FALSE ADVERTISING!! Found this place on google maps so wanted to check it out, complete waste of time. Their sign says Toys, Video Games, Comics and Collectibles...you might be able to get comics, but don't go looking for video games, definitely don't have those. The posted pictures are all outdated and deceiving. The hours stated 10-5pm, no open signs at all 2pm on a Friday. Apparently you can't even just go into the building, it's by appointment only. But you only know that once you show up and read the tiny note on the door. This is not a store like it advertises it to be. If you don't want people to know you're there then take down your sign or make it more generic. All these bad reviews make a lot of sense now, so take all of our advice and don't waste your time with whatever this is. read more

This place looks like a giant nerd hoarded lots of cool geeky stuff for years and then decided to sell it. There is ton of really cool stuff in here and if you spent a few hours browsing I'm sure you could find lots of awesome loot. The location is a little bit weird and hidden away in a strip mall, but there is plenty of stuff inside once you find it just off the 405. I dropped in here after work with a friend and we were excited to check out the place. The funko wall was super cute, and there was a huge range of comics, although it was a by hard to see all the stuff that was available because there wasn't much room on the shelves. I did pick up a copy of a comic I had been looking at for ages, and although my friend found something she wanted where the cover price was $3.99, she was told that the "actual" price for it was $20! When we queried that, we were told, "oh, we just changed the price for that one recently." However, there wasn't anything to indicate that at all on the comic. Needless to say, we put that one back. Service wise, I wasn't treated obnoxiously like some other yelpers mentioned, but I don't know if it was just because we didn't look like serious geeks and not worth serving or something. That's fine by me, although it also means that there's nobody to ask for help when I need it. There is also a massive range of old school console and early day portable gaming--I found a Sega Game gear in here for $60. I had one as a kid and it was great for nostalgic purposes, although I think my gaming tastes have evolved since then. There are some game boy color and ds games as well, but they were quite spendy. I imagine this would be good for people planning to add to their collections but not much else. There is plenty of room in the parking lot. I always stop by this comic book store when visiting my mom (I live in California). I've googled nearby comic shops to Seattle area. I've visited most of if not all shops that have silver age books to browse. This is my favorite place. I prefer older books and finding key issues of my favorite super heroes. There's so many comic here, older and modern... very good condition. The guy that owns the place knows his stuff and I usually leave learning something new. Very helpful and informative. In a strange and inconvenient location for me surrounded by drab office buildings are most of my childhood dreams come true. I sort of feel bad for this place because the poor location means that you can easily miss the store unless you're actively trying to seek it out. I also pity the numerous one-star reviews that are generic and very suspiciously written, most likely by people working for competing businesses. I'm not even sure how big of a deal that is because when I mentioned to the guy behind the counter that I found out about the store on Yelp, he didn't have much of a reaction. Anyway, this is a video game store that fills in where GameStop does not. The primary draw of this store to me is all the retro games that they have. Of course, that's not all they specialize in. They have quite a variety of comic books, strategy guides, and action figures. Dear God, they have a ton of Star Wars action figures. This is stuff that you could not easily find in a more mainstream store like GameStop, so expect the prices to be high on average. Let's see, I saw some crazy stuff like Chrono Trigger for $125 and Pokemon Red for $45. You could get much better deals on Amazon or Craigslist if you're okay with not buying directly from a store. Then again, there are some good deals here for average games that are priced under ten dollars or even five dollars. And at the very low end of the spectrum, absolutely worthless games like Madden 2005 for the Nintendo DS and Sprung are only one dollar each. One problem that I have is with their paltry selection of Game Boy Advance games; they had no Fire Emblem or Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones which I've been trying to find for some time. On the plus side, they do have some original contributions like fan-made redesigns, which are essentially ROM hacks that have been unofficially edited and uploaded onto plastic cartridges that supposedly can be played on the real consoles. This includes imports from outside North America like Terranigma and Dragon Quest V, as well as fan overhauls like Zelda: Parallel Worlds. If you're that devoted of a fan, you can spend roughly a hundred dollars for the box and a hard copy as opposed to using an emulator or YouTube. My impression is that to even run a store like this, you would need to be fairly knowledgeable about video games in general and probably be a hardcore gamer. But when I asked the store clerk whether he could replace the dead save battery for my Pokemon Crystal cartridge, he simply said they don't do that here. Disappointing, as this is a common problem and step-by-step tutorials as well as videos have existed online for years showing how to address this issue. I'm just lazy and don't feel like doing it myself. In the end, I want to give these guys a positive review because they do carry a whole lot of stuff that is becoming rare nowadays. I saw Nintendo 64 transfer paks in their inventory, and that tempts me to buy a Nintendo 64 and Pokemon Stadium 2 so that I can play my old Pokemon games at super speed. I'm kind of deterred from doing that because it's a bit expensive, and they also don't seem to put a lot of care into cleaning the used stuff they sell. They have an impressive collection, and the one lady working did ask me if I needed anything several times. Purchased some comics for wife and three used toys. I'd bought from them on eBay before so I was pretty excited to dig in. We Live in vancouver, WA so this was my first chance to drop by. Two were fantastic, but the other, which I was told was missing accessories was not only missing accessories, but two main parts and had a broken lever. I didn't ask for cash, I just asked for an exchange, but after a phone exchange, we both donked up a bit, she thought I wanted cash back instead of just an exchange we worked it out and I left with more cool swag. read more

