The service here was not very good. I was told to come at 2pm for the switch by the cashier last week. I got there an hour early. Went in to look at what they have as well as ask about the switch 2. They said to come back at 2pm once the fed ex delivery guy came. So I did but then found out that they gave out tickets for those who could get the switch. The guy cashier didn't say anything so even though I asked about when to come back and I was waiting outside the store for 55 minutes. I have bought my kids plenty of games/toys from this particular store and usually my son likes to stop by before leaving the mall. There is one guy, seems to not be all there (not judging) but was straight out rude to my son. They seemed like they dont want to be bothered. My son was choosing which plushie to take and hugging them when he says hes been too rough with the toy. Huge gamer dad over here! Went in to buy Retrurnal, Resident Evil Village, and Pokemon Snap with my kids. I asked the sales employee if he could check if I had any certificates with my Pro Rewards membership. The employees are all very passionate & knowledgeable about gaming which is why I tend to favor this GameStop over others, but because this is in a mall, the crowds in this location can be crazy. The small location is jam packed with inventory so it's a tight squeeze when there's no one in there. Throw in little kids dragging their reluctant parents around to show them the newest title they want as well as even the shortest of check out lines and you've got yourself a maze to weave through just to get from one side to the next. Rather - my husband's name, since I'm not a gamer, really. This location is fine. Just fine. It's often quite crowded (good for them), and I guess they have all the new releases and an OK selection of used games. They didn't have any used Mario games (what we were looking for that day). Their prices are moderate - it depends how much you want to shop around. Sure, some things are less expensive on Amazon (but do you want to wait the day or two) and some things are less at other store, but sometimes really - it's about convenience. That's personally the only reason I would come here is if we needed something straight away. This Gamestop is located in the Shops at Mission Viejo on the first floor. I went in to check out anything on clearance. The staff sounded bored while making the purchase, but they were efficient and made no small talk or sales pitches, which I appreciated. The size of the store was slightly smaller than locations that were not inside shopping malls but still had a good selection available. It was not easy to maneuver inside, though. It's pretty close to the Pokémon GO gym in the middle of the mall. read more

A small gamestop. I like the service here. I'm always greeted with a smile and a friendly, "are you looking for anything in particular today?" They have a lot of wii games which I believe are all pre-owned. It's nice to know a place nearby has a great selection! One of the guys that works there recognized me as a regular at a different gamestop nearby (which he previously worked at) and asked me how I was which I thought was very nice of him. I love that the people here are always so friendly. I feel right at home! I like this gamestop a lot and am happy that it's located right in the mall closest to my house. I always feel like stores inside of malls often have the bad luck of getting crummy employees.....kids getting their first job in high school, adults who have burnt out, etc. But this mall in general seems to do really well attracting above average employees (except for some places in the food court that will temporarily remain nameless). Not only is the mall a generally OK place to be, this GameStop is EXCEPTIONAL. I have never had a bad experience here. The shopping highlights: -They have a fantastic supply of used games for all platforms and used DVDs. -They usually have used game consoles of all types in stock at competitive prices...and it is worth it not to shop around. -They answer the phone politely and will always check stock for you and hold what you need. -They don't try to "gamer quiz" me (more on this later). -If they DON'T have something, they will check another store or tell you when they are most likely to get it in. Not only that...but there are some cute employees here (yes, hot guy with the tattoos who likes BioShock...I am talking about you). It can be hard going into gaming shops as a girl, and they are always super nice here. Not only that, but I came in here a few times with a friend who is a mom and was shopping for her kids for Wii games (which I know nothing about because I am off the Nintendo-sauce and am currently on a 360 kick...and probably will be for awhile) and they were super helpful without being condescending. Not only that, but the employees here will take the time to recommend games for you based on the games you currently like. Also they don't try to do the measuring contest about "how much do YOU know about games, little girl" which I LOVE. I am not a game expert...I know what I like, and that is all I play. If I've never played something, chances are it is because I've never heard of it, and I've never heard of it because I don't spend my whole life on ign.com, and I don't spend my whole life on ign.com because...well...I have stuff to do. But if you want to tell me about a cool game instead of challenging my street cred, then, well...I will love you forever. And I heart all GameStop employees. It is always a joy to shop here and I will often come here instead of the location on Moulton when I am in this area, even if it is more of a pain to park at the mall. Best parking spot is near the food court; GameStop is located downstairs, almost underneath the food court, near Sweet Factory, across from See's Candies and MAC. GameStop is always a fun place to be for me, but the workers shape my experience a lot as well. This place has a group of the most dedicated and nicest workers I've met. The selection of games may not be as great as others because the store is small, but they go out of their way to call other stores and find the game or peripheral you are looking for. Plus, they are honest when you ask for their advice. I asked if the PS3 should be something that I should get because I'm a Wii person and they told me that it really just depends on the type of games I play. They said if I was into the intensed hardcore games then a PS3 would do, but if I wasn't then I'll be good with the Wii. I came in this morning since they were the only location around carrying the Steam Controller, and I picked one up as it was on sale for a good price. The employee that helped me was really nice and honest. I ended up absolutely hating the controller after a couple hours of trying to get used to it. I came back this evening to return it and the long haired guy working was super efficient in helping the seven or so customers ahead of me and was quick to process my return and suggested an Xbox controller which I ended buying with my store credit. He had a good attitude and was helpful AF. Will come back tomorrow to buy a PC adapter for my controller and for my future GameStop needs. read more

