The supervisor came out and I gave him a walk through of my house a few weeks prior to the moving day. I had a lot of out door plants and such. He suggested a second truck if I wanted to be sure everything got moved because it would be more expensive to come a second time. He quoted me $1300 and said that would assure everything got moved at once. When I called him back to book, I secured two trucks. A few days prior, I called because I was concerned about the 90% chance of rain. He told me it was not a problem and the move all the time in the rain. On moving day, no one showed at 8am like I was told the day before. I finally called at 8:30 and the same supervisor told me a couple of guys ran late and they would be coming soon. I was not happy being it was not raining yet and we were missing out on the window of opportunity to move stuff while dry. At 9am I called again and he told me they were leaving and headed my way. When they arrived at 9:30 the moving began. When they got to a couple of glass cabinets I asked if they were going to wrap them in anything. They said they would but then I noticed the work stopped and I was told they had no wrap and were sending someone to get it. After a good while someone brought wrap and my cabinets were wrapped and moved. The rain started to come down hard but the moving continued. I had told the supervisor prior that I needed my things in the attic moved as well and he assured me they would get them but in the stress of the rain mess, we left without it. I realized when we left so I called the superintendent and he said they would bring it tomorrow so I said okay. When we got to the new house it was pouring rain. They emptied one truck and started the second but then the supervisor asked me if they could bring the remainder of the second truck the next day because it wasn't letting up and the guys were soaked. I said it was fine if my things were secure overnight and they said yes so I agreed. He returned shortly and said they needed the truck so they would need to finish so I said that's fine. He leaves agin but then returns to say the guys don't want to finish and they'll keep my stuff on the truck and finish in the morning. The next morning I get a call to meet at my old house at 11am so I arrive but they don't show until 1p. They start tossing boxes down out of the attic and I heard glass so l asked they not throw boxes (I later found they broke a Christmas figurine in a box) We returned to the new house and they unloaded the remaining boxes. The supervisor tells me the total was $1900. I asked how the total would rise $600 and he said because they had to stop because of the bad weather and come a second day. I was floored! I told him I called to ask about the pending bad weather but he assured me it would get done regardless. It was not my fault and at no time was I told that there would be a higher charge to come the next day. I never would have agreed to it. He yelled at me that it was not his fault they stopped due to weather and he wasn't going to come out a second time for free so I once again told him I was not going to be gouged (and his crew was an hour and a half late missing no rain time) while he NEVER mentioned additional charges. I paid him $1300 and they tried to have me sign the $1900 invoice. I refused to sign until they changed the amount. Beware of this Jesse guy. He's a crook imo

I've dealt with other movers who you could tell just wanted to run the clock and waste time and get you to spend way more. These guys were amazing! No messing around, they came in ready to work and got it done! Very nice and kept me informed about any issues that came up while moving. Very careful of all the furniture, wrapped and handled everything with care. The deposit was low and the ending price was awesome! During my recent move, I decided to give them my repeat business. Huge mistake. You get what you pay for. They quoted $110 per hour plus $70 admin fee, minimum 2 hours. That was fine. However, when they showed up, they advised that they charge $15 per roll for shrink wrap. I was in agreement with using the shrink wrap and blankets but they advised they were not sure how many rolls they would use. Then it was changed to 3 rolls. I've used movers in the past and they have always included shrink wrap and blankets in their pricing. However, I've also seen how the shrink wrap is used and 3 rolls is grossly overestimated. I've included a picture of the shrink wrap roll for reference. After signing for them to start the job, a never ending agreement about the number of shrink wrap rolls they would use, and the clock already ticking, I agreed for them to move forward with the additional $45 scam. Instead, they went outside, spoke amongst themselves and someone on the phone and advised that they would not be completing the job and left. I called the primary phone number and spoke with the owner who advised me that I should have accepted the scam pricing from the beginning and then disconnected the phone call. Cancelling a job because you don't want to be called out for overcharging for shrink wrap that should be included in your job is ridiculous. Moving is stressful. To walk out on someone during a time like that is not someone that deserves your business. The bright side is that I had another moving company's card on my door. I contacted them and they were available in the late afternoon. They ended up coming a few hours earlier. The price included the shrink wrap and blankets. They completed a HUGE job in 2.5 hours. I paid more per hour and tipped the 3 movers well. The fact that Astros Moving Company attempted to ruin my day over $45 is ridiculous. They would have made much more than that in tips and repeat business. Edit as of 05/09/25. In response to the owner. I NEVER advised them that I did not have the money to pay the ridiculous $45 for three rolls that were clearly not going to be used. After agreeing to disagree, I actually advised them to move forward. They chose to walk away instead. Not only did I pay more than the $45 with the other moving company, I tipped them generously. In business, some things are about the principle, not the money.

I interviewed about 6 moving companies and right away from talking with Abner I felt comfortable. Other moving companies were very persistent, trying to sell me, and seemed dishonest. Abner was very responsive and straight forward but did not contact me again after initial quote until I decided to go with him. He garunteed pick up date and arrival date (and time and was 10 minutes early each time!) which was huge for us as our move had to be very scheduled and other companies quoted us a 2 week interval (or more!) of when our items would be delivered. His crew in Houston arrived and packed our entire apartment, included disassembling basic items. They were extremely professional and efficient. Every item even valuable and breakable items arrived in perfect condition. He met us in San Fransisco 5 days later and him and two others unloaded all our boxes and assembled any dissassembled items. Again very professional and efficient. Iron back movers turned what could have been a very stressful move into 0 stress. Abner was extremely hardworking, professional, and easy to work with as was every member of his team. We hope we can use him for any future moves even though we are no longer in Houston!

They were very responsive when we inquired (via text) and I liked that they charged per hour based on the number of movers you requested. We scheduled the moving date, signed a contract, and were ready to go! On moving day, the movers arrived promptly and they were so quick in moving everything! within two hours everything had been moved out of our townhome! It took them another hour and a half to move everything to the new place. Very impressed! They also wrapped certain pieces of furniture for us and disassembled as well as assembled others. Cost was reasonable as well. I would say they are more cost efficient compared to other movers we had inquired. Overall we had a good experience with iron/back movers and would use them again for our next move!

These guys are a joke. They showed up to pack up my house but scraped my solid wood furniture on…read morethe walls and ruined a dresser, chest and my footboard to my bed. They were supposed to show up at my house the next day to unload the truck and nobody ever shows up and nobody answers when I call 100 times trying to get ahold of someone. The owner also didn't give me a receipt and when I call later in the week to ask why the hell they didn't show up and to get a receipt he starts yelling at me and tells me it wasn't his fault, even though he is the owner, and continues to talk to me like a complete dick. If you want to maybe have someone show up, who possibly got out of prison yesterday, to pack your valuables and ruin half of it then you should defiantly call them. Otherwise use a reputable moving business.
