In the last five years I have watched nearly every GameStop in my area close. By 2025 only three locations were left and it genuinely saddens me to see this Saratoga store close its doors. It was easily one of the better GameStop locations in Silicon Valley. As an action figure collector this store consistently stood out. While the selection was not massive there was always variety and more often than not I would find something I was actually looking for. Sometimes the hardest to find figure was just sitting there on the peg waiting for me. I cannot say the same for the other nearby locations. Fun fact I live right across from the GameStop at Great Mall. The staff there is friendly and they almost never have anything in stock. I might get lucky two or three times a year. Because of that I would gladly make the drive to Saratoga instead. The staff here was always friendly and the store had that slightly overstocked feel that collectors appreciate. It may not have had the latest and greatest every time but there was always something worth browsing. Value wise, with the price of everything going up in figures especially I don't see this trend ending of closures That is why it pains me to see this location close its doors. read more

We came to this Game Stop while shopping at Westgate Mall. It was packed because it was after Christmas. They were short staffed and the line was really long but the workers and the owner were still very positive and doing the best they could. This GameStop is a small store but my daughter did find something that she really wanted. She is into Fallout (yeah I know it's not a kid's game), and she found a Fallout lunch box. We hadn't seen anything like it before. They also had a lot of POP figures and we were looking for a Fallout POP but couldn't find one. We ask the worker and he said that there were none. My daughter was happy with the lunch box. I hope that this GameStop stays in business. The workers work really hard and it's really hard for businesses like this to stay because of all the online competition. read more

The entire staff that I was always so happy to deal with was fired from this store after the Switch 2 launch. To see how hard they worked to serve all of the customers only to see them fired after the money was made and the work was done is disgusting. The store is not the same . Why is it such a hard task to hire a good work force who's able and willing to do their simple job of selling video games behind a counter? I truly don't understand. I've been to this location a few times since it's one of the only ones in the area, and more than a few times I've either left because I couldn't get proper help, or told to leave because there's no workers to cover a bathroom break. The manager Ross was organized, friendly, and made sure the line moved efficiently without any confusion or frustration. He took his time to greet everyone and assure everyone that he was going to distribute all of the Pokémon drop evenly and made sure everyone got something that waited I line. The manager (Ross, who mind you, was by himself for over 250+ customers in line) kept everyone informed and calm, which made a big difference. Props to the team for handling a high-demand release like pros. Walked out with exactly what I came for, and honestly, it made my day. Every time I've come to this store I've had a horrible experience. From them being out of promotional items to just overall unhelpful attitudes. I preordered a game recently and it didn't come until 5 days after the game released so I bought it digitally instead. When I brought the physical game back to the store they told me I was a day outside of the return window and even though it was still fully sealed they couldn't do anything about it. It's actually so put me off GameStop completely that this is probably going to be my last time ever tying to buy anything from them. The manager at this location is the only manager out of all the locations in the local area of the South Bay Area that actually limits the amount per person and regulates the drops to where there's no issues or confrontation. If you have kids I'd suggest this location to go too if your looking to score items for your kids and even working with a store you can rely on their word! I accidentally logged into the wrong email when I wrote my previous review so this review may sound familiar but it is different. This is my local GameStop that I've been going to since highschool so I'm very fond of it. I used to buy games here as a teen but became an avid pokemon collector as an adult to appease my inner child and I was going in to buy pokemon cards every week after I started collecting again because they have a decent stock when other places dont *cough* Target in the same shopping center. I also get pokemon promo cards here because they usually have them. I don't really talk to people when I shop but Ross that works here was very nice and asked if I ever thought about signing up for GameStop Pro, he told me I get $5 a month which is pretty much a free pokemon pack a month. I found out it pays for itself so he helped me sign up and also made it so it doesn't auto renew but notifies me before each time which I really appreciate. He is really helpful and always happy to answer questions, he likes to keep busy but will stop what he's doing to help me or anyone that walks in with a question. I get kinda sad when Ross isn't in ngl. Anyway, out of all the GameStops in the area I totally recommend this one if you want a decent pokemon selection and good service. I usually go in around the afternoon which I find getting parking is easy and the store isn't too full. read more

Went for the prismatic Pokemon drop this morning. Showed up around 7 AM, there was already a good 30 people in line. Once the store opened the line was moving at a decent pace. They seemed to be short staffed, there was one kid working there by themselves the whole time, she seemed a little frazzled and was walking with a limp but worked pretty efficiently. Didn't catch her name, she had a ponytail and was wearing baggy shorts, very friendly, well versed in explaining the allocation and able to hook me up with a Prismatic bundle and a box of 151. Good experience but seems like it could run smoother in the future with better staffing. read more