I have to say that I am incredibly disappointed in the business practices of this store. My boyfriend WHO LIVES IN SEATTLE and DOES NOT HAVE A CAR, went all the way to Kirkland on the bus to buy me a Nintendo NES that he saw advertised by Amazing Heroes on Craig's List. While he was there HE WAS TALKED INTO a gold "special edition" version. He thought I would love it because it was different and was charged almost three times as much for this console. He gave it to me last night and this "special edition" was spray painted with gold paint. There were also a few games included one of which was another "special edition" Super Mario Bros that was also gold. While I am touched by the thought behind my boyfriend's gift (since I have wanted one for a while now) I am upset about the business practices Amazing Heroes employs. 1) They TOOK ADVANTAGE of a customer who didn't know any better. My boyfriend is not a Nintendo aficionado and when he was told it was "special" he thought they were telling him the truth, not just selling him a spray painted version for three times the price. 2) When my boyfriend called today to express frustration because we both took a closer look and realized it was spray painted, they told him that THEY WOULDN'T TAKE IT BACK and that "the spray painting was done well." He asked if they would consider doing an exchange and he would make up the difference by buying additional games. They again said no and said, he "could probably sell it on Craig's List." I work in marketing and have worked in Customer Service for a number of Fortune 500 and small mom & pop companies. This is not how you get or retain customers. Finally I've gotten to visit some of the Seattle places I've seen on YouTube. I hadn't heard of this specific Amazing Heroes, but was pleasantly surprised. They're selection was sublime and even ventured into TG-16 stuff(which I hardly see). The staff were fine. Nothing extraordinary. One of the staff brought his 4 year old daughter who yelled a lot throughout my time there. I don't mind little kids, but this kid wasn't being very reasonable. Maybe I was just in edge from the car ride so don't be put off from going here solely on this child's performance. My slight issue with the staff was that I bought $80 worth of stuff but the tax in Seattle was an extra $8. I had $86 in cash and as I was emptying my whole wallet(I don't have a credit card) the guy didn't budge or give me even a $2 discount. I'm not saying I deserved a discount, but I was buying a decent amount of stuff and was short only two bucks. All in all, this was a great store, just don't expect any discounts or amazing customer service. read more

