We read the reviews before coming and said let's try it out anyway, we have been to both spas in the area and enjoyed them both. We enjoyed this smaller one a tad bit more for several factors. This jimjilbang is less crowded and not over stimulating. They don't have a specific time when you can get mats out, the bathhouse is smaller but offers a steam room, dry sauna and, cold and hot bath for soaking. They offer 4 levels of body scrub, my husband and I got the basic scrub which was equivalent to a scrub you get in Korea and very much worth it. They start at $60 and go up to $190, the higher ones included facials and other stuff (I was told). This is not a place to go if you need a new, glamorous look. It is older looking but nonetheless still serves its purpose. The areas were very clean and kept organized. The staff were phenomenal, no discrimination took place from start to finish. We received a warm reception in all areas, and they were very accommodating. We will be back!! read more

During my visit, staff falsely accused my partner of being involved in a past incident, insisted he was someone else, and produced a photo of a completely different person as "evidence." They refused to apologize, continued to claim he was the same person, and told him he'd be "monitored closely" if he stayed. This created a hostile environment that made us leave immediately. What would have originally been a 3 star review due to ease of entry, ample free parking and pleasant front desk attendant on evening of 12.24.21 quickly went into a downward spiral as the night progressed. The dog that freely moved about received better treatment! SMH As mentioned, the lady who checked us in - entry fee upon arrival in exchange for uniform to wear in common areas and locker key that doubled as log for services/purchases - was friendly and cute. She explained flow of place and I listened despite frequenting other Korean bath houses in vicinity. Made my way to my locker - #34 - after leaving boots at staging area for shoes near entry on female side. Changed into oversized two piece uniform and brushed teeth with complimentary toothbrush. The area was clean and offered several services including hip baths, body scrubs and facials. Full shower area, rest room and areas to rest also in this area. Opted to go to the salt room, which was warm and needed for injury incurred earlier in the day. Later discovered that the salt room extended to the male side and had a divider between. Sadly, every detail of a loud conversation could be heard from the men. Upon exit, did meet my male companion in the common areas. Kitchen was closed, so we proceeded to the clay room to relax. Towels, blocks, pillows, mats and blankets were available - had to hunt for some, but nonetheless use included with entry. The clay room was decent, but rest not possible due to loud snoring competition! Removed ourselves to what we believed was a second clay room, and relaxed in there until an irate person came in making a fuss. Did not realize it was geared towards my male companion initially, as room did not state 'women only' as the door next to it. After the confusion subsided, we went to the ice room, which floors were cold but tolerable with mat and blanket. Stayed for a little, went back to clay #1 and then back to our respective gender sides so he could swim and I could enjoy the salt room again. We had agreed on a meet up in common areas timeframe and I proceeded there after capturing pics for my review and this began the beginning of the end for me. An authoritative figure approached my front desk person and appeared to have a stern conversation. Later front desk approached me inquiring about said pictures, and I explained reasoning as member of Yelp squad etc. She then probed deeper to see said pictures and asked me to erase price list, etc. Explained the value of reviews and questioned secrecy, especially if goal is to grow business. Smh again! I obliged and deleted some pics as will never return. Thought it would be optimal to have a bath house location closer than Pleasant Hill, but apparently not. The company on Pleasant Hill has set the bar - better services, kitchen open later and more welcoming reception. Hopefully Gangnam will review that model and make much needed improvements! read more

