Steve, the owner, was a pleasure to work with when scheduling the moving phases and so accommodating when we changed the dates several times during the process. The three man moving team, supervised by Trent, could not have been more cooperative. The young men were courteous, very professional, and time efficient making a somewhat arduous task ( at least from our point of view) a much more pleasant experience than we recall on previous relocations. DON'T DO IT. They unloaded my UHaul yesterday and I will never work with this company again. I regret not heeding the warning of other comments. I warned them to be careful about new paint in my house and found a HUGE scratch when they left. The work was sloppy and I felt like they were being bothered by taking things up the stairs or through the back entrance, so even when they put stuff in the wrong room I didn't ask them to relocate it. ***The boss, Steve, sounds really nice up front when you initially give him your business but if you question additional charges... expect his tone to flip and for him to forget who is the customer. They have a blanket $50 fee on top of the fee to come out that was explained to me as a "supplies fee" by the worker and let me tell you...they used straps. Once. Money hungry without the quality. No comparison to the company I hired at $90 less to load my truck in Dallas. read more

These guys did an awesome job on helping us move to a 2-story house. We had a 3-person crew, just as Steve the owner suggested. Shannon, Bill, and Joseph were very professional and friendly. They took great care moving our stuff and did exactly what we asked them to do. They were polite and helpful, and they seemed to have great rapport and helped each other well, which made the moving process smoother. They only accept cash, though, so just a heads up in case you don't have several hundred dollars handy (our move took 6 hours, and we only moved very short distance, but that's just how long it took to move our stuff because the movers were efficient and hardly had any downtime). Another mover we contacted for estimate would accept credit cards but you get a discount if you pay cash. It would be much more convenient and less stressful if A-1 Absolute Movers could accept credit card payments or check. We were actually impressed when we saw Steve come by to introduce himself at the start of the move, and then later to bring lunch for the movers. Overall, great job, A-1 Absolute Movers! read more

I needed to move in a timely fashion. Couldn't even confirm the move until 10pm the night before. I called, left a message, way after business hours and prayed they would show up the next day. I received a text, that night, letting me know they would be there. What a relief!!! I got a call an hour before they were supposed to arrive on the day of, letting me know what the drivers were doing and when I should expect them to arrive. They were a little early, but didn't charge me for the time. We discussed a plan and it was executed. I have an antique dresser that means the world to me, and they literally wrapped it in cloth and plastic, and very gingerly took it down a flight of stairs that it didn't actually fit on. Great communication, great teamwork, very professional. And they have these funny "lifting belts" ....extremely satisfied. read more

