I've been to their location in Edmonds but my boyfriend and I were in the Lynnwood area and wanted to check out this store. We came by on a Saturday night and there were a few people inside. However the store is very spacious so we never had to worry about bumping into others which is nice. The store is organized very well and clean, not just cluttered or throw everywhere. They have so much to look at besides just games too. They had plushies, blind boxes, vinyl soundtracks, and more. The back of the store had plenty of pinball machines, basketball machine, and other fun arcade games too. The prices are generally good as they do have a lot of older games. The employees were busy helping customers and ensuring all questions or concerns were addressed. They were very professional and patient. read more

A great independent pre-owned game store, with happy staff, and folks that will show you the appraisal before you accept. Look, you are NOT going to get eBay money selling your stuff to a reseller, no matter where you go. They want to make money off your stuff, it's a business. I traded in all my stuff and got a decent offer. Could I have hustled on eBay, ran listings, then go to the post office to send stuff off, and made more money, Yes. Did I want to do that? NO. So don't expect that. okay rant over. Overall, the selection was pretty good, I did manage to get a decent trade in value and got myself a new modern console, so that was a win. I also got great customer service, they treated me nicely, and I didn't feel that bad, given what I got. Again, you can go to eBay and list things, and make more money. You don't want to list on eBay, marketplace, and just want to offload? Come here, look around, and maybe you get in-store credit instead of cash, hint... of course they are going to offer you more for in-store credit, and find something you like. read more

Buyer beware. Unclear return policy. They do not properly test older consoles. Seem to knowingly sell broken pieces with fraudulently manipulated serial numbers and similar. Will not refund doa hardware within 48 hours. Will tell you to email the owner but that the owner will refuse to refund so you shouldn't bother. Awful customer service. They're also $10-20 over actual value of most things. Do not buy any hardware you do not expect to fully recap and repair as, again, they do not adequately test anything. Make them plug in and boot any cartridge games on actual hardware and verify functionality before paying. Edit: No Matt your staff refused me a refund after selling me a super famicom with missing security screws that stopped powering on within 24 hours. You also two weeks ago sold an overpriced top loader that had a completely non functional rf cable that you clearly never tested because it had so much interference you couldn't see how bad the video was and that the console needed recapping. You also sold me a Tetris cart with it that will not boot on anything. That's 3 dead devices out of 4 purchased in 2 weeks. (The Mario cart worked.) You did swap the Tetris cart. The super famicom wouldn't read more than 70% of the games tried on it, including the one you required I purchased that the staff could not get to read in store but would not sell the console without. There was a huge strip of cotton in the pin reader from where you cleaned it with the wrong tools. After sucking out the cotton it still would not read about 20-30% of carts before it stopped powering on. Your staff literally saw it failing to read carts and said it was a bad cart I had to buy with the system. Upon further physical inspection the top and bottom half of the shell are most likely cobbled together from different units which means you knew you were selling broken trash. You clearly are not appropriately testing anything. Your staff said I "could try" sending you, personally, an email at that address but that "I've been working here for years and have basically never seen them do a refund." So no I didn't reach out to you because I don't like wasting my time. There are so many actually good used/retro game stores near Seattle that have great customer service and clearly articulated return policies while actually testing and/or repairing the items they resell. Don't waste your time or money at this place. Edit the second: Shockingly no response to the email requested be sent in 2 weeks. Do not patronize. read more

This store has a huge selection of games and accessories for older systems. I picked up a Wii U Zelda edition at a great price and it works perfectly. The service is great as well. Also, this location has a few pinball machines that you have to play. Will be back. read more

Updated Review - Still 3 Stars I decided to give this store another shot, but unfortunately, my experience wasn't much better this time around. While browsing their games, I noticed that the bottom rows are so low to the ground that you need to back up or crouch down to see. I tried backing up to get a better look and ended up tripping over the shelves behind me. The employee just chuckled and shook his head, which makes me think this probably happens a lot. I'd really suggest spacing the shelves out a bit more to prevent trip hazards in the future. I was also interested in a Dark Souls Trilogy box set, which was priced at $50 or $55 (can't remember which). Since I've learned to double-check eBay when shopping here, I looked it up and found the exact same thing for $35 free shipping, so I just bought it online instead. Their selection is great, but the pricing really needs more frequent updates. I'd be way more inclined to spend a lot more here like I do at other game stores if I didn't constantly feel like I could get a better deal elsewhere. I decided to test my luck on my second visit and bought a new game, hoping to get a sealed copy since the owner mentioned they prioritize selling those first when they have extras. Unfortunately, that didn't happen--I still got an unwrapped copy. I get that theft is a concern, but when a game is sold as "new," I feel like customers would expect it to be factory-sealed. Surely there is a way to manage this issue to generate more sales? Printed inserts like other retailers will do and keep the rarer ones that you'll likely not get a lot of in the glass cases to keep costs down? Again, the store has a great selection, but this practice makes it hard to justify paying full price for a game that doesn't truly feel new. read more

I started coming to Another Castle because I got tired of the way Game Stop would treat me when I went in there. At first Another Castle was great. They would greet you when you came in and were very helpful. They had a good selection of games and accessories, and if they didn't have there, they would check other locations. However the last couple times I've been here no one greeted me at all or asked if I needed help. One guy didn't even look up from what he was doing. The customer service has gone way down hill. There is no reason for me to ever come back here again. In a time where you can download games and get accessories online, it seems customer service should be your number one priority and it just isn't. This place sucks now. read more