I was very uneasy today and had a lot on my mind and couldn't sleep. I had always seen this place on my daily commute to work so I stopped in to treat myself to a massage. I FEEL LIKE A NEW WOMAN!! When I walked in the woman at the front was very observant and ready to help me and guide me-- she could tell it was my first time. After explaining the menu, she gave me instructions on my service. The facility is immaculate! I felt very comfortable and safe. The body scrub was absolutely refreshing; she even scrubbed my scalp! The massage portion was a little short in my opinion but only because it felt SO GOOD I didn't want her to stop! The cucumber facial I received was exactly what my skin needed. 100% will recommend. 100% will return. Self love is the best love and self care is important. Gangnam Sauna is absolutely dreadful! The entire place is filthy with mold EVERYWHERE in the wet areas and cobwebs with mold hanging down from light fixtures, pipes, etc. There is a really horrible smell all through the place. The hot tubs were tepid at best and cloudy, murky water with mystery floating debris...stringy, white debris (you figure it out). The patrons were almost exclusively men leering at others, stimulating themselves, and aggressively trying to touch others...and not taking "no" for an answer. The bath attendant clearly could observe this behavior as it wasn't subtle at all, but did nothing about it. The food service area was extremely dirty as well and added an additional strong, unpleasant odor. As others have noted, the staff is disengaged and there are confusing, hand-written signs everywhere...most seemed to relate to "out of order" issues. The saunas (in common area) seem to have personal belongings of the staff piled in them and, as others have suggested, it looks like people (staff) might live there. This is overall just a horrible facility... Go to Jeju or Spa Land in the area instead! read more

They show dry saunas on their website but nothing inside (unless its in the womens area) looks anything like that. They also Assign lockers so you are right against the person who came in just in front of you. Then the person who comes in behind you is given the immediate next locker to you. This makes it much harder to use. There are a couple other walls full of lockers but no they start with the first one, then the one immediately next and so on. it is very customer unfriendly. Other Korean spas intown realize customers might enjoy a bit of space but your not going to get it here. I was willing to go past the dirty floors and dirty bathrooms , but after my last experience I will never go there no more, spaland is way classier , cleaner and professional. After a long day I needed to relax and have some soup after , so after my shower I went to the cafeteria but these people speak absolutely no English , and cashier started arguing with the cook in my face over me asking if soup #13 is spicy, they then walked on right out the cafeteria and left without taking my order or anything , this was very awkward for me given that I don't speak Korean. This was my second time at a Korean spa and sauna and Jeju Sauna in Duluth was the only reference point I had for comparison. The entry fee was $20 here. They had multiple different types of sauna rooms, hot-tubs, and massages. I thought Gangnam was a great sauna if you're just trying to relax and want to spend less money than Jeju, but Jeju has a lot more rooms and it is a lot busier than Gangnam. However, when I went to Jeju it was a Friday night versus when I went to Gangnam which was a random week day afternoon. So I bet that there is way less crowd during this time either way. Jeju had a lot more co-op sauna rooms in the middle too. Gangnam had a couple, but it was kind of confusing if some of the sauna rooms were more for men (Ex: Clay room) or just close to the side of the men's locker room and same with some of the rooms closer to the women's locker room (Ex: Jade Sauna Room). Both saunas have both a hot tub and a cold one. Gangnam also have a restaurant similar to Jeju but it is a lot smaller than Jeju's cafe. I went to this spa back in 2019 and it was ok. I don't know what happened in the last four years but I will NEVER go back there again. I DO want to say that the woman who did my scrub/massage treatment was great. It was way too expensive for a place that looks like a run down hostel inside, though. Everything was either chipped, stained, moldy, dirty or broken. Piles of people's stuff, all over the place. Hot pools looked dirty with black grout. There are unintelligible "signs" that don't make any sense taped to the walls and doors everywhere. I couldn't tell if certain areas were men only or women only. Gangnam Sauna is like a poor man's version of Jeju Sauna. It's similar in almost all aspects, just not as nice. Still functional, though. This is a jjimjilbang, a Korean bathhouse which contains showers, hot and cold tubs, various types of saunas, resting rooms, a restaurant, and a beauty salon. It's located on Buford Highway OTP (outside the perimeter) in Norcross, not far from Jimmy Carter Blvd. The entrance fee is $20 for 24 hours. This compares to $25 for 24 hours at Jeju. The business is open 24/7. You do not have to pay the entrance fee if you just want to eat at the restaurant or go to the salon. Services that cost an additional fee include body scrubs, massages, masks, and hip baths. These cost anywhere from $40 to $150 and can take 30 minutes to 2 hours. The entrance fee is waived for most of these services. It's almost like a