Prices were not as inexpensive as I had expected, but they were still definitely better than the mass supermarkets. They had a good selection of ethnic mate as well as regular meat. They also had a lot of other stuff in the market that he might not find elsewhere. Parking is pretty good and it is close to West San Jose, which means no long drives out of the area. I would recommend this place and will be coming back more often in the warm weather when we are barbecuing.

So, I had a doctor appointment and I was on the bus. I went to a market across the street and as I was walking, I saw that there was a Sprouts in the mall. I didn't see it from the street until I got close up. So I walked around and I got a few things. When I went to the register, the gentleman at the register seemed kind of fun and snarky. I told him that this is nice, I'm glad to see it. I didn't know it was here. He said, 'Too bad there's not a big sign on the street to show where it is.' I said, right and smiled. I guess the next shift person traded places right then. She was very sweet. I finished and walked to my bus stop. That's when I noticed the sign he was talking about. I couldn't see it from the side of the street I entered in. I felt pretty stupid. I probably won't go back to this store. I work in customer service and get the snark. Customer service is not easy. I'm new to the area and he made me feel stupid. I would get it more if I had approached him with snark but I didn't. I was genuinely delighted to see the store there. It's a nice location and well stocked. I've always loved the produce. 4 out of 5 is a good score. It's a nice store but I will not be back.

That my friend is standard practice. The store was very helpful, identified level of ripeness in the different fruit we purchased so we knew how many days each one was likely to need to complete ripening before we ate it. I really love going to the Santa Clara Farmers Market as it's the closest one to my house and…read morehonestly it's become my little Saturday ritual. It runs from 9 AM to 1 PM and I make sure I'm there almost every week. First stop is always the Beckmann's stall. Their chocolate chip cookies are my favorite especially the double chocolate one. I also love their breads the cheddar jalapeno, seeded sourdough (all time favorite) and sun-dried tomato focaccia and roasted bell pepper ones are amazing too! There's a kombucha stall and the guava flavor is my go-to. And there's this older man who sells honey including actual honeycomb and it tastes so fresh and real. He is really sweet and hardworking and I always end up getting some honey. There's always pleasant live music playing and the whole vibe is just happy. Also, there's a stall that only has apples of all kinds and they have fresh apple juice and that's so refreshing! There's an Indian food stall that I still haven't tried yet. And there's a bakery with lots of croissants and pastries, they're good but I don't usually get them because they're cold and when I reheat them at home they get soft. I do like their cheesecake though. Last time I picked up some handmade soaps from one of the stalls, eucalyptus poppy and lemongrass ones. The smell really lingers in the best way. I also got a body butter and it's nice. There's an Asian guy who sells vegetables and I always buy sweet potatoes from him. They're smaller than the ones at regular stores but they're incredibly sweet! I get like a kilo every single time. And there's a big fruit stall where I try whatever seasonal fruits they have and they give you a lot of samples to try. It's not huge yet so much to explore and it's perfect if you wanna support small businesses and have some yummy food, produce and it's worth going every Saturday!

So you and your mom go in, and there all these tiny aisles stacked high with all types of food, especially international food. And you get to look around and pick out a bunch of cool new snacks to try and check out the entire store and it's really great. And then you go home and eat it, and you really like most of them so now you either have to find a way to buy it online or drive all the way over, but maybe it's worth it! That's basically what my experience was!

So, besides a coffee respite on historic Murphy/Evelyn streets, I now had a reliable source for a green/mineral-rich banana that was more carb than sugar. This busy market certainly had the green bananas I needed (its maturation into more sugar was now stopped because my much better half peeked and froze them); the highly efficient clerks steadily checked out customers, all of whom patiently waited for our turn. I was tempted by other fresh fruits/veggies/other foodstuffs, but we gave a limited amount of space available in our tiny temporary address/fridge. I was extremely pleased with my purchase--and future purchases, and certainly give it my coveted "iWheel of Approval!"
