If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is a complete dumpster fire, and the sales associate I dealt with was the grungiest, most unprofessional jerk I've ever encountered. My daughter, who saved her allowance for three, (3) years to buy an Xbox; bought an Xbox that didn't have the disk drive on accident, we were told by another store that we could exchange for the correct unit in Plaistow. When I tried to return the item--a perfectly reasonable request--and this guy shut me down with some nonsense about a lousy sticker and "fine print" that doesn't even exist. I asked to see the policy, and he just smirked and said, "It's there, trust me." Yeah, right. Then, when I asked for the district manager's number or email to escalate this circus, he flat-out refused. Refused! Like it's some top-secret info. But the cherry on top? This greasy dude then tried to bait me into fighting him--IN THE STORE. Who does that? I'm not here to brawl, I just wanted an exchange! My daughter is beside herself. Avoid this place like the plague unless you enjoy dealing with rude, dirty clowns who'd rather flex than do their job. Zero stars. read more

Had a wonderful experience and the two staff were quite helpful and nice, even if they didn't have what I was looking for at one of my visits they were nice enough to help me look. I will definitely be going again, although I'm sad they currently aren't taking ps vita trade ins or exchanges. I have a brand new pjs vita I have used all of one time because my WiFi isn't strong enough to use my ps4 and the vita at the same time. So it's basically never been used since I got it. I just have it sitting in the box it came in. Was hoping to trade it in since I can't use it even though I want to use it. read more

Whats up with the utlra tight pants here? jeez! Anyway, they are really helpful here. I don't play games, but I actually don't mind going to this one cause they love to shoot the poo with us. The manager is actually a really funny guy! We have bought and sold here.. never had a issue, and they hook regulars up with codes and stuff like that. The store smells like a sharpie marker though. This is our "GO TO" place for games and help. The staff are all very helpful and if they can not answer a qestion at the moment they will do their best to find out for the next time you come in. They are also honest... I am picky about games for my son and they have never tried to sell us something that I would end up not letting my son play. I have gone to several other GameStops and the service is not even close to this one. Keep up the good work guys. :) read more

I'm not sure if this is the case at all GameStop's, but here's what happened to me at this one. I bought a used Wii as a gift from here a few weeks ago. When I got home I took it out of the box to make sure it was in good condition etc and I was surprised as to what I found - everything was FILTHY. I had to use several clorox wipes to clean all the dirt off the controller and the actual Wii console. The wrist strap on the controller was nearly brown, so I took it off and threw it away, causing me to have to buy a NEW controller. (I might as well of just bought a new package.... if I had time I would've.) Why wouldn't GameStop clean their used products? I find it disgusting that they would sell a product in that condition, thank god I checked prior to giving it as a gift, how embarrassing would that have been. "Hey Happy Birthday - here's a filthy Wii". I will not buy anything from here again, especially if it's used. beware. read more

This Gamestop location is friendly and they are willing to help you in anyway. If you need a game they will most likely have the game your looking for in stock. The only thing I didn't like is that when I bought NBA 2k14 a few weeks back the cashier almost sold me the used one and I rather have a brand new version luckily I was paying attention. Overall the store is great and will keep coming back in the future for more game releases. read more

They sold us a used PS2 and a few games, none of which worked. We live nearby so when they didn't work, we went right back and they exchanged them. Got everything home and they STILL didn't work. Went back again and they told us they don't test used games or consoles, they just do exchanges if they dont work. Basically, buying a used game from them is a crapshoot and if it doesn't work the first time, you're out time, money and gas every time you need to try it again. read more

This review is based off game stop in general. I purchased a new game from here and two hours later went to return it and they would only give me a refund at the used trade in cost. The manager felt bad and even remembered me but there wasn't much he could do. My question is why would I purchase a game brand new knowing that if I don't like it I can't return it at the price I paid for it hours before? I can say that if I ever purchase a new game it will be at Walmart for the lower price and the fact that I can return it within 30 days after my purchase. Also they inflate their prices and then offer a discount for their paid membership to still not be able to match competitors like Walmart. When trading in a used console or game they absolutely and legally rob you. Two years ago I exchanged my PS3 for $32.50 when they had used ones on the shelf for $165... profit much? I guess if you have a lot of games that are not worth selling on eBay or you want to purchase used games this would be the place to go. However, I would go here while you can because their prehistoric scam will only work for so much longer seeing that most consoles will likely be discless in the near future. read more