shopping mall or supermarket food court stall. Like one of the stalls at Super H Mart or another Asian grocery store, the restaurant here has a picture menu with 20+ items, all Korean food. Each dish is $12 or less. Items include various soups and stews, noodles (including ramen), bulgogi (shredded marinated beef), ddukbokki (rice cakes), and patbingsu (shaved ice dessert). Beverages include fruit juices, sikhye (sweet rice beverage), and hot and iced coffee. The dishes come with banchan (side dishes). Everyone seemed to enjoy their food even though I noticed the ramen was Shin Ramyun. They prepare instant ramen at some of the noraebangs (karaoke places) too. The restaurant has a TV. I didn't see hours posted for the restaurant, but the salon is open 7 days a week from 9:30am to 7:30pm. At the salon, they do mani-pedis, waxing, hair, and skincare. I didn't go inside, but some of my friends used their services. Before admittance, you have to digitally sign a waiver that's written in Korean. I can't read Korean so I could've been signing my life away when I filled mine out. You have to enter your name and phone number. Once you're in the system, you won't have to fill out the waiver on return visits. After paying the entrance fee, you're handed a numbered locker key, uniform (blue and gray for men, orange and gray for ladies), sealed disposable toothbrush, and sealed disposable razor. The facility has gender-segregated sections with a co-ed section in between. When you are in the gender-segregated sections, you pretty much walk around naked. If you're uncomfortable with that, you can carry a towel around to cover yourself. However, it's much more comfortable to go into the saunas and tubs naked. The uniforms are really only used for the co-ed areas or if you want to go to the restaurant or salon. No need to bring your own towel. They have plenty for you to use. As a common courtesy, you should shower before using any of the facilities. If you want to brush your teeth and shave, they have sinks, mirrors, and sit-down stools for that. Shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap are provided at the showers. In the men's area, there is a hot tub, cold dunk, and three saunas: wet, dry, and salt. All three saunas are very hot and will make you sweat profusely. I liked the salt room. It looked like there were huge bricks of salt in there. The locker room has a bunch of loungers and a big screen TV where you can rest and relax. Body scrubs, massages, masks, and hip baths are done on an appointment basis in each gender-segregated area. Male workers work on males and female workers work on females. The co-ed section has the following saunas: jade room (women only), red clay room, and ice room. The red clay room was hot, but not as hot as the saunas in the men's only area. What makes the red clay room special are these beds of spherical "rocks" which you lay on. They serve to both massage and drain the toxins out of your body? I'm not sure about the latter. Another name for the red clay room is "quantum energy room." Okay... At Jeju Sauna, they have brief descriptions on the health benefits of each room. Not here. You just get the name. The ice room was disappointing. It was just a room of beds and it wasn't even that cold. The ambient temperature inside the room was probably only in the 60s. It also looked like this room was partially used for storage. In the center of the co-ed section is a dark nap area. There are stacks of sleeping mats on either side of the nap area. Grab one and take a nap. It reminds me of kindergarten. Service is fine. Some of the employees can be rather brusque, while others are friendly. During our Sunday afternoon visit, the clientele was mostly older Korean folk with a few older non-American Caucasians interspersed. It was quiet. In the end, I give Gangnam Sauna 3 out of 5 Yelp stars: A-OK. It's not as nice or as big as Jeju, but it's not as crowded either. I'd come back. read more

The location is a bit far from where I live but it's worth the trip It's 24/7 so you can come off hour for the privacy you are looking for. The food is good and authentic Korean cuisine. Service at restaurant was great and kimchi was good. Body scrub with milk and oil is legit. Get the top layer to read skin off. Wish they provided more towels. Dressing room is good size. The steam sauna is a pleasure and will open those pores indeed. Everything has well sign. I was told that staff is vaccinated but I'm not 100 percent sure about that. But they al were masked. Upon arrival at the front desk person was having some sort of coughing attacks! Poor thing was coughing so uncontrollably she forgot to cover her mouth. In between open air coughs, she grabbed my shorts and T-shirt and took my debit card. In all fairness, pollen was high that day. I actually stopped at the gas station to get Claritin before my time at the spa This was my first time, I had no idea what I was