Some fat lady decided to close the store 15 minutes before closing and when I walked in she told me "just so you know I close in 5 minutes" and when I found what I needed and it was on the top rack said she couldn't help me purchase the item because it was was too high up for her to grab and she's scared of heights. I offered to get it myself but she said no. I'm sure she just didn't want to make a sale due to her already closing. As I walked out she walked out behind me ready to smoke a cigarette 15 minutes before closing. She basically denied me service cause she's lazy. read more

I sold my Xbox here to receive credit for a digital game. Not only did I receive next to nothing for the Xbox but the employee told me to buy the game online with the gift card given telling me it's the only way to do it. Every time I tried to purchase the game it charged my credit card and gift card and didn't send the game. Then I contact customer service and am instructed to wait 24 hours to attempt to purchase again. Now it's been 7 days of trying this DAILY and it's still happening and now they tell me you can't make digital purchase online. After a week of this!!! Now I go in to this store again and the original game I wanted is right there in digital and they never told me. So I go to purchase it using my pro card.. and guess what!? The system is down so they can't and refuse to give me my discount!! A game store that refuses to sell you a game!!!!! The incompetence of GameStop and its employees is absolutely mind boggling. I can't wait to finally use this gift card and never return. read more

I really wish the people wouldn't move on from particular jobs but I understand why because they don't get paid enough they don't get respected enough whatever. If you want to be called a "scalper" when trying to get ahold of a good deal for Christmas, go ahead and head into this local gamestop on the corner on buckley and quincy and look for Vincent. Ladies at this location are completely awesome but make sure to stay away from any one else that works in the afternoons. Terrible customer service toward someone spending hundreds of dollars. They need to retrain their management team as they are suppose to be leaders and not harras their customers. Maybe next time i will be treated better but at a different gamestop location, not giving my hard earned money to this location anymore. read more

The GameStop in Aurora, Colorado @Quincy Place stole my grandson's birthday gift. We put a PlayStation 4 Pro on layaway. They sold it to someone else during black Friday for half what they were going to charge us. They don't have another Pro4 and would have to order a new one for us which might take a week. HOWEVER, we have to pay the full $400 upfront. They can't or won't refund us the $124 we put on layaway. We won't get that back until later. BUT that amount was part of a trade and they don't refund trades. So we'd lose that trade in money, pay full price for a system they sold for half price. Asked to speak to the district manager and was told that they can't give out his information. So I asked them to give him my information to contact me and they said no they can't do that. My daughter's boyfriend spoke to the store manager over the store and he said they'd order a new system at $50 off, but it would take a week and give him a new controller. My daughter and son go to the store and the story completely changes. No upfront discounts and a used, not a new, controller. AND we'd have to pay for their mistake at full price. They would willing to work with my daughter's boyfriend BUT not my daughter or me. Ordinarily I would never bring up discrimination but in this case I'm going to. Although there is a part of me that thinks they lied to the boyfriend as well. They totally screwed up my grandson's birthday by selling the gift that was on LAYAWAY. And they are totally unwilling to make good on their mistake. Basically they stole something that was ours and sold it to someone else. read more

I am not a gamer, my daughter is. I went to buy her a Christmas present. I had a partial name of the video game she wanted, and also wanted to buy her a new game console. I walked in and one of the sales associates asked me what I wanted. I gave him the partial name. He then helped me determine (with some frustration on both of our parts) what I was looking for. I then told him I wanted a game console, to which there were two different versions, and three different "packs" available. Upon seeing how hopeless I was in the gamer world, he explained each one in detail. Long story, short(ish), fast forward to Christmas day, and my daughter told me it was exactly what she wanted. Great job guys, thanks for helping me not screw this up. read more

Update: District manager called me back. Was very understanding and offered to make it right by switching it out for a game that works with my pro controllers. Also replaced the pro controller I bought that wasn't working. Always have to respect when people make it right. read more

Husband and I went in to trade in a few games and the very rude cashier said he wasn't able to take our trade because someone else had a large trade in right before us. 1) not my problem, if you can't fulfill on your "trade in" policy, don't offer it. And 2) maybe mention that before we've been standing in the store for 20 minutes waiting for you to finish up. I understand that you may not have the cash in the register but a more apologetic approach would have been appreciated, and not wasting so much of our time just walking around the store would have given this store a better review. This is the 2nd time this has happened at this location. read more

When Santa brought my son the wrong epic Mickey game I called GameStop. They not only had the correct game but happily exchanged the one Santa brought and gave me a credit to use toward the replacement. Marcus was friendly and informative. On 11/5/2019, a youth that I work with and I went into this store. The store manager was there and was dealing with a customer that was unhappy about the warranty. The customer became destructive of the stores property and the manager proceed to call the cops and the lock everyone inside. The customer begged the store manager to let him go due to her calling the cops and the store manager refused to let him leave the store. The customer continued to plead with the store manager while the store manager was saying things like "this is what you get when you make poor choices" "if you choose to act like an adult, you will receive consequences like one" "we have cameras so we can see everything you've done"....eventually, the store manager unlocked the doors and let the customer leave, but the cops did not answer the phone call by the time the customer had left....After the altercation, the store manager continued business as usual. This is completely unacceptable, my youth and I were locked in this store with this situation along with another customer. There has got to be a better policy than to lock the customers inside with someone who is being unsafe. We were innocent bystanders who would not have been able to get out of the store as they were blocking the exit. All I can do is thank the lucky stars above that this customer did not have a gun and my youth was chillin playin the video games. read more
