We were pleasantly surprised! Great food, good service. Pork Tenderloin sandwich - so good! I didn't even need to add mayo, which is typically a must for me. This place really sucks. they stop selling food at 9pm. the females that work there aren't even attractive. they don't have good sports programs on for people to watch. they have online pricing that's over 10 years old so you get a big surprise when you get the bill. Honestly when I saw the description for this place as "Classy" and "Good for kids" I just had to laugh. The place is a site to be hold, the main building is small and dark as hell and it opens up to a stage and a massive open area what looks like it used to be a barn with a few picnic tables and pool tables. You would put a picture of this place next to the the description of "Dive Bar". I've been lucky enough to have left in time to miss the live music but unlucky enough to experience the overwhelmingly loud heavy metal music while I'm trying to eat. All that and I haven't even reviewed the food and service yet. The food was okay at best if not a bit inconsistent with how good it is. I've had their burgers and what I guess you can call cheese curds and it was all around forgettable. The service has been a joke the past two times I've visited. The waitresses aren't rude, but either are too focused on each other or just straight up disappearing inside where you'd have to hunt them down if you wanted the check do you could leave, which you wouldn't think it's possible to have to try and hunt down a waitress when the building is the size of nickel but here we are. All and all, I'm not going back. I would recommend if you like loud metal music. read more

I came here with my husband after we had to put my cat of 20 years down. Drinks and service was good, we did not order any food. I saw this episode on bar rescue today, things look better, but it is still a honky tonk hole in the wall, Not that there is anything wrong with that. I actually prefer bars where you have a chance to get to know the regulars. We have since moved a good distance away, so not sure we would be in the neighborhood any time soon. As for the bar rescue show, it was reported that John Taft was a bit of control freak and quite rude, but that is hearsay so I can't attest. The Goose, as the locals call it is a fun place to grab some food and a drink. It is as much a landmark as Tag's is for Coolidge. I've been here a few times to meet friends and always found the food tasty and service good. It might not look like much from the outside, but it is really worth the stop (particularly, if Tag's parking lot looks full)!!! LOL read more

I went here to meet a friend who lives in Florence and suggested it because it was recently on Bar Rescue. I am not sure of what the place was like before, but, after waiting 20 minutes to have anyone on staff approach us, it should have gotten better...it didn't. We waited over an hour for two club sandwiches and I had to go to the bar for a refill on my Coke. The "club sandwich" was missing tomato and bacon!!!! And had American cheese when it said Swiss?!? Oh boy, this place sucked and it's a shame. The customers are good people. The guy at the next table who waited 20 minutes for his burger (after all his friends on the same order had been served) offered to sell it to us! This place is just nasty. There customer service is non-existent. Trust me, it's the very definition of a dive bar. Go somewhere else.

The food is hit and miss. I guess it depends who's cooking. I've known people that have been there and raved about it. On my very first visit, it was a BIG MISS. My burger was so greasy my bun disintegrated before it made it to the table. The paper under the bun also fell apart and mixed with the slimy bun. They used Romaine lettuce on the burger which also was wilted and greasy. Our server was very helpful and took the issue to the cook ( Scott the owner was cooking that day). Whose response was "what do you want me to do about it?" He did not come to the table, apologize, offer to make it right in any way. The Goose is on Bar Rescue in July and there has been a lot of physical upgrades, but all the upgrades in the world will NOT fix bad food and POOR ownership. read more

We went here because it was on Bar Rescue. After this experience I can safely say, some places are not worth rescuing. If Jon Taffer considers this a success, he needs to stop rescuing bars. After waiting over 40 minutes for our 2 burgers with frys and a BLT, what we got was as close to right as California is to Japan; it was cooked meats. Personally I believe they gave some of our order to a different table since some of our food was warm while the rest was cold. Even after pointing this out, the expression from the waitress was liken to a deer in headlights. Only the Cowboy burger was correct. 1 out of 3 is not bad I guess. What they did next to correct the issue should have been accompanied by Benny Hill music as they scraped the wrong toppings off of the burger but forgot to look under the burger to see the "addition ingredients" that the other person probably ordered and remove them as well. The well done frys were as soggy as oatmeal and cold to the touch. Actually all 3 orders of frys were cold and soggy. None were cooked well done as ordered. The now Frankenstein burger was cold to the touch. The only thing warming it was the new toppings covering the residue of the wrong toppings combined with the "additional ingredients" under the burger left a taste similar to a nuked, week old, freezer burned, stale burrito from Circle K. Though the burrito probably would have tasted better. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression. My first impression of Gallopin' Goose, keep riding another mile to Circle K, you will thank ,me. Oh yeah, the bar fly scoping out the bar using Selfy mode on your IPhone, creepy, real creepy. Kinda stuck up too, why not MEET you patrons, not SPY on them. She jumped in as they wondered how to fix our messed up order. You know who you are. Real creepy. read more

