I usually frequent this game stop location if I need something. The traffic on Monument can be pretty bad when trying to enter this complex or exit. This shopping complex has Kohls, Marshalls, Starbucks and Dicks and many other shops. Although traffic felt somewhat busy entering/exiting, I'm usually able to find parking very closeby. In the past when I went, the staff was always able to help me immediately. It wasn't that busy inside either. I walked by this location today and noticed it is gone. So I'm guessing this location is gone. I think the closest one might be at the mall now. I'm a little sad this location is closed too since it was my preferred gamestop location in Concord. read more

Here you know it, arrived at the GameStop here in Pleasant Hill at 11:10 AM (store supposedly opens at 11), only to find the door locked and a line of customers waiting outside. One clearly frustrated employee was selectively letting in customers, - those interested in Pokémon release, same as for other purchases. When I knocked, she rudely told me to go to another store since I wasn't there for Pokémon and not willing to wait in line. Completely unprofessional, dismissive, and honestly baffling behavior. Never go to this gamestop during this hours. The sales lady was rushing and she was very rude. I came at 6:40pm and she came out the door and rushed locking it saying "I had to take my lunch" i asked her if I can just buy what i want which probably wouldnt take 5 minutes of her time cause I know what i wanted already and she still said no and left rushing. These type of employee's is the reason why business gets bad review. She'd rather disregard a customer for her own satisfaction. Against my better judgment I submitted 10 cards to be PSA graded. After a month of no communication-I called in. Despite me telling them my current email-they used a 10 year old email I no longer have access to (also used this email to upgrade my account to pro). Asked a very specific question about an accessory...the two workers behind the counter assured me "yes, this will do what you ask" got home to find out it did not. Took it back and was told "sorry we can't take this back because you opened it". So basically they are ok with stealing people's money and not helping to resolve the issue. Is one supposed to use X-ray vision to see inside the box? Am I supposed to magically know something is what I was told it was without opening the box? This was an unused item...still wrapped up in its internal packaging. I was ready to drop $200 on some games I was looking at but now I will spend my money elsewhere and tell all to AVOID GAMESTOP. Not sure how to describe my experience. Walked in the door to what looked like two employees working. One employee was busy assisting customers behind the counter and even having to bust out a ladder at one point to get something off the wall. The other employee was doing nothing while people were waiting. Perhaps this person was not an employee and maybe a vendor. But if they were an employee I find it unacceptable that they wouldn't start helping customers when there's a line forming and the other employee is literally busting their ass climbing ladders. Either way the optics of it weren't great. Next issue I had was once it was my turn, I had to go through a gauntlet of questions of upgrades, insurance, and etc. It was exhaustive and annoying. I'm just trying to pick up my game and leave, I don't like the hustle. I get it, GameStop has to do what it's gotta do to make a profit but jeez Louise it's frustrating when you're just trying to pick your stuff up and be on your way. Visited the store on February 19,2025 with my 11 year old grandson. It was his birthday and shopping at GameStop was on his birthday wish list. It was a disaster. Worst. Service. Ever. Purchased a Nintendo switch with warranty from this location. Months later the console had issues, so I brought it in to be replaced. The staff there were completely unknowledgeable - I spent two hours at the store while they attempted to set up two different switch consoles unsuccessfully. Furthermore they wiped my old system without reformatting my SD card or even mentioning what they were doing. Staff is what you expect from GameStop, so it goes without saying they're friendly, personable, and full of knowledge whether it be information you need or not. lol One of my favorite things about GS these days is that they aint pushing me about pre orders or memberships. I just had the strangest interaction at this GameStop. Long story short, I ordered a game on their website for in-store pick up, and when I went to go pick it up, the employee was so extremely rude. She had no customer service skills at all whatsoever and treated me with a bad attitude and a weird interaction. I was trying to explain to her that the name on the order might be different than the name on my ID because my full government name is not on the order. And she was extremely disrespectful and rude as I was trying to explain it to her. She literally acted like I reached over the cash register and slapped her in the face or something. She acted like she didn't want to hear what I was saying, and she interrupted me every single time I opened my mouth. Then as she finally went over to get the game, she whispered something under her breath at me. I couldn't quite make out what it was. Very bizarre though. As she handed me the game, she literally just put it on the counter. No thank you for shopping at GameStop or thank you for your order or anything. I picked up my game, walked out of the door, and, as I was leaving in a very rude and sarcastic manner, she shouted "Ok, have a great day!". For Christmas 2014 we welcomed home our brand new baby PS4. She joined her siblings in our living room: the Atari, NES, SNES, Xbox Kinect, and a couple less popular little ones. She fit right in! We started with two games, but grew weary of GTA, and beat The Last of Us in just over a week. Time for a new game! My husband wanted Far Cry 4, so we first checked Phoenix games, wanting to support a local shop, but they didn't have it. We entered GameStop and they told us they had a used copy for $55. The employee searched the disorganized store but was never able to locate the used copy, so we bought it new for $60. Not much of a price difference anyhow. My husband commented that their store was very unorganized but the employee just commented that it was the holiday time. All the more reason you'd want to keep it put together, you'd think - lots of shoppers right now... oh well. Got the game - and it's awesome!!! read more

