A close friend of mine attempted to pick up an order at this location and unfortunately was racially profiled. Although she presented proof that the order was indeed hers the manager by the name of Nai would not complete the transaction and giving her the merchandise that had clearly already been paid for. I was looking for a cooling fan for my new PS5. I decided to go to Gamestop due to the fact it's a Game store and would have good luck finding the item I'm looking for. So I drove to Gamestop, parked my vehicle and entered Gamestop. I was immediately confronted and asked if I had a mask. I really cannot recommend this store to anyone. I bought a "new" (not "pre-owned") copy of a game on Gamestop.com for pickup at this store. 30 minutes later, I received an email that the order was available for pickup. When I came to the store to pick up my order, a rude employee named Itzel showed me a disc in a paper sleeve and told me that she did not have the case. I showed her the order form that indicated that I had purchased a "NEW" copy and not a "pre-owned" game. She informed me that it wasn't her problem and that it was a new disc. I then asked why she had not at least emailed me while the order was being fulfilled to inform me that she did not have a new copy but merely a disc in a paper sleeve. She said that it wasn't her job to do that. I was given a refund, but the entire affair was a complete waste of time. It's not so much that she didn't have the right item in stock, but that she sent a confirmation email that the order for the "new" copy of the game was available for pickup. She should have instead simply canceled the order before I drove out there since she indeed did not have a new copy of the game in stock. Also her rude manner and poor handling of the debacle made for an unpleasant experience. The incompetence and rudeness of Itzel is beyond measure and for this reason I cannot recommend this location. read more

GameStop has no price matching guarantee on new products within any window unless you somehow don't open your product. It's better to buy from pretty much any retailer currently unless you are absolutely happy to purchase at set pricing. All of their local and online competition offers price guarantees. For some reason the switch stopped holding a charge when I callled about a replacement I was told by the manager that because the switch won't hold a charge it voids the warranty. I like this store because it is not as busy as Antelope. Although the staff is friendly they are sort of slow, like really slow LOL. If you get stuck behind somebody who doesn't know the answer to anything and they are trying to trade in a system then be prepared to wait an eternity as the employee bombards the customer with an endless stream of questions that the customer doesn't know the answer to! For example, do you have an account, do you want an account, how gigs is your hard drive, do you want to apply this credit to the pre order etc etc etc. A good tip would be to poke your head in the door and see if there is anybody at the register before going in to do business. read more

I called and asked if I could exchange a new game I recieved 2 of for christmas even though I wasn't gifted with a gift reciept. I told them I wanted to call and make sure before I walked 2 hours to the store with bad knees. The guy said it would be ok for an exchange. I walked all the way to the store and stood in a long slow line on swollen painfull legs and they told me they couldn't do it. I told them this is why I called and asked and they literally shrugged and said there was nothing they could do, they had "made a mistake". Every now and then I find myself here on my lunch break looking for a game for my brother or boyfriend. This store is pretty small but they have been here for a long time and always have what I'm looking for in stock. I even managed to buy my Wii here years ago when they were in high demand and I couldn't find one anywhere else. This GameStop can get pretty busy. From experience service is hit or miss depending on how busy they are and who is working behind the counter that day. I was in this Gamestop on the evening of 9/6/18, around 8:30-8:45. I recently unearthed and old Nintendo Wii stuffed away that my older kids used to play. My 8 yo is prime to play on this type of game system after playing Mario, Donky Kong and other classic Nintendo games on an NES classic box. I carefully select 7 pre-owned games as one of the clerks told me that if I renew /upgrade my old membership to pro @$14.99, buying pre-owned would knock my renewal down to practically zero. I presented the boxes I selected to another clerk at the cashier and watched as he pulled the discs from the drawers behind the counter. It looked as if he was mixing the displays covers with the actual game covers, but I thought he knew what he was doing. He scanned everything and I ran my card as he bagged them up. When I arrive home with my 8 year old, to our shocking surprise, SIX OF THE SEVEN BOXES WERE EMPTY, NO GAME DISCS. I WAS SOOOOO PISSED. HE SOLD ME 6 EMPTY BOXES. I might have expected 1, or maybe even 2, BUT 6 OUT OF 7, NO WAY!!! It was after 9 (closed) so I couldn't even call them much less return to pick up the discs I had paid for. Ok this is strictly based on what I experienced over the phone. Its 230 pm on Friday, I call to get a quote for COD Ghosts trade in value. The poor girl who answers is there ALONE, keeps me on hold for 9 1/2 mins before I hang up and call back. Informs me that her managers name is Jake and he isnt there. Who in their right mind makes someone work ALONE on a Friday and has customers hold on the phone for nearly 10 mins for a question that could take 20 seconds to answer. Ridiculous. I was doing a doordash order for a customer and as soon as I walked in the manager in duty Nai, yelled with an attitude for me to stand outside and wait. I didn't think much of it because it's Covid so I just went outside. When it was my turn to go in, I went in and spoke to another associate who was really helpful and I showed him the order number on my app and he proceeded to look for the item. Nai, who was supposedly helping another customer, told the associate that I wasn't allowed to have said item until I knew what it was. On my app it only said "bag" so I called the customer and asked her what it was and she told me and I told both associates what the item was and she still refused to give me the item. She told me to "call doordash and tell them that she didn't want to give me the item." That woman racially profiled me because she openly gave everyone else her orders and as soon as I walked in she snapped at me and I hadn't even uttered a word. This establishment should be ashamed of themselves for hiring a racist manager and I will be taking this to social media and letting everyone know about this ridiculous incident. read more