Do NOT trade in your games/consoles here!!! This store is run by purebred scalpers. Unless you don't care about selling your things for what they are actually worth do not come here. They will offer you literal pennies on the dollar of what your goods are actually worth and then price hike your items, some by 300% others by 1000% I am not exaggerating its almost criminal. I GENUINELY feel bad for anyone who traded in their things and thought they got a good deal on their collectibles. Don't even get me started on the customer service here.. Every time Ive purchased something here and said thank you I never once got a "youre welcome" "thanks for coming" "have a good day" none of that.. couldn't be bothered.. Almost felt like I ruined their day by simply existing... He goes above and beyond to help everyone in the store that comes in. He makes great suggestion and helps makes sure each and every person gets the best service they can. Excellent selection! As someone who stills has her gameboy advanced and N64 I love that I can expect a rotating selection of used but still functional games. They have controllers in stock so I can always keep my beloved N64 up and running. I do also find great value in finding accessories and games for my Switch and 2DS as well. The main highlight though is the arcade! I love that they have some cabinets to tool around on and pinball tables. Staff is always helpful and prices are reasonable. If you are looking to find something unique or hard to find Another Castle stores are a great first stop. read more

I've gone here several times over the years and only twice have I dealt with unpleasant staff, and when I went back those staff were gone. I first want to say that Lily and another gentlemen that was working there were very helpful and patient with me. When I told her about the issue I encountered she was super apologetic and was willing to help me. I called in looking for a wii and she was able to hold it for me. I came in and was expecting to pay $70 that she quoted me on the phone (I may have misheard her so I do not blame her for that). It ended up being $105 since there was games included. I already had the games I needed and asked if I could just get the wii and still pay the price. I asked first if you can just buy the wii and not the games but they said there was no way to change out the games or to buy with just the Wii itself, I even asked if I could just give them away to one of their customers. They said no but I didn't want to make it a big deal and I couldn't find a wii for a while so I just took it. I took it to my local GameStop since I didn't want the games and when they opened it up there were NO games. There were a total of 4 games. I called in and Lily was so great trying to figure out what they can do. I asked again if there was anyway to get it adjusted or just get a refund for the games and she said there was no way. She offered for me to come back but I live so far away and felt it wasn't worth it for games I didn't even want. It was so disappointing that there weren't there especially since I paid for them. It is no big deal since I really didn't want the games but I think I will not be coming back in fear that I may not get the product(s) I was paying for. Wii is working great and super happy about that but disappointed about this outcome. When coming there just double check to make sure the product (mostly games) you are paying for is actually there. read more

We came for the arcade later on a sunday night & loved it. Had all the old retro games we love playing plus a few I hadn't played yet. Good price, most games were 50 cents.. some were 25 (my faves were conveniently 25 cents a play ) Wasn't packed on a sunday night, had 3 rooms full of game cabinets & pinball machines. The employees were relaxed, didn't bug you & kept the machines nice & clean.. It says something when you can actually notice that in a dimly lit arcade. lol Mario Kart is a money hog, just so you know in advance.. It eats more credits even if you get 1st place. But still fun. I pretty consistently lost my balls in all the pinball machines right away.. Straight down the middle.. I'm sure this is more lousy luck and the fact I suck at pinball more so then the actual machines fault. Galaga needed some attention, I think, it glitched out on us & we forgot to mention to the employee before we left. Will def come back read more

Hooray for retro video games! If you live in Snohomish County, then Another Castle is a worthy alternative to Pink Gorilla for your old gaming needs. Because unlike GameStop and other retail stores, this place carries games from earlier than the last ten years. The store is located not far from Alderwood Mall, and their selection is great. I bought three Game Boy Advance games here: Super Mario Bros. 3 ($19.50), Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury ($11.50), and MegaMan Battle Network 2 ($19.50). The prices are just barely on the high side, but they did allow me to create an account for them that would take ten percent off used games to even it out. I just didn't like how they required me to give my first name, last name, and phone number. The Lynnwood store also isn't connected to the Edmonds store for some reason, so you'd have to do the same thing again if you're buying from the other store. The Lynnwood store ultimately isn't as appealing as the one in Edmonds because the one in Edmonds has a full arcade and is actually a great hangout place. The Lynnwood store opens earlier and closes earlier; the Edmonds store is for people who have no curfews. If you're just looking to buy games, the two stores are about the same and should both serve you well. read more

This place is pretty much my husband's dream. He is a pretty big old school gamer and this place has all of that. They have some games in here to play, most are $.50. I quickly learned that I am no pinball wizard, but I am in when it comes to pacman. Prices are pretty reasonable and they have a huge selection of old games. The guy that was working was really nice and didn't bug us at all. When a game ate my sister in laws quarter, he came over and just gave her a new credit on the machine. Pretty nice. They have a nice selection of games, ranging from current gen all the way back to Atari 2600. Lots of stuff you don't often find at gaming stores; stuff you might actually want to buy rather than a thousand copies of old sports titles. But their prices are pretty high. Hate to say it, but you're definitely going to get better prices online for most of the games they have. They have a few arcade games in the back including a SFII Champion Edition. This place is pretty sweet. They have a huge selection of new and Retro games, systems and accessories. They also have plush and Amiibos too. There's arcade games set up in the back as well as a gaming system with comfy chairs towards the front-center of the shop. The customer service was awesome. The staff knew what they had in stock and were more than happy to help you find whatever it is you're looking for. Yeah the prices are a tad high, but you must keep in mind this is a physical location. So they have to charge a bit more for overhead and rent. I prefer to pay a little more for products I can touch and see for myself they aren't damaged, rather than just hope getting online. Plus, I will always choose to support my local businesses. Especially ones like this, there aren't many small awesome game shops left these days. In all, it's clean and organized. The staff is awesome. And the selection is great! Alex wrote down the address for me as I had never been to that location before and was friendly and helpful. A couple of days later I was back in again and he recognized me and checked up with me on in. Can't say enough about the customer service at both locations.
