I'm really disappointed with my experience at GameTower. I was sold two different Xbox consoles that were both defective, and instead of helping me, the staff claimed I "came back three times to cause problems." I came back because the consoles they sold me didn't work -- simple as that. I traded in a pristine Series S and paid extra for a Series X, only to receive a unit with a damaged USB port. They were able to exchange it for another but that one had a loose hdmi port. When I returned, Bobby did try to help, by tightening the HDMI port and giving me $15 in store credit but it doesn't fix the fact that I paid for a console that wasn't in proper condition. What makes this even worse is that I've been a loyal customer for years, even appearing in videos on their page. I've supported the store, recommended it, and spent plenty of money there. So being treated like I'm causing problems instead of being helped properly is extremely disappointing. I appreciate Bobby's effort, but I still don't feel satisfied as a customer. I expected honesty, respect, and real solutions -- not attitude and band‑aids. I won't be returning, and I hope others double‑check their purchases before leaving the store. read more

50/50 I recommend and not recommend this place 1 if your looking to get retro games like ps1/2 Xbox games and others than yeah it's perfect for u But before u buy it make sure to ask them to test it before buying it unfortunately for me The time when I went there I saw my childhood games I got jak 2 and dragon ball z budokai on April 8 2026 unfortunately DBZ budokai didn't came with the manual witch I can live without it Got took it one and test it, jak 2 was working perfectly wile dbz budokai Vs work fine wile the story mode didn't, so what happened is the part when i finish defeating raditz I get stuck in a loading screen for 10 min so after the min go by I took out the disk and put it back in the box and went back on the store on the next day, also forgot to mention the audio was cutting out and piccolo look like a wooden clone from naruto Anyway the next day I Came In and me and my family member explained the situation and they were able to clean the disk with one of those resurfacers the guy said wait for 3 min after that I said thank u and took it and when back home and test it again and what do u know I didn't work witch I had a feeling and not surprised So what happened when I tested it gameplay for the campaign work fine until I reach to vegeta and nappa So when I finish beating nappa I had to wait on the loading screen for 8 min and 41 second I was about to take off the disk and then the game finally loaded and show the cutscenes for vegeta and goku about to fight After finish beating vegeta I was stuck again another loading screen, what I did is add a timer and was on my Xbox to pass the time Once I got Board and the loading screen still there I check the timer and it was 58 min and 10 seconds so at that point Grab the disk and put on the box again and wait till the next day on on April 10 2026 I went there for the third time and me and my family explain it to the same guy black hair and grown beard after explaining and my family ask if they could fix it and I don't remember what he said, all I remember is they couldn't witch sucks then she ask if I could get my money back and they don't do refunds so it was ether get another disk of the same game or a different So the guy gave me a different disk of the same game and said it was final meaning I can't come in the explain if something go wrong and won't exchange for a different game Also he mention my console could be the problem witch is bs because how was able to play the game fine for jak 2 and not DBZ I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work I'm gonna play it until I reach to the bu saga So I really don't recommend this place if your like me and don't have the disk resurfacers If u do have then your choice to get whatever game you want And some some stuff I said and other I forgot will be put here in case you forgot when you read my long paragraph 1 no refund 2 no ps2 console meaning at the second time I went there I ask if they could test it and the guy said he doesn't have the console 3 there box manual bs so remember what I said in the beginning I got the game for DBZ but didn't came with the manual well when they gave me a new disk and when I open the box I see the Manuel I don't even know if there lazy to check the boxes honestly when I went there and bought it I only saw one guess they hid the other one also when I also got jak 2 I saw 4 boxes of them so weird they did put it for DBZ And lastly and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't read it and if they did why won't you just give my money back it was $15 really did you seriously don't have the money to Zelle me $15 I'm glad I rarely come to this store sins it's 20 min away from my home Also I remember last year when I went there to for the first time I wanted to get the Wii U but didn't have the money I remember asking u guys can u test it and one of employee said it works fine and I said can you test it before buying and they repeated it How the h*** is the customer not gonna know if it works until he/she see it's S*** I remember I got halo 4 and dead rising 1 last year and i didn't test it because I was busy well sins I'm on my day off I'm most definitely gonna check if all of them works. Great video game store. It has a lot of old-school games, from SNES to Switch games and everything in between. You can find PlayStations, rare collectables including Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and old game inserts. Pretty cool, the price can be on the steep side, though, but they often do 20% or even 30% off everything sales every once in a while, so it's worth following their Instagram page to find out when those sales happen. Yesterday my PS4 controller was starting to stick drift and I decided to go buy a new one at this place, I bought my first one and when I got home to test