My husband was looking for a small local toy store to go buy a birthday gift for our baby nephew. So this is the store we picked. We'd planned to go to Target as a backup plan. I'd also fully expected we would go in here and find something and have to buy it on Amazon because it would be significantly cheaper. But that wasn't the case, and that made me so happy. Their prices are absolutely reasonable, even for things that are normally insane and overpriced. I was really impressed. The staff that are working clearly love their job and are incredibly helpful. They greeted us when we walked in, let us explore, and answered all of our questions, taking us to certain aisles and showed us things. We were definitely welcomed in the store. We ended up buying two toys for our nephew's first birthday, and I'm definitely coming back when Christmas comes closer. This is such an amazing small local business to support and everyone should take the time to stop by.

Collectables are priced in line with the Overstreet guide, but they can be a little optimistic on the grading, so margin hard. I have never sold any used comics to them (hoarder!) and I cannot speak to pricing there, but they are legit is every other aspect that I have dealt with this on. They are likely selling resealed pokémon booster packs. We picked up some packs today that we later…read morequestioned while looking at them. My son is kind of new to the pokémon game so we decided to take pictures and opened the packs anyway. We emailed those pictures to another reputable card shop owner who said the packs should never be opened at all. You can see in the pictures they're open at the top in some corners. This is just a few of the packs that we picked up. So keep an eye out if you go there to get pokémon cards because if the booster packs are being resealed it's likely most of the other Pokemon product is as well. I was also told that it's really the shops prerogative if they wish to sell resealed packs. Apparently they pick them up from scalpers. And what would they care anyhow It's all profit.

They took detailed photos of the ring before, which were included on the estimate and receipt, and gave a clear estimate of what to expect. This is after we dropped it off at a different shop in Albany to have two bands soldered together, where photos were not taken of the ring at drop off and he felt overall uneasy about that experience. I really felt like everyone was friendly and helpful!

About a year ago, I brought a ring in to Olufson to inquire about having it appraised. The sales…read moreassociate was nice, told me they don't do appraisals, and that they generally don't recommend an appraisal them unless you are planning on selling the ring (strange advice if you ask me. I wanted to have it appraised for insurance). I don't think she knew that I brought the ring in a year or two earlier to have the gem identified (it was an inherited ring and we didn't know what the gem was). And I was told at the time that it was a high quality gem with high quality diamonds on it. She offered to buy it on the spot for $388. I politely declined knowing that the ring was likely worth a lot more. I finally had it appraised and the replacement value is off the charts. I know that replacement/insurance value is not equal to a purchase/selling price AT ALL, but the gold alone is worth 10x what they offered me. So shady. I would never go back to Olufson after this. Moral of the story: Always ALWAYS get a second opinion. Never sell jewelry on the spot. And maybe avoid Olufson.
