I stopped in to check out the prices on meat. I heard that they are a great butcher shop. It's a small spot that sort of inconspicuous. The meat looked fabulous. Prices were not as inexpensive as I had expected, but they were still definitely better than the mass supermarkets. They had a good selection of ethnic mate as well as regular meat. They also had a lot of other stuff in the market that he might not find elsewhere. Parking is pretty good and it is close to West San Jose, which means no long drives out of the area. I would recommend this place and will be coming back more often in the warm weather when we are barbecuing. read more

I walked in there with my service dog, and I was questioned about my dog. I informed the cashier that my dog was a service dog and she proceeded to ask for my service card, but I told her I shouldn't have to do that. I left the market since she wanted to still question my service dog. I'm new to San Jose and thought this may be the best place to shop. Never going to shop here. read more

Hidden Gem for Meat Lovers & Fresh Produce Fans! If you're anywhere near Campbell and you haven't checked out this Mexican market, you're seriously missing out. I stopped in on a recommendation and was blown away by both the selection and quality--this place is the real deal. The meat counter is the star here. They carry prime cuts and even Wagyu beef, which is almost unheard of in a neighborhood market. I picked up some beautifully marbled ribeyes and a couple of Wagyu New York strips that were melt-in-your-mouth good--better than some steakhouses, and at a much better price point. The butcher was super helpful and clearly knew his stuff. Beyond the meat, the produce section is incredibly fresh and well-stocked. Think vibrant chilies, ripe avocados, fresh herbs, and tropical fruits you don't often find at chain stores. Everything looked hand-selected. They've also got all the authentic Mexican staples--fresh tortillas, pan dulce, salsas, and a great selection of spices and sauces. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is bc there's too small, too crowded, and there's not social distance. Also cashiers area needs to be more improved (private) bc people are just right behind you. Overall, very good meat quality not bad smell like other meat departments/groceries. read more

New Mexican market in da hood. Just opened 3 days ago. I have been anticipating the opening for over two years now it's so great to see them opened at last. It's located where the old RadioShack used to be next to the 7-Eleven on Penn Avenue in Winchester. The inside was filled with smiling happy employee faces. They have a pretty good selection of vegetables at a decent price, they also have a big meat section and even have fresh shrimp. Lovely, well organized and spotless little market offering a large selection of fresh vegetables and fruit, meats, seafood, spices, typical grocery items, fun snacks, drinks, pan dulce, and more. I only stopped in this time to pick up some specific produce that I needed, but I did take a walk around and I will definitely be returning. The prices are excellent, the parking lot is of ample size, and the staff are all very nice. I follow their Facebook and IG to see what the specials are each week and I actually really enjoy watching their promotional videos. They're always so upbeat and it makes me smile. This market opened during the pandemic across the street from Safeway. It's a small market and may not serve well as your primary grocery place, but serves well as a secondary one especially to get good meats and fresh produce. The reason why I enjoy coming here so much is that it's so easy to get in and out. You can park your car, walk in, ask for some meats, and checkout in less than 10 minutes. They always have someone in the butcher area, and a person at the checkout. read more

They carry some great USDA Prime steaks and chops in addition to the usual suspects of carne asada, etc. Their marinated Al Pastor de puerco is the BEST! The produce if fresh and the avocados always have a good mix of ripe-enough-to-eat-now and harder ones for later in the week. And their house-made avocado salsa, omg, it is addictive. Meat, vegetables, and great snacks! Overall store is very good at taking care of store and keeping it well-Maintained. I have no complaints in this department! I do feel uncomfortable and very unpleasant going in to get meat in the MORNING from specific males (carniceros). I understand they have a job, which is also called multi-tasking! You work and help customer! Customer service is #1 priority! I'm one occasion I had tried to buy meat and it was frozen. I had asked if they had any non frozen since it does cost more! They said no and that there was no difference in cost! I told him I worked in weighting items and he couldn't tell me that there's no difference. He even rolled his eyes! Ever since then it's like a bother to help me get any kind of meat over the counter! Ever since then I prefer to get help from another person, he would be snappy and attitude. He would see me and make a comment. I have to wait for another person to help me so it's not a inconvenience! I do spent good money there every morning! I went into this store today to pick up some marinated beef for tacos. Everyone was super friendly and helpful while I was shopping. The store was super clean and organized so I felt super safe shopping there since everyone was wearing masks and the cashier sanitized the counter before I checked out. First saw this place after shopping across the street at a large well known grocery store. Couple days later decided to check it out and am so happy I did! When I need fresh produce or any Mexican related food items, this is my new "go to" location. Everyone working there were super friendly and helpful. And I could sense their passion in what they have to offer when I was asking for recommendations. Melvin was awesome and sure enough he remembered me when I returned a second time. Love supporting small businesses like this. One thing my wife noticed right away was how super clean the store is and she's very picky with that kind of thing. I live within walking distance from this store and have seen the commotion of the remodel. Also the competition in the area is really lacking so I was eager for this store to open and it didn't disappoint. The decor along with the organization and cleanliness of the store is first rate. They have a huge full service meat department that sells all types of meats to fit your needs. The staff was warm, friendly and eager to help me.
