On a work trip and this was the closest to our hotel so we decided to try it. View from the patio/outdoor deck is of the marina. I had the fish and chips (their most popular item) and my husband had the BLT. The size of the fish pieces were HUGE and the breading was good. Overall, we felt the food was okay and filled us up but flavors weren't quite there. The fries were crispy and were probably the best part of our meals. Service was good (they were short staffed but our server did a great job managing all the tables.)

So outside the door, there was a sign along with a sign in sheet that seemed to imply I should wait there for a hostess (the lines with the names and everything). It was a slow weekday lunch though, and the place was not even half full, so I assumed it was from the day before? I was the only customer outside the door. I'd only stopped for maybe two seconds before an employee happened to come out to walk around to the outdoor seating, I think? He didn't even acknowledge my existence. Being antisocial and apathetic, I elected to ignore his existence also and walked in. After walking in, I immediately run into another stand/podium thing that made me feel like I should wait there. Once again, I was the only customer there and another employee immediately walked right past me without acknowledging my existence. Neither deterred nor offended, I immediately walked past her as well, saw the mostly open bar, and sat down. As I'm sitting down, the woman bartending greets me. All that just to say I relate to some of the negative reviews about service being unresponsive, but also kind of don't care. Lmao I got a blue moon and a prime rib dip with onion rings. It was definitely better than I expected. The meat slices were thin, tender, and juicy. I consider thin to be a good thing here as it leads to meat that's easier to make tender, juicy, and seasoned, as long as there's multiple slices. The cheese was cheesy. The au jus cup was a good size, very dippable. I guess I prefer a thicker bread for a dip rather than toast, but sourdough is a good choice if you're using toast. The onion rings were also large, specifically the actual onion inside the breading was also substantial, which I appreciated. It was also a generous amount of ranch and a light horseradish, way more than I needed.

Great food and amazing view from the patio! Their fried zucchini is battered and cut lengthwise. The portion is huge' yum! The fish and chips plate is huge and amazing. The service is not on point (maybe bar was backed up?) had to find someone a couple times but the server herself was nice.

    Bad happy hr

Happy hour was over at 4. Who does that? They should have it til 7. People work til 5. Clean the bathrooms. And hire more help to serve people. Drinks are full of ice. Beers are $10 ? Place looked old and the tables were from the 80s. Old and ugly. Stay away from this place go to Gaylord hotel next door.

This was ok. The service was not great - even for a mid day lunch where they weren't busy but well staffed. The Great: The fish & chips were really good The Good: The Onion Rings! The Bad: The slow & not-so-friendly service The Ugly: Zero pre-bussing done. Had to flag for refills and kept all the empty cups throughout lunch.

    Fish & chips.

What a great little marina side cafe! The best fish and chips. Comfortable outdoor seating. The chairs have seat cushions! Walked here from the SD Trolley and took the Flagship Ferry back to downtown. A great meal on a cool little day trip.

We took our buddy out with us, loved to go out and enjoy fish so got there right before the band Manzanita Blues..they have scheduled of bands that play up til next month different bands And weekly happy hour prices too But Wednesday is Cheese burger &. Fish and Chips on Thursday's are $16.99 Today there wasn't a big crowd but the server was serving us all. And not friendly not all. I watch her go from table to table And no help. But the hostess up front was handing hands and kissing a guy. While they didn't help her. Our food was good and band played and it was busy and good music they played Etta James and bunch more songs Then we walking around the marina a gorgeous day

While I was in Chula Vista I wanted to take a look at the new Gaylord Pacific Hotel. It was lunchtime and I noticed this place right across the street so I decided to go in and give it a try. It seemed like almost everybody there was seated out on the patio deck overlooking the marina. It's covered and weather permitting, this is a nice place to sit and eat. I also noticed that practically everybody was eating the Fish and Chips which is identified as "World Famous" on the menu, so I ordered that too. They gave me an enormous portion with four pieces of cod fried to a deep golden brown. The meal was substantial and very good tasting. They charge $21.99 for this meal, which is not cheap, but considering the quality and the size of the meal, I think it was definitely worth it.

Needed to kill some time at the marina and saw The Galley was open early but couldn't find a breakfast menu online so decided to take my chances and fortunately they do have a breakfast menu. The chilaquiles were very good and my friend had no complaints with the spinach omelette. Prices are kind of high but portions are large. The place wasn't busy when we arrived and our orders were quickly taken and the food arrived soon after, but service after that to see if we needed anything or for drink refills was nonexistent. It was a chilly morning and the patio heaters provided the right amount of heat.

Had an excellent meal at The Galley at the Marina -- the fish and chips, calamari, and tuna melt were all delicious and fresh. The service was incredibly fast, and we enjoyed the beautiful waterfront view. There was live music playing, and while there's a small $5 fee to sit in that area, you can still hear the music throughout the restaurant. Perfect spot for a relaxing meal by the water!

We ordered the fish and chips -- they serve generous portions of cod along with plenty of fries. Come between 4- 8pm , enjoy their Happy Hour for Fish & Chips for $16.99 !!! It was great to have dined in the patio to overlook the sailboats. Our server gave us wonderful service and made sure that we were well taken care of. The Galley At The Marina is quite accomodating since they're pet-friendly for ALL outdoor seating. :) Make sure to check this restaurant out!

The inside has a nice jungle/plant vibe -- warm, inviting decor that feels intentional without being overdone. Service stood out right away. Our waiter was attentive and checked in often without hovering. I ordered the Pupu Platter during happy hour, and it's a smart move if you want variety. It's just enough food for one and gives you a sampling of different menu items. The Korean-style wings had good flavor and just the right level of spice, though I wish they were a little crispier. The sliders were straightforward -- nothing groundbreaking -- but well made and satisfying. Fries came out crispy, which I always appreciate. My wife had the poke nachos, and those were the sleeper hit. I was skeptical about the pico at first, but it actually added depth and balance. The sauce tied everything together nicely. We also ordered a mocktail and one of their signature drinks, and both were well crafted. Overall, a great dinner with good energy, solid execution, and attentive service. A few small tweaks could push it to five stars, but we'd definitely come back.

From the start, our server was inattentive and seemed completely dismissive when we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. There was no acknowledgment at all, which made the occasion feel overlooked. To make matters worse, on a Friday night they were out of all draft beer, which was surprising for a restaurant and bar that promotes its tropical cocktails and lively atmosphere. Dessert was the biggest letdown. The mango sticky rice was honestly one of the worst versions we've ever had--poorly prepared and lacking flavor. The chocolate cake was so dry that it was practically inedible. The tropical décor and hidden tiki speakeasy "X" are interesting concepts, but the poor service and disappointing food overshadowed what should have been a special birthday celebration. We left feeling let down and will not return.

I chose So Fresh and So Clean, which exactly was the taste when I sipped this drink. The garnishing was minimal, so I was a little disappointed that the presentation wasn't that great. I ordered Just like candy and I loved the candy garnish as this was a fun twist to this drink. I did want the cocktails be a little more alcohol forward since I didn't feel it very much. Service was okay as we had to flag someone down to place another drink order. This place will reopen again soon and I'll try the cocktails again. Nice place to relax and unwind before or after dinner or in the morning with your coffee.