This store advertises some of their games/consoles on Craigslist. I saw that they had a sega saturn gen2 there with 5 games. I made the trip on my lunch break from work down to Kirkland (skipped my lunch :-( ) so i could pick up this Saturn they were advertising. However, when I got there they didn't have a gen2 saturn they had a gen1 and the store was being run by the owner's buddy that to his own admission "doesn't know that much about games" while the owner was enjoying a vacation in Hawaii. When I got to the store I couldn't see the saturn or any of the games so I was worried. Talked to the guy working there and he talked to the owner on the phone. I didn't hear the whole conversation but it certainly sounded like they either: a. They never had the items in the first place b. They sold the items, didn't remove the ad from Craigslist and continued to use it to attract new customer's to the store. Needless to say this is false advertising. If you're a professional business you make sure the person you leave in charge knows somewhat about the product they are selling. Additionally, if you sell an item you take the ad down - I watched that ad sit there on Craigslist for 3 days, they had plenty of time to remove it but didn't. Instead he was too busy enjoying his Hawaiian vacation. Hope you had fun Mr. owner! I will not be going back to this store. This place is alright I guess. Still not a bad place to check out stuff. Went here with some time to kill as I was going to grab lunch with a friend afterwards. This visit being my second time here, their new location is small but cozy. The building is a portable unit with a small parking lot. Just a word of caution, I suggest parking more on the right as it looks like your car has a better chance of getting hit if parked on the left side. Walking in, I was greeted by the owner and he was doing his own thing. I talked to him for a little bit and he did show a little bit of interest in getting to know me as a customer though, multitasking at the same time on the computer. Inside are comic books, funkos, random toys, and video games. Being a retro game collector, I spent the most time looking at the video game portion. Looking at their selection, they have some good rare stuff being in the glass case while the rest are on the shelves. As a retro JRPG fan, I saw some rarities in the glass case like Valkyrie Profile, Brigandine, Wild Arms 4/5, some Suikoden games like 2 and 4, pokemon GB carts (not sure if batteries are changed), and Ogre Battle on the N64. On the shelves are the usual plethora of used sports games, shovelware, and overproduced mainstream titles like Halo and CoD. Though, you may find some good uncommon games on the shelves like Panzer Dragoon on the Xbox. Pricing is about the same as Internet prices. Most games sold are CIB so expect to pay around the same price as you see on Ebay, Amazon, and pricecharting.com minus the shipping. Overall, this place is alright. Unless you're looking for a game that you are desperate for, I feel like other places around the Seattle area would have it as well at more competitive prices. Maybe give this place a try and you'll have a more mind blowing experience than I did. read more

I've had pretty neutral experiences with Amazing Heroes up until my last visit. My most recent experience with them has led me to the decision of not purchasing from here again. I payed a visit two days ago. Each time I have entered this store there has always been an impressive stock of games and collectibles. I collect for the Super Nintendo and was pleased when I came across this store to shop at. In my most recent visit, I saw that the store had a copy of Earthbound. I've been trying to pick a physical copy up for a while now, but because the game is so hard to come across (not to mention expensive... they had it priced for 225.00) I wanted to take a closer look at the cart itself. The guy working handed me the cart and while inspecting the cart's condition I noticed that the back on the cart had the wrong year for the games release. It's not a huge red flag, but it means the cart was previously opened and the back was replaced for a cleaner back at some point. However, because the back was switched AND the game was selling for more than $200, I wanted to make sure it was legit. I mentioned to the guy working (he looked like he was in his mid 20s) that I was interested in possibly trading in some games towards purchasing the Earthbound. He looked at me for a few seconds and turned to his coworker and asked "Do we do trade ins here?" I wasn't prepared to hold this against him if it was his first day or something, but I thought that in this business it'd be a little obvious that they purchased and sold a lot of the collectibles they had there. I followed up by asking if I could have the Earthbound opened to take a look at the board. Before the guy who was helping me could answer, some guy who was sitting in the back on his computer looked at me and said: "You want us to open it up for you?" I told him yes, and he proceeded with saying: "No, we don't open up the carts. And we don't have the tool." As someone who has worked in the trade industry as well as 3+ years of collecting in retro collection, I find it extremely insulting that someone doesn't want to take 20 seconds to open up a game for a potential buyer to inspect if the game is legit. While I have never had a problem with the staff and the protocol of the place previously, this gave lots and lots of red flags here and I would not suggest any collector to shop here. read more

The guy at Amazing Heroes in Kirkland is either an idiot or straight-up lied to me, robbing $7 from me. I asked point blank, "Hey, do you know if this Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds XBox Disk will play on the XBox 360?" The girl there (who was very nice and attentive and friendly, btw) had to get the attention of the guy with the shaved head, who seemed annoyed that I wanted to give him money in exchange for goods and/or services. He begrudgingly looked it up and said "According to The Wiki, it will work". I asked again, "You sure? The two-game disk?" He seemed insulted, repeated that it was on the Wiki. So then I asked if they had any kind of return policy for if it didn't work, he ANGRILY said "NO RETURNS ON ANY PURCHASES". I tried to lighten the mood and said "Ha ha, well okay then... but if it doesn't work, it's your store's reputation that's on the line!" "IT'S ON THE WIKI" was his reply. I bought the game and got it home. Popped it in, the console says "This disk is not playable on the XBox 360 platform". Since I now have access to The Internet, I look it up on the Wiki, and it IS NOT listed on the Wiki Page of XBox Games playable on the XBox 360 :( Like I said, he's either an idiot or just a straight-up liar. The selection is great if you're looking for vintage video games. The ownership is great if you live in bizarro world where dishonesty and smarminess is considered admirable customer service. This was a clear-cut case of false advertising. I purchased a video game system bundle that listed components I came to find later on weren't actually in the box. On top of that, some of the hardware in the bundle didn't work when I set it up. I emailed the owner about these things and he acted like an absolute cold and uncaring peddler. He did offer to replace the broken equipment, but had nothing to say for his false advertising. He just cared that he made his cash and had no interest in retaining me as a customer, which is crazy because I spent more than 150 dollars on my first visit. In fact, h tried to turn it around as if I did something wrong. Unbelievable. Very uncomfortable experience. I recommend you find some another vintage toy shop where the people care. read more

