My appointment went very well! I'm very satisfied with how they all took care of me! Initially, I was very anxious about coming in because i have had terrible experiences with other Dentistries in the past but this office made me feel very comfortable. Once 2021 started and my dental Insurance was active, I made an appointment with them. I desperately needed a root canal done and Dr. Christina Galvez was able to operate fast and it was done perfectly, i felt no pain at all! Had my teeth cleaned by one of their hygienist and also needed a wisdom tooth extracted which has healed amazingly. They also checked up on me after my extraction to make sure it went well. My next appointment, I saw Dr. Bernard Galvez to have a crown placed. He was able to create and place the crown in the same day which was super efficient! They do accept Care Credit here, which was something i was looking for while searching for a dentist offices in Stockton. She takes her time answering your questions and is one of few dentists left unwilling to sell their soul and pressure you into a root canal you do not need, all for that extra coin. I previously was a patient at this dentist office for 3 years. However, I stopped going due to a false charge. They insinuated that I had not canceled an appointment in time (when I did). My appointment was for a Monday and they called to confirm on a Friday, however they do not count weekends as adequate notice time. These appointments are booked 6 months in advance. It is a questionable business practice to call with such little time to make a revision or reschedule the appointment. I was charged a $25 fee for this. My family and I finally got dental insurance so we were able to make an apt with Galvez. I've never used this place before. I found them on my insurance website as a in network provider. I researched them and seen that every was perfect. We had our first visit in July and first impression say everything. I made the adult decision to look for a dentist that accepted my insurance. Growing up with the notion that I should fear the dentist, I was always hesitant to get my teeth looked at. When the doctor told me he was going to give me a shot to numb my gums, (FYI- I needed to get 2 crowns done and 3 fillings) and raised the needle that looked like it went for days. I'm telling you my epidural flashbacks of child birthing kept replaying in my mind. I closed my eyes and prepared for the worse. To my surprise, I literally felt nothing, then a slight pinch, then nothing...."Okay, good job, that's it" said Dr. Galvez. That was it? That was the shot I was sweating about...man I felt like the biggest lame-o. Then he continued to drill away and usually I would fold my hands and grip for dear life in hopes the dentist wouldn't see me giving my hands the grip of death. But again to my surprise nothing. So I unclenched my muscles and began playing around on my phone. Overall this experience has changed my view of the dreaded dentist and I'm happily setting another appointment next week to finish the other side with no fear attached. read more

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Christina Galvez as a new patient. They were able to get me in 2 days later. When I walked in I felt at ease filling out paper work. I was called in shortly. I went first for an adjustment. I was greeted by staff who were in my distance of walking to the chair. Every one looked and were very pleasant all greeted me. All were very professional. I returned 2 days later to do my xrays and cleaning and some adjusting. I feel alot better now. I have never walked in a Office and felt so comfortable. This place is a joke. One of the most horrible dental place to go to. I was there strictly for cleaning. After taking x-rays, the doctor lady told me that base on my x-rays, one of my back tooth needs to be looked at, if not, it may lead to a root canal eventually. I responded telling her that I'm not interested because I never felt pain from the tooth. She continues explaining and proving her recommendations blah blah blah. (keep in mind that this particular visit was my second time there getting my cleaning done. The first time I was there was a year ago also for cleaning, and she told me the same thing about the same tooth). However, she somehow was able to talked me into agreeing to get the tooth worked on. So, her story goes like this: To avoid the root canal which cost likely around $1000, my tooth can avoid the root canal if she opens up the tooth and fill it up with some kind of solutions. Then I go back home for 2 weeks, if I do not feel pain within the 2 weeks, I go back to her, then she'll refill it up with some permanent fillings, then my tooth will be back to normal. But, if she sent me home within that 2 weeks and I do feel any pain, then likely a root canal is needed. This procedure will cost me about $80 after insurance versus the $1000 root canal. So I took the $80 deal. 2 weeks later I returned back to her with NO PAIN at all. She refills it up with the permanent filling. $80 I paid. Business made. I go home. . . . Now, about a month later, the tooth ache like hell! I went back to see her, asking why my tooth ache? She immediately said I will need a root canal. I said to her right away that you told me that I wouldn't need a root canal if I did exactly what you said. She starts to defend herself saying all sorts of things like it was too late to