getting into. I looked for the sign that said "women" and found my way. No sort of introduction or tour of the facility. Not that it was extensive but it would've been nice. The locker area was as it should be neat and clean. There was a lady in panties and a bra who showed me when my locker was. She was the nicest person throughout the day to me. I changed and decided to sit in the salt room for a while which was perfectly hot the way I liked it. After that I called off grab some water and went to the Saunas where I allowed my hair to get deep conditioned. I showered and went back to the main room changed.. Then took a short nap in the Salt Room again. Then I later went back to the steam sauna, The one that has a sign " No Ederly" is pretty darn hot. I could only take about 8 to 10 minutes in there. However, it felt wonderful. The room next to it is much smaller, less hot but it was full. I squeezed in. . All in all, I had the experiencethat I was looking for. No services this time but interested in the body scrub and the hip bath next time. As I was leaving, the lady behind the counter who had her coughing under control... took my clothing & my key and told me she would see me next week. That's highly likely. This place is rubbing off on me! ;) I came on a Saturday after dragon boat practice at the lake and a medium sized lunch. It was 3:45 when I arrived and I had to time my departure before hangry reared its ugly head. I only stayed 5 hours this time. I made a 6pm appointment for 1.5 hours of scrubbing, massage, and facial. I felt very rushed to get to the scrubbing area by 5:40 (allow at least 20 minutes of cycling between the cold and hot tubs, and sauna to open up pores). They were very prompt (I was the only one scrubbed).. almost too prompt because I didn't get to stay in the sauna longer (I came a few minutes late). I would recommend giving yourself at least 4 hours before the last service of the day (maybe 5 after a big meal). Napping in the quantum energy clay bead room itself took about 40 minutes! (Probably not recommended but I drank a lot of water after...) In those two hours, I got a long nap and then spent some time in the Jade cold room and 10 minutes in the hot salt room. It wasn't too busy. I stayed in the rooms by myself. The 1.5 hour service is soooo worth it! I was scrubbed and soaped for a good 40-45 minutes (I find 20-30 minutes is adequate to make time for more massages). After a rinse in the shower, I was lathered with aromatherapy oils. It's not too thick. Some great deep tissue massage was to be had, also on the scrubbing table, also in the birthday suit. They put towels so you don't slide off the table. The mask was relaxing and shampoo was needed. The whole experience was very relaxing and I look forward to... eating enough before hand (if I don't snack there), taking my time in the different rooms and pools, and doing at least the 1.5 hour service next time (request friendly scrubber#3 and a medium to hard massage!)! So I recently felt the urge to go to sauna and this one seemed to be good and on the cheaper end. I've heard a lot about Jeju but it seemed a bit more expensive since I wanted to do the scrub and massage as well. Also, I wanted a place with a smaller crowd so I could just relax. This one definitely fit the bill. The sauna is pretty self explanatory. The workers speak mostly Korean but they do know enough English to explain the process to you. When you walk inside, you'll be at the front desk and the restaurant will immediately on your left. At the front desk, you tell them what services you want and then you pay for it. After, they give you clothes to change into, your locker key and a packaged toothbrush. There is a co-ed area behind the front desk area where you can rest and even sleep since the place is open 24/7. There are some rooms here such as the jade room, red clay room and cold room. Further in the back are the shower areas and additional rooms for separate genders. You have to be naked to be in the shower area so just a heads up. Do take a shower before you get in the pool or steam room. So the scrub, massage and facial option is $110 and with that, you don't have to pay the admission fee, which is $20. It seems they wave the fee when you buy certain packages. If you choose this, they'll make sure you spend some time in the steam room first so your pores can open up and make it easier for them to scrub the dead skin off your body. The scrub was very...interesting ahah I never knew just how much dead skin is on your body but man, I have never felt so baby butt smooth in my life!! The lady I had was Mrs. Kim (#5) and she is super awesome and she works HARD. Every part of you will be scrubbed man, just be prepared lol To me, it was super worth it because not only was the scrub awesome, the massage and facial were both great as well. You just leave feeling so rejuvenated and refreshed. Definitely would recommend