I initially couldn't decide whether or not to give Amazing Heroes a 1- or 2-star rating. The extra star would have been for the outstanding selection of video games they carry, for both collectors and casuals. (The first time I entered, I was impressed by the rarities and solid organization in this little hidden "gem" of a store.) I've settled on a 1-star rating, though, because there's still a bad taste in my mouth from the truly horrid customer service displayed by the unprofessional owner. (TL;DR below the novella) I had made a few game purchases from Amazing Heroes when my third fat PS2 in 12 years died out from normal use. AH has great prices on used systems, so I figured, "Why not?" I was also guaranteed at the counter that each used system sold was cleaned and tested before sale. "Great!" I thought. So I took the system--which came in a standard USPS Priority Mail box (looks like they get their supply via mail from a third party), one of many in a stack on a shelf--and left. When I got home, I found the system was cosmetically acceptable, though no beauty, and I immediately went to work testing some DVDs, PSX games, and PS2 games (mostly new-to-like new with no notable scratches, and previously tested and working fine on my last PS2). The system, unfortunately, had about a 40% success rate in reading discs, so I decided to exchange it for a reliable one. I went back to swap it, and I was more skeptical about cosmetic quality this time, so I asked to open the second one and have a look at it. The system they pulled out for me was cosmetically defective (missing its HDD port cover, damage to the case, the controller severely beat up), so I asked them to grab another. The employee, clearly annoyed (either that she had to make the effort or that I expected a quality product), did as requested, and the next system looked fine to my eye. However, the moment I took the system out of the AH building (which smells strongly of drywall) and into my own, smoke-free home, I noticed my mistake. The system had a strong cigarette smoke smell that I neglected to check for earlier. It worked, but I felt nauseous using it or the included controller. I was pretty tired of returning these at this point, and I could tell the owner was tired of having to deal with me when I came back to AH again. I advised him of the smoke smell, and, without making eye contact with me once, he mused aloud about 'Why I brought the first one back, then, as it was in fine working condition when he tested it.' I was taken aback by his rudeness, passive aggression, and implication that I somehow either wasn't competent enough to have tested it on my own or that I had lied about its condition. Instead of an exchange for another "cleaned and tested" PS2 at that point, I (understandably) wanted to get a refund or store credit. I could get a new slim PS2 at Fred Meyer down the street or Amazon for less trouble. I asked him as calmly as I could (while seething inside) if I could just have a refund or store credit to buy a different product and be done with it. He pointed to a small sign next to the register that said that sales were final and refunds wouldn't be provided. 'That was acceptable,' I said, 'but what about store credit so I could let him keep the money and not have to deal with faulty PS2s anymore?' 'You can't have a refund just because you decided you didn't like it,' he told me. Wow. He had created a narrative in his head about why I was returning these, and he was sticking to it. Rather than refute him, I gave in and asked for another PS2 off the shelf, making sure to get a nice one before I left the store for the last time. In maybe the longest ten minutes of my life, I worked with his employee to find an acceptable one while he stood a few feet away, watching like a hawk. We opened two with serious cosmetic issues before I found a nice-looking one that smelled fine, and I agreed to take it home. Before he let me go, he made sure to test it personally on a TV in his makeshift den behind the counter so we could both see that it worked. It did, and I left. And I definitely won't be going back again. TL;DR: Amazing Heroes sold me unreliable/dirty used equipment, and its rude, passive aggressive owner chose to accuse me of dishonesty and defer to an unadvertised return policy limitation to save a few bucks in the moment and lose a customer in the long run. read more

