This was our second visit to Burano .. we were Very hungry and stopped at several places trying to get a table with no luck .. i guess they had reservations ... but we could get right in and be seated immediately. theres a reason there is no wait .. it's not very good. the service was prompt and polite but I specifically said i wanted either risotto or carbonara ... I got a very plain seafood pasta .. that was very bland and unimpressive. I gather this has been bought out by Chinese since most of the staff seemed to be Chinese .. the service was fine but the food was disappointing.

Our best meal in Venice!!!!!! Seafood was just magnificent! All fresh and perfectly cooked. Service is warm. Ordered the Fried Calamari, Lobster Risotto, Fish Risotto, and mixed grilled seafood platter. So happy with the food, we ordered seconds! Wonderful experience.

Decent little spot to come grab lunch on Burano though not great. We enjoyed getting out of the hot air and grabbing a beer with some seafood pasta. They have an Italian, English and picture menu which can make things confusing. We started with the seafood platter which I wouldn't do again, just go for the calamari. They served raw scallops which was interesting but not all that flavorful. Lobster pasta was really good! Seafood pasta less so.

So food, as a teaser, you have to fly out here to Venice, Italy

To eat here is a blessing, on this beautiful small Island in Italy. Its impossible to cook or eat bad food here. Theres no way room for disappointment, its worth every euro spent. The food is made just for you, wholeheartedly authentic and organic, well sautéed, perfectly spiced, and looks so good, you would want to waste time reading this review, go ahead and go here, plus free wifi. Ciao!

They had AC inside and it was nice considering it was a hot day. Only reason I gave only 3 stars is because the one server was sort of rude. The table next to us didn't want wine and just ordered water. When he turned his back he was rolling his eyes. Maybe they don't drink or want to hydrate with water (which you pay for anyway) since it was hot outside. Then when they didn't order more expensive food items he also seemed disgusted and annoyed Everyone else there was great but it makes me wonder what he did to us since I just ordered spaghetti with butter sauce. (wasn't that hungry and just wanted a simple pasta dish) if he doesn't approve of such inexpensive food items maybe he should suggest them be removed!!! He was the rudest person I have encountered this whole trip to Italy.

Scampi is cut up shrimp added to the standard risotto with fish flavored sauce. I thought it was good. Maybe not authentic enough but I researched the other restaurants and they are about the same. Like all other restaurants they charge for bread as a cover fee. I would avoid the spaghetti with butter sauce. It's what it's called so nothing special about it. The next table ordered the grilled fish. This was quite a show. They present it in a platter then transfer it to the 2 dinner plates. They remove the fish bones and dish out the fillet. The left overs (bones) gets tossed with salt/pepper and they pour the fish juice over the fillet.

A taste of history & tradition…read more Our lunch at #TrattoriadaRomano was unforgettable -- nestled in colorful Burano, this fourth-generation family-run gem has been crafting its iconic risotto the same way since the 1920s, and you can feel that legacy in every bite. The dining room is a living gallery -- walls packed with hundreds of paintings and sketches gifted by patrons over a century. Among them: cartoons of Ernest Hemingway in a hilariously manic duck-hunting scene -- and his signature even adorns their guestbooks. We ordered the legendary "risotto digò" (go‑fish risotto) -- a creamy, umami-packed delight. No cream; just perfectly cooked rice in a deeply flavored fish broth made the texture silky and indulgentTruly, risotto that feels like history on a plate. "A taste of history and tradition" is no exaggeration -- this dish and entire atmosphere are one-of-a-kind. From four generations of love to the art-lined walls, every detail made our meal "unique and awesome."

As a vegetarian, I was afraid I wouldn't get to try any cicchetti as it typically contains meat, or I'm charged the same price for cheese alone. Trattoria de Romano has a variety of cicchetti that ranges in price depending on the ingredients. There was a great variety of vegetable based options, each for only €1.50. I tried the pomodoro, the asparagus cream, the pumpkin cream, and the artichoke cream. The pumpkin cream was my absolute favorite as it was sweet and smooth, but with the pumpkin flavor strong and authentic, not fake or sugary. The artichoke was my second favorite, followed by the asparagus and pomodoro. Pomodoro was delicious and bright, the tomatoes covered in garlic and basil, but it was my own bad for getting a less unique choice, which is why it is listed last. For my beverage, of course, I chose a spritz, a Spritz Bitter, which was a wonderful complement and much larger than others I have ordered, without being watered down either! Service was quick and kind, even giving me recommendations (which has been rare in Italy haha) Stop by and try a few bites!

We had a great day so far and then fate decided to screw that up. We went to Al Vecio Pipa because it looked nice and had air conditioning. The restaurant was NOT busy (I can see why now) and we asked for a seat. The man in black in the photograph sat us and asked what we would like. We told him we would have some drinks and that we weren't hungry as we just had lunch. He quickly snatched our menus from our hands and told us the bar was down the street. Now if It was just me - I would of just rolled my eyes and took my money elsewhere. However, my wife was with me and where I'm from you don't talk to a lady like that. We stood up to leave and I told him sternly he was very rude and he proceeded to cuss me out in Italian. I turned around and took a picture of the restaurant and the waiter for clarity. He's the one in the black shirt with the look of a lonely life on his face. We left and spent $500 elsewhere. Avoid this place at all costs!

Now onto the less good stuff: Everyone here other than us seemed to have gotten good service. Not sure what rubbed the man wrong about us but we never got our dessert and he kinda just threw stuff on our table as he walked by. My husband's lasagna was totally cold on the inside. They have tables outside but then won't let you sit at them which is odd. They also kept saying they only opened two weeks ago, but they have signs for awards from the early aughts in the window and google reviews from years and years ago. Overall this place just doesn't make sense to me and watching several other tables get their meals and checks and leave that arrived way after us was just not great. The food was good, but the restaurant was somewhat dirty. I dropped something on the floor and found the floor was caked with dirt and debris. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.
