Came to this location since the one by Target closed. Absolute WORST. Tried to trade in a PS-4, 2 controllers and a handful of games. First said they could only take one controller (the other one is a Sony branded controller) and then wouldn't honor anything close to what the online trade in value estimated. With the response of "online values are wrong" THEN WHY BOTHER? Sun valley mall location ended up being a MUCH better experience. read more

Be aware this location will just be "closed for lunch at any time. On Sunday they were closed for lunch for an hour and a half of the 6 hours they're open. Just stopped by next day. I'm reviewing it to say that I've had to make many phone calls to this location to inquire about different games and the people on the phone are very patient helpful as I do not know much about what I was asking about. I even just recently preordered a game as a gift for my boyfriend to pick up at a midnight release kinda thing and the young man at the register was very kind helping me pick out everything he needed. The staff in this store has always been great to me, and sometimes I've even seen them be helpful to a fault. They really take the time to answer questions and help adults figure out just what it is they are purchasing for little Timmy. Sometimes it makes the line back up, but I don't mind if it's for a good cause. Gamestop in general is a decent business. I'm not a fan of paying full price for new games and Gamestop allows me to purchase used games that don't break my wallet. I know... I know... they are only selling the illusion of good deals, but it helps dull the pain of taking in games you spent close to $300 on and only getting enough back to purchase one new game. Also, sometimes the quality of the used disk sucks, but this is avoidable. Every time I have been in to purchase a used game, I go over the disk and ask to see the other use copies they have. I always pick the one that is nearest to scratch free. (And on a side note... what the hell is wrong with you gamers out there who don't take care of your disks??? The gaming community likes to categorize itself in a special class of people, but you don't have the common decency to take care of your beloved games! Then to take them in and pass them off as usable when you know they aren't... disgraceful!!! I have NEVER scratched a DVD/CD/Blu-ray in my life! I baby the hell out of these things. Wow, nobody's reviewed GameStop in Pleasant Hill yet, huh? Well, what can I say? It's a small store but it's packed full of games for your Wii, XBox 360, or Playstation 3. I've actually bought several games here on 2 different occasions and the clerks were always nice and helpful. While I don't play video games nearly as much as I wish I could, mostly due to the screaming toddler at home, I still like to buy new games every once in a while, and this is a great store to do just that. read more

I only go here for my son--I'm not a gamer so excuse me if I don't sound too excited about this place, lol. However, I suppose it has everything a gamer should need and a good selection of games. The guy that assisted us last time was pretty helpful with finding my son a game. One of the games we got was defective and wouldn't work which was annoying because I had to drive back, but they exchanged it no problem. Normally I have a good experience here but on Xmas day we open up 2 used Wii games from this location and BOTH produce defective disc errors in our Wii. Kids were super bummed that they couldn't play their gifts. I'm sorry but Gstop used game quality contol stinks. They clearly did not test either of these discs before putting back out for resale. Ill not be buying any more of their used games without making them put the disc into their store console and testing them first while I'm present. read more

I've been to plenty of Gamestop and know the usual type of employees that work there, and even by that standard this the worst. We called to get their hours and the manager was really dismissive and kurt. I mean, I get it, it sucks when you have a huge line and someone calls (the store was empty when we got their a few minutes later but giving them the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't when we called), but we weren't asking him to go dig through the back for Battle Toads, we just wanted to know when they closed. When we actually got there, I asked for their return policy on the controller I was buying and the employee (who did his best to be helpful, and seemed cool), asked the manager, who yelled at him for not looking it up in the binder. Idk what's going on in this dude's life that he's gotta treat his employees that but it was really awkward and we would have just left right then to prove a point had the next nearest gamestop not been out of what we needed. The employee asked the manager the price because we clearly were in a hurry and it would have been way quicker than to look it up in a binder, but instead of just telling him he had to waste everyone's time by making a point of yelling at him, then having him look it up. I would have just thought he didn't know if he didn't say it right before the employee tracked the number down. I'll never go back to this location again if I can avoid it. I did it, I finally did it! I bought a Wii. I got one of the systems that was used (which works wonderfully!) and it was the best thing I have ever bought at this store. The woman that worked there was very helpful in making sure I had all the equipment necessary for our family to actively use the thing. We also bought a Fit Board which is my favorite thing ever! I am finally able to exercise in my house on a regular basis at my own convenience and it is just FUN. Plus my 6 year old has a blast with me! It is a bonus to watch my man do the hula hoop to beat my score. I recommend the more active systems they have here and the staff will ensure you get what you need to have a truly fun experience. Never had a problem with this location, granted I've only been going here since last Black Friday. Once I signed up for the Power Up Rewards card, I became a more frequent customer. The employees I've come across have been nice. One employee named Edwin has helped me the most, and he's always been able to answer any questions I may have on a game. Man, I am a long time gamer from the mid 80's. I've been around and watched numerous establishments come and go. I remember electronics boutique downtown WC, 3DO, and everything before and since. I have given this place a fair shake coming here for various needs and I must say, if you want customer service STAY CLEAR. There is only one employee that seems to actually give a crap whether you leave happy or not. I'm sorry but your name alludes me, but I believe you have allergies of some kind because you seem stuffed up when I'm there. There is basically a superiority complex among 99% of the employees. Get a clue, you are the bottom of the totem pole guys, and by the way you treat people you will stay there. You think because you possess the inside knowledge of the gaming world that you are special, think again. Look, when I go to an establishment such as a game store I at least expect a lack of attitude, that's it, and this place fails epically. No idea why there is so many negative customer service reviews. An employee always greets me when I come in the store, and tell me honest opinions on stuff I ask about and generally are helpful asking me if I need assistance when I am browsing. I'm not sure what manager everyone is talking about, but I had a great experience when I dealt with the manager. He even broke the company's policy to get me a working PS3 when mine broke down after the return window had expired. Everyone knows their trade-ins give you poor value. You could try dealing with Phoenix Games, but they dont give you much more for current games. read more

When I came in there was one extremely slow lady running the place and after waiting in a long line for about 20 minutes I asked about being notified when PS4 orders opened up again. She told me that it was not possible to be notified when this happened.