Not good. Caesar Salad was a bagged mixed lettuce with Caesar Dressing. Fish Tacos were just okay. Plan on leaving smelling deep fried, yuck! Not sure if the Bull Riding is a separate deal but we were told by staff that the cost was $5 to get in (back of outside bar area), once we got there the guy said nope it's gone up to $10. Another lady in the washroom said her family worked there and it's alwats been $5. The a waitress came out to confront him but got no where. We all ended up leaving so they missed out on 6 customers. I held my husband 75th surprise birthday party (he is a very young 75) at the Goose on March 18th...I chose a Sunday because any other time the Goose is hugely busy. Scott and Amber were wonderful. The food was great and plentiful and service impeccable. My son, who has and still does manage casinos from border to border and coast to coast, commented the occasion was perfectly run with top notch service and professionalism. A huge compliment from a young man who's managed the best of the best casinos in the country. If you are looking for the perfect setting for your special event....try the Goose...you'll get the 5 star treatment you expect. And if you are looking for a great band for your event, Rowdy Johnson was awesome...plays true country and specializes in Waylon tunes. Can't go wrong with this young man. Saw an episode of Bar Rescue on The Galloping Goose. I live in South Phoenix so I figured I would take my girlfriend on a little road trip to try it out. I thought it would be neat to see the place in person but when I got there it was nothing like on the show after it was rescued. I didn't recognize anybody from the show the waitress was very rude. I even heard another person from the table sitting across from us say that they weren't going to tip the waitress so I knew it wasnt just me. The food was alright but nothing to get sentamental over lol. You can always tell what the kitchen is like by the cleanliness the bathroom and it was a mess so I won't be going back there. read more

We had my dad's surprise 75th birthday party at the Goose last night. We had over 50 people descend on the place and we could not be happier with the food and the service. The appetizers and catered food were just delicious! The fried cheese curds and the pulled pork were amazing, and it's no wonder the Goose is becoming famous for its fried pickles alone. The service from the staff was absolutely impeccable; special shout-out to Amber, who made everything come together! All in all, everyone at the Goose took what was already a special night and made it legendary. read more

What a bummer, won't go back. Most things involving our waitress took a MINIMUM of 10 minutes, with some taking 15-20. The place was basically empty, 8-10 other dining patrons. Waitress came by and greeted us (10 mins) without menus or silverware & napkins. Table was sticky, now it's drenched. Took 10-15 mins to get the check AFTER we finished. I brought the check up myself (as did another table), didn't have all night to wait to pay. Bathrooms were disgusting, looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Other reviewers nailed it - Some places shouldn't be "rescued" and most "rescued" bars (etc) that don't change ownership revert back or worse. 2 stars is for the bottled beer and the French fries, entrees were only so-so. read more

The Bloody Mary I had was ok, but it took forty five minutes for us to get two sandwiches, the pastrami was really good, but the blt couldn't even be picked up as a sandwich. Also, even though at least three waitresses were working tables stayed dirty for the entire time we were there and we had to end up asking for our food to go because of how long the wait was. I honestly never write reviews on here, but this place seriously deserves like 10 stars. Okay so long story short, the atmosphere was amazing, super chill definitely the best bar I've been to in Arizona by far. Also, the reason I went to this bar is because I went on a tinder date (I'm new here and don't know anyone) so this guy takes me to the bar and get absolutely s*** faced and starts being a total a**hole and the bartender, Sarah was seriously so sweet and gave me her number to make sure I got home okay. In the 4 months I've been here I don't think I've met anyone as nice as the people I met in that bar, absolutely would recommend coming her and Sarah you are wonderful you need a raise! read more
