I've been here a few times for RI food fights. I love all the choices for iced coffee flavors and their food is always yummy! I love the large amount of indoor and outdoor seating! Yummy! I got a matcha latte with white chocolate. I like my matcha a bit sweeter, so if you like a more earthy taste this is definitely a good choice. My mom got a chai tea latte which was so good that I needed to get my own at another coffee shop because I couldn't stop thinking about it. We got a banana bread slice too because someone in front of us ordered one and it looked too good not to get one of our own. We also got a turkey sausage egg and cheese sandwich on an Asiago bagel. I thought it was good, just a normal sandwich and nothing special about it. It was a busy little place but they got through the line fairly quickly and there is ample seating. This little coffee shop is cute but it's definitely not the place to come if you have a big appetite for some mouth watering food. The avocado toast was plain and lacked flavor, same with the chicken wrap. The strawberry smoothie was good, but it seemed to a pre-made mix, not fresh fruit. Although, I don't drink coffee my boyfriend is always on the hunt for a good coffee and he thought it was okay. I would like to point out the variety of coffee beans, it was super cool and all the workers were very nice. read more

TLC is a place I love to go too. They have plenty of parking. They have seating outside and seating inside. It is close to the Kingston Train Station so it is my go to place to get breakfast or lunch for the train. I have never had a bad meal. You can make your own combo and choose your flavors for iced coffee or do similar for iced tea. I love all the pictures inside makes it nice and cozy. The service has been nice always helpful. Today my husband and I got breakfast sandwiches that were both great. You will enjoy this place. read more

Not many restaurants in the area so swung by for lunch. Cute place with some seating and lots of sandwich options - all premade in their fridge but can be heated if you'd like. Got their turkey sandwich and it was your typical sandwich. Was not the biggest fan of their matcha, and also thought one of the staff were a little abrasive unfortunately. Parking all around the building and some across the street. There are 2 entrances. One in the front and the other in the back. I love the options for various flavors. Their croissants are delicious. An advance heads up that they don't ask you if you would like it toasted or not so if you order one they just stick it in a bag and serve it cold. I ordered the spanich feta croissant, parmesan leek croissant, ramwich, cinnamon bun, iced toasted marshmallow matcha, chocolate peanut butter latte, and purchased a half gallon of iced coffee (no ice) to go! I would've given this place a 5, but not offering or asking about the croissants to be heated was a bit of a disdisservice on top of it just being given cold. read more

TLC Coffee Roasters is a small sized cafe with seating inside and out. There is an expansive menu, although I found it confusing because some specials were listed outside but not inside. It was hard to recall the ones listed outside. I ordered a marshmallow matcha, it was okay. Matcha quality was mediocre and I found the marshmallow syrup left a lingering taste in my mouth. Personally, was not for me. Additionally, I tried an autumn special sandwich which had good flavor but more toasted bread would have perfected it. Finally, the pesto egg sandwich was good aswell, although again more toasted bread would have made it better. Also when ordering this sandwich the worker did not ask us which bread we would like, I feel like we could've chose a better option for said sandwich. Overall, it was a decent quick stop, lots of options so maybe I just ordered the wrong things! It is worth a try. read more

I love all the different flavor specials for coffee, but can never go wrong with getting a chai. It's a really cozy place to just get good drinks & food and sit and study/do work. It's also just so convenient for early beach trips or URI campus visits. read more

the first time i came to TLC was really good, drinks were great and clean area the second time i ordered the same drink which had a bitter flavoring and no toppings. the service was a bit faster then last time. i kept getting attacked by flies they have free stickers though so that makes up for it read more

I hadn't been here in quite a while - and what a change! They've certainly spruced up the place and made it into a very cozy and charming hang-out. Coffees were excellent - and a variety of beans and brews to choose from. The pastries looked good but we didn't try them because we were there for some luncheon sandwiches. I had a nice chicken salad with walnuts and cranberries; my wife had their caprese-style sandwich. Both were very good. Definitely a great place to cool your heels a bit and refuel! read more