I'm a former gamer, now dad. It's a shame this store has such terrible people working at it. I used to shop at it back in my college days and it was great back then. Avoid at all costs. ------- Very poor experience at this store. Staff consistently acted like they hate their jobs and loathe customer service. Made me wonder why would they even stay employees. I walked in twice to ask if I can submit 3 cards for PSA grading and was turned away because they were busy. I was literally the only customer in the store. This was my first time ever submitting cards for PSA grading so I had no idea what the process was through GameStop so I was understanding both times. The two employees a man with a UK or Australian accent and a young lady with short hair and glasses acted like they hated each other. While I was paying for some items with the lady, the phone rang and rang. The UK man was off to the side straightening up items on the shelf. He looks over all annoyed and comes over and snatches the phone off the table while mean mugging the lady. He then begins muttering to himself like he's arguing with her as if it was her responsibility to answer the phone while I was talking to her. I then ask the lady for an item I did not originally see because it was so high up on the wall and asked if I could buy it with my PSA submission. She says sure and walks away but then starts organizing things on the overfilled shelves. I stand there kind of confused then the UK man comes over and asks me if he could help so I inquire about submitting cards for PSA grading. He lets out a deep sigh and says they're busy and would be better if I came back another day. I said that's fine and just paid for the top loaders. He then asks the lady if she could clean up a bit and she snaps at him with, "what do you think I'm doing?". He then asks what did she say? And she reiterates with even more attitude. He then directed her to organize the Funko Pop section and she said she'll get it. He just shook his head and looked annoyed. I returned another day to submit my cards and I'm turned away again by a different crew. Who let out the same sigh and annoyance. I said fine, I'll just call before stopping by next time. I call a day later and ask what would be a good time to stop by to submit 3 cards. I get the same sigh and so I ask 3pm? And then told maybe and it would be better to stop by during closing hours which I couldn't do. I called again today around 1pm and it was the same guy, not the UK guy. Wish I got all of those people's names to put them on blast cause they all are really terrible at their jobs and should just quit and find something they actually enjoy doing. But yeah, guy sighs at me again! And I ask if 2:30pm would be good and he laughs and says maybe. So I ask why maybe? And I explained I stopped by twice and got turned away in person, I don't want to drive over and waste my time again. So he says it's up to whether they're busy or not and that 2 people called out. I gave up on them and went to a different GameStop 20 minutes away at a mall who gladly accepted my cards while they were swarmed by customers. The process was so quick and easy. Literally took a couple minutes. The staff at Saratoga Avenue made the process to submit cards seem like it would take forever or extremely difficult. I've been to the store in the past and this new crew really sucks. Store management either needs to pick up the morale or fire everyone and get some people who actually want to work. I would have been okay about the situation but consistently, they were rude to me and made it obvious they hated their jobs and acted like I was an annoyance. I was extremely understanding every time they sighed at me. I worked poor jobs before, I get it but I did not give them attitude or any reason to be so useless to me. Not once did they say sorry for the inconvenience or anything. I wont return to this store to buy any games, merch, and most certainly won't submit any cards for grading. Why would I trust people who act like they hate their jobs with my personal items? I highly suggest avoiding this store. Shop online or make the trip to a store with a better crew. read more

I submitted 8 pokemon cards for PSA at this location on March 26th 2025. Some of these cards Ive had since I was 12 (1999). I got a call today stating that GameStop had "lost" my cards. However I don't even have any order history on my GameStop profile. I don't think they ever left the store. Going here, out of all the Gamestops was the best decision ever! Most of the Gamestops I go to have shitty employees and talk about things they don't know anything about and try to con you into buying something you don't need, in order to get more money from you. This one here doesn't do that, I went in knowing what I wanted and that is what I got. The staff did not give me any bullshit deals or the run around and I was so happy to get in and leave happy with my products. I gathered points during the lockdown last year and I finally redeemed them. I got some accessories for my Nintendo switch and X-Box Series X. The employee that helped me was highly motivated, even though it was early in the afternoon. The staff looks like they enjoy their job as they have fun and joke around with each other, and I think that's how a job should be, nice motivated employees just bringing in good vibes around the store. Will definitely return to this location again.