I remember when I was younger I used to love coming here and chatting with the employees about video games or movies even if I wasn't coming to buy anything. Sadly, this is no longer the case. Maybe the store is under new management or maybe the old employees grew up and the new guard just isn't well trained but it seems that whenever I visit my local gamestop I leave disappointed. My most recent time I reserved a controller online and was notified that they put it aside for me. When I got there the employee seemed clueless that they even had that option and come to find out they were out of stock of the controller that they told me they reserved for me (makes no sense). Luckily, I only wasted a ten minute drive but it's still annoying. My suggestion: make the trip to the Gamestop's in Fairfield if you have any questions, they're more organized and the staff is much better. read more

We ordered a new Wii U for a special price. Althiugh it was advertised as both an in-store and online sale item, we found out that the local store was out of stock. The ad specifically stated that the item was NEW but when it arrived it was obviously used. I waited on hold for over an hour 2 different times to talk to someone at customer service but there was no follow up and so I eventually ended up dealing with folks at the local store to try to get the company to stand behind the original ad for a new system. After long efforts and a wait for a system that was ordered from another store the replacement unit was obviously used as well! So basically I don't think I will ever shop here again. I preordered my Modern Warfare 3 months before release. I put the money down and said I want the Prestige edition (this was before they annonunced that it was to be called Elite). I explain to her that no I did not order the regular there must be a mistake and she said that all orders were taken as the orginal game and they had to call people who reserved it to change the preorder to the Elite version and they had so many customers they weren't able to get to everyone. I was fucking pissed. I then told the bitch if I would have known that months ago I would've made sure to come change my order but I was told it was all good. She preceeds to tell me that the Elite edition isn't anything special it juz comes with the year elite subscription and the metal case. You know what I don't give a fuck because I want the case. I want what I ordered. I don't own a Halo Reach xbox & Gearz of War xbox because I just wanted the game. I would've just bought the fucking game. I honestly wanted to tell the dumb bitch to give me back my preorder money so I can walk down the street to Target. I wasn't trying to cause a scene since there was so many people in line and I was being cool. I will not spend another dollar in there. When I opened the game at home, there was a child's movie (Dora The Explorer) instead of the game in the disc holder. I promptly contacted the GameStop and spoke to the store manger, who instructed me to contact the game developer, and told me they could not help me. My friends and family also advised me to contact customer support for GameStop, which I did. The customer support person I spoke with said they would let District manager know and they would handle it from our region. My advice to you is if customers are purchasing new or used games from this company, to have them open it in front of an employee before they leave the store to ensure they receive the correct merchandise. read more

This is the "To Go" spot for video games. I have been coming here for YEARS. The staff has always helped me pick out skill level appropriate games for my children, myself, and my grandchildren.