it, it literally started to stick drift again, then just today I went back and ask for exchange and I specifically asked for controller that is unused but they gave me a black PS4 and when I got home, now the R2 trigger is not working and the joysticks is having a huge delay. You guys need to at least check what the problem is or at least call someone to get it fix. Sad to say but is doesn't sit well with me at all. I walked in bought two packs for 25$. Yes, expensive but I get it. Anyways, I was deeply saddened when I opened the first pack and quickly noticed that there was an extra shiny card misplaced that was clue one. Two was both packs were hard to open and would not tear at the bottom or top I had to unwrap them awkwardly. I was very disappointed today after purchasing a 2DS that had been posted earlier today. Immediately after completing the purchase, I noticed there was a large missing piece in the shell, which was not disclosed before I paid for it. This should have been clearly mentioned beforehand. At the time, the employee from the Pokémon section only offered a very low store credit for an issue that should have been disclosed prior to sale. On top of that, both the system and charger were covered in dirt and clearly had not been properly cleaned. While they did offer me credit for the console, they were unwilling to include the amount of tax that was charged on this significant purchase. I feel like it's way better than the new GameStop selling all Ps5, Xbox series X games and Nintendo switch games it's not the same as it used to be. Please for the love of God don't come here for any trades and or purchases you will get low balled and you will get a horrible price. My experience here was not the best to start off we came into the shop and they seemed hesitant but we were welcomed which is regular but as soon as we ask questions about Pokémon and what they recommend we were met with hostility. Who ever the guy with the beard is will look at you like an idiot if you have a simply question about Pokémon. We asked what he would recommend for a gift and got hit with attitude on how things vary and how is he supposed to know what someone likes. Since I didn't have anything in mind I let them know that it was my first time and wanted to browse their selection. I'd like to think of Game Tower as a hallway of gaming needs. You have different games/consoles (new and old) on both sides its hard to choose which to browse first. Its hard to remember exactly what they have because its just that much. I feel that they would have practically anything you're looking for in past gaming consoles. My main reason to visit was to see the section held for Ground Control Gaming. I've been to the Chatsworth location a few times but Chatsworth isn't quite local to me. Of the 7-8 ish game stores I've been to so far this is by far the quickest to make the top 3 arguable 2 of em all. Fat selection of 7th gen and prior titles especially for ps2 and Xbox. Girlfriend loved the variety of og gb titles as well with 2-3 cases worth of games some sealed hits and others in solid shape. 8th gen excluding Xbox and switch is slightly low but that obviously changes given what comes into the store. Trade in deals were solid and I'd definitely say the service was quick and got me the best deal for the haul I had yesterday. That 25% off sale plus the wizardry they did got me with 8 ps4 games and the holy grail of ps2 games imo RUGBY 08 (been looking for over 7 years for this) to $60. They legit have such a wide variety of games from every single gaming system so if you're searching for a specific game they are likely to have it. So I need to update my review because today (07/14) I got hooked up! I've been coming here for a while now. Staff is friendly, store is clean, kind of small but maybe in the future they'll expand. Prices are decent if you know what you're looking for. I came on a Family Sunday afternoon before heading to Ucrave, traded some games and a 2DS. I honestly wasn't expecting to get much out of it, I had some good games but the rest was pretty much filler. So after waiting a couple of minutes, Sebastian helped me out. He asked me how much I was expecting to get out of my trades and I told him "$100"...then he tells me "I can give you $115". Fine by me lol. I decide to get Pokémon Soulsilver. It was the cartridge only so I knew it was going to cost less. Sebastian tells me "it'll be $170". Sweet, I'll just pay the difference. Then Sebastian, my friend, tells me "...I can give you $135 for your trade". YES!. I ended walking out with Pokémon Soulsilver for $40 bucks. Thanks for the honesty my friend. Sold me a resealed Arceus ETB and when I brought it back packs and all they offered at best half of it back as credit. I already over paid for this. It was $95 just to get scammed. Similar to my review of The Midnight Hour down the street, when I was growing up, there was nothing I wanted more than a videogame shop to call my own. GameDude was a bit too far, and Gamestop gradually started dropping formats as the years went by. Fortunately, GameTower opened a few miles away in Northridge, and this place truly celebrated physical media and game collecting. You can imagine how excited I was when I attended their grand opening and relocation in the City of San Fernando just last year. Memories of yesteryears linger inside of GameTower with a huge selection of retro videogames, modern day classics, new releases, and imports. It doesn't matter if you were a Sega kid or Nintendo brat, there are many gems to discover, classics to revisit, and next gen titles to anticipate. The prices range from format, rarity, and item (of course), but the owner is always open to talks and offer great deals. They even buy any titles you may be looking to sell as well. Personally, I've bought a number of Dreamcast, WiiU, and Switch games from GameTower since their grand re-opening last year. And this place has become part of my shopping routine when I stop by the San Fernando Mini Mall.
