I had my hair and make-up done for my wedding and wedding party, it was FABULOUS!!! So I decided to go back for this special occasion, I asked for the stylist that had done my hair and makeup for my wedding, they informed me that she moved out of the area and no longer worked at the Gallery. I asked if the receptionist could recommend another stylist for hair and make-up. She recommended another stylist (I wont mention her name) and I booked an appointment. I brought several pictures of the very casual hair style I wanted and pictures of makeup examples. Overall I wanted a simple and not over done look for this afternoon event. After 4.5 hours in the chair and being late to my event because of the amount of time I spent in the chair. I left with curllers in my hair and was told to take them out once i got to the event in the car. When I took the curlers out my hair had no curl to it what so ever, just clumps of hairsprayed straight hair! It looked awful and I had no time to fix it, My hair was awful and my makeup was so bad that in the car on the way I removed my make up. I paid 160.00 for this service and to tell you the truth I could have done a better job, my husband could have done a better job for that matter!!!! To top it all off, the next day I checked my bank statement, I saw 2 charges from the Gallery one charge for 160.00 and another for 60.00. I called the salon and after holding for 10+ miinutes the manager informed me that the stylist ran a tip thru for 60.00!!! I did not tip the stylist and she knew I left unhappy and then intentionally and fraudulently charged a 60.00 tip!!! The salon did refund the 60.00 tip and 80.00 for my hair and makeup. read more

I had no idea that the Gallery or any such salon & spa existed. I was in dire need of a cut and a new style on the day before Easter and Dominique squeezed me in with Amy. I told Dominique my needs in a stylist during the initial call and she matched me to Amy. Good Call !!! I showed Amy a picture of the cut and she was off and running, LOVE the cut, LOVE the style, Loved the view of the Yacht Harbor. Amy listened to my wishes, made suggestions and gave me more than I expected. Dominique then squeezed in my friend who needed a new style and she is in her 80s. The Gallery easily crossed generations and adjusted the my friend's style she had for many years and took 10 years off her face - and her attitude. She will be honest with you and tell you,if what you want will work or be good or not. She's honest and doesn't just do what you tell her and collect the money. I have been going to The Gallery for about 5 years! I absolutely love it.. The ambiance is outstanding.. I feel completely pampered when I go. Kim does my hair and she is great! I also have had a few massages and most recently a facial by Sara, their new esthetitian. She is wonderful! For most of my life I've kept my hair cut low but the last couple of years, I've been growing it out. I've maintained it on my own with a twist it up comb , curling up a little for but started testing out twist curls at home thanks to my husband. I found the shop on line, went to their site and read through all the profiles and Lizzies spoke to me. The shop is warm and welcoming when you come in. They have you wash your hands before you get settled. She washed my hair which was my first time having that done and it felt great. She twisted me up and put my under the dryer and I'm really happy with the results. I'll be back for sure!

I love seeing Black owned businesses being successful! My hope is they will consider following up with potential new clients in the future. It was hard for me to trust again. Ana the hairstylist at Salon 5 reassured me, that she would be able to fix my brassy orange hair. By the fourth hour I couldn't take it anymore and I left before my head was even finished. She never even got a chance to style my hair. She was so gentle by the time we were finished I was able to move and swing my hair without any pulling or discomfort. My hair was so full and it lasted me so long probably longer than it should've.