When I walked in for the first time I was blown away by the selection of retro toys and games they had. Tons of starwars, transformers, TMNT, he-man, and much more. Even better, was the HUGE selection of old NES games, as well as SNES, genesis and more. If youre looking for an old NES game for a decent price, there is a good chance it will be there. Most of their selection is cartridge only, but in return their prices were anywhere from a $1-$15 for a game. They also have a bunch of accessories and systems. This is a gold mine for retro games. They have a bunch of rare games too. Oh did I mention they have comic books here too? wow... I don't know what the other reviews are talking about. I've been in twice. The first time the lady there said hello when I walked in and then helped me later with some game questions. The second time, the owner helped me and asked if I had any questions. He was nice, took his time in answering questions, made some good recommendations and was straight up honest about certain products. I thought their prices were pretty fair so I bought a couple games and some old comics. I was happy to find when I got home I checked some prices on the internet and was happy I got quite a good deal at Amazing Heroes. Usually its the other way around. Well honestly a few of there things in store were a little higher, mostly the rare stuff, but the stuff I bought I got a deal for sure. I definitely will be coming back. My new favorite place. I wish they had more Lego and Ghostbuster stuff, but I cant complain, they have everything else I like. read more

I stopped in looking for yet another place to search for the comics needed to complete my various collections. I was very disappointed by the limited amount of comics available, but completely blown away by the vintage toys and video games. I should clarify that the comic selection was great for diversity, but sorely limited in volume, a single island in the shop. What struck me was after 5 minutes in the shop, my face was hurting due to how much I was grinning. I spent a great deal of time ogling the original Megatron transformer that I had always wanted as a 10 tear old. This place is great for any geek who is feeling nostalgic for the toys of their youth... but this nostalgia comes at a premium price. read more

They've apparently just moved and are still unpacking but there a lot of nice, nostalgic toys and video games from older days up for sale, comic books too. The score is mostly for presentation/potential, I did not buy anything but the woman tending the store was polite and friendly while I was there. Please know that this owner is DISHONEST. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with Amazing Heroes at 2017 Emerald City Comic-Con. I find my grail book (Iron Man 55, 1st Thanos.) We agree on a price. With cash in hand, I remark that I will be going directly to CGC to get it pressed, dry-cleaned and graded (yes, I am a semi-serious collector). He proceeds to take out an eraser and clean the book of some of its smudges. As he is saying that he should stop and simply give me the book and take my money, HE RIPS THE BACK COVER. He then comments that the book is no longer at the agreed-upon price and offers a new lower price. I tell him that I'll have to now think about it. However, I return in about 10 minutes to buy book at the new lower rate. He doesn't honor the price he gave. He rationalizes with me that it was already underpriced (b/c he just checked eBay.) Secondly, he tries to convince me that with a 1-inch cover tear, a 1/2 inch marvel chip, and cream-to-tan pages (to remark on the more significant defects) that this book is still a Very Good/Very Good+ condition book. Sorry, I own an Overstreet comic guiding guide and have developed a comic grading app. I know that the book is 3.0-3.5 at best. I proceeded to let all the vendors at the convention know my story. POST-COMMENT FROM BUSINESS OWNER: I was the one who recommended to bring you over. I believe that the litany of one-star reviews speaks volumes about your business and, by extension, yourself. Buyer Beware! Terrible customer service. Store does not standing behind what they sell. Your SOL if you buy here! I purchased a used inbox video game system and game. I paid more then I would have if complete in box anywhere else. I get home try to set it up and it did not have a controller for the game system in the box. Called back figuring it had to be a mistake and the store owner/manager told me he does not put together the packages and you get what you get and he cannot help me. As a small reward for my 13 year old son, this morning I told him I'd stop by this comic book store that he likes. He had $100 in birthday money that he'd been saving up and they have a lot of cool stuff. We pulled in and noticed that it opened at 11am and it was 10:45am so we sat and waited until they were open. A guy pulled up and went in and we waited for him to set up and turn on the open sign. No big deal. My son went in with $100 he'd saved up to maybe buy a Nintendo game or a comic - a funko..whatever they have a bunch of stuff and he's got a lot of varied interests. I sat in the car and waited as it was his money and he could spend it on what he wanted. My son came out ten minutes later visibly upset and said the store owner was a big huge jerk and told him he "couldn't loiter around in the store because he had stuff he needed to do". I called the guy and asked if he really got mad and told my kid this and he said "well I didn't get mad but yeah I asked him what he wanted and he couldn't tell me.. I have things to do; I have to unload my truck and get things done." I stated that browsing, especially in a store like that, was pretty typical and he started getting annoyed with me saying my son was looking at everything - comics, video games and couldn't tell him specifically what he wanted. Ok so browsing? I told him that he wasn't sure what he wanted and didn't go in specifically with a list and he's a kid with ADHD so it was possible he was looking at several things and "all over the place" and they guy said in a really patronizing tone "Then maybe you should have come in with him". I told him I wasn't aware that business was so good that you could turn customers away who wanted to browse and buy stuff. He again told me that he had things to do and didn't have time to deal with my son looking at everything around the store. I mentioned that I'd be sure to leave a review reflecting our experience and he told me "I'm sure you will because you're petty like that!" and hung up on me. So.. long story short. Avoid this store like the plague. So, yeah.. customer service isn't a high priority here. My kid wanted to come in and browse around for cool stuff. Sorry you "had things to do" like opening your store for customers. After this experience I logged my "petty" self on to warn others and found all these reviews that I completely believe. There are loads of other places around that actually like customers. Shop there instead. read more

