Updated Review - Well, they finally closed up shop, and honestly, that tracks. Every time I went in, they never really had much new stock, so it always felt kind of stale. Never really got any box set stuff or collectors edition games. The main employee that I would always see there during the week was very unprofessional too, constantly venting to customers about how they didn't want to be at work, along with other things, which made the whole shopping experience awkward. On top of that, she was super pushy about buying disc protection. Even after saying no, she'd still press, like, "Are you sure? It's really cheap." Like, I GET IT, Gamestop is forcing you to hit your numbers, but you could really use a better sales tactic for that. It was fineee if you just wanted to browse, but not a place I was ever really excited to goto. Not surprised they shut down, but at least I won't have to dodge the sales pitch anymore. read more

We arrived a bit early to check in and they had a very organized, streamlined process to pick up the games. The employees were really nice and organized. We got out surprisingly fast! Don't buy anything here unless you're sure that you want to keep it. I bought a new game last Thursday and didn't like it. I went to bring it back, but because I opened the plastic wrap, they are "unable to make a return or an exchange, but they can buy it from me at trade in value." That's a policy that the customer should be informed of when they're buying your product. What a waste of money. I'll never buy anything from a GameStop again. read more

This store is my hidden gem! My son loves everything Pokémon and this is my go to spot and I've been everywhere. I normally get great service no complaints. It's always pretty easy I go there and know exactly what I want then I buy and leave. However this last time not so much. The girl working was obviously not having the best day or maybe that's how she always is. It's a customer service job so if you aren't semi friendly or accommodating then why do it? All I asked was for a specific item and she goes and grabs the same item but from below. I tell her no I want this one and she responded with "does it matter?" and an eye roll. You know the look I'm talking about. I'm spending my money so I should get exactly what I want it's simple I wasn't asking for something outrageous. Just her whole attitude and the way she was is very off putting. Not to mention she was pissed about a customer phone call she just had and mumbled something under her breath. Prolly mad because they called and she had to answer questions. Management could give her some pointers for sure. I hope this is just one isolated issue and it won't be a on going thing. read more

I loved GameStop and have since they opened. I have been on the hunt for fingerlings this Christmas season. I called my local store and they were sold out and then they did an inventory search for me. Great news! There are 2 at the 22803 44th Ave W, Mountlake Terrace, WA store. Wow. Called them and asked to purchase both by phone or hold them for me. He told me he couldn't take orders over the phone and couldn't hold them. It wouldn't be fair to "his" repeat customers. My second favorite GameStop to go to. I figure if I'm going to give my money to corporate video game retailer conglomerate it'll take a pretty awesome store to keep my attention. I despise going to the mall stores, they seem to be filled with a bunch of bloody kids whining to their parents to buy some Pokemon game or full of window shoppers that take up some ever crucial space. I come to this Mountlake Terrace GameStop for two reasons... 1: It attracts the very bare minimum of window shoppers... 2: the staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and overall really nice. I much prefer going to this GameStop instead of the ones in the mall down the road. They tend to be very crowded and the salespeople there are annoying (cruel, I know). I just like to be able to just go in and look without being bothered every three minutes. This GameStop seems to be more quiet, larger and more open inside. They also appear to have a greater selection of games. The guys working here are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable- while not as pushy or awkward as the other places. I don't think many people even know there is a GameStop in Cedar Plaza- but it is definitely one of the better ones I've been to. read more

I walked in Sunday morning looking for a small item. The girl behind the counter said to look around. She then continued her very loud conversation with her boyfriend. They bashed the manager for five minutes going on about getting caught not wearing their apron while on the job. Then they argued over who worked at the better store. Needless to say I never found the item and never got any support. I will say that I will never step foot inside another GameStop after today. I would gladly go out of my way to avoid spending my money to support employees who don't care. Never again! read more

I always enjoyed going to gamestops my whole life. Now that I'm an "adult" nothing has changed. I was looking for a soccer game for my psp and looked it up online and they tell you what locations near you have it, its a very cool feature if you're looking for a certain new or used title. My neighborhood gamestop had it, and for some reason I never been to it til today. The workers were nice and friendly. The store was clean and pretty organized and I found my game in just a couple of minutes. I just wish I could figure out how to win at this damn game even on easy mode arghhhhhh. read more

I brought my kiddos here to get a code for their Pokemon games, even though it was the end of the month and there were no longer any code cards. Paul called around to all nearby GameStop stores until he could hook us up with a code, which saved the day for my son. The woman who worked there was really knowledgable about both the inner workings of the rewards program they offer, as well as the games and products they sell. The Mountlake Terrace GameStop may be a little off the beaten path in the middle of the suburbs, but is well worth your time stopping by. After being built a few years ago just a few blocks from my home, I have become a regular customer and have had quite a number of pleasant experiences. This GameStop features all the basic services you can expect at any location, but without the hectic "mall atmosphere." It is located in a small residential shopping center together with a QFC, Bartell Drugs, Sound Community Bank, and a number of other small shops, restaurants, and services. This is right along 44th Ave. W., a short distance south of the Mountlake Terrace High School (strategic position, eh?). The GameStop itself is rather cozy, but still up to two or three times the size of what you find in their sometimes horribly cramped mall setup. And since it is not within a mall, it is a wonderful thing: quiet!!! It is a very relaxing place to go and simply peruse the selection, check out what's new, or just play some demos. A nice hangout location. The regular [non-temp] staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, even if they do make an occasional slip-up ("Dude, Samus is a robot." - hahaha). They are very good at helping you find what you're looking for, and always make excellent suggestions on other games already out or upcoming, including lesser known titles that don't get much hype. You can tell they enjoy their job. They even keep all of the merchandise on the shelves meticulously straight and well organized alphabetically, like all GameStop's should, but so often don't. The drawbacks to this location, though, are closely related to the benefits. As I said, this isn't in or near a mall. As a result, it gets less traffic, less trade-ins, and less attention in general. While they do carry a wide selection of games and accessories for all the required platforms (PS2/3, GC/Wii, Xbox/360, DS, PSP, and DVDs), their selection is not quite as wide as the stores with more traffic, and it can take a while for the used game selection to change. PC games are not present at all, nor are any other platforms. And if you're looking for a newly released title, if it is popular enough it will be there, but for more niche titles you had better have put a reservation on it ahead of time or it won't be there. I have been disappointed a few times in that regard. So while I can't give this location 5 stars, due to the issues above, when you are actually in the store it certainly feels like a 5 star experience. The friendly and knowledgeable staff, together with the relaxing atmosphere, make it a pleasure to shop at this location. A recommended stop for dedicated gamers when you're in the area. read more

I recently went in to this store to buy a Fallout Season Pass for my daughter. When I went over to her place to give her the code she noticed that I had bought the code for the wrong console. :( I was so bummed because they are non refundable, but we went back in the next day and explained what happened, Josh was so great about it. Very patient guy and was able to exchange over to the one we needed, I was so relieved, highly recommend this location. read more

Got an Xmas gift game that was 'above my pay grade' and took it in to exchange 12 DAYS after full price purchase of $39.95. To be fair to the gift giver, I did open and try the game once. I was manager of an electronics store in the past, so was careful that package was complete and new. Did not expect a refund, nor even full price credit but at least 50% or $20 toward another game. Was shocked to be offered LESS THAN 1/3 PURCHASE PRICE, $11. NEVER BUY A GIFT GAME HERE - THEIR POLICY MAY AS WELL BE 'NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES'. read more