save the tooth. It pisses off more when she said it was too late to save the tooth. I was making my point to her that I was given the impression of me avoiding the root canal if I did exactly what she recommended to go through the fillings procedure with her, and my tooth was healthy with no pain to begin with, and in the end, I ended up with a root canal. One good reason to not go to this dental place, they do not do root canal. They only refer you to a specialist to get a root canal done. You want a doctor that does everything. You don't have time to jump around doctors to get something done. It's like they work on half of your tooth and a different doctor works on the other half. This is what I feel about this whole situation. I truly believed I was lied to. I truly believed that the moment she opened up my tooth, the tooth probably didn't need the fillings, but she still proceeded. I walked into the office with good insurance and there's no way she was going to have me walk away without breaking her some of my insurance money. That's a dirty business, trained by the owner I guaranteed. If she was a normal person, she'll used this scenario as a life lesson. You don't pressure anyone to do anything when there's a chance later for you to be accountable for. This is exactly what I told her. She could have just warned me instead of pressuring me. If I choose to not do what she recommended, let me be accountable for not believing her. Let me blame me, not her! Now that my tooth needs a root canal, I blamed her. I told her this. I don't need the owner to comment on this zero-star review. There's no way the owner will undo everything. There's no way the owner will pay for the root canal. So I suggest the dirty owner stay out of this review. My co-workers and my social media circle is aware of this dental place now. Trust me, if I could take this to the local news I would. I walked into this dental place in peace, that's why this situation bothers me so much. read more

I was in a few months ago because of all the recommendations from several people. The dentist was so informative and very sweet. I was all set thinking, wow, that wasn't bad. Then (tun tun tun) it was time to talk about payments. I entered Martha's office, she went straight for it. Her questions were so demanding. I left in hopes of sleeping on the idea of going through with it all. After calling her a few times and finally getting to speak to her. I was left with I'll follow up, which never happened. I was really looking forward to the dentist. When I sat in that chair he made sure I understood they were a family office and would help in any way he can. Dr. Galvez is amazing he truly goes above and beyond to help my mom. She doesn't speak clear English but he has one particular staff named Martha who is so sweet and explains & translates everything Dr. Galvez says to my mom. She is so thoughtful that when I'm not able to be in the room with her she walks out to the waiting room to explain: what Dr. Galvez is consulting with my mom. As amazing as Dr. Galvez is and Martha the other staff are very different. A few weeks ago my mom had an appointment: of course with social distancing only one appointment per day (because it was urgent). The staff opened the door checked our temperature etc. I had to wait in the waiting room for obvious reasons: I asked Silvia the receptionist if she could turn on the TV (they have Netflix). The TV was turned and someone did manage to find a movie but never played it and suddenly they turned the TV off. I never write reviews but I thought I'd take the time to write about the staff's great care with kids. I took my 5 year old for a cleaning and Dr. C (the wife or daughter, I think) found a few cavities. My little guy was really nervous going in but the dentist and her assistant, Rosa, were very attentive and above all super patient with my little guy. When he'd tense up, the dentist and assistant would stop and try to distract him. They even gave him a spin toy at the end for being so brave. I have a terrible fear of dentists due to a childhood dentist who would literally strap you in the chair if you were scared and unable to sit still. Needless to say, I have had the same dentist for the past 20 years now because of the fear of switching, and my dentist is all the way in the bay area; I now live in the Central valley. I've finally found a dentist near me who is gentle, kind, and not money hungry! I cannot say enough about this office! From the ladies in the front... Horrible administrative service. It took them about 2 weeks to get an approval just for my check up then another 2 to get approval to get work done. The front desk person, called me trying to explain the cost of my work and sounded like she was trying to repeat whatever someone in the background was telling her to say--basically, she didn't know what she was talking about and sounded like she wasn't even listening to herself. When I asked questions she would give me a different answer every time. I faxed over a CareCredit application so that I can make payments for my dental work on 4/4/13, on 4/10/13 the front desk said she just checked their fax machine and, "There is nothing there". Um, maybe because I faxed my personal information over 6 days ago!!! Going to have to pay out of pocket for another dentist to redo my check up!! NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!! read more
