Easy does it is a farce. When they moved me in Galveston they did not have any moving blankets and damaged most of my stuff. I tried to tell the owner what happened. Upon return call he said he interviewed his people and they did not know anything about it. They tire a door off of my $1500 armoire and denied it. As i was leaving they had a lot of my furniture sitting on its side on concrete. I will not use them again and recommend you don't either unless you enjoy your furniture being damaged. read more

I used Easy Does It Movers first about 10-11 years ago and I was happy with the services so in November I decided to use them again for a move. The supervisor came out and I gave him a walk through of my house a few weeks prior to the moving day. I had a lot of out door plants and such. He suggested a second truck if I wanted to be sure everything got moved because it would be more expensive to come a second time. He quoted me $1300 and said that would assure everything got moved at once. When I called him back to book, I secured two trucks. A few days prior, I called because I was concerned about the 90% chance of rain. He told me it was not a problem and the move all the time in the rain. On moving day, no one showed at 8am like I was told the day before. I finally called at 8:30 and the same supervisor told me a couple of guys ran late and they would be coming soon. I was not happy being it was not raining yet and we were missing out on the window of opportunity to move stuff while dry. At 9am I called again and he told me they were leaving and headed my way. When they arrived at 9:30 the moving began. When they got to a couple of glass cabinets I asked if they were going to wrap them in anything. They said they would but then I noticed the work stopped and I was told they had no wrap and were sending someone to get it. After a good while someone brought wrap and my cabinets were wrapped and moved. The rain started to come down hard but the moving continued. I had told the supervisor prior that I needed my things in the attic moved as well and he assured me they would get them but in the stress of the rain mess, we left without it. I realized when we left so I called the superintendent and he said they would bring it tomorrow so I said okay. When we got to the new house it was pouring rain. They emptied one truck and started the second but then the supervisor asked me if they could bring the remainder of the second truck the next day because it wasn't letting up and the guys were soaked. I said it was fine if my things were secure overnight and they said yes so I agreed. He returned shortly and said they needed the truck so they would need to finish so I said that's fine. He leaves agin but then returns to say the guys don't want to finish and they'll keep my stuff on the truck and finish in the morning. The next morning I get a call to meet at my old house at 11am so I arrive but they don't show until 1p. They start tossing boxes down out of the attic and I heard glass so l asked they not throw boxes (I later found they broke a Christmas figurine in a box) We returned to the new house and they unloaded the remaining boxes. The supervisor tells me the total was $1900. I asked how the total would rise $600 and he said because they had to stop because of the bad weather and come a second day. I was floored! I told him I called to ask about the pending bad weather but he assured me it would get done regardless. It was not my fault and at no time was I told that there would be a higher charge to come the next day. I never would have agreed to it. He yelled at me that it was not his fault they stopped due to weather and he wasn't going to come out a second time for free so I once again told him I was not going to be gouged (and his crew was an hour and a half late missing no rain time) while he NEVER mentioned additional charges. I paid him $1300 and they tried to have me sign the $1900 invoice. I refused to sign until they changed the amount. Beware of this Jesse guy. He's a crook imo read more

We used this company twice in the last 6 months. They are prompt, reliable and trustworthy. I felt comfortable having these men in my house. They were attentive and anything I asked, they had no issue doing. It made our moves so much easier. We had James, Jay and Landon. This time around I used them 2 days in a row. They packed my storage exactly how I wanted it. The next day we had them move stuff to the house. It was quick and easy. There was an item broken the first move, BUT they replaced it without any issue. I would recommend them 10/10! We will be using them again the for next move. We had a simple request for assistance to move a heavy piece of furniture from our garage to our living area in a beach house. All we needed were two men w/proper supplies & equipment - they could easily come out in a small pickup or car. My husband had initial conversation and text communications on Tuesday, establishing the price and requesting the service to be scheduled any time on Thursday. Then we experienced crickets... No follow-up. No response to text asking if they were or weren't coming. Guess we'll go back to Clear Lake Movers who we have had excellent service from over the years -- will likely cost us more since they are not local to the island. Shame. Based on other recent comments, evidently their experiencing some type of issue -- that happens -- but communication with existing / new customers is vital... to do otherwise is poison to a biz. read more

