We stayed 5 days and spent most of that on the private beach, swimming and paddling around the lake on the paddle boat. The weather wasn't great for one of the days so we stayed inside and watched the thunderstorms over the lake (really romantic!), the rest of the time we grilled outside, enjoyed the Dowagiac offerings of a classic drive-in, farmer's markets, and a decent supermarket not far away in town. We really fell in love with this area and we'll be going back to stay at CJ's landing for sure - the quiet space and big lawn was perfect for relaxing and reading and next time we'll bring some fishing gear to enjoy the abundance of fish under the dock in the evenings.

The cabins could use some updating and basic cleaning before stays. I felt the cabin hasn't been in by housekeeping for about a week because there were dead bugs in the shower and top bunk. Also, there was a small amount of wood in the bathroom below the shower that had mold growing on it- you could smell it and see it. The screen door didn't shut all the way and the bottom sealant on the door was broken. We spent about 84,000 points on this Marriott stay, but I feel the experience is more towards 45-50,000 points, so a little disappointed in the amount spent and the quality of the cabin. Could use some simple updates. It's nice they include the firewood for the fire! We loved that aspect too!

It ended up being a glamping weekend for the family. Cabins are dog friendly. $50 charge for dogs but they are spoiled! There is a $70 destination fee which includes firewood, fire starters, snacks, waters, and s'mores. As a Marriott elite, I get the option of points or a food and beverage amenity. I usually go with the amenity when I'm not traveling by myself. Wow. Marriott out did themselves. Look how great the amenity box was. It included so many treats! This was our second time glamping, the first time with our own shower, toilet, and kitchen. Not too shabby! We really enjoyed cooking dinner and the complimentary pour over coffee. The windows were great! So big! Felt like we were in the woods. The space was very private too. Loved that there was no WiFi. There was a radio and books. We brought games but really loved that we got to talk with no interruptions. Would be fun to come back with a group of friends too.

The beds were comfortable and the linens nice. The kitchen and bath were tastefully done with granite and nice fixtures. All was in working order. The location was perfect. A short walk to the Brown Line, easy on street parking, lots of fun places to eat nearby. West Roscoe had an upscale family neighborhood vibe. We ate at the Turkish place and the Vietnamese place - both very good. A note to anyone who books #3. Make sure that you are comfortable with 2 flights of steep stairs. Make sure you know how to reboot a WIFI. And, ask about the A/C which must be on some sort of preprogrammed setting. We happened to be there when it was quite hot, so we had to often set the A/C to manual to cool off. This condo was a great home base for our 4 day weekend. It's always fun to be able to come "home" after a long day of sightseeing and relax and enjoy each others company in a comfortable space.

The guesthouse was our "base of operations". The place was immaculate and had everything we seemed to need in the well appointed kitchen. I even put the backyard grill to good use one night. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms had plenty of hot water, parking was convenient, and lots of interesting restaurants within walking distance. The neighborhood was full of happy children, and we enjoyed a game of Frisbee in a nearby park. You get a section of the house all to yourself. Includes a living room, bathroom and bedroom. I stayed here with my mom when she came to visit. The bed was SO comfortable. Theres also a fridge with free water bottles and snacks in the room. Free wifi. My only complaint about this was the bedroom and bathroom locks are old and don't actually lock. You have a section of the house to yourself but I'd still like a bathroom door that locks since its in the hallway. I'd stay here again. Close to the L train, shops and food. And is clean and comfy!

I had a minute to look at the menu while my bf already saw the raspberry lemon non dairy so I had my mind set on something orange creamsicle but wasn't sure if I'd get the shake or the cone so I opted for the shake since we were walking. Omg the flavor and everything about it took me back to my childhood memories of summers by the public pool and the simpler times. It was very satisfying! I did try the raspberry lemon and it was quite delicious as well, but I'm definitely an orange creamsicle gal. The young ladies were very sweet and helpful I love their kindness and I especially appreciate the young lady who rang us up and her patience since I was undecided at first.
