It's just an old building. People are extremely kind there. I'm a stay at home mom that brings 3 kids so I can be healthy and that only cost me around $85/month. For the way they take care of my kids it's worth every penny AND they even offer to watch your kids if you want to go on a date with your spouse. That's above and beyond and that's more welcoming than anything I can think of. That's very special to me. They offer programs for the kids as young as 6 months. Parking can be busy, but I haven't had to wait long for someone to walk out. Thank you guys for looking out for us with children. That greatly appreciated.

I…read morehave been a member of weight-training gyms for 45 years, in multiple states from coast-to-coast, and continue to maintain memberships at other health clubs. My point- I am not a rookie-- my experience certainly lends creditability to my comments! First, the staff at Gold's has always been courteous, and they have great clientele. And the gym is always open as scheduled, even during very inclement weather. I appreciate that dedication! I often train twice a day- cardio at lunch, weight training in the evenings. For nearly a year now, I have been using one of the stationary bikes in the cycling room for cardio at lunch when inclement weather prevents cycling outdoors. And I am currently training for a 100 mile, Century ride, so I need the miles! I am almost always alone, and leave the bike and room as found (or better!). One day, however, the room is locked, and I am told I can no longer use these bikes. I ask to see the manager. He finally finds the time to talk with me, and states "I have decided today that we are going to charge $29.99 a month to use bikes in that room." This is in addition to the monthly dues. I then ask if everyone who is in the cycling classes does so. He states that they all pay the fee. He seemed very surprised when I agreed to pay the additional monthly fee, even though I would not attend the classes--- as long as they could unlock the room when I arrived. Over the course of the year, this usage averages about 1-2 days a week- some weeks zero, others 3-5. I thought the charge was extreme- given that I may go several weeks without needing to ride indoors, but again, the convenience and lack of other options left me little choice. However- upon further investigation, I could not find one single member who joins the cycling class that pays the fee! There may be some who pay- but I know a fair amount of the regular clientele, and each of these regulars were very puzzled by the thought of an extra fee. I mentioned this to the manager. I am now waiting for the other shoe to drop.........and get my refund. This could be the final Jeopardy question, the Daily Double! (inside joke). Thanks, happy lifting, Paul M

Tried to sign my daughter up for winter volleyball, and here we are week 3, we've had no practices, as of yet. Serious lack of communication with coaching staff and facility directors. Per volleyball coach, schedule posted on Fieldhouse website is inaccurate, and coach won't provide us with the correct date/time. According to Fieldhouse site, games begin this week.. yet no word from coach. Some of us work and have to plan things like this! All they have done since her being assigned to a team is ask for more money and cancel practices!!!!!!!! I've been robbed of nearly $300 and no one cares. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Above that is indoor track that runs around the whole space. You have to go downstairs to find weightlifting floor. I was expecting a light and fresh place, similar to Equinox. Instead, the walls are a light beige, making it seem kind of muddy, and the light is a little yellowish too. I was also a little surprised that they didn't have more squat racks (four). Although the number that they have for here is more than adequate I guess. They also have two Olympic lifting platforms which, interestingly enough, were being used all the time when I was there. It's nice to see people doing Olympic lifts, I used to think no one ever knew about them. Lockers Non-descript. The type where you bring your own lock, though most of the lockers are not day lockers but people's personal lockers. The showers seemed decent. Also, it seems one of the sinks was having issues, have no idea how long that had been going on but they way it was talked about seemed like it had been that way for a while.

They also have lines of cardio equipment, so you don't have to fret about not having one~ The swimming pool has a few lap lanes, a family wading pool, and an outdoor section with beach chairs as well. The area is pretty popular, so be prepared to circle swim ^^b kickboards and buoys are provided in a corner~ If you're not a student, then it's $10 per visitor for a day pass at the front desk. You can buy 10 passes for a slightly discounted price. I wish my university or current school had/has a student center as awesome as this one! The visitor pricing is a little steep for me for a single visit, but for students, this gem is free (sans tuition). Definitely don't miss an opportunity to stop by once!

The pictures in the review are misleading…read more The park is pretty dirty and overgrown. And there are limited signs so it took awhile to even find the lake. And the lake is disgusting. Stinks. It looks like several things are new: like the basketball court and playground. But the surrounding areas are absolutely neglected. Not the park for a peaceful walk.
