On a whim, I wanted to get my hair cut so I pulled up Yelp to assist me in finding a salon that'll rejuvenate the follicles on my head. Come to find out that the place is usually go to has a sad yet honest rating so I thought that I'd take the latter. My second choice was closed on Mondays and I really felt the need to get my hurr did today. So upon querying the word "Hair Salon" in the search, Suki's Hair Salon popped up. I was pretty impressed that all her clients have given her 5 yelp stars and that she was constantly mentioned in the Regis Salon yelp reviews. So I gave a call and she was more than happy to fit me into her schedule. This place is pretty small, cozy, and warm. I really enjoyed Suki's conversation while she was cutting my hair. Her personality is very welcoming. In fact, I admitted my late obsession of Korean food and she referred me to a new Korean Restaurant that just opened two blocks away, she even gave me a coupon of 10% off. I was kinda considering getting bangs but she was able to sway my decision since my hair is course and thick (It would be difficult putting my hair up). First time going here - took my 7 year old son to get his haircut. She took us in as a walk in and was very pleasant with my son. He got exactly the haircut he pointed out in the book she had. He looked like a different kid. I am definitely going to give her a try since I travel all the way to the city to get my haircut done. I will update my post after I do. I came to Suki's for a haircut after reading the great reviews here on Yelp and I was not disappointed. Suki made sure she knew exactly what I wanted before she began cutting, and also checked with me throughout the entire process to make sure I was happy with her work. She was also very patient and took her time, even though my appointment was later in the say (4pm), which I really appreciated. I have very thick Asian hair so I always opt for layers, but it's often hard for me to find a hair stylist that can do this look correctly. I am really pleased with Suki's work! The layers fall evenly and flatly, and my hair feels much lighter. I definitely plan to come here again :) To top it all off, her personality is amazing. I haven't had a haircut in over a year and my godmother and my auntie suggested I go to Suki's, they give nothing but the highest praise for her. So my auntie messaged her for an appointment because she is a busy hairstylist, which is totally okay, I think the next appointment available was 1 week. Which is totally okay because I had no idea what I wanted. So I went with my godmother's mother and my auntie. And Suki's place is cute, clean, and not hard to find, there's parking pretty close by if you can't find parking on the street. Anyways, Suki is the sweetest nicest hairstylist. She's so open and will do her best to make you look awesome! I have super thick dark brownish black hair and everyone I've gone to ((besides my old hairstylist (whose shop closed down) and probably Kenny (from Kenny Salon but he's not that friendly))) doesn't know what to do with my hair. And its even more difficult because my hair had gotten so long. Suki is so kind she asked me what I want, and tbh I didn't know what I wanted, I just had simple instructions, bangs? And very little layers? And not to take off too much? And Suki, she's a magician I swear. She improvised and didn't waste any movements, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for but she made me look fantastic for my head and face shape and hair type. She'll do whats right for you specifially. Because what we want isnt always the best for us, you know? I'll post a pic, but anyways she added fringes for bangs (I wanted bangs on my forehead but she knew that my hair better than I did and improvised fringes which was totally genius because after she said I should show my forehead rather than hide it, I was like that is so true omg) and she changed my hair out of my usual A line and gave me layers at the end of my hair. She told me my hair looked so heavy and i was like omg right???? Now my hair is super light and cute. Oh I forgot to add that I told her I usually put my hair in a ponytail (cuz that's my "I'm busy or working out" hairstyle) and she left a good amount of hair to ponytail up! And she was so kind in explaining during and after what she was doing. She checks up on you the whole time she's cutting your hair. She's the best, I swear. And you can tell she loves her work too. She even gives you tips on what to do like how to style your hair at home. And omg my hair is so versatile now I'm so happy. I feel so pretty! Also, fyi I didn't get a shampoo with my cut so my haircut was $35 but its $45 with a wash. But yeah, I definitely want to get my hair washed next time. But luckily she gave me all her contact information and her shop isn't that far from the mall so I was glad to drive to her new shop. I don't know how she does it. I had my hair cut by Suki when she was at Regis Salon. When she left to start her own salon, I nearly freaked out about losing another favorite stylist. Luckily I was able to obtain her information and was able to continue going to her. No one I've gone to texturizes hair as good as she does! Since I have really thick, coarse hair, I need a lot taken out of it to lighten it up and give it movement. She always does it just right. I leave her with great shape and style to my hair. I also followed Suki from Regis at the mall. There was a bit of some reluctance on my part because I'm unfamiliar with downtown Fairfield but the location is very easy to find. Suki cuts my hair just as well as she did before. I'm not entirely sure what she does but she adds this amazing shape to my hair even though it's a pretty straightforward fade. While out running errands, and with only a day before a special family gathering, I found myself in desperate need of a haircut, so with a quick Yelp search and some reading I came across this hidden gem! All of Suki's reviews are spectacular and she has also been reviewed multiple times on the Regis Fairfield Yelp page, as that was her previous place of work. In a rush, I opted for a walk-in and hoped she would be able to take me. As I was walking up she had just gotten one of her regular customers started with hair curlers, and thought she may not have time to get me in at the same time, but not to worry she took me in and got right to work!!! Before picking up the scissors and clippers Suki made sure she knew exactly what I wanted and even asked if I would prefer clipper, scissors or both, being that my hair is short and some people prefer one look against the other, I found that to be extremely professional and thoughtful. From here on out she continued to be a friendly host and was so quick with the haircut! Keep in mind this all happened within about 25 minutes and I walked out with the best haircut I have ever received and not once did I feel the least bit of discomfort or concern!