this. After, I was hungry so I grabbed some food at their restaurant. I got the bibimbap and it was pretty standard, nothing amazing but not bad either. I went here before I started a new job. I was by myself which was pretty relaxing but I get kind of antsy so I didn't stay too long. The pools were great and very clean The saunas were good as well. I felt the dry sauna could have been a little bit hotter but let me tell you the steam room made up for that. I got a body scrub and it was amazing. I didn't get anything to eat and I regret it because it smelled great and I looked at some things people were eating and they looked delicious. Front desk staff was really nice and I had no idea what I was doing so this woman kind of showed me the ropes. She was nice about it. I would definitely come back here again but next time I would bring a friend so I have someone to talk to read more

I've been riding by this place, since it re-opened wanting to try it. I once stopped by before it was Gangnan, but felt my presence wasn't welcomed. Needless to say I forgot about it. I'm a regular at Jeju, and love it's space and amenities. During holidays Jeju tends to get super busy, so once again I decided to give the new Gangnam sauna a try. It doesn't have all the glitz and glam that Jeju has, and I only used the red clay, and salt rooms for sweating. The jade room was room temperature(more for sleeping), I really wish they had more sweat rooms. Although I will say the salt room was HOT! You can only stay in there maybe 5 or 6 minutes at a time. Of course it has the dry and steam sauna, along with the cold and hot tubs. I got a 30 minute body scrub that was awesome. I love that they used black soap(at least that's what it looked like) for scrubbing. This little lady scrubbed me like I was a baby. I will definitely be doing that again! I also believe if you spend$80 or more on services here you don't have to pay an entry fee. Jeju take note! With that said Gangnam will definitely be my new goto place, when I'm not up for the crowded Jeju. read more

It's super super small and a very different vibe from Jeju or Spaland but still has everything you need. It's kind of like a Korean spa experience in someone's house. Legit my favorite over Jeju. After Jeju's popularity shot up, it started to become a bit unbearable with it's odd attraction of people who love to snore. Gangnam is smaller, cheaper, less popular, and quieter. QUIETER!! I can't stress that enough. To all you people reading this, don't go. Stay at Jeju. I want to enjoy this place in peace with my fellow Aujimmas :D The co-ed jimjilbang area is actually the first thing you see when you walk in, so you will see people resting outside already. The restaurant, which is in the jimjilbang at Jeju, is actually outside in the lobby area, so you could go there and eat if you really wanted to. I didn't try the food. After passing through the jimjilbang, you'll enter into the bath area, and these are separate. They've put the salt room inside the locker room area so you can sweat it out nude if you want, which is nice! There's plenty of locker space as usual, and we came here to spend the night. Relaxed fit sauna clothes are available of course, and they also provide a big towel for you to cover yourself as you sleep in the jimjilbang area. You could sleep in the locker room too, but they don't have a separate sleeping room like Jeju has, so you'll be dealing with the lights. Also unlike Jeju, they don't "turn on the lights' at 7 or 8 am in the Jimjilbang, so you could sleep forever if you wake up to the sun coming up. The baths are also smaller, and there are stand up and sit down showers available. They offer the same scrubs and hip baths as at Jeju. I think the prices are the same, but I didn't check. My favorite room is the steam sauna. They also use herbs which is great. It feels especially good during the winter and you can literally feel your pores waking up to gobble in all the herby moisture they can. If you've been to Jeju, you know the drill here. It's great, it's fun, it's relaxing, and seniors get a discount too (15$ for 65+!) so it's the perfect place to spend the night. PS. Don't go. Stay at Jeju. Pleeeaaseeee read more