Worst experience with movers EVER. Constant complaining about the stairs and were 45 minutes late showing up to move me. Their manager called to say that one of his workers had car trouble, however when they arrived. One of the guys told me, "Sorry ma'am I overslept". Do not use this company if you want an effortless move. Complaining was the major issue. The constant complaining about going up the stairs was the worst part of the move. I'm so glad I called these guys! I needed someone to help me move two small storage units into one larger unit. I never could have done it alone. They did a great job and put all my boxes and plastic containers neatly in the unit. They even put boxes on one side and plastic containers on the other side. Unfortunately instead of giving A1 movers a 5-star rating they are lucky to receive a 2. They were prompt in their pick-up time and worked quickly to move all of my furniture. While moving one of our tables, one of the movers snapped about 8 of the lower rales off, breaking the base of the table. When I asked him how to handle these situations he said that he had to disclose the damage to his boss and the money to fix the table would come from his pay. He asked for the opportunity to fix the table himself as he felt very capable with the right tools and I agreed because I didn't want him to take a financial hit for the accident. After waiting for 2 months, several phone calls and text messages back and forth, the most I received was excused and he NEVER showed up to fix my table. Honesty and reliability should be held with the utmost respect in a moving company and with this experience, I can say that this company has neither of those things. We hired A1 Absolute Movers (Yes, I'm sure it is this company, even though the owner responded to a previous review stating that they were not my movers) to help move our big furniture/possessions from our apartment into our new house. They were a referral from my mother-in-law who has used them multiple times over the years and she only had good things to say about them. However, I did not have a good experience with them and would not recommend them to others. I didn't like the fact that we started to get charged their "Moving" fee once they start heading to our apartment from their office. I get being charged for mileage, but the fee you pay for actually moving shouldn't count when they haven't even arrived at the pick-up destination. I didn't deal with them at the apartment, my husband did, so I can't speak to how they packed up and moved things onto the truck. Although, everything did arrive with no scratches/dents/breaks. I was at the house waiting for them to arrive. When they did arrive I noticed that the driver was smoking a cigarette. It is very off-putting that the people handling our possessions would be smoking because that smell/odor lingers. We did move into a 3-story house that has a very tight turning radius for a stair well (first to second floor), so I knew it was going to be rough, however, most of the heavy furniture was going to be going on the first and second floor (excluding a bed and dresser). We have a 9 foot tall China Cabinet that is two pieces, bottom buffet that is about 3 feet tall and the display cabinet on top which is around 6 feet, with a decorative arch. They were able to get the bottom piece up the stairs but they started to struggle with the top piece because of it's weight and shape. During the move they scuffed the wall above our front door, and also took a chunk out of the wall about the size of a golf ball when trying to pivot the china cabinet onto the first floor landing. I was getting nervous and I questioned whether or not we should keep the china cabinet. When my husband told them that we were questioning to keep it, the mover said to me "I'm going to be honest, we're not moving it back down. That's harsh, this thing was too heavy to get up here." I asked him if he was serious and he said yes. He wasn't going to move the china cabinet back down to the first floor, they would only continue to go up and get it on the second floor. I understand that the furniture was heavy and they were having a hard time getting it to the second floor. What I don't appreciate is them scuffing and denting my walls and then telling me that they wouldn't MOVE the furniture to where I wanted. To me that was a lack of respect and an inappropriate way to respond to my request. They did get the china cabinet on the second floor, and I love it, but the fact that they told me if I wanted to move it back down they wouldn't do it is completely and utterly unacceptable. When my husband went to pay them, they mentioned nothing about a discount for the damage they caused to the walls, or mentioned that they would cover the cost to fix it. We paid full price and got poor attitudes and a new house with some moving scars. Another thing I found very weird, was that they would only accept cash payments. No other form allowed. read more

I booked with Steve and Absolute moving and ended up with the 3 Stooges. It was very upsetting find out this was happening to lots of people. Will not use A1 Absolute Movers again and I will not recommend. Well, the real movers are here today (3 Men Movers) and I should have used them the first time. They showed up 15 minutes early, in their company marked truck (not a U-Haul) and all 3 movers are wearing matching uniforms. They have already found more damage articles but it would not do any good to complain to A1 Movers. Lessons learned: Hire a reputable moving company with more than 8 or 9 Yelp reviews, make sure they have their own trucks and crew, make sure you read everything, make sure you watch the movers like a hawk, make sure you inspect everything, for goodness sake don't go into your storage unit or let other people go in your storage unit and gently move things around, and and most of all realize that you will never win an argument with the owner and realize that he will twist things around to make it look like it's your fault. Now that the other moving company is here and I am now having an opportunity to see how the unit was packed by this moving company. Why would you stand a piece of furniture on end with the finished wood surface resting of the concrete floor without any protection underneath? I will post more as we discover more. Update: the usual expected passing the blame from the owner of A1. I should have known from the previous responses to other dissatisfied customers. Anyway, one more plug for 3-Men Movers. After the excellent move, they sent a very professional email and asked me to conduct a survey. I'm wondering why A1 doesn't use modern technology to do the same. Oh well, live and learn. Guys were nice but the trip ended with a broken 900$ brand new sofa I will not get reimbursed for. Scratched brand new table and chairs. ALL of which I had receipts for ... 3 months old... Steve told me they did not want to do a second trip so they put my sofa on the side to save the trip. Which broke my brand new sofa. I would of rather done the Extra trip then be left with a broken brand new sofa! He then told me "my guys didn't have to move any of my stuff!". no sir they didn't but I hired and payed 400$ for 3 hours. So yeah they did I could of called someone else like 2 men in a truck and for the extra buck I wouldn't of been left with a broken sofa or scratched furniture...this "owner" was rude has no people skills and his sorry and him taking 30 minutes off didn't do a Damm thing. so by all means people... if you have junk furniture hire them to take your stuff to the dum...if you have furniture you want to use DONT... call 2 men and a truck for the 6$ extra an hour. read more