I needed help with a unique project while also being out of state. I requested a quote for the packing and moving of all possible items from a 3-bedroom house and to have them delivered to a donation site. The gentleman I spoke with initially (Jesse) was very responsive and forthcoming from our first communication to our last. The project included a couple of hiccups we were not ready for, and Jesse remained patient while we found a solution. Additionally, I was given two quotes; one for a 4-hour day and one for a 5-hour day. On the day of the move, I was informed that one of the crewmen had called in sick and so my hourly rate had been discounted, which was reflected honestly in the final cost. We had a terrible crew. They were slow and kept blaming me. They weren't careful with our things and kept running into walls. They complained when they had to take things up stairs. They left boxes all over in the middle of the floor. We paid a lot of money and it was awful. My husband called to tell them and they did nothing. I've used this company many times and have been happy with them, but during this last move we had some items damaged. I expect that to a certain extent but we had an expensive piece of furniture damaged in the move. I've called and emailed repeatedly and have had no resolution. I did manage to get the lead guy on the phone once and was told they weren't responsible for damage during transit, but that I would be receiving a call about the issue. No call came and tried several times after to get more clarification. Not responsible for damage during the move is not an acceptable answer, it's not as if I packed the truck. I'm sure they carry insurance for this. Needless to say I will not be using this company again. If you don't continue service after the sale I don't trust your company. read more

After reading several reviews I was prepared for a lack of communication. Boy was I wrong. They were super clear upfront about rates and schedule, confirmed the day before and the day of. And when they got there they couldn't have been faster or more careful. They were moving a huge very heavy tub down my old curved stairs and I was unsure if it could be done. One of the worst experiences of my life. This was a long distance move with movers loading a truck, the trucking co. driving and delivering it, and Easy 'does It movers unloading. When the movers showed up the first thing Tim (owner?) said was 'Aw, nobody told me there was this much stuff!, I wasn't planning on this!". He WAS told that it would be a 26' truck to unload. Most of my furniture was damaged and/or filthy with black fingerprints. Legs were broken off of three pieces. He complained that he hadn't planned on moving "a bunch of old crap". He piled things on the dollies about 7' high and slammed them down and slid them. Several times I heard boxes falling off of the dollies. A piece of art was crumpled up and placed in a flower pot. Nothing was set up, like beds or dressers and mirrors. Rugs were left in piles and I couldn't place furniture until I hired more help to move it so I could put the rugs down and replace. My clothes were thrown onto the floor. It took days to be able to walk through the house without climbing over things. To top it off when they finished, they left stuff in the truck. When the trucking company picked up the truck they called to tell me. They were nice enough to not charge me for clean-up. He told me it was mostly moving blankets, straps, lots of pieces that he didn't know what they were (pieces of broken furniture) and garbage that they had left. A lot of my electronics are missing. When he came into the house with the invoice he said the truck was all closed up and they were done. When I called and asked about my stuff having been left on the truck I was told it was my responsibility to check that the truck was empty, not his! DO NOT use this company! WORST EVER! read more

This is the second time I have used Easy Does It Movers. Guess that says something - would not go back if I was not happy, I would not have used them a second time. Phil, Matt & Greg called before they came - arrived in time - fully explained everything - did a walk thru - got my directions and got right down to work. Except to take a drink, their feet did not stop moving until everything was done to my satisfaction. These guys are GREAT!! One piece of constructive criticism. I would strongly suggest that customers get a confirming phone call 24 hours before the move is scheduled, just to relieve any anxiety about the appointment. I called them to confirm, but it would be good if they called you. I have worked with other companies that e-mail you a confirmation when you book, so you have something in writing and then call to confirm 24 hours before the move. read more

Had a *small job* just bed, dresser, and sofa; they got the job done and I have no complaints. At the best rate I could find ($100 per hour which is standard, but they are willing to do 2 hour jobs, and they don't charge any additional fee like trip charge or gas surcharge which can be additional $65-90 if you go with another company). They are very fair, sign off the time when they are inside your home, then they sign out once the last item dropped. Follow behind their car during transport. They cover all your furniture with padded cloth during transport. No games. No damage. I was happy with Phil, Ray, and Greg. Phil may not talk much but you can tell he is straightforward, fair, and hardworking. Ray and Greg are more friendly and talkative, pleasant company. Ray is very responsible, said "will come out of my paycheck" if he caused any damage. If you have a small job (and I am sure they can handle big jobs too) and want it done at the most competitive rate then these guys will satisfy your needs. They called me before they arrived, and they arrived on time. I read some other reviews that not showing up was an issue, I did not have that problem. They have probably rectified that type of situation, and you can comfortably hire these guys for your moving needs. read more

