Awesome little shop! Great variety. Reasonable prices. Omar was killing it on the aux! LA Video Games is so lucky to have him! He's very nice :) thank you! will be back soon!

Great selection of both games and cards, place was clean and Eric was very knowledgeable and kind!

Such a great video game and collector store! It's very clean and super organize with games of past, present and future. I was in awe at how much they had, including so many cool N64 consoles, among everything else! I'm most a Switch (Nintendo) gamer these days (Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Mario), but also dabble in Playstation and XBox from time to time. It's a gamer friendly household lol. The guy in front was one of the kindest souls and let me know that whatever I wanted to look at, inquiry about or purchase he was there to help. Definitely will be supporting this small local shop in the very short future, but mostly just came in to see, as I had never been in and don't live too far away. LA V.G. opens at 11AM everyday so I sometimes miss them on my way to the post office (at the corner) or to the grocery store (as I tend to go early early), but they're also open until 7PM... insert devilish emoji and credit card here lol A friend of the gent on duty/regular customer was talking trading cards and tournaments with the guy in front. I don't know if they have a back area for things like this, but I would definitely come support and spectate. My personal card collection is super low these days. They do have a single arcade machine inside with their logo/stickers on front. I believe it was Tekken!! I'd say it's fair in price, especially for some many rare things. Parking is very limited in this strip mall plaza off Magnolia Blvd (and Kester Avenue). You'll spot LA Video Games behind Pico Pica Rico (restaurant). Great place to expand your gaming hobbies, collect fun finds or score gifts for people you know will enjoy! #GameOn

Great selection of games as always but this review is for the amazing service Eric gave. I picked up this beautiful Link design gameboy advanced from them but really wanted a better screen and backlight. Eric was able to make that dream a reality in a very short time at an insanely great price. Can't express how happy I am with the result

Game on! Abel and Romeo are the most professional, friendly and knowledgeable folks in the business. Every time we come into this shop, we are greeted and feel at home. We are kind of choosy collectors. They don't mind opening up a case or answering questions. Super patient. Compliments for the impeccably clean, well organized and dust free environment. The merchandise is treated and displayed with care and respect. Seriously, major points. A lot of game shops have their vintage games shoved in disheveled tubs and they're clearly not collector friendly. Not only do they have their own supply of games and consoles, but they offer cabinet space to vendors to support local businesses. They do all they can to support the community. Top notch, guys! We've seen them at several conventions, you can tell they're passionate about gaming. COLLECTOR'S PARADISE.

Went in for Pokemon singles. They have a system where you search cards on a tablet that has pricing…read moreand condition. They were adamant that you use the system to even take a look at cards. There were a couple employees available and I asked to see a couple cards but they insisted I type it into the system, select all the cards I'm interested in, then select check out, and THEN an employee would gather the cards for me to view. The first couple of cards I tried to type in were not found in the system but were in the display case. The employee suggested I type the card number (e.g. 2/108) and that did not work either. Finally I found a card I liked in the system but when I looked up that particular card, it appeared to have 2 versions, both near mint but different prices. When asked about the difference in prices, the person behind the counter took 10 minutes to research the cards and change the prices to even higher than originally listed - stating there was only 1 version of the card and they were mislabeled in the system. At this point, he finally showed me the cards and they were objectively not near mint. I wanted to get a closer look to see how played they were but they would not let me see the card outside the sleeve even when I requested that they take it out themselves if they were scared I would damage the card. He then again took the time to inspect the cards himself and correct the listed condition of the cards in their system while he had me wait. I asked if they would honor the original listed price from when I walked in but they said no. With that, and my not being able to make my own, closer inspection on the condition, I ended up not buying anything since I had no baseline to go off to see if it was worth buying for myself. Even without making a purchase, it was an awkward, uncomfortable shopping experience. The sealed product was comparatively much higher than the current market prices. There is a decent selection of singles but their tablet system was misleading and inconsistent. The selections were not good enough to entice me to come back. Be careful in your own price checking when coming to this place.

It's one of the larger comic bookstores in the San Fernando Valley. You can sometimes find a 2-3 month old raw book still at cover price on the stands. This is a really middle of the road shop for a couple reasons. To begin with positives, the…read moreselection of back issues is great. They have some stuff that other shops in the valley don't even know about. The selection of new books is great, too. They are well organized, probably the best organization i've seen in a long time at a comic shop. The negatives: prices are way too high for what are basically reader copies, and the presence of the cats in the shop negates the concept of these being "pet free books". Many of the back issues are clearly a bed for the cats, complete with destroyed bags and boards, where the very cute cats have shredded them. Despite this shop having a good stock, the asking prices on every back issue are 2-3$ higher than what I believe is fair. In addition to that, the employees are not terribly welcoming. The gentleman running the counter was downright dismissive, I didn't even get a hello when I walked in the door and made eye contact. I didn't get a single word as I browsed the stacks for at least twenty minutes. The lady working here had a conversation with my wife about the cats, and even talked to my wife about her clothes, but neither employee engaged with me whatsoever. It felt like they thought i was there to cause trouble, even when making a purchase. In addition, this shop is guilty of one of my biggest pet peeves on the planet: not selling displayed merchandise. On the front counter, two small statues were displayed, but when I asked if they were for sale, I was told they still needed to be researched. Man, do it right now, i'm holding the money in my hand for them. In a store with no other customers, and nothing pressing happening, why would you not take two minutes to check the item price on ebay, or even better yet, decide for yourself what seems like a fair price instead of turning away a paying customer? If the item isn't for sale, take it off the sales floor. Stock is excellent, organization is excellent, prices are not good, and customer service is decidedly bad. It feels like the male employee is either suspicious of everything, or gatekeeping the hobby for some reason. I did not feel welcome here.

