Appointment today with Montress at 11:30am. Entered the shop and had temperature taken, hand sanitizer was supplied and was asked to wash hands. She disinfected her station and you know what time I was in the chair being serviced? 11:30! It got even better from there. She was very informative about what she was doing with the cut and why. I could feel the passion she has for what she does. She asked me was I satisfied throughout the cutting process. She also suggested me to check back with her after I washed my hair because it's naturally curly/wavy, (I came in with it flat ironed)to make sure I was completely satisfied with my cut. Back to Montreece, she knows hair care. My hair is Grey and I wore natural curls for 5 years. I was ready for a change but had concern because grey hair is challenging. Montreece listened to me and addressed all my concerns. She then transformed my hair into a beautiful silk press using electric flat irons only. I received so many compliments. I was new to coming to this beauty bar. The staff were great, very welcoming. The salon was clean, very well kept. Shaundria was the person that did my passion twists and she did awesome. I was not sure about the style because I never had them but they look great. She used 6 of the 7 packs I bought but I have really thick hair and a big head. We used water wave passion twist hair. I've came here a few times and had my hair done by a few different ladies there and have loved it every single time. This was my first time getting a sew in, so I know nothing about them. I loved the quality of the hair I purchased from inside the shop, I loved the shampoo/condition the girl working on my hair did, but I was so bothered and upset with how it looked like from the front even after the second attempt, there was such a noticeable line in the front where the closure would start. I tried to hold it down for several hours and keeping my bangs in front of my face to mask it as much as possible, but it only helped so much. These pics were just two days after the second attempt, so I have hard believing that my hair grew out and caused the style to look like this, when from my understanding, I should be able to go a couple weeks with it looking decent. Possible I don't understand how closures should look but either way, bit disappointed with how it went down. read more

I came across this place on accident. And I'm super glad I did! I needed a trim on the top and a fade in the back. Tanisha was willing to squeeze me in last minute before her next client and she did not disappoint. This was my first time in a salon in years because I usually just need my fade touched up and it's hard to find people who can cut curly hair. Now it's officially my new spot. So, I had my first time experience getting protective style done as I started my natural hair journey last October 2019. I did the big chop and wanted to explore more styles without the excessive heat damage. I was recommended to Shaundria and she did amazing! My daughters and I come to the Platinum Beauty Bar regularly to get our hair done by Lucinda. From my observation of the other stylists, I can say that all of the stylists here are great at what they do and it's obvious by the smile on their clients' faces as they look at the finished product in the mirror and the extra pep in their step as they strut out of the salon. The environment is modern with a chill vibe that's welcoming. The prices and services are similar to what you would expect from most salons. My Platinum Beauty Bar experience was so great. I couldn't wait to write out this review. My first impression walking in was like, wow this place is decorated so nice and it is very clean. Great ambience, good vibes from all the stylists, everyone was so welcoming. I know some hair salons you walk in and everybody may look at you and not speak. I was greeted soon as I walked in. (Which I think is very welcoming and important as we know first impressions matter.) I've been in twice and I loved my experience each time. The place is beautiful, including the bathroom, it's big and spacious. I think it's great that they take walk ins. I was so surprised at the uneven, choppy, butchered cut that I got that I couldn't even comment to the woman who cut it. But now I will: worst haircut of my life. I came in and asked if she could trim up my bob-haircut so that my grown out undercut was the same length as the rest of my hair. Now my undercut is longer than the rest of my hair in some places while I have many pieces that are completely uneven and the left side of my hair is an inch longer Han the right side. Very disappointed. Only got one start because she got me in right away and the price was decent--had I gotten a good cut. read more

I was referred to this salon, and booked with a different stylist than recommended. I was able to get an appointment the same week! She was polite during our conversation and my visit. You must sign a waiver upon arrival, and wear masks during the visit. I like their sanitation protocol where your temperature is checked, hand sanitizer is issued, then proceed to the restroom to wash your hands. The stylist overall was polite, but I did wait over an hour past my scheduled appointment time before I was seated. My hairstyle was really nice, but I did notice a little uneveness in my haircut once the curls were gone. read more