The guys were great, owner who scheduled not so much. He had them stop my job to go help someone else who was throwing a fit 2 day before I left the country so the small amount of items remaining has still not been picked. I had been on schedule for about a week for my initial move. When I had to reschedule due to a work emergency he refused to work with me after I said I would not be charging them for broken China cabinet glass as well. My move should have been completed the day he set it up for. I was kind enough to allow the overworked young men to leave and go finish what their boss asked them to. Turned out the guy cancelled after we left the location I was moving from. It would have been a great experience had it been more organized on the owners part. When I had to re-arrange my schedule he was not kind enough to work with me, yet when he stopped in the middle of my move, then cancelled the other party regardless it caused a huge issue for me that has caused me to pay $100's of extra dollars at my old home. I have to edit the review after posting it ad the owner sent me threats I have on text message saying her would come after my business and my personal life for posting this. BEWARE, He will not send me information to send my broken claim into. I am actually afraid as he knows where I live with my children. I will be calling Galveston police if this persists. I gave an accurate review. His moving guys were great but he is not great at scheduling. He changed dates on me after not finishing a move and when I needed him to reschedule, then begged him to finish he refused. He threatened to post texts where I asked them to finish the job which is TRUE. I am a r3ecent widow and needed help. Instead I was degraded and treated like trash. I had broken items his crew promised to warranty yet he does not apparently know anything about them. I work in Galveston as a Realtor. This MAN has never used my service yet has threatened to say so. I am actually afraid and will seek legal action if he bothers me again. he has cost me money, threatened to lie about my valued reputation and also scared me as I live alone with my young children. BEWARE. He blamed this on a city official who made him stop my move to help him as the city official apparently is more important then my family which paid good money and tipped $100 to his overworked staff. They were still awesome movers in terms of the crew on the ground. I want to be 100% honest. They took almost zero breakis and kicked rear minus the scheduling and the fact they were asked to stop the job for someone apparently more important. A reputable moving company helped me today. Again his guys were great. The owner not so much. Threatened me also his wife has some sort of legal profession and he will come after me for giving an honest review. Long review warning! All things considered, I had an overall positive experience but the communication skills of the business/owner could use some improvement. The move was scheduled over the phone, for 3pm. The person who I spoke with on the phone was pleasant and gave me all the information I needed as far as price, what was included and how the extra time would be charged if necessary. He let me know that he was on location at a move, but if I sent a text message to the business phone number that I would be added to the schedule. I sent a text and that was a couple of weeks before my move. The day of the move I still had no follow up or confirmation that I was scheduled, and since it was a weekday I wanted to see if they had an open schedule if they could possibly come earlier. I called the business line, 4 times over the course of 3 hours. By this time I was about to look for another company to do move me last minute. I found another number online that was apparently the owner's direct cell phone and left a message. He got back to me and said yes everything was on schedule. Come 3pm I am standing near the front of the apartment complex, around 3:30 I call the owner back wondering what was going on since I was told everything was "on schedule", then he tells me that the move was a time slot between 3-5 pm, to which I respond that just earlier in the day he told me 3pm and he says that he will call the crew and ask for an approximate eta. My issue is not that there is a schedule window, my issue is that it was not communicated until after the scheduled time. The crew was coming to move me after completing a large move, so I got 4 movers when the usual is 3, which was great and helped moved things along faster. All four guys were respectful to me, and my belongings and worked extremely quickly. They did a great job. My only complaint there is that a t-mold on my tile floors came undone (it was installed the day before) while they were in the master bedroom and instead of informing me, they put it back into place so I wouldn't think they damaged it. The contractor's work was not finished, so it was no big deal, but I would have appreciated the honesty. Lastly, when it came time to pay, I was prepared with cash, but I still asked if they accepted credit cards. He told me yes, they do, but they charge a 5% additional charge to use credit. This should be communicated prior to the time payment is due. I think its common courtesy to let customers know preferred method of payment. Overall good experience, and I would use this company again, but I believe that better communication with the customer can prevent bumps in the road on moving day. read more

My office move went off without a hiccup. The crew, Cody, Tim and Charles, were on time, professional and efficient. I showed them the rooms and items to be moved and they had me loaded up and moved into my new office across town in just over 2 hours (it would have been under 2 hours, but the building manager had stepped out and we couldn't access my new office for 15 to 20 minutes). They took the time to place the furniture exactly where I wanted it and graciously moved things around as many times as I needed to get me set up properly. We had Tim, Cody, and JR help us move and they were fantastic. They were at our house right on time, spend a bit of time checking in with us on each thing they were moving, once moving started they hustled and moved us in less than two hours. No complaints on a hot July day moving up stairs, once they finished we still had time so they made sure everything was moved, or if they needed to do anything else in their time limit. I used them to help me move across the island a few weeks ago. I had them move most of my old house down the stairs and then the new house was high raised so they had to go right back up the stairs. I'd give them zero stars if I could. I'm still mad right now. We scheduled Easy Does It to move our Galveston home this morning. They were supposed to arrive at 8:00 a.m. At 8:30 they hadn't arrived yet, so we tried to call. No answer! And a full mailbox so we couldn't even leave a message. By about 9:00, we knew they weren't coming, so we moved our entire 3 bedroom, 2 bath TWO STORY house ourselves, because, you know, when you schedule a mover it's because you need TO MOVE. They brought 3 people for a 1 bedroom move. Fast and efficient. Rate is min of 2 hours at 225 with an additional 100 every hour.