My first trip to a Korean Spa- I choose them over Jeju because Jeju seems like it's packed and I wanted something smaller. I was NOT disappointed. I chose a Gold Spa package. Which you should do. Trust me. Take two hours of your life and go see Ms. Lee (1#) and change your life. I have never been so thoroughly exfoliated in all my life. I am now utterly drag resistant, and could probably outswim Michael Phelps if I could swim without holding my nose. Ms. Lee scrubbed away my dead skin, my worries, and probably the sins of my past. I finally went to this place after weeks of driving by it. I love it & will def go again. To indulge in this Quantum moment every once in a while is a must. It's Asian owned (by friendly Koreans & Chinese - so don't except the English to be the dominating conversational language there). The whole experience was nice.. I walked in, paid and was given a key with a locker # & a sauna outfit. I found my locker #, took a quick slightly cold shower (since I am going into a sauna=hot) then changed into my uniform. I went into the clay sauna room (which had no clay?) but it was nice since it was the Quantum Energy Room. You just go in & soak your body (or feet) in the energy heated balls. I stayed in about 10 minutes, went to the Salt Room next, which was nice but really hot. It was hot. lol I then went to get a body scrub.. Nice! Must get. She scrubbed me then oiled my body up with this fragrance oil that was like VS Heavenly. I got a slight pressure rub and afterwards I went to lay in the jade room. I finished with going to the Ice Sauna which also was the workout area? It felt good and icey cold in there. Great way to end the day @ the Sauna. We were in town visiting and were somewhat pressed for time before heading to the airport so opted for Gangnam instead of Jeju. I have been to quite a few Korean spas around the country and have to say I was disappointed. You have to get a $110 package to get your $20 entry free. I've been to places where you just have to get one treatment for free entry. Additionally you can't only get a massage, you can do scrub only, but for massage you have to do scrub, massage, mask package...which still is not the $110 package. The women's area is okay, nothing fancy, but has what you need. The salt sauna is in this area, nice you can be naked and get a good sweat on in there. The clay ball sauna was the best of the community saunas. Like folks said, the restaurant run by someone else, so it is outside the spa near the check in desk. Your shirts and T are okay, but you have to put shoes on to enter. The menu for the restaurant is posted throughout the spa but the restaurant is under new ownership so the don't have any traditional K spa fare, not even baked eggs, mostly fried rice dishes. The new place is called Joy's Cafe and Joy was less than joyful, she was quite rude when I requested to order just rice and steamed veggies, said, "we don't have that", made no suggestions, and walked away. Later we did notice some Korean customers with just veggies, so make what you will of that. read more

I finally tried the one other 24 hour Korean Spa in Atlanta. Jeju had a line out the door so we tried this place. It wasn't bad at all just don't expect the same type of experience. It has a culture of it's own. Everything is on a smaller scale too. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. You see more native Koreans here. Everyone just sticks to themselves and does their own thing. I like that. They have a great steam room and sauna for sure. The quantum energy room was something not offered elsewhere. It's a little pit with marbles. It felt great, you get in and let them come over you, like you would if you where buried in sand. They also have really good dry heat rooms for everyone to sit and relax in the communal area. I wish the common area was bigger, a small space can be crowded quickly. They have blankets above for when you stay to spend the night. If you're gonna pay for a 24 hour sauna, You need to spend the night and get the full experience. We got dinner since we stayed the whole night. We tried the traditional bimbimbop, duk boki,. Not bad at all. We love that they serve beer here too! Overall this place is low key, less crowded and relaxing. read more

I like how this sauna is less crowded and closer to home, however, I feel you don't get the full K spa experience like you would at Jeju, but the entrance fee is $10 cheaper, so in a way you get what you pay for. This location is adequate for me, since I mainly go to just utilize the various saunas, steam rooms and hot tub on occasion, but I wish the restaurant offered more of the Korean fare that is mentioned on the menu...I was told when I went to place an order that the restaurant was under new management and they didn't have much, not even kimbap. The only other disappointment I had was that the "Ice Room" was room temperature when I went...at Jeju, the ice room is frigid, how it's supposed to be. I guess you can just cool off in the main area, drinking cold water from the water dispenser, it just takes longer, lol. All in all, it's a nice place to relax and get your sweat/detox on, that's not too crowded and the staff are generally very nice. My only suggestions to the facility are to revamp the restaurant, ensure the ice room stays frigid and maybe offer spa services a la carte, in case one would rather not partake in the scrubbing torture, lol. read more