My son (12 yrs) purchased an XBOX game for $25 while I was out of town. The game would not load on our XBOX 360. Although it appears online to be backward compatible, a large scratch on the disc is the likely culprit (I think...). I brought the game back (day 5) and the owner was able to start the game on the original XBOX. Not willing to play the game on the 360. He said my console is likely worn out and offered me $13 since I missed the 2-day return policy. I explained that my XBOX 360 is a new system so it's likely the game and not the console. My one-star review is based on customer service. The game is not useable and I believe the large scratch is to blame. Had my son been more experienced, he would have checked a used disk before buying it, saw the scratch and not bought it. He also would have realized the disc was for the original XBOX and very likely might not work for the XBOX 360. Had the owner demonstrated a high level of customer service, we not only would have purchased another game at the time of returning the old game, we would have been a long-time customer being that we live just blocks from the store. Unfortunately, we will not return to the store because the owner is obviously not interested in my business. read more

I'm something in an expert in dealing with those with antisocial disorders. I mean Christ, I'm Darth Vader - you think I haven't come across my fair share of Star Wars geeks and Trekkies? You think I haven't run across socially inept munchkins? You think I haven't intentionally started Wars vs. Trek battle royales so I could sneak off with some hot cosplayed lady? Think again. When it comes to comic book shoppes, I give a lot - I mean a LOT of leeway to the personality traits of the owners who are also invariably the cashiers of such establishments. I understand a certain amount of brusque behaviour is generally the rule. I even acknowledge that not even showing up in full regalia and with a fully functioning iLightsabre is always enough to melt the ice on that front. But these people....sheesh. I understand why it is - both the owner and his wife are apparently former lawyers, which explains why collectively between them they have about as much charm as a Tatooine Sandworm. But they are so condescending, so utterly dismissive - of people such as myself looking to spend potentially thousands of dollars on nothing more than a single comic book that it crosses over into a level of actively wanting to see them cleaved in two. This place has 2 full glass cases of vintage comics - including a lot of highly sought after titles. We're talking first appearances of Thor, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, the first X-Men, etc. The issue is, 95% of them are in poor-to-fair condition, which makes their potential grade hard to judge, as it becomes subjective and largely dependent on the insides of the comics themselves. Here's the tangle with that: None of his shit is graded. He has allllllll of these Silver Age comic books potentially worth a chunk of change, and he refuses to send ANY of them in to CGC in order to have them evaluated and graded. Anything obviously high grade, he wants well above book. As a matter of fact, if you even ask him why his stuff isn't graded, you'll be treated to a 25 minute diatribe about why it is he hates the CGC and how the whole thing is a sham. OK, to each their own on that front. I mean hell, I understand the path to hate and suffering better than anyone, right? So what you've got here are a lot of raw comic books. Nothing inherently wrong with that. The issue there is, a raw comic book is worth significantly less than a graded comic book. That's because you don't know if a raw comic has had restoration work done to it, or if there's a flaw in the pages you can't see, or if there's been some colour touch, etc. But this guy? Apparently the rules don't apply to him. He'll have an X-Men 1 in there that he thinks is a 4.0....and you know what, maybe it is, but maybe it's not. Further, maybe there's colour touch inside that, when you send the thing in to be graded, will net the comic a purple label instead of a blue one, meaning it's almost worthless. You don't know, and he won't let you actually go through the comics to even look for yourself. What's worse is, he prices the comic as though it's a GRADED 4.0 when it's not. His prices on back issues are completely out of whack, and he doesn't wiggle at all on this. On the contrary, if you dare suggest that he bring his price on an issue more in line with its actual raw value and suggest a more reasonable counter-price, he simply puts the comic back in his little glass case and walks away like a petulant child who's just been told he's not the most powerful master of The Force in the universe, so he's going to take his training ball and go home. This jackass actually expects you to pay full graded price for a comic book that might very well come back with the taint of "restored" on its label and a value of roughly 10% what you paid for it. Yeah, lemme just hand over my 4 grand now and roll the dice, eh? So. There's that. Beyond that, he and his wife just spend all day scouring eBay trying to snipe books on the cheap for resale. He admits as much. He doesn't have any sort of distribution pipeline to acquire comics. He isn't an active local collection buyer. Again, nothing wrong with that....but if you want a certain issue, why don't you just set up your own alerts on eBay and find them at that point rather than paying this guy obscene vig to do it for you? It's just as easy to remove him from the equation, frankly. I'll not bother trekking over to his store again. His prices are too high, his customer service skills are too low, you're rolling the dice with what you're purchasing, and most of his shit is low grade, anyways - and the collectibles market is all about condition. Nobody wants a 4.5 1st appearance of Hobgoblin - they want a 9.6. I'd Force Choke them and be done with it, but I don't want the taint of lawyer on me. 2nd point for the large selection of toys and video games, though that's of no interest to me. 2 Deathstars. read more