Worst moving company!!! I hired this company a month in advance to make sure that I had everything lined up. I was moving out of state and needed them to load my 20 ft truck. It was going to be a 19 hour drive to my destination. After waiting patiently for an hour after my scheduled time, please note, nobody bothered to call me and let me know they were running late, they informed me that they were 40 minutes away and were over 3.5 hours late. Terrible time management!! The 4 hour delay affected hotel reservations as well as the schedule to have my truck unloaded at my final destination. So When I asked for the owner to call me. He was unaware of where is crew was, unprofessional and lacked any kind of customer service. It doesn't matter if it was a 200 dollar job or a 2000 dollar job, its all about customer service. I was not even offered a discount which is clearly stated on their website if the crew is late. I had to ask for it!! It was unbelievable!! He said he was short handed and was really sorry, and for me to be patient. Really??? Well perhaps he should have stepped in to the field to help his crew out!!!! The most upsetting thing was that the crew broke an expensive antique marble table top. When I first spoke to the owner he said he had 90 days by law to take care of it. Since we had already had words about the delay I was already upset, this just made things worse. He was totally rude. What kind of customer service is this????I had to reach out twice to get anyone to call me back about replacing the top. They said they were "working on it". Still no reply back and it has been almost 2 months. Plenty of time. I'm sure that they were hoping I would just go away. I have read many reviews on this site and it is very comical to read the owners response to the negative reviews. Those responds by him show how unprofessional he is. We used easy does it for moving a 3/2 beach house a mile or two. The price was fair and the guys were friendly and professional. They did stain our couch a bit (my fault for not wrapping it) and they knocked a corner off our Sheetrock wall But all in all I couldn't be happier. After putting in a 10 hour day of moving including a huge bar-b-que pit, to know all they had trouble with were those 2 things I was thrilled. If I'd have done the move it would have certainly been worse! read more

This is my second time using Easy Does It and I couldn't be happier! I can't say enough about what a consummate professional the owner Tom is and what a pleasure its been to work with him. We just used them yesterday for the second time and they were amazing! The 3 man crew showed up on time and ready to work, they completed our job in 3 hours and were nothing but respectful and courteous the whole time. Tom even helped us work out an issue we had with a missing TV stand (they did an investigation and it turns out it was broken during the course of the move) and he offered to compensate us so we could get a replacement!! :) This is the only moving company I have ever recommended and I can't stress enough how great it is to know your property is in good hands. The crew showed up over 3 hours late! Arrival time was scheduled at 3pm they did not show up till 625pm having called at 330pm stating they would be there at 530pm. Once there they only had two bed frames, 3 twin mattresses, 1 queen mattress with box spring, 2 dressers, one small entertainment ctr, One 50 inch TV, a desk, one couch and love seat coffee table two end tables, two night stands, and EVERYTHING ELSE was boxes which we had moved to the dining room and stacked -and it took them over 4 hours to complete. I believe we were over charged due to this scheduling and over working of the company crew. During the move we were told they were extremely tired and did not want to complete the move due to the late hour and the crew was very upset with their own company due to the fact the company has two crews and the other crew was off of work at noon and should have been sent out for our move. They also over charged us. 1st I believe for the TIME spent moving us it took TOO LONG due to the TIME AND TIREDNESS of the crew. Complained the whole time they were moving us. 2nd they charged us $225 for 2 hrs and $225 for an additional 2.15 hrs but took $300 cash and charged my CC $257.72. My husband had to run out after them to point out the over charge on the CC and we received $100 cash back. Not sure what the $7.72 was for. Very disappointed due to the complaining and the time it took them to move boxes mostly and the boxes were not even moved to the correct rooms, I directed them to just leave them on the first floor of the new apt due to their complaining about the time as the night got later. ****Changed my score once problem was addressed, Customer Service was amazing and very understanding. read more