This company advertises that major credit cards are welcome but they don't allow credit card payments.. cash only! I found out too late that they will not accept credit card payments because when you finally unpack and inspect your items, they are damaged and will not admit it nor compensate the client. Movers were inexperienced but polite young men. The owner Steve is the problem. He is harsh with his employees as well as clients. I would not recommend this company as they damaged my furniture but said because I didn't inspect all the boxes, furniture, and misc items within 10 min of moving, they were not responsible. read more

The movers were efficient and very polite. They took great care of my furniture and got it to my new house in the exact same condition it left in. They were 5 minutes early for the appointment which was a welcomed change from the last moving company I used which had me waiting for thirty minutes before they arrived. Steve the owner was courteous and helpful. The movers and I decided on taking a load with the truck not completely full because they were a few pads short, Steve took a half hour off for that. ***BEWARE***** I booked their services one month ago. the day of the move, 05/16/2015, Steve called 30 minutes prior to the arrival time and stated that his driver called in and that he probably would not have a crew to complete the move. He said he had a "friend" who also owned a moving company (A1 Arrow Movers, 281-948-7000) and he could possibly do the move. He told me he would call me back shortly. He provided my name and address to his "friend" then called to say they would be at my residence within 15 minutes. They arrived 45 minutes later. Without looking at the amount of boxes or furniture to be moved, he announced it would be a 3-4 hour job. I was initiall y quoted 2 and max 3 hours as I was in a one bedroom apartment. At this point I was desperate and had to accept the fee. The 3 man crew (2 vets and one rookie), were SLOW!! One man would stop and text on his phone during the move. at one point, Justin had to wait for him to finish texting so they could move my entertainment center. The rookie dropped the dolly on my glass entertainment center and paper shredder. My bedroom furniture has a chunk of wood missing (it's black so it's immediately noticeable). The rookie and Justin DROPPED by dresser!!! My printer is mysteriously missing. I called the owner about the missing printer and he stated Justin said there wasn't a printer on the truck!! This is a bald faced LIE!!! I saw them carry it to the truck. I will NEVER use this company again. I am really disappointed because I booked Steve with A1 Absolute because he came very highly recommended. When I called Steve to tell him about my complaints regarding his friend's company, he quickly stated that I need to call his friend. side note....I read a review from 05/17/2015 where Steve gave the exact same story about a driver calling in then referred the customer to A1 Arrow Movers....his "friend". read more

Steve and his crew (Billy and Jermaine) helped us move in the pouring rain over the weekend and up and down the stairs of our new beach house. The guys were exhausted after the move however, no furniture was damaged, no walls were banged up, and they were very professional the entire time. Steve stayed in constant contact with us during the move and Billy was an awesome on-site manager that kept the job moving at a very fast pace. Horrible experience. Owner lied about how many men were needed for my move. I requested 3 men, but he talked me in to 2 movers with the option to get a third if needed. When I requested the third man the owner yelled at me and blamed me for having too many boxes. Move took twice as long as quoted, the owner would not send out extra help as promised. Movers broke my dishes. Would not move my washer and dryer or my TVs due to certain conditions the owner did not go over when given the quote. Accepts cash only, everything is paid under the table and he pays no taxes. Would never recommend this company to anyone. Not even enemies! read more

This one the worse experience i think i have ever had. The movers charged us from the time they arrived even though they didnt start moving until at least 20 minutes later. On the original quote i was quoted $159 for the first two hours and $29 per man per hour after that. They called and wanted $175 for the first hour and a half. Um, no! Then the price started going up from there. They were so slow!!!!!! My husband and myself had to help, and im due in less then 2 weeks with our third child. So we were paying them to even have help. Then, at the end they tried to say the job is done when they get back to the warehouse. I have never heard of this before and was never told this!!!!! It all seemed shady. To top it off they only take cash and held an item in their truck until they were paid. Nobody answered the phones for the main line when i tried calling several times to clear things up! I will never use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Im kicking myself for not using three men movers which we have used in the past. It was the worst experience. To top everything else off its been several days, and nobody has contacted me after leaving a message as well as sending an email. Bad customer service, bad everything really!!!!!!! read more