Cannon & the other guys here made my shopping experience so fun and easy. My son likes Dragon Ball z which I had very little knowledge. Cannon was so polite & professional in educating me on the Show. I feel like I have such a better understanding of what my son likes and that is so valuable to a Mother!! All the guys in this store were very engaging & intelligent. I must stress so very polite & genuinely seemed to love their job. What a great team of guys, they all showed a lot of respect to each other and worked so well. I felt very welcomed and although my home store is Lake Forest I will only come here from now on. My home store is ok but these guys really know their stuff. I really hope the management appreciate their team at Mission mall. It is hard to find this kind of service nowadays. I am giving 2 stars solely based off of the service experience we had today. I went at about 1 pm yesterday afternoon with my 2 kids who are 15 and 12. We went in , picked out the game we wanted and got to the cash register where the cashier, Darren looked at us and this kid had the most red glassy eyes I have ever seen in my life and trust me I have seen my fair share of stoner eyes. My 15 year old immediately looks at me and lips "OH MY GOSH" and rolls her eyes and my 12 year old son looks at me and says "what's wrong with his eyes?!" Obviously my son has no idea about getting high but after today he learned that this is what a person looks like high as a kite on weed and even tho it is legal in our state that does not mean it is professional to show up to work looking so high he couldn't even count the money I gave him to pay for my item, I had to tell him how much I gave him after he counted it wrong. This was a horrible and very embarrassing experience as a MOTHER to bring my CHILD in here to buy a game and have to end up having a talk about drug use in a mall!!! Hello. I was at this store on 1/11/2017 at 230 pm. I walked in and the store was a mess due to cleaning. I get it but the mess doesnt have to be in the door way. I couldnt find what i was looking for so i tried to ask for help. The female worker was too busy to notice us or to even talk. I said excuse me and all she did was look at me. I asked if she had any other stock in the back and she shook her head no. That was about the only contact i had cause she was so unfriendly. There was no attempt to assist with finding another store. You can sell your old games and gaming systems that you don't play anymore for in store credit and use that for getting a new system or games. You can also trade them in for a better deal than selling them if it is towards another game, just like trading in an old car. And of course you can buy used games, in store appropriate condition, or buy one new. When you walk into a GameStop it is not some huge store with multiple isles, they are little shops that always have enough room to move in. There is always some one ready to help you find a game that you are looking for or give a recommendation on one. Course not every store has every game so if one doesn't have it chances are that one some where around will, it might just a bit of drive to get it, especially if you are determined. GameStop's are not some big electronic store like Best Buy where it is some huge store and there is always numerous people even on weekdays and it always seems that there is always at least one person in front of trying to get help too with their problem. But recently Best Buy has tried to compete in a way with GameStop. They have allowed people to sell their games back to them now for the same rate as GameStop. Course if it is the same rate why bother then, well Best Buy is more than a video and computer game Nelson 2 store. There you can sell your games back for store credit, and with a wider range of merchandise, electronics and more. But even if you can get better stuff if you are willing to spend only twelve bucks a year, you can join GameStop's premium group where they give a certain percentage better when you trade in and when you buy games or systems from them you also get points, also when you sell your games you get points, that can be used to get cool prizes even more video games and systems. So with that being said even if you do want to buy something that Best Buy has that GameStop doesn't you could still buy a Best Buy gift card from them with your store credit. Still as GameStop's are small they don't have every game out there. As the gaming world grows and certain systems become obsolete and others become popular, GameStop has to keep up with the gaming world. So after a certain amount of time older games and systems stop being sold. So for those who are retro gamers, you would have to check for a different place to buy. As a serious gamer, GameStop has a better feeling walking in and does not seem that you are getting to ripped off when you trade games in. Though if you are not one of those who are serious and just like to play them on the weekend or in your free time, then maybe Best Buy is the better choice if you want some sort of new electronic that does not revolve around gaming. Even if you don't plan on buying a game and just want to see what is coming out soon or eventually going in and just talking is good too if you are serious. And if you don't want to always go in for info on future games another reason to sign up for their premium club is that you also get a subscription to Gameinformer, which comes every Nelson 3 month and tells you about up coming games and gives reviews on new games. So if even You do not care about the extra percentage and just like to read up on games, it is cheaper to sign up for the premium then buying each magazine separate. So whether you are interested in gaming or you are tired of your old games and need some money or even an entire new gaming system there is no better place, but if you need some other electronic you better look some where else. GameStop is the best place to get deals on games and the best part of it is that for those kids who have trouble buying new games, or if you just want to get a game cheap and you know the condition will allow it to work at least, it's nice to know that there is an alternative for buying expensive games.
