Did people know that GameStop sells gutted games as new? I just learned this a few days ago. Went to pick up a game I preorder a couple weeks late. When I went home and took the game out the bag I thought they double packaged the game. When I opened it I learned it was resealed in game stop packaging. No one told me this when I was given the game. If I knew I would not of bought it. I feel like I was scammed out of a new game and sold a used game as new. And they are doing nothing to make this right. read more

I understand people working retail deserve a break but leaving a note on the door during business hours and stating you'll be back in 30 minutes is stupid. Place that employs rude stuff. I wanted to buy 2x $75 games today, Sunday. Games are locked in the case. There are no key available to open it. I offered to pre-pay for the games to ensure I have them before holidays, but no. The option was not available. No pre-pay. Then the cashier went to say that it s my choice if I want to come on Monday and he doesn't care if I get it or nit. There will be other customers to get the game. Wow. read more

Employees were very rude and unhelpful! I am astounded with service like this the retailer hasn't completely closed all stores

I haven't been to many gamestops but this one has really impressed me. They have a good amount of business for a tuesday afternoon and the employees are either helping someone or on the phone and it does take them some time to get to you. But... where they got me was the customer service. There was an issue in which a game that was ordered could not be found and they went at length to help rectify the problem and have it for me before Christmas. 5/5 - thank you for your help and your generosity. read more

Hit or miss experience here . Sometimes friendly staff , but some of the staff are , to be polite , jerks. Had a particularly unpleasant and combative experience with a tall male associate on a Friday evening with a return that prompted this review. While returning an item , I was hesitant to give out my personal info and address , and was rudely informed that "I can't bypass it sir , all stores require this, I'm not sure what the problem is " in a passive aggressive tone . Knew right then that this guy was going to be a jerk .. and the snarky remarks continued all the way to the end , where he literally encouraged me to shop at amazon instead of at their store if I was unsatisfied.. unbelievable lack of a customer empathetic sales attitude . It's unfortunate that GameStop is slowly going underwater a company , but with experiences like this , I can't say I feel bad about it anymore read more

I've never been a big fan of GameStop but I was in need of new Joy Cons and I saw they had some online at a good price so I went in to grab them. Although online they said this store had them $10 off, in the store they were labeled at full price. The man at the register said if I could pull up the price he'd match it- I pulled it up right away and everything's fine. No big deal. Then he gives me a big shpeel about how often they break and how I can pay a chunk extra to get their protection plan and how he heavily recommends it. I said nah because Nintendo fixes them for free. Then he lies and says that if you do that you have to send them to Japan (not true). I still deny the protection plan and he goes on about how I should join their rewards plan. Again I say no thanks and finally can pay and get out. I was willing to ignore the mislabeled price but at the end of the day there were three attempts here to up charge me and if I fell for all three I would've spent an additional $55! It's a major chain with a small physical store with only so many items so there's really no reason their price labels shouldn't be up to date, add to that they pretend to be knowledgeable but will also quickly lie to sell you on their insurance. No thanks. They'll only ever get my business when there's something at an amazing price and that's all I'll walk outta there buying. Buyer beware, that's for sure. read more

This location has very much improved since the last time I wrote about it. As you can see from my past few reviews of this location I felt it could really do well with more training and customer service improvement. I have found that with the new staffing additions and even prior staff members that I found fault with, have improved greatly. Staff is helpful, proactive, and non-judgmental as I felt was happening before. I have been back a few times since I have found the store to have positively changed. I am happy to report that the change was not a one-off. Everyone there is great to talk to and deal with. It has now become a pleasant place to do business with. Keep up the good work! read more

Went to this store for one of the Black Friday door busters. The people staffing the store at that ungodly hour of the night were all still very friendly, professional, and patient with us and the other people who were in line. I don't think I've been shopping on Black Friday in over a decade or ever gone middle of the night Black Friday shopping, but I was really impressed with how they handled things. Also, given my past experiences at Game Stops, this one was really pleasant. read more

I came in on a Sunday with 20 games and a console to trade-in. There were multiple families in the store and only one overworked employee behind the cash. I was concerned to say the least. However the employee Zakk deftly managed to process my trades all while taking phone calls and assisting customers in the store. I was very impressed with his ability to manage both the technical questions from parents and the inane ones from the kids. This store is a big upgrade from the old one across the street. If you are black don't go to this Gamestop. I stood in line 5 min while 1 employee talked on the phone only to have the only other employee (a John Cena lookalike) leave the counter for for no apparent reason then return and look right past me and ask the white lady behind me if she needed help. The whole situation definitely reeked of racism. I will not be returning to this Gamestop and would advise against it if you are a minority. read more

The Gamestop in Waltham is a great store that offers a great variety of items and the staff are always so helpful. I like to go with my 11 yo son who loves the place so much has told me he would like to work their when he is older :) Zak the manager is really helpful and goes out of his way to either find an item in the store, provide great feedback on games that my son will discuss with him and is always very professional. read more

A very friendly staff that is always eager to help. I love comeing to this gamestop, they are very fiendly and are subtle about the suggestive selling. They always make my son and I feel welcome. The location is also very convenient and they have a good selection of used and new games. read more

This GameStop is abysmal. Never ever go here under any circumstance. Between this place and the one in the Natick Mall, I would rather drive the extra 20 minutes to Natick instead of dealing with this corner store of a GameStop with the most stubborn employees I've ever seen in retail. I've been in retail for almost ten years and oh my goodness these guys have no idea what the hell customer service is. They're awkward, annoying, and will ask you if you want to pre-order 90 different games in a simple transaction when you're buying one game. I understand it's part of their job to ask but it's literally been to the point where every employee on the floor will ask me the same question 20 times until I feel so aggravated being in this claustrophobic store I just leave unhappy. Please get your priorities straight guys. There has to be a balance of pleasing the customer and upselling your product. Please stop shoving every new game that comes out down every persons throat thirty times. We've grown tired of it. read more

I interrupted their conversation after waiting for a lull or how dare I say customer service to get a no before I was even done asking. So I walked out. Do not go here! read more