My fiance and I decided to drive all the way up here from Shoreline. We usually go to Bobakhan in Everett. Well, this place has some really good stuff for a great price. Mostly Star Wars stuff and video games/consoles. I was excited to see what Masters of the Universe stuff they had, and was disappointed it was hardly anything. Although I liked most of the things, as well as the prices, I was pretty turned off by the lack of customer service. No one said a word to us when we walked in, or the whole time we were there. I was also looking in one of their glass display counters and the owner and some other employee just picked up the counter and moved it to the other side of the room! They could have said, "we are going to move this counter really quick," or something. Instead they just took it away while I was looking at the stuff inside. I won't be coming back here, mainly for the lack of customer service, but also because Bobakhan Toys is way better. :) read more

Super great selection of vintage toys and video games. However, the employees (owners, I think!), were very unfriendly. They answer all questions with a yes or no, and any attempts at conversation were unfruitful. Apparently they do a lot of business online, which perhaps explains the lack of customer service skills. read more

I got my hands on a couple of NTSC-J Games and I was already down in the area so I stopped in to get a appraisal or even an offer. The dude was a dick....he scoffed at me when I asked him and then decided it would be okay to ignore me the rest of the time, not even a "Hey I'll be right over here if you need anything or have any questions." Finally they are at the extreme high end of retail when it comes to their video gaming items. I have never seen prices so high at a store front...I was ready to drop some mad cash but as soon as saw their ridiculous prices I was turned off. Also asked him how much he would give for an Atari 2600 in original box in good shape. He then avoided the question like the plague...I honestly think he is highly under qualified to work in that store. This store is deplorable and the people that work there are despicable. DO NOT SHOP HERE, You can get the same prices on EBay and have them delivered right to your house. After a year of waiting to go to this store (and anticipating how great it was going to be) I finally made the trip to Bellevue to this store. What a horrible mistake. The only slightly redeeming quality was that there was a fair bit of selection (although prices were ridiculous) but my generosity ends there. The guy who owns the place made sure to ruin the whole experience with his extreme douche-baggery and seal his fate of being on the receiving end of my scathing review. I walked in with a $450 budget to spend on robot toys (as discussed and agreed upon with my amazing wife on the trip) and SO wanted to make that happen as this was surely a one-time offer by my beloved spouse. But MAN! This owner was so rude, so lazy, and so condescending that he will NEVER get a single penny of mine. I will also go to great lengths to get the word out to my extensive nerd community to boycott the shit out of this place. Amazing Heroes I can only hope that the constant bad reviews you receive of your wretched customer service and lack of human decency kill your eBay business and that you are forced to close down. read more
