My wife bought some Fudge when she was in Newport. Signature Turtle Fudge as well as some Sea Salt Caramel Fudge and a lighter color flavor she didn't remember the name of. I tried the first two. Okay. This place was fantastic. I ordered some sort of s'mores/coconut flavor and it was unreal. Said I wanted it in a cup with the waffle cone on the side and got a really confused look from the workers. Hello? no one ever get the waffle cone on top of the cup? Kind of rubbed me the wrong way but the ice cream was great. As I step to the register I see 10.99 for one ice cream. Holy shit. On top of that I bought one for my girlfriend as well and then they expect a tip after some mediocre customer service. 10% was an option so I had to just let em have it. When we asked if we could get two flavors in a small cup was answered with a harsh "no" and glare. Extremely uncomfortable environment and everyone seemed to hate their job. Came for a Valentine's treat with my little valentine. We walked in and said hello and the lady just glared at us. It looked as if she was training someone else, but obviously not on customer service and etiquette. The smell upon entering was deliciously enticing. Lots of candy available for purchase. I was feeling adventurous and got the rice crispy treat covered with chocolate, pecans, and caramel drizzle. Was OK. Wouldn't get again. I should've went for the big pretzels or the giant Reese's cups like I usually do. While this is a franchise, I do think they serve really top notch ice cream with solid fresh waffle and sugar cones. Ice cream and treats are yummy ... but the customer service is very poor. The young girls at the ice cream service counter could barely stop chatting about their personal lives/schedules long enough to make initial eye contact. They never asked if we wanted to order anything, instead I had to feel like I was interrupting their personal conversation to place an order. There was no offer of napkins or a a bag/spoon for the to go item. We also asked about a restroom for our toddler who urgently needed to go and it was like pulling teeth for them to give a helpful explanation about where the nearest restroom was since they were very quick to tell us they didn't offer one in the store. There are also no tables or anywhere to sit to enjoy your ice cream. Overall ... it's sad that their employees don't put better customer service forward to represent the company.