The staff is beyond friendly and, even though this location is small, it has a fantastic array of comics and other collectables. Even with my pull list at their other location, I always find something I have to pick up on my quick visit. They also have fantastic signings here throughout the year so there's a good chance that you can meet either one of your favorite writers or be introduced to your next obsession. My only complaint isn't even their fault & it's the parking. Like most of this area of NoHo, it's all limited street parking with meters or you're going to have to cross your fingers that you can find something in the residential streets in the area. But honestly, it's worth it. If you live in the area and are looking for your new favorite neighborhood shop, this is it.

This is difficult for me. I have been a customer for the past 3 years. Since I moved to LA…read more Everyone I've met there that works there is the best. From Jun to their former manager Zachary to every single employee there. They were so nice to my wife when she was picking up my comic books while I had severely broken my finger. So, the issue. I'll start with the 30 year anniversary contest or whatever that was, of which I won. I was the "Most Valuable Customer", meaning I spent the most in a month long period basically. I won 30% off of any 1 item in the store for a year each month. I used that discount on more expensive items. I even talked to some of the staff about being excited to afford some of the more exciting items. Remember, this is 12 things in a calendar year. I used the discount on Omnibuses, Statues, that sort. One of the more exciting things I used the discount on was the first appearance of Big Barda. The owner's manager at the time reached out to ownership to confirm that he could sell me this comic book which is in a glass case behind lock and key. The owner confirmed that it was 30% off of everything that was in the store. In the store being the conceit. I actually used their website to order a $100 Batman hush figurine. I was told later that we won't be able to honor the 30% off on items ordered to the store. Which I agreed, made total sense. I then used the discount on a graded, signed Jim Lee Hush 2 comic. Shortly thereafter, I was told that the discount did not apply to items in the glass case. Understood, maybe there was some miscommunication. So I turned back to statues, artwork, and cool older comics up toward their like backlog section of the store. I used the discount on the Wolverine 1-5 collection they were selling. This was the original Wolverine comic book. I even bought one of their orange display cases, knowing it would look really awesome there. After this, I tried to purchase another book from that section but I was told that those were no longer a part of the 30% off. Now it was books and weeklies. Okay, so at this point it was near the end of the yearlong 30% off and like whatever. Owner is being weird for some reason, I'll just back off. It's no big deal. More recently, the store has been having a lot of turnover. Which sucks for them, but also isn't that somewhat on the person who hired this new manager. While they were there I had used the website--mind you -- like I had for the past 2 years+ since their new system had been created. During this time numerous comic books that I had ordered on the website just weren't in my pull list come wednesday, which was mostly around when I broke my finger in January It happened again. And again. And again. I was getting every single book I had ordered on the website in the past. The books I ordered, if I didn't receive them on the week I ordered them, they often times would never come. Early on in the process, their former manager showed me how to order on the website. Make sure orders were in on Friday to get them on Wednesday, this became difficult when I broke my finger, but I did my best. Now a few weeks ago, the owner was there and I politely asked when the books I ordered a month+ ago might be coming in. He then blamed me "You're always the last one to make an order, so if its a variant it's not gonna be easy." Okay. Fair enough. He then said he'd ordered them, they never showed up and the new manager he hired was kind enough to track them down and get me a copy. He fired that guy. For the 2nd time in a month he complained to me that I don't get my orders in on time. Even though I'd become more strict about Friday orders. He said I needed to use their Pre-order tab to ensure that I get a copy because "if 4 people order a specific book and I only have 3 then you won't get one" I have 2 kids and it's really hard to be checking the website all the time. Doing it on Fridays had always worked with my schedule So their website is not a preorder website, it sounds like your reserving books. Which if that's the case, then just change the verbiage on your website. I don't think that's the issue. The owner is either a rude, weird guy or he lies. He put me through the runaround during the 30% off thing and then he gaslit me into thinking Id done something wrong in their system. Which if it was the case, why not just tell me from the beginning. Why keep telling me the books were coming when they never were. It seems like the owner is incapable of taking any responsibility and just wants to pass blame onto whomever will take it from him. I recommend going to this store when he is not there. Because everyone is awesome and he needs to take a long look in the mirror because he is so clearly to blame for their recent troubles. I will not be returning to Collectors Paradise NoHo. I'll miss you guys, but I don't deserve to be treated like an idiot.