My sister went in there and then I stopped in a few days later. I thought she was kidding when she told me the following. There is some sort of a coffee bar where you dispense your flavors into iced coffee or tea. The containers were dirty on the outside and the inside and the spigots were nothing less than disgusting. The whole display looked like it had not been cleaned in a month of Sundays. The display case where the sandwiches are held, had old food lurking down at the bottom right in front of the glass. The containers holding the cookies, etc looked like it had not been cleaned in between batches. It is sad, this place is a little goldmine for the proprietors. To realize that the spigot handles are what every single person touches every time that they make their custom iced drink just gives you the creeps. Knowing those germs are there and have been for weeks on end is distressing. The employees are a delight and deserve to be proud of their workplace, but this is unacceptable on so many levels. We stopped by while driving through town, and we're immediately overwhelmed by the options. There are a lot of them, and most of them seem to be flavors. Added to coffees, Thies, and other beverages. I tried to cold brew, which was above average. My wife had a café latte, which tastes like iced coffee with cream. Definitely no espresso flavor; just iced coffee. Not bad. Not good. Definitely not memorable. My kids had a vanilla chai latte. There isn't really any flavor of cardamom, or much chai. It tastes sort of like melted ice cream. They offered really weird flavor additions to the chai like raspberry and chocolate and other things that made me nervous. I can't speak to them. But I imagine they taste like other flavors of melted ice cream. How was your the pastries looked fresh. The croissant was above average, but not great. Needed more layers. It's more of a bread consistency than a croissant. Not flaky at all. The place looked amazing and that's why I pulled over. If you don't really like coffee, but like a white variety of flavors and coffee-based beverages, you will probably love this place. I bet my parents would. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. TLC Coffee Roasters is a cute little roadside cafe that features an in-house coffee roasting operation, plus a menu chock full of sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. It's an awesome spot in theory, but I was very underwhelmed when I visited a couple of days ago. The cafe itself is very homey, with lots of seating both at cozy chairs and communal tables. It's a good place to bring a group for coffee on the road, and I'm sure it's a popular study spot for college students at URI, which is just a mile down the road. The service is friendly, and there usually aren't many long lines to order, so that's a plus. The Tropical Iced Tea I got was yummy and refreshing on a warm August afternoon, but it was difficult to enjoy when watching how many flies and bugs were swarming around the cafe seating area. I was going to order a sandwich (one was a tasty sounding riff on a Caprese salad with pesto), or a blueberry muffin, but after seeing the the swarms of flies circling the food, I just couldn't bring myself to get something to eat. This coffee shop is fine to visit for a quick coffee or tea to go, but in terms of bug control, it needs a bit more TLC. read more

Simple the best! As mentioned in past reviews of mine I currently travel for work and I have found myself in Kingston a few different times. This place is my go to! Quick easy and delicious plus the staff is so kind! The decor in this place is so neat and thrifty I just love being in there. Their pick you own coffee flavor cooler is my fave part. I love a flavored coffee and they sure do deliver, I tried probably half of them from coconut to pumpkin spice they have anything you could crave! on my most recent visit I tried one of their specialty lattes and got a banana bread flavor, I don't know how they did it but they were right on the money. My fave sandwich is the TLC BLT, im not a huge tomato fan so all the fixings on this make it extra slay. This place is a hidden gem! The inside is so neat + organized, they have plenty of grab and go snacks and drinks, all the coffee flavors and a variety of coffee beans for sale. I stopped by yesterday and ran in for the first time. It was busy. Tons of students as well as locals. You can definitely tell this place is popular. I ordered two sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwiches. One on a sesame bagel and the other (mine) on an asiago bagel. I also got two hashbrowns (for the ride home of course) and a small chai tea latte. They are pretty efficient as they had tons of kids working. The wait to order was quick and my order was up in no time. I got back to my car and quickly broke out th hashbrowns. They were great! Nothing fancy, nothing to write home about, however they were the perfect snack for the 20min ride back home. The Chai was well, missing the steamed milk. When she handed it to me, it felt like a cup of air, I should have said something but it was busy and I was excited about those hashbrowns. When I took my first sip I realized that my cup was a cup of foam. It had great flavor but was foam. Just foam. Our bagel sandwiches were great. We don't have many places around here to get a sausage, egg and cheese so we are thankful for TLC Coffee and will def be back. I think this place is overrated. I was disappointed because I read all these reviews and I so wanted to love this place. Our coffees were decent. Our orders were wrong ( I wish I had a receipt to show you) We also waited a while for our bagels.... You're probably better off getting a pre-made breakfast burrito (they sounded good) We ordered a bagel with veg cream cheese.. received plain cream cheese. We ordered a bagel with maple walnut cream cheese and I received this bagel with honey smeared on top of cream cheese.... I heard a boy let another customer know that they just ran out of maple walnut cream cheese and asked what he'd like instead.