Rudest customer (no) service. At around 3:30pm on August 19th, 2022 I came to this GameStop looking for PlayStation 3 games to play. When I opened the door immediately a heavy-set black-haired white/hispanic female with an oversized t-shirt gets upset that I walked in and asked me if I was okay instead of offering me service and I asked her why she was asking that and she said because I opened her door too hard. I opened the door with one arm while holding my 2-year-old infant daughter in the other. She may have been startled because she was working alone and I entered suddenly but it was 102° outside and I was excited to go looking for games at Gamestop today after going to Rasputin Records and the closed down GameStop. I have been running around everywhere looking for some PlayStation 3 games and I came here to look for them with high hopes and this girl was very rude to me asking if I was okay and then bitterly asking if there was something that I wanted and I said yes I would like to see your PS3 games and she scoffed at me and said we don't have any of those here and I said are you sure none and she said yes I'm sure and referred me to another business entirely on Clayton Road. This woman was rude to me because I opened her door and then didn't give me a chance to browse and also didn't search for any of the games that I had in mind to purchase not for any other locations or their stock she just straight up denied me service and so when I left I told her that I would not be touching her door again. I have never been to a GameStop where I felt so unwelcome and unable to browse and with someone who made zero effort to even look for me. She didn't even try she just gave me your GameStop customer to another business. I really hope that someone from corporate sees this because I have a suspicion that this is why your locations are shutting down. People prefer to go to other businesses that have customer service or even to order online rather than interact with the rude cashier who had zero customers. I wasn't even comfortable enough to browse because this woman was so unwelcoming to me and unwilling to even check stock answer any of my questions or explain to me why they no longer have PlayStation 3 games if that was even the truth. This woman should lose her job. I am a 25-year- old mother who walked in with a two year old infant like I said and she wanted me out because I opened her door and it startled her because there was no one in there and then didn't want to help me at all and even told me to go to a different business. I went here really early in the morning for the Xbox series x launch back on 9/22. Although they informed us they only had 5 in-store units, their store manager Russell worked with us and tried getting the rest of us some units online at their store. Despite the initial difficulties in accessing them online, he was ultimately successful in getting me a unit. He maintained a very friendly yet professional demeanor while dealing with customers who were desperately trying to get one. It's hard to find professional people nowadays but Russell and his staff deserve much credit in doing their best to accommodate their customers. I'll definitely come back again. read more

Well. One of the worst Gamestops I've been in - cluttered and loud, full of cheap trinkets and gewgaws. The lazy employees here really take the cake, even for Gamestop. Today was the best - I asked a specific question about Gamestop-exclusive DLC after explaining that Amazon messed up an order. The employee responded "I have no idea, man. Are you a member? Do you want to become one? Do you want to add protection to this? Do you want to preorder anything else? Here's my name and please take the survey to let me know how we did." If you can't answer one question and then spend the next two minutes drolly repeating the SOP guidelines, and then have the nerve to ask for feedback, you are going to get BAD FEEDBACK. He didn't even speak to me other than the script they're made to read. I stood silently waiting for my credit card to process while their in-house promotions shouted at me about something I couldn't care less about. I don't play video games anymore but I went in to buy a graduation gift card for my friends son. Simple right? I tell the guy I want to buy a gift card. He asked me, "For what?" Hmmmmm..ok Anyway, I tell him the amount and attempt to use my visa credit card to pay. I insert it and it pauses and then reads to slide my chip card?? So the employee has me try again and the card reader says the same. So he restarts the machine. It takes forever and we switch registers. This time the card reader wont read my card and it just freezes up. I'm done so I just go to Starbucks to buy a gift card instead a couple doors down. I try to use my same credit card and now it cant be read by Starbucks card reader! Now it's the next day and my card won't read anywhere. Thanks Gamestop for whatever your machine did to my card.
