I originally parked in the small lot on the right (when facing the building) and it was a very tight squeezed, but then realized there was a much larger parking lot on the other side, so I moved over there. It's been a while since I've visited The Inside Scoop. The last time I remember going, you went inside and ordered the ice cream. I'm not sure when they switched to the window, but I found it to be much more convenient than many people being squished inside a small space to order. There were lots of choices of ice cream to try, but I ultimately picked blueberry pie in a sugar cone. It was delicious. My mom picked peppermint (her favorite flavor) and was very happy with how many chunks of candy were in it. The employee that took our order was very friendly and seemed to scoop our ice cream well. Overall, The Inside Scoop is a must-try ice cream spot in this area.

There's a tiny parking lot to the right of the boldly painted building, but an even bigger one to the left. If you have a larger vehicle, I recommend parking in the left lot. Plenty of space for you there! The young woman at the counter was super peppy and was excited to scoop me her favorite, black raspberry Oreo, on special that week. I grabbed extra napkins because the humidity outside was already working against me. I walked over to the seating area on the side and got to work quickly before nature won. The black raspberry ice cream was cool and creamy, great raspberry flavor without tasting artificial as some do. The oreos adding some chocolatey richness to the experience. It felt indulgent and refreshing. I basically inhaled it so I wouldn't wear it but every bite was fantastic. Inside Scoop has been there for ages, and for good reason. I got a few of the chocolates to try out. While the chocolate itself was rich and smooth, the fillings/other flavors were a mixed bag. The fruit flavors, such as passionfruit, were pretty non-existent, so the point I had to wonder if I received the wrong chocolates. The hazelnut was not bad, though not outstanding. Don't come out of your way for this spot but it's a nice place to satiate your sweet tooth while exploring this is small, yet, scenic part of the state.

I bought chocolate for my kids and I and they loved it. I usually avoid Wickford in the summer to avoid the crowds, but I think it might be worth it to come back just for the chocolate alone. On a 78 degree clear Sunday evening in mid July, the two lines to place orders were long, and the parking lot was full. The quality of the home made ice cream makes Baron's a summer destination. It is amazing how organized and well thought out the ordering system is. There are two lines/windows for orders, and a third line/area for pick up. If you pay with a card, there is a staff member expediting orders while you stand in line. Staff brings your order out. It only took 25 minutes from arriving to indulging.

They don't have indoor seating, just an outside patio with chairs and tables, but since it was raining, it was not an option. Once someone handed us our ice cream at the side of the building, we walked back to our car to eat it. The ice cream is very creamy, not overly sweet, and lives up to the names of its flavors. The brittle brickley was a vanilla base with chunks of toffee or butterscotch. The chunks were light and small so not hard on the teeth at all. The peanut butter cup had a good amount of candy in it. The major issue I had with this place is the lack of options for people who have allergy restrictions. Typically when I go to an ice cream shop, they have either a good selection of soft serve flavors that are safe for those with nut allergies, or a protocol to follow with scooping hard ice cream to ensure that the order is safe for people with allergies. However, at Nana's, I was told that the only options in the shop that would be safe for my nut allergy were chocolate or vanilla soft serve in a cup, as the cones may be cross contaminated there as well. This was very disappointing. I understand that this is a fairly independent and locally run business, but I still believe that with the large population of people who have nut allergies, they needed to be a bit more accommodating and provide more options. In addition to this, the shop was very stingy with size. When you ask for a small, you get a kiddie size.