I am really not a fan of Gangnam Sauna. And, to be completely honest, this place really creeped me out. I was hoping for more of a co-ed and social environment, like at the other sauna in town that is much larger, but Gangnam is very limited in size and layout. The ajummas working at Gangnam are also very old and can barely hear. So both English and Korean are both limited when asking questions. To say the least, I had a very difficult time and it lead to an uncomfortable experience for my party. And, there were many questions that I had regarding services, etc, because signs are not clearly posted. The layout was not to my liking either. The restaurant is totally separate with a separate entrance, the same for the salon--- so you have to walk past the entrance at the front to go to either. The only common area is very dark and there is limited talking, it is odd. For some, Gangnam might be a better choice, like if you are seeking solitude and a very quiet environment. For me, definitely not worth the price. read more

Self Care to the 3rd power here folk. I treated myself right last Monday and I am soooooo happy and baby soft. Needing a serious woosah moment I drove to Gangnam last Monday. My first time at a Korean Sauna and it will not be my last. I was greeted by the amazing smile of the clerk at the front desk who went over the service menu with me. No muss, fuss or hard selling. I decided to purchase the bundle of a body scrub, massage, and facial. Will not be my last time. I was given a uniform and ushered to the locker room. Once I disrobed I went into the sauna and soak room. Hot tub. Cold tub, steam sauna and hot sauna were in here along with a service area where women were getting their life. Ms. Lee took care of me in the most amazing way. She scrubbed me to life. Slathered, kneaded, massaged, bathed, doused... After my spa treatment I relaxed in the clay room and then the jade room. I enjoyed some tasty dumplings and green tea before going back to the clay room. I am counting the days before I get back to Mrs. LEE. Did I mention it won't be my last time? read more

Ok, I'm a white older chunk of a woman with serious privacy issues. I don't know why it got stuck in my head that I wanted a body scrub. I hate always being able to scrub more dead skin off in the shower even though I use exfoliating gloves. So a bucket list item that I'll repeat. I didn't go to the large well known one about 13 miles away. I read the reviews and drove by it several times, it seemed simply too busy, too many groups and too much talking. I had a Korean massage yesterday, I'll review it too but a great experience from Origin. She is Korean, young and fit and goes every Sunday with with her family / friends? She said it was very good and called the owner when I got ready to go over just so I'd feel comfortable. She said Friday night and the weekends are busiest and the weekday mornings are the most quiet. So It's not very busy on a weekday morning at 11:30, it did get busiest later 1pm. I stayed about 4 1/2 hours but 90 minutes were for services I bought. A kind woman explained how it was laid out. I got a combo so didn't have to pay the entrance fee. I changed in a women's locket room into a comfy overly large t shirt and loose fitting shorts. Glad they had big enough sizes for me. I started in the clay room there in the common area, there are head rests and you lay in these kind of beds on the ground filled with small, grape-size clay balls. They hurt my feet a lot. I settled in then it was just squirming around to dig in and cover my feet and hands. Inl think it felt great for my arthritic joints. I could dig and find a comfortable side lying position. It wasn't overly hot. But shifting brought warmer beads up. I think the other room in the common area was a jade room, the room was comfortably cool. I didn't stay. People were sleeping there. Then I went into the bath area You could go to the salt room clothed. I stayed a long time determined to sweat out all the ugg. Then I showered, there are 2 areas, one you sit down with a hand held shower head and bowls to pour lots of water. The other is a stand up area. It's an open space, but a door separates it from the dressing area. So yeah from that point on you're naked. I stayed in the hot tub for a long time, it's on the right, not marked, the cold tub was too cold for me to want to enter. Then I wrote my number on a white board for my services, body scrub, massage and face mask. Ok, the nice thing is this area is in the far right corner and had a half wall and a full side wall. There are 4 or 5 bright pink tables, so a little more privacy than I expected. The woman was older, did wear a bra and underwear. Started face down. She scrubbed and scrubbed. Extremities in different positions to access everything that could be scrubbed. Went to one side then face up and then other side and then face down and went through it two more times, I had a lot of dead skin :/ and the private scrub was the groin area, the creases where your panty line is and scrubbed pubic hair area but no more. Then a quick shower and the massage, kind of rough, lots of smacks with hands cupped, so they didn't hurt, elbows, stretches, yep, still naked. She finished by washing and conditioning my hair (think how much dead skin.) I didn't need to shower after, covered in a nice smelling oil, face mask was whatever but my skin feels awesome. I think the body scrub will be my once a month treat. All this from the point of view of a chunky old white lady who is super private about my body. Yes I'm coming back. read more

At the front, the staff will greet you nicely and will ask if you are staying over night. You put your name, number, and sign on the computer. Everything is in Korean. Just like how the other review said it. They will give you a uniform, toothbrush, and locker key. My boyfriend and I didn't get a razor but it's okay, we didn't need one anyways. We separated our ways and entered the locker room. If you go forward from the locker room entrance there's double doors which leads to where everyone washes up. On the side, there was a steam room and the area where you do the scrub and other services. The hip service is inside the locker room. From the double doors, if you look straight, there's a mini foundation (hot water) in the middle, and two tubs in the back. The cold one is on the left and the hot one is on the right. There's no sign saying which one is, I had to touch the water to know. There's a whole bunch of signs saying 'after the sauna, shower before you go into the cold or hot tub'. I'm not sure if you're suppose to shower before you go to the salt room and sauna but I still did (better to be safe than look a newbie?). Please bring a towel scrub to wash yourself. I felt left out that I left mine home and I didn't want to purchase the small scrub towel for $4 at sauna (it's $10 for the long one). There's masks ($1 each) and some stuff you can purchase at the front. I still try to wash my myself clean by scrubbing my hands. You can bring your own stuff like shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towel and etc. There's shampoo, conditioner, body soap bar (that anyone can use on the side) and chairs. Inside the locker room, there's small towels, hairdryers, q-tips, toothpaste, hair brushes, and body lotion to use. After using the towels and the uniforms, put them in the bin that's next to the dry, clean towels rack. The salt room was a nice feeling but I wish it was hotter. I didn't see a bucket of water to pour to make it hotter. The walls are hot and feels so nice for your back especially if you have back pain (if you're from a hot state like Florida and Las Vegas, it felt like high 80 degrees without A/C). I stayed in this room the most for my back pain. I didn't see anyone go into the salt room but I saw a lot people going in the steam room, hot tubs, and getting body scrubs. The steam room and hot tub were a nice feeling to lean back as well. You can wear a bottom bathing suit if you feel shy but I only saw two people wearing it. After I saw ahjuma went around in the locker room to grab stuff naked, I went whatever and went naked. You will get used to being naked and the weird feeling will go away after awhile. So many ahjumas just walked around naked with nothing to hide about. The ladies who scrub and do other services, they do wear bathing suits or some type of covering (bra and underwear) so you won't see them right in the private parts while they're scrubbing you. There's a jade room (females only), two red clay rooms, and one cold room. And one room area in the middle of the hallways. In the red clay room, it can get slippery where the clay balls are so be careful. It felt nice to lay on them but touching them had a weird clay feeling. I had to wash my hands after leaving the red clay room. I do admit, the ice room isn't very cold but cool enough to just chill. My boyfriend and I slept in the cold room because we wanted to stayed cool. No one really bothers you while you're in any rooms or in the area where everyone can just chill (it's in the middle of the hallways). The jade room feels like the cold room to me. They'll give you one thin blanket sheet and one little bit thicker blanket after you are done with the locker room. Ask them at the front where you paid. You can bring in your own blankets and pillows. If you go to the room that's in the middle of the hallways, there's wall adapters and a wire cord to charge your electronics. Restaurant opens at 8am and closes at 9:30pm. They will announce at 9pm for last call. If you order before 9:30 and ask nicely, they will still cook for you. I didn't get a chance to try the food because I ate dinner before I came here but I'll try it next time. Overall, the experience here was nice and not too crowded. I didn't get any rude attitudes from anyone. There's not many different variety rooms like Jeju's but it's okay, I still like it here. My boyfriend and I will come here again. We actually prefer here than staying at the hotel/motel. read